Tyler Brûlé responsible for relaunch of St. Moritz magazine

As part of the town’s new brand positioning, *St. Moritz* magazine underwent a comprehensive relaunch. The concept and content were developed by the creative team led by editor-in-chief and St. Moritz expert Tyler Brûlé.

st-moritz-magazin

The new St. Moritz publication appears once a year in English and is also distributed internationally for the first time in cities such as Zurich, Milan, Berlin, London, Los Angeles and Toronto. Engadin St. Moritz Tourism developed the overall concept together with the Winkreative agency, whose founder Tyler Brûlé has been a St. Moritz fan for many years, according to the statement. "We were honored when we were asked to apply for this project - firstly because St. Moritz is an exciting brand, and secondly because I also consider myself a long-time resident of St. Moritz," said Tyler Brûlé, CEO of Winkreative. "With the new magazine, we believe St. Moritz now has a publication that not only attracts new visitors, but also represents the values that make the destination so first-class."

The creative team, which among other things designed the brand design of Swiss International Air Lines, will also take over the editing and production of the print magazine. "With the new magazine, we present the extravagance of St. Moritz with refreshing articles and stylish images. Thanks to worldwide distribution, we are arousing the curiosity of even more potential guests for our urban lifestyle in the middle of the mountains," says Gerhard Walter, CEO of Engadin St. Moritz Tourism.

The main topics of the magazine include exclusive living, St. Moritz events, and the cultural and sports offerings of the Alpine town. The magazine is presented to its national and international readers with a design specially produced for the magazine. In the launch issue of St. Moritz In addition to the Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz, a tour of the alpine residence of the artist Rolf Sachs, an interview with PR icon Karla Otto and fashion tips for the climate at 1856 meters above sea level will delight visitors.

The first edition was published in Zurich on May 8, 2019, and will also be sold internationally from May 17, 2019. The publication has a print run of 55,000 copies and is available at selected retailers in cities such as Zurich, Berlin, London, Milan, Toronto and Los Angeles. In addition, the title will be available through the global network of the Monocle-Magazine, the sister company of Winkreative.

"Haha" instead of "Like": Swiss reluctant to laugh on Facebook

Swiss Facebook users are among the most reluctant nations in the world to use the "haha" reaction. This is shown by an analysis by Socialbakers.

facebook-reactions

Switzerland was only ranked 35th in the list published by social media marketing platform Socialbakers on Thursday. This puts local users in the bottom third of the global Facebook laughing community. In stark contrast to our northern neighbors: Germany is one of the leading "haha" nations in the world in 4th place. Only users from Peru, France and Mexico use the laugh reaction more often than Germans to express their feelings about various Facebook posts.

Austria, on the other hand, has a similar ranking to Switzerland, coming in at 32nd place. What relevant conclusions can be drawn from the evaluation remains to be seen. Facebook introduced the option to rate other posts with different reactions at the beginning of 2016. Before that, there was only the Like button. (hae)

The Swiss Paraplegic Foundation (SPF) and the Contexta agency have launched the "I am innocent" campaign with the aim of doubling the number of new members in future. To this end, the motives for joining of several thousand members were examined and the strongest ones identified. Support for involuntary paraplegia appears to be the strongest driver across the entire population, which led to the decision to design the campaign based on this. With an online performance campaign, a further variety of motifs are also played out for specific target groups.

The campaign was implemented with real people affected, so the production required a great deal of sensitivity. Photographer Marco Grob, with his expertise and talent for capturing the character and energy of the people portrayed in his pictures, approached the five testimonials with corresponding empathy and professionalism.

Since Monday, the campaign can be seen on TV, online, mobile, on posters and in advertisements.

Bern Hotels advocates direct bookings with hotels

Although they can also benefit from a direct booking, more and more guests are booking their hotel stay via third-party providers on online platforms. Bern Hotels wants to sensitize guests to this issue with a new campaign.

BERN-Hotels_Screenshot_Spot_2019

When guests make their hotel bookings via a third-party provider, hotels pay the platforms between 12-25 percent commission. Direct bookings are therefore more attractive for hotels. However, this also applies to guests: they often benefit from lower prices or more advantageous offers. Bern Hotels, the association of Bern hotels, is therefore promoting direct bookings by means of an online campaign.

The Trio agency is already looking forward to the next fondue season and has created two short TV commercials for Vacherin Fribourgeois.

Bianca is on a discovery tour for Thurgau Tourism

To mark the 100th anniversary of Thurgau Tourism, Koch is sending the doll Bianca on a discovery tour.

