Link and Adwebster integrate real-time market research data into booking system

The Link Institute and Adwebster are launching Switzerland's first programmatic integration of market research data. For the first time, scientifically validated, representative panel data will be made available to advertisers in real time.

An innovation in digital campaign management, as Adwebster notes in a press release. Now, sociodemographic profile data from advertising campaigns can be collected in real time and presented graphically. In addition to traditional reports that track ad impressions and clicks, the new metrics describe the sociodemographic characteristics of the target audience as well as their interests. Thanks to the comprehensive, verified profile data from the Link Internet Panel, accurate statements can be made regarding gender, age, place of residence, education, and income. This makes the reach of advertising campaigns transparent, and targeting products receive a «proof of concept,» as the press release further states.

Programmatic and in real time

The measurement is based on the Link Internet Panel, which consists of over 130,000 active panelists. By delivering a pixel along with the advertising campaign, individual ad impressions and clicks can be automatically attributed to Link panelists. This is made possible by integration with Adwebster’s online booking system, PMS (Programmatic Media System). The collected data is continuously synchronized in real time via an interface and presented in a clear, real-time report. The added value for advertisers lies in the ability to optimize the advertising campaign at any time based on the insights gained.

Empirically collected and target-oriented

The Link Institute and Adwebster are convinced that, by combining representative panel data with the widest possible network reach, it is now possible for the first time to achieve a scientifically supported, real-time evaluation of the target audience. The Link Internet Panel integration is now live and can be integrated exclusively via the PMS for advertising campaigns. Stefan Oglesby, CEO of Link Institut: «The future of market research lies in the intelligent linking of survey data with behavioral data. We are delighted to have found an extremely competent partner in adwebster, with whom we can implement our vision for the media market in an innovative and unique way.»

"The complexity created by the ongoing digitization of the cinema business as well and the increasing pressure on margins led to the decision to divest the cinema business," Publicitas wrote in a statement. In addition to print and online, Publicitas' two main revenue pillars, cinema marketing had offered too few synergies and thus no scalable effects in the company.

Christoph Marty, CEO Publicitas: "The sale of our cinema business allows us to invest more specifically in our core print and online business. We have taken the first steps with the Takeover of XentiveWe have already done this with the development of the new booking platform and the expansion of the digital team, and are continuing on this path with the redevelopment of our tools for the advertising market. Werbeweischer offers a very good perspective for our employees and the cinema market and will invest in the further development of the offers." Weischer Beteiligungs GmbH is taking over 100 percent of Publicitas Cinecom as of Sept. 21, 2015, with all obligations to customers and employees.

Globus: Marc Engelhard new Head of Marketing

In addition to restructuring measures and a reduction of 60 jobs, the previously vacant position of Head of Marketing at Globus will be filled by Marc Engelhard as of January 1, 2016.

The head of marketing communications at the Federation of Migros Cooperatives (MGB) is moving to the Globus magazine management team and will also become deputy to the new CEO Thomas Herbert, according to a statement on Monday.

The management of Magazine zum Globus has decided to restructure the Group headquarters in Spreitenbach and to cut around 60 of the total of 400 full-time positions. The measure is related to the difficult economic environment in the non-food retail sector. A "generously designed social plan" is to be applied. Wherever possible, the job cuts will be made through natural attrition and early retirements. Nevertheless, there will probably be around 40 redundancies, according to the statement. Those affected will be offered continued employment within the Migros Group wherever possible.

In addition, a comprehensive efficiency enhancement program is being implemented as part of the planned restructuring, with the aim of increasing earnings and reducing costs. As part of this program, among other things, digitization will be systematically driven forward, the product range optimized, and customer service further strengthened through targeted investments in the training of sales personnel.

The stop-motion film "Paper" was created in collaboration with the advertising agency RPA and the production company Reset. The result is fascinatingly different and aired in America last Sunday in prime football time. PES, which is based on Youtube 700'000 subscribers, makes commercials again and again, and has already been nominated once for an Oscar, has created an idiosyncratic masterpiece here. Namics grows in St. Gallen

On Monday, the web service provider Namics broke ground on a new office building in St. Gallen. *Werbewoche* was on site and spoke with Isabel Schorer about St. Gallen’s efforts to promote the ICT sector.

The new office building will have 3,300 square meters of work space and provide 250 employees with a workplace. The construction project is being financed and implemented by the joint pension fund ASGA Pensionskasse Genossenschaft. As part of the collaboration with ASGA, Namics has agreed to lease the entire building for at least 15 years. The building is scheduled for completion at the beginning of 2017.

