Franz Fischlin gives up moderation of "Medienclub

Over the past five years, Franz Fischlin has established «Medienclub» as a standalone program. He has now decided to step down as host and focus on «Tagesschau» and special projects.

Franz Fischlin

Some media topics were also discussed in the Tuesday evening "Club", but in November 2015 SRF decided to launch an independent format, the "Medienclub", which has been broadcast four to six times a year since then. Franz Fischlin took over as host and succeeded in institutionalizing the programme.

"I have experienced five highly exciting 'Media Club' years," Fischlin was quoted as saying in a press release. "With great guests and an active audience, to whom I would like to say a big thank you for their interest, trust and dialog. I am handing over the show because I want to reduce my workload. The decision was not easy for me, as the show was a matter close to my heart. I was able to launch and shape it. But I want to be even more involved in the family in the future. And I can now focus entirely on my role at 'Tagesschau' and on special projects such as YouNews."

Franz Fischlin's successor has not yet been decided. SRF is taking the change of presenter as an opportunity to think about the program concept. However, one thing is certain: SRF wants to continue to offer a program on media policy and journalistic topics.

Koch will support the "Corona Summer 2020" project. "I am delighted to have been asked by the SLRG and am highly motivated to accept this commitment. As an enthusiastic swimmer in the Aare, I know how much fun it can be to spend time in open waters. But I also know that you have to be careful. With the right behavior and good preparation, the risk of drowning accidents can be significantly reduced. Just like in the case of coronavirus infection. That's why it's particularly important to me this summer to support this important prevention project and act as an ambassador for safe water use," says Daniel Koch.

Daniel Koch will have his first assignment for the SLRG on June 26, when he and the lifeguards will address the Swiss population in a letter. This dispatch will take place as part of the "Corona Summer 2020" prevention project. Important components of the project are

  • Offering of Water safety advice for authorities and institutions

  • Prevention patrols at public bathing areas for prevention talks
  • Bath attendantsto support local pool operators and/or towns and municipalities on the waterfront with human resources for water supervision

Rudolf Schwabe, Central President of the SLRG and co-signatory of the prevention letter to the Swiss population, is pleased "that Daniel Koch is extending his commitment with us and, in addition to the protective measures of the FOPH, is also propagating the prevention efforts of the SLRG for a great summer with safe water fun".

Ammarkt implements SME campaign for TFP Treuhand

To promote the services offered by the Appenzell-based company TFP Treuhand, Ammarkt launched a campaign aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that shows how they can be supported.

Ammarkt

Whether baking bread, building houses, tending gardens or developing IT systems: Every SME runs a core business that the managing directors pursue with a great deal of passion and skill - if they get around to it at all. For many SMEs, the increasing administrative workload is becoming a time-consuming burden, and the core business often suffers as a result. This is where TFP Treuhand from Appenzell steps in with its strengths in accounting, payroll and much more.

The offer as well as the message are not new. It was therefore all the more important to find a way to surprise potential new customers with a fresh approach. In a first step, Ammarkt renewed the complete image of the traditional company in a two-stage assignment, as well as realizing a contemporary website and an image campaign addressed to SMEs.

Ammarkt

"We keep the 'office stuff' off SMEs' backs so they can focus on what they do best. And also do best." From this core conceptual message, Ammarkt developed four key visuals that illustrate "the suffering" of many SMB CEOs - and also presents the solution right away: A mandate with TFP.

To ensure that four expressive scenes could be realized within a limited budget, they were not photographed but created completely virtually with CGI. Only the protagonists were staged in a single day in the studio.

Pascal Duschletta strengthens Tasty Pictures

Pascal Duschletta has taken on a new role as a producer at Tasty Pictures, located at Hammerstrasse 8 in Zurich. The 30-year-old earned his stripes at Shining Pictures, where he managed and executed national and international projects as a junior producer.

Tasty Pictures

With the personnel reinforcement, Tasty Pictures wants to further strengthen its position in the production of authentic content, it says in a statement. Be it for brands, in collaboration with agencies or in the feature and doc sector: The focus will be on content-rich stories.

The two directors, Lea and Sean Fee, see films as part of their culture. "They reflect how we think about ourselves and others." Especially in the age of the never-ending feed, they say, it's more important than ever to produce relevant, high-quality films that touch people, pique their interest and broaden their horizons. With the moving image, one has a medium at one's disposal that can captivate the viewer in the most diverse ways.