00-bianca_case

On various online channels and with communication measures on public transport, people in and around Thurgau are asked to find out through Bianca's eyes where she is at the moment. Via livestream on Biancaon the road.ch the viewer can see everything that Bianca experiences. In addition, if he recognizes the whereabouts, he can participate in a competition and win various prizes. The doll will be on the road until 12.05.2019.

The managing director of Thurgau Tourism Rolf Müller explains why they are celebrating the anniversary with a doll: "We didn't want to simply fill billboards with beautiful pictures of Thurgau. Our goal with the agency was to create something extraordinary that would show Thurgau from a different perspective for once. With 'where is Bianca?' we can present our canton very well from a tourist point of view, invite people to compete and provide exciting, extraordinary but also quiet moments with the Slow TV format."

A camera system was installed in the doll's eye, which allows visitors to experience Bianca's adventure tour from her perspective.

From now on, the agency will provide communications support to Düring, a family-owned company based in Dällikon, Zurich. Currently, the realization of a new spot for the coffee machine special descaler "Durgol Swiss Espresso" is on the agenda, which is to be used in the DACH region as of fall.

Durgol is the Swiss original against limescale. Invented in 1951 by Marie Düring-Keller, the brand is now also on the move internationally: market leader in Switzerland and Austria, growing in Germany, and available in over 40 countries in total.

Migros brand Café Royal ends collaboration with Robbie Williams

The Migros coffee brand Café Royal no longer relies on the testimonial of Robbie Williams. This is what the Handelszeitung writes in its current issue.

agekke2

The separation has nothing to do with Williams' declining popularity, but rather the brand and positioning have been redefined, according to Café Royal. (Werbewoche.ch reported). "That's why we no longer work with one testimonial, but with several unconventional personalities." Café Royal shot a total of four commercials with former Take Thats singer and later solo entertainer Robbie Williams. His worldwide fame helped Café Royal build an international presence.

Hotelplan removes all VR glasses from Swiss travel agencies

The Swiss tour operator Hotelplan Suisse is discontinuing the use of virtual reality headsets in its travel agencies.

hotelplan-vr

Hotelplan confirms this information to the Handelszeitung"Unfortunately, there was not enough content. For example, you could move virtually through a cruise ship, but there was a lack of content for many other travel experiences." This ultimately led to "frustration among customers and travel agency employees".

In the fall of 2017, the VR glasses were introduced in ten Hotelplan branches on a trial basis, after which the service was expanded to 32 Hotelplan, Travelhouse and Globus Travel branches. According to Hotelplan, the VR glasses are currently only used at events and trade fairs, but no longer in the branches.

Ticino Turismo launches interregional project "DESy

Ticino Turismo aims to operate more efficiently and with a greater focus on specific target groups in the future and is launching an interregional project with various neighboring regions.

ticino

The digital transformation is also permanently changing the work in the tourism industry and offers opportunities to address today's increasingly knowledgeable, networked and demanding guests in a personalized way and to provide them with an offer tailored to their needs. Ticino Turismo has also taken advantage of digitalization and in May, together with neighboring Italian regions, will launch the interregional project "DESy", Digital Destination Evolution System, which involves the creation of a latest-generation Tourism Customer Relationship Management (TCRM) platform. Collected data is to be made analyzable, reusable and interpretable for personalized marketing measures and thus enable contact with the guest one-to-one on his entire customer journey - corresponding to his characteristics and interests.

The increase of the tourist attractiveness of the cross-border area should be achieved through measures that promote both innovation and optimization of the current processes of tourism, as well as the introduction of new technologies and tools for communication with the guest or potential guest.

"In the future, we will be able to interact with visitors in real time and show a page of Ticino exclusively designed for each tourist," said Kaspar Weber, interim director of Ticino Turismo. "A possible scenario could be the customization of the website or the newsletter, as well as the development of innovative applications that show content tailored to the individual." The "DESy" project will provide Ticino Turismo and all partners active in tourism with valuable data, which can be used to develop future marketing and product strategies tailored to the target group.

Over the next three years, this project will be implemented jointly by Ticino Turismo and the Italian organizations Distretto Turistico dei Laghi, ATL Novara and Province VCO, which include the Piedmont part of Lake Maggiore, Lake d'Orta, Lake Mergozzo, the Ossola Valleys and the Province of Novara. On the Swiss side, partners include Webateriler.net, the research laboratory of the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the University of the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland (USI), which deals with various topics related to new media in communication in the field of digital tourism, and the University of Applied Sciences of Ticino (SUPSI) with the Dalle Molle Institute of Artificial Intelligence (IDSIA), the Department of Innovative Technology and Artificial Intelligence Studies.