In the long term, Namics plans to grow, as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Partner at Namics, Roland Schönholzer, confirms: "Namics continues to grow - in Switzerland too. Together with ASGA, we are therefore creating an office building that offers our employees many advantages: On the one hand, they no longer have to communicate via offices scattered around the city. On the other hand, colleagues will benefit from the proximity to the main railway station and modern workplaces. With the ground-breaking ceremony, we are taking a big step towards the future in our 20th anniversary year."

Promotion of St. Gallen as an ICT location

With this strategic decision, the e-business specialist not only wants to strengthen its position as a long-term employer in the region. With the ground-breaking ceremony to mark its 20th anniversary, the web service provider is also strengthening the founding location of St. Gallen. "Namics is a very future-oriented company that creates service jobs," confirms Isabel Schorer, Head of Location Promotion St. Gallen. She is convinced that Namics is the ideal partner to have on board: "St. Gallen is one of the largest ICT locations in Switzerland. It is therefore important for us to better position this location. Namics contributes a lot here as a company, but also as an employer, as the company is a very modern and attractive employer in the ICT environment."

To this end, the company has been supporting the "IT St. Gallen rocks" project for some time. A year ago, 26 IT companies got together with the St. Gallen location promotion agency and decided to promote the attractiveness of St. Gallen as a place to work and live. Under the claim "IT St. Gallen rocks", Namics developed a comprehensive concept for an image campaign at the end of 2013, which was implemented over the course of last year with a dedicated website and several waves of Poster campaigns was implemented. This initiative kicked off on November 27, 2013 with a concert by industrial legends "The Young Gods" in the Lokremise St. Gallen in front of over 750 visitors, most of them from the IT sector.

However, the web service provider is also involved in the education sector, and for good reason, according to Schorer: "The training and further education on offer must be tailored precisely to what companies actually need. In order to be able to cover the increasing demand for employees in the long term, Namics developed the HF Communication Designer course with a specialization in Interactive Media Design together with the St. Gallen University of Applied Sciences. The concept for the new course was developed by Jana Nobel, Creative Director at Namics. This course has just started in August with the first apprentices. (Read more: Interview with Jana Nobel in the next Print edition from Friday, October 2, 2015)

New location as a reflection of culture

Namics initiated an architectural competition for the new building at Unterstrasse 12 in 2013. ARGE Menn Amann came out on top from a total of six participating offices. The design represents the culture of the full-service web service provider, which has been in existence since 1995, and impressed the jury with its open and flexible spatial structure. The Namics "think tank" enables and promotes interactive collaboration through generously dimensioned meeting and exchange areas. (uma)

Unique asks questions for Lidl Switzerland

Unikat has implemented a 360-degree image campaign for Lidl. An information platform, TV and radio spots, print subjects and other measures are designed to help break down prejudices.

Lidl has been active in Switzerland for a good six years. The discounter quickly gained a foothold and is now one of the top five retailers in the country. Lidl Switzerland's success is based in part on its consistent focus on Switzerland in its product range and communications. The growth figures are among the best in Europe. So the time has come to address those who still view the smart discounter with skepticism. "Those who know us appreciate us or at least have a clear opinion of us" is the tenor from Lidl Switzerland. However, those who have never been to a Lidl, their opinion is often shaped by prejudices, which in many cases do not correspond to the truth or are exaggerated.

Notice: You can find a more detailed background article on the new Lidl appearance in the current print edition of Werbewoche (17/2015)

For this reason, the company wants to communicate openly and respond to questions and prejudices with answers. The "That's why" campaign, which was developed by the Küsnacht agency Unikat, is the prelude to a major information campaign. The basis is the website, which was specially designed in collaboration with Mindbox. Lidl.ch/darum. It contains video contributions that provide information on the five most important and controversial topics. Anita Buri, the 1999 Miss Switzerland from Thurgau, is the confident moderator. There is also the opportunity to ask the company questions, which are answered in detail. Lidl Switzerland would like to confront possible prejudices and conduct an open dialog with consumers.

Website_4

The website is advertised cross-medially via posters, print and online measures. But the real centerpiece is the multi-part family soap of the "Hunzikers. An almost perfectly normal family, if it weren't for Kurt Hunziker, the head of the family: a notorious stick-in-the-mud, skeptic and somehow still a likeable guy. In a series comprising several commercials, the oddball family man evolves from a prejudiced doubter into a veritable Lidl fan. He is accompanied by his open-minded wife Tanja, his teenage daughter Priska, who is not always easy to get along with, and the cheeky, cheeky Moritz. These spots, enriched with witty dialogues, were realized in cooperation with Manifesto Films. Reto Salimbeni's experience as a feature film director also came into play. The campaign was launched with a trailer that did not yet reveal the background of the family soap and created the necessary curiosity.