New Head of Digital and new project - CRK expands

Effective July 1, 2020, CRK has appointed Christina Utz as its new Head of Digital. The online marketing specialist will expand the existing digital team and take the lead in the agency’s strategic development in the digital sector. In addition, CRK will handle communications for a Swiss “Century Project” commissioned by ASTRA.

CRK

Christina Utz is the new Head of Digital at CRK. In addition to her international experience, the 32-year-old brings highly specialized know-how in online marketing to the agency. Just six years after graduating with a Master of Science in Business Management, Utz was named one of the 2018 Forbes 30 Under 30 in the Marketing & Advertising category. As Co-Founder and Managing Partner, she led the U.S. advertising agency Zebra and has received numerous major awards in recent years. Among them is the Google Partners All-Stars Award, which she won four times in a row, as well as the Best of Swiss Web Award.

Communication for a Swiss project of the century

In order to keep the important north-south axis open during maintenance, the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO) is building a second Gotthard tunnel. In 2016, the Swiss electorate confirmed this project. Together with the Uri agency tinto and the Ticino engineering firm Comal SA, CRK is responsible for the overall communication of the project until 2029. The agencies prevailed in a multi-stage process for the nine-year project of the century. The first communicative highlight around the construction of the second tube are the two visitor centers. In the north and in the south of the tube, one information center each is being built at the Göschenen and Airolo stations. On the one hand, the centers are to provide information about the project, and on the other hand, they are to be integrated into the tourist offer of the region.

Now makes numbers Ba-Bing

Viseca is now going on the mobile payment offensive together with Apple Pay. Equipe provides the campaign for this.

apple pay

Mobile contactless payment is currently more relevant than ever before. In line with the new normality, the credit card issuer Viseca now wants to join forces with Apple and participating Swiss banks to make mobile payments with Apple Pay a success in this country as well.

A step that is obvious in view of an iPhone share of over 40%. Because with their Apple device, many Swiss already have the simplest and most secure mobile payment solution currently available. Click the button twice. Look at the screen once. Hold the iPhone up to the terminal. And that's it. The only thing you have to do is activate your credit card once.

This is precisely what Viseca now wants to motivate Switzerland to do. The simple message: You can either continue to make life difficult for yourself. Or you can use your credit card together with your iPhone or Apple Watch for fast, easy and contactless payments with Apple Pay.

Viseca relies completely on the services of Equipe for the introduction of Apple Pay. Together, everything from strategy to out-of-home, online videos, social media campaigning and the campaign landing page to 1-2-1 measures were developed and implemented together.

The entire media strategy, media planning, media buying and ad operations for all media channels, including SEA, are also delivered for the campaign by Equipe from a single source.

Keystone-SDA cuts jobs outside newsroom

The Keystone-SDA news agency is cutting jobs as part of its announced strategy to focus on its core business. The management team will be downsized, and a total of 8.8 full-time positions will be eliminated as a result of the discontinuation of third-party business and further adjustments in the areas of human resources, IT, and infrastructure.

Keystone-SDA

Keystone-SDA, like all media companies, has been undergoing a major process of change for some time, according to a statement issued on Tuesday. With an adjusted strategy, the company wants to focus even more on its core business as a national and multimedia news agency.

The company is saying goodbye to third-party business. Accordingly, the PR and corporate production areas are being discontinued. Contract photography for existing customers will remain.

The Finance department will now report directly to the CEO. As a result, the Executive Board will be reduced by one person. Human Resources (HR) will be outsourced for cost and efficiency reasons. The Infrastructure and IT units will also be affected by the reduction. A social plan is in place for the ten employees affected.

The board of directors is convinced that Keystone-SDA should remain a full-service multimedia agency, the statement said. The basic supply of news to the Swiss media is of central importance - especially in times of crisis. In addition, the measures introduced are intended to pave the way for further promotion of Keystone-SDA.

Goodwill in politics

In mid-April, the Federal Council decided to provide greater support for the news agency in the future. The federal contribution will now amount to a maximum of four million Swiss francs per year instead of the previous two million. This is linked to a clearly defined performance mandate.

In their special session at the beginning of May, the federal councils also adopted proposals for bridging aid to media in the Corona crisis. This includes temporary funds to enable the Keystone-SDA news agency to provide its basic text services free of charge to electronic media customers in the national languages of German, French and Italian.

Keystone-SDA was created in 2018 from the merger between the Swiss Dispatch Agency SDA and the picture agency Keystone. The restructuring led to the elimination of 36 of the total 150 editorial jobs. The announcement of these cuts was followed by a labor dispute in early 2018 with a strike lasting several days.

Syndicom calls for social responsibility

The media union Syndicom welcomes the focus on the journalistic core business, as it stated in a statement on Tuesday. This is right for Keystone-SDA as a news agency.

