Agency at the airport launches hidden object campaign for Synapsis Foundation

To raise funds for research, the Synapsis Foundation and the agency at the airport are reaching out to the Swiss public with the hidden-object campaign «Who Will Help Walter?» as part of World Alzheimer’s Day.

Agentur am Flughafen

Alzheimer's, the "disease of forgetting," is still incurable today. The Synapsis Foundation - Alzheimer Research Switzerland wants to change this. It supports research into the development of the disease as well as into possibilities for early detection and the development of effective therapies. To do this, it relies on donations. The awareness and donation campaign by Agentur am Flughafen is intended to help with this.

Just the idea of gradually not being able to remember anything is frightening. This is the case for 128,000 Swiss people who suffer from Alzheimer's disease. But that's not all: according to researchers, the number of sufferers could rise to around 270,000 by 2045. The triggers of Alzheimer's disease are still not sufficiently clear. The Synapsis Foundation wants to change this and supports young, independent research groups in Switzerland in particular.

Who helps Walter?

The Foundation once again used World Alzheimer's Day on September 21 as an opportunity to draw attention to the problem of Alzheimer's throughout Switzerland. With a scattering in 1.2 million Swiss households, the foundation called on people not only to find Walter, but to actively help him. Those who visit the microsite Who-helps-walter.ch visits, can continue the search for Walter in a playful way and learn how various preventive measures can be taken to reduce the risk of developing dementia. By getting involved in the game, the recipients do the same to Walter. After all, just finding Walter contributes to mental fitness.

The Synapsis Foundation is asking as many Swiss people as possible to donate, but also to take prevention measures to heart and become active for the health of their brains. Because in addition to research into diagnosis and treatment methods, prevention is another important measure for a future without Alzheimer's disease.

Brand safety remains a constant challenge

The Brand Safety Report from the advertising associations IAB, LSA, and SWA shows that in the first half of 2020, 46 percent of the 100 largest Swiss advertisers placed ads in digital environments that could be perceived as harmful to their respective brands.

IAB Switzerland

Brand safety is a relevant topic for the IAB, LSA and SWA. In July, the advertising associations published a white paper that includes the creation of a uniform understanding of the terminology surrounding brand safety.

The Brand Safety Report is a comprehensive report for which digital advertising from the 100 largest Swiss advertising clients and exposed industries was examined and analyzed with regard to brand safety. The report distinguishes between legal safety (advertising environments that violate the law or advertising guidelines) and brand suitability, which refers to brand-specific safety requirements. In the first half of 2020, the Internet and various websites were audited to determine which ads appear on potentially brand-damaging pages. The analysis showed that although many brand safety-critical cases were registered, 54% of the brands were not or hardly exposed.

Greatest risk for leisure industry

Looking at different industries, the leisure industry (including gaming) showed the greatest risk of placing their digital ads in brand-critical environments, followed by industries such as charity and social platforms, government-related organizations, religious/spiritual organizations, and education/training.

In general, it was observed that advertisers who were new to advertising in the digital space - driven by the possibilities of Corona-induced changes in consumer behavior - were at higher risk of placing ads in brand-critical environments than established digital advertisers.

Basically, it should be noted that since 2017, there has been some progress with regard to reducing the exposure to non-brand-safe content on important advertising platforms such as YouTube and Facebook due to international pressure. However, the issue remains a constant challenge in Switzerland as well, which is why the advertising associations will continue to report regularly on the current situation regarding Brand Safety with the Transparency Initiative. The goal should be to achieve 100 percent brand safety, which requires the active interaction of all players involved.

For the "Brand Safety Report", which the associations IAB Switzerland, Leading Swiss Agencies (LSA) and Schweizer Werbe-Auftraggeberverband (SWA) conducted in cooperation with Zulu5 in the first half of 2020, over 1 million national and international potentially brand-damaging Internet domains were analyzed.

The study and the "Whitepaper Brand Safety" are available at Iab-switzerland.ch, Leadingswissagencies.ch as well as Swa-asa.ch available for download free of charge.

ViznerBorel wins Confiserie Sprüngli as a customer

The ViznerBorel agency is expanding its client portfolio and will now be responsible for communications for Confiserie Sprüngli.