The implementation of TCRM is carried out in three phases: After the data has been collected and analyzed, the insights gained will be used to create new services and products for the guest, for a personalized customer approach. Each guest or potential guest should then be able to discover future travel options for Italian Switzerland that fit their preferences.

At the magazine MySwitzerlandThe magazine, which is produced in close collaboration with the Switzerland Tourism content team, makes full use of the possibilities of magazine design. The jury's verdict: "The award goes to individual and authentic content, a varied and lively magazine. Elaborately prepared sidestories, info-graphics and maps, a careful handling of the typography and a lot of attention to detail ensure inspiration and fun reading here, great format in the hand."

The magazine Swisslife is managed in-house by a chief editor and, following a complete overhaul last fall, pursues strategic content marketing by consistently strengthening its brand positioning. The relaunch focused on strengthening and expanding the analog/digital lead function in the print and digital channels and anticipating changing usage habits. The magazine's mono theme through personalized focus topics and the strengthening of channel suitability through access to diverse shareable content ensures higher reach by having all channels (own media / social media / paid media / viral stories) contribute to performance. In addition, the magazine content also feeds into the company's new "Life Stories" blog. The customer magazine Swisslife, overseen by Mediaform/Christoph Grenacher as project manager and designed by the communications agency Festland, is sent out three times a year in a print run of 120,000 copies in the target languages German, French and Italian; a further 60,000 or so addressees receive a personalized digital newsletter with online-friendly content.

With their strategic approach as well as the campaigns, Marleen Albert, Head of Social Media at Dreifive, and her team have been setting new standards since 2017 at Hello Family on visual storytelling, closeness through Swissness, infotainment and, above all, channel-specific content, always suited to the target group. Colorful and cheerful, like the Hello Family brand, they address target-group-specific topics with high relevance and thus enter into a close and personal dialog with users. Through an exciting content mix, users are picked up and emotionally addressed. With this strategy, Dreifive has built up an active Facebook community and positioned Hello Family as a strong partner for families. Marcel Oppliger, Managing Director at Dreifive, is delighted: "In today's world, people are literally inundated with advertising, which is why content marketing is becoming increasingly important. Because nothing else puts the user with his needs so much at the center. We create exciting and emotional content - content that interests people. That's why the award makes us particularly proud, because it shows that we're focusing on exactly the right things." "We started with social media just over two years ago. With the right strategy, we have already been able to build a large community on Facebook and enter into direct dialog with our customers. With this communication channel, the Hello Family brand is even closer to the customers and thus even more tangible," says Saara Jeisy, Campaign & Social Media Manager at Coop Hello Family.

Gomagazine: It is published by the IVCG International Association of Christian Business People. It aims to show business, political, scientific and cultural leaders that Christian values are important guiding principles in the business world as well as in society. The magazine features leaders who want to inspire reflection. It sets a counterpoint to the hectic world of business, comes across as visually calm but of high quality, and goes into depth in terms of content. In each issue, a key topic is examined from different angles. Editorially, each issue is new territory, which is why fixed sections are largely absent. Long reports, interviews and photo spreads aim to stand out in the fast-moving online news world. A fresh, cultivated language wants to strike a chord with the readership. In the midst of the flood of information from all channels, gomagazin wants to convey a sense of visual calm and tidiness and put the exclusive photographs and illustrations in the right light. The design and scope of gomagazin signal that it is not short fodder, but rather concentrated food. The magazine can be subscribed to and is available at newsstands, airports and hotels in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

With the "Mission Nemo" the Comet Group has embarked on the journey into the digital future of the company together with its employees around the world. The mission is to make topics such as artificial intelligence, Industry 4.0, robotics, Internet of Things, augmented reality, virtual reality and many more tangible. The cross-channel and interlocking communication strategy engages employees in the journey every two months via a new campaign. At the heart of the activities with the unifying idea of Mission Nemo are the shared experiences that employees have on the road to the future. To stimulate employees' creativity, the company has developed its own visual world. Various figures and symbols form the framework. They have their own identity, tell stories and are brought to life via augmented and virtual reality. In this way, they are a mouthpiece and integrating element between management and employees. The visible result is concrete implementation measures that employees develop in creative processes. In the end, they form the basis for the ongoing further development of digitization in the Comet Group.