At the same time, Syndicom expects the company to fulfill its responsibility towards its employees. For a publicly funded company in particular, "restructuring" should never simply mean "downsizing".

The major publishers, as owners of the agency, are called upon to invest instead of resigning. Outsourcing services and then buying them externally would cause more costs in the long term. It is also questionable whether cutting back on infrastructure and IT would pay off. "Such short-term cost-cutting exercises only bear the hallmarks of the major publishers on Keystone-SDA's board of directors," writes Syndicom.

On the other hand, the media union considers it a "step in the right direction" that Keystone-SDA wants to apply the social plan for the people affected by the cutbacks, which was fought for by the editorial staff through a strike in 2018. (SDA)

Shopping center launches its own points app - Comet gives it a face

The Gäupark Egerkingen shopping center wants to further strengthen the loyalty of its 1,000,000 annual visitors and get to know them better. This is made possible by an app that engages both partners and customers, as well as a campaign designed to awaken the bargain hunter in every customer.

Komet

The Gäupoints app is an innovative CRM system that enables the shopping center to involve visitors and collect their data on an ongoing basis. In this way, it can address its customers individually and manage the entire Gäupoints community. The app connects the shopping center with its visitors, its stores and other companies in the area. According to the press release, everyone should benefit: Stores with an additional platform for their best offers, customers with individual coupons and, ultimately, Gäupark, which gets to know its customers better.

Every advertising medium a compliment

Komet is responsible for the communication, naming and design of the Gäupoints app. The Bern-based advertising agency developed a concept that is as simple as the app itself and compliments everyone who downloads it: "The new app for smart people." In keeping with this, a computer-generated fox serves as a recognition symbol and ensures likeability along the entire customer journey: regardless of whether the target group is at home, on the move, in the Gäupark or at the POS. All with the aim of awakening the inner savings fox in each of the 1,000,000 visitors to Gäupark.

Wanderlust for Basel

Kreisvier is developing a summer campaign for Basel Tourism that is intended to whet the appetite for a city trip.

Why travel far away when there is so much to discover in Switzerland - in Basel to be precise? Here, guests can stroll like on the Italian Riviera, marvel at architecture like in New York and observe animals almost like on a safari somewhere in Africa. In cooperation with the Basel agency kreisvier, a cross-media campaign has been created that shows exactly this colorful, cheerful attitude to life that defines the Basel summer. The visual and text language is clear, direct and makes you want to go on vacation, preferably right away, preferably in Basel. The integrated hashtag #thisisbasel already gives a little preview of the city's future communication: as a fun-loving place that is so much more than the Swiss stronghold for art and culture. The current campaign will be seen in the coming weeks in various print and online media, and of course in social media.

Responsible at Basel Tourismus: Christoph Bosshardt (Head of Marketing & Sales). With Mike Müller and Viktor Giacobbo on the 6-seater streetcar to Africa

Farner Branding has created a humorous commercial for the new Lewa Savanna at the Zurich Zoo. Viktor Giacobbo and Mike Müller take the tram to Africa. Thanks to the new African Lewa Savanna, Africa is suddenly so close.

zoo Zürich

Zurich Zoo opened the African Lewa Savannah on June 6. The outstanding features of the 5.6-hectare facility are the spacious open areas for the giraffes, rhinos and other animals as well as the striking baobabs or baobab trees.

The Lewa Savannah is intended to inspire visitors to enjoy animals, raise their awareness of the threat to biodiversity and motivate them to contribute to the protection of endangered species themselves through the connection with the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya.

The new Lewa Savannah at Zurich Zoo is home to fifteen animal species: ten mammal species, three bird species and two reptile species. It is home to a variety of animal species, from the smallest naked mole rat to the largest giraffe, which can be found on the large savannah, in the adjacent Lewa Village, in the Lewa Giraffe House and in the Kopje Rocks. The largest community is formed by the white rhinos, reticulated giraffes, Grevy's zebras, impalas, scimitar-horned antelopes, ostriches and helmeted guinea fowl, which all live together in the large outdoor enclosure.

Farner Branding was able to recruit the two well-known comedians Viktor Giacobbo and Mike Müller as actors. On their journey in the 6-seater streetcar, they reflect on their trip to Africa. The surprise is that they are not traveling to Africa at all, but visiting the new Africa facility at Zurich Zoo. Marc Sway is responsible for the jingle. It is an excerpt from his new "Lewa Savanna" song.

The commercials will be broadcast in cinemas and distributed via various online channels.