ViznerBorel

In 1836, David Sprüngli opened Confiserie Sprüngli & Fils on Marktgasse in Zurich, and the sixth-generation family business is now an institution. Sprüngli is a pioneer of Swiss Grand Cru chocolate and was instrumental in establishing the reputation of Swiss chocolate as the best in the world, which still exists today.

In 2020, ViznerBorel was awarded the seasonal communications mandate for Confiserie Sprüngli following a multi-stage agency evaluation.

"We are honored and delighted to be able to accompany this valuable brand and lead it into the future in terms of communications," the agency was quoted as saying in a media release.

Blue: Swisscom buries the Swisscom TV, Teleclub, Bluewin and Kitag brands

Swisscom is consolidating its entire entertainment portfolio under the «Blue» brand. The previous brand names—Swisscom TV, Bluewin, Teleclub, and Kitag Kinos—will be phased out. Going forward, the "blue giant" will also make its TV and pay-TV offerings available to non-customers.

Swisscom

The existing Swisscom TV will run as an app on smartphones, tablets and as a web player on computers from (tomorrow) Wednesday. From October 6, the app will also be available on Samsung TVs, and later also on LG TVs, Swisscom's head of private customers Dirk Wierzbitzki told the media in Zurich on Tuesday.
In the free version, customers have to endure advertising. In the paid version, they get 30 hours of replay and 60 hours of recording capacity.
The new app will also be launched on UPC's TV boxes in the next few weeks. The launch at other competitors is planned for next year, it said.
At the same time, the offerings will be given new names: Swisscom TV becomes "blue TV" and Teleclub "blue+. The Kitag cinemas are now called "blue Cinema. With one exception: "Bluewin" remains in the e-mail addresses.

Entertainment packages accessible to all

The entertainment packages of the pay subsidiary Teleclub are now also available to customers of other Internet providers. The sports offer with the showpiece Champions League can be purchased either as a package or in individual games. Swisscom explained that all products are now available on all platforms at the same price.

Film and series fans will now receive the blue Max package, which replaces the previous Teleclub Movie. The blue Doku package broadcasts documentaries from major international providers such as Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Geo Television and National Geographic. And for the French-speaking Swiss, blue Cinéplay combines the best of content from Canal+, HBO, OCS and abc, explained Swisscom's new head of entertainment Wolfgang Elsässer.

As already known, Swisscom and the cable network operators led by UPC have ceased their trench warfare. With the start of the new soccer and ice hockey seasons, they are each expected to offer access to each other's sports content from October. For example, UPC's MySports channel will be integrated into Swisscom's TV, while content from Blue+ (previously Teleclub) will be available on UPC TV boxes. This means that Swisscom customers will once again receive Swiss ice hockey and cable network customers will once again receive Champions League matches as well as Swiss soccer.

In addition to TV, there are also new offers for cinema and gaming. In future, live soccer matches or operas will also be shown in the existing Kitag cinemas. There are also sports bars or bowling alleys there. "In addition, we are thinking about how to bring gaming to the cinemas," Elsässer said. On TV, the e-sports gaming platform Twitch will be launched.

Gain many new customers

By bringing entertainment under one roof and extending it to customers of other providers, Swisscom hopes to attract new users. So far, almost every second household connected to broadband subscribes to Swisscom TV, Wierzbitzki said: "There's more to come. We hope to win significantly more new customers for our offers," said the head of private customers in an interview with the AWP news agency. He did not want to reveal any figures.

There is one hint: So far, around 350,000 people out of a total of 1.56 million TV customers use the Swisscom TV app every month, according to Christian Gugelmann, who is responsible for the app. These customers of the TV app do not have to do anything. It automatically updates itself to the new version if this is activated in the device settings.

However, despite the consolidation under one roof, there is still no flat-rate subscription for all offers.

No step towards the abolition of the TV box

However, the launch of the new TV app for everyone is not the first step toward abolishing the TV box, said Wierzbitzki. With remote control or voice control, the TV box is easier to use than the app on a cell phone or smart TV. In addition, content from third-party providers such as Netflix can be integrated into the TV platform.

Telecom expert Ralf Beyeler from Internet comparison service Moneyland judged the prices for Blue's streaming packages to be relatively expensive, even when compared with competitors such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video or Disney+. In addition, the customer has to commit to a contract for six months.