Hunziker also has his say on the radio: he comments with incredulous words on the regular Lidl product commercial he has just heard. This gives the impression that this commentary is no longer even assigned to radio advertising. Here, too, a question is asked about each of the controversial communication topics and a reference is made to the website where the relevant facts can be found.

Ladensituationen

Part of the positioning in this phase of the company's development is the new appearance of the stores. The redesigned sales areas have become clearer and have been visually upgraded, positioning Lidl Switzerland even more consistently as a smart discounter. Here too, Unikat was able to provide the company with significant support from its design team, which underlines the close cooperation and has the advantage that the appearance is consistent through all communication channels, such as the weekly advertising brochure. The changeover of the store design is taking place throughout Switzerland and it is expected that in about a year's time all stores will welcome consumers with the same look. (pd)

Responsible at Unikat: Daniel Meier, Patrick Lienert, Samo Stahler, Manuel Schnoz (creation), Olivier Pasche, Sylvia Goetschel (consulting). Film production: Manifesto Films, Zurich, Shannon Mildon (Producer); Charlotte Hottinger (Client Services); Reto Salimbeni (Director); Andy Weimer Post-Production Supervisor); Tabea Bühlmann (Motion Graphics). Resign: New appearance for Linda Fäh

Just in time for the release of her new album, the website of pop singer and former Miss Switzerland Linda Fäh has been given a fresh new look. The design agency Resign is responsible for the redesign.

The new website by Linda Fäh has been online since September 18. The difference is clearly visible: while the old website was rather static and old-fashioned, the new one surprises with an integrated music video by Linda Fäh, which serves as the page background. In addition, the existing design has been modernized and adapted to the current needs of fans. All press articles can now be viewed on the website, and the agenda provides information about Linda Fäh's appearances as a presenter or singer. Linda Fäh is very happy with the new site: "A new website has been my dream for a long time. Thanks to Resign, this could now be realized quickly and easily. I think the design is simply brilliant and was constantly surprised by Resign's ideas."

lindafaeh-website-pressebild-web2

In addition to the visual changes, the site has been brought up to date technically. The website has a responsive design. This adapts to the end device so that users can also follow the pop singer via mobile phone or tablet. Linda Fäh is not the first celebrity for whom Resign has designed a website. Sylvie Meis is also one of the graphic design studio's clients. The company created the website for the presenter and brand ambassador in 2015. first official website designed and programmed.

SVP election campaign song conquers the charts

"Welcome to SVP" enters the hit parade at number six. However, the song is still not played on the SRF hit parade show. At least not in full length.

After the widespread media coverage and the prominently placed download requests (e.g. in 20 Minuten), it is hardly surprising that the DJ Antoine knock-off "Welcome to SVP", produced by National Councillor Thomas Matter ("DJ Thommy"), appears in the official Swiss hit parade. It reached sixth place, as the NZZ am Sonntag knows. Incidentally, the SVP's direct sales are not taken into account, otherwise it would probably have achieved a much higher position. The song has caused quite a stir, especially thanks to the self-ironic, provocative music video. The clip has been viewed around 370,000 times on YouTube so far.

The SVP's entry into the charts has triggered lively discussions at SRF. The song may not be played in the normal program as it is prohibited political advertising. The situation is somewhat different in the official hit parade program on Sunday afternoons. There, whatever has been sold should actually be played - regardless of which song it is. The question apparently triggered lengthy investigations at SRF, which reached all the way up to the editor-in-chief. The result: the election advertising song will not be played in full length in the hit parade program and "not without editorial embedding", as a spokeswoman announced on Saturday. The song will only be played to "convey an auditory impression".

Thomas Matter finds this approach "scandalous". After all, nobody was bothered by the song "Fuck Blocher" by Stress a few years ago. The SVP song, on the other hand, which is neutral in content, is now being punished. (hae)

Last but not least: Scratching fun

But it's about time: with the "Scratchbottle", BBDO Berlin and Beck's are tapping into a gap in the market and meeting a strange customer need.

You know it, but it's hard to explain: The irrepressible urge to scratch beer bottles. Bottle necks with aluminum labels are particularly affected. Many beer bottle holders are - usually unconsciously and in the middle of a conversation - true artists when it comes to working the surface with their fingernail. You just can't help it. Incidentally, many of us feel the same way with paper labels, even if more precise and beautiful works of art are possible in aluminum.

It was only a matter of time before someone came up with the idea of designing a beer bottle entirely around this strange but widespread need. Beck's and BBDO Berlin have now launched the limited "Scratchbottle" edition. The bottle is a playground for the fingernail. Just looking at the pictures makes you want to let off steam on the bottles. Even if Beck's is not one of your personal beer favorites. A selling point is a selling point. For a change, pointless waste of aluminum is at least fun. (hae)