"On the other hand, it is to be welcomed that Swisscom is finally focusing on a streaming offer that is available to everyone. For sports fans in particular, this is very good news," Beyeler found. (SDA)

Caotina sweetens the late summer content and form

The Zurich-based agency Inhalt und Form has been awarded the contract for the Caotina brand.

Caotina

During a chemistry meeting and a subsequent test project, the agency in Kreis 5 was chosen. "We were convinced by their agility and versatility of content and form - and not least by their palpable enthusiasm for our Caotina brand," says Michèle Rao, Caotina's Brand Manager, commenting on the decision in favor of the agency.

A sweet addition to the customer base that pleases not only the chocolate fans in the agency. The first work will be served at the beginning of the new year.

Family and Amorana play with analogies

Family's current Amorana campaign plays with analogies and, with a healthy dose of irony, navigates around the TV stations' guidelines—and the stations are showing a sense of humor.

Analogien

"We celebrate the human play instinct in a humorous way and leave the interpretation to the community" explains Alan Frei, CMO of Amorana. And this apparently with success: The responsible persons of the TV stations reacted amused.

I amorana you

In the new campaign, the figurative mark becomes part of the message throughout and is staged as a declaration of love. The second wave is to become even more personal with real love stories from the Amorana community.

The national campaign with five image and 25 product spots will be seen on TV and online. Image and product posters will flank the advertising offensive.

Responsible at Amorana: Lukas Speiser (CEO); Alan Frei (CMO); Irina Gorina (CD). Responsible agency: Family. Production: Bubbles&Sons.

Wunderman Thompson for PostFinance: Wealth accumulation need not be burdensome

PostFinance’s digital products make it easy to get started or delve deeper into the world of investing. Nevertheless, people in Switzerland still have a great deal of hesitation about investing their money in investment solutions. With its new campaign, Wunderman Thompson aims to alleviate this fear of the unknown.

PostFinance

A wide range of communication measures were implemented as part of the Collision model. Since mid-September 2020, the campaign with the claim "Investing made easy" can be seen throughout Switzerland - with several TV spots, OOH, DOOH, online measures and an appearance for PostFinance branches.

Depending on the customer journey, the advertising material leads either to a landing page or directly to the respective investment product. In parallel, various headline subjects raise awareness and at the same time reduce prejudices about investing.

PostFinance

Ease is conveyed across all communication channels. For example, five different short commercials show in just a few seconds how seamlessly PostFinance investment products can be integrated into everyday life.

And because the topic of investing should be at least as commonplace as the topic of weather, special sponsorship spots were produced especially for the SRF program "Meteo".

As of October 15, 2020, Benny Schiegg will take over operational responsibility of Kingfluencers. The 40-year-old has been with the social influencer agency as Chief Client Officer since the beginning of May 2020. He previously worked for four and a half years as a team leader in key account management for the Evian brand at Danone. Before that, the Zolliker worked in sales and marketing at Nike for seven years.

As the new Managing Director, Benny Schiegg primarily wants to further expand and professionalize the company's consulting expertise. Kingfluencers is to become even more of a consulting house in the future. Together with the more than 15 employees, he wants to offer inspiring creative concepts for campaigns and increasingly focus on social media strategy consulting for national and international companies.

Now that the previous CEO, Christian Reiter, has completed the set-up and development phase of the company and the creation of numerous digital tools, he would like to hand over the operational business to his colleague in a month's time. Having found and proven a long-term business model, he says it is now time for a more commercial CEO. According to Reiter, Benny Schiegg is exactly the right person for the strong growth phase that now follows: "Benny is very ambitious and shows full ownership. He immediately recognizes strategic opportunities in the fast-growing social influencer space and wants to bring this expertise to Kingfluencers' customers in a more holistic way in the future."

As one of three founders, Christian Reiter has led the fortunes of Kingfluencers as CEO since January 2017.

Reiter and Gertsch focus on the BoD

Reiter will continue to support the new CEO Schiegg after the handover of operations, especially in the technology area, and will then focus mainly on his board mandate. Chief Operations Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors Roman Gertsch will also withdraw from the Kingfluencers management team, but will continue to support the new CEO in financial and governance matters.

Gertsch, as co-founder like Reiter, has served as COO at the social influencer marketing agency since 2017 and will focus more on his leadership role on Kingfluencers' board of directors in the future.

Yoeri Callebaut becomes Chief Marketing and Growth Officer

As part of the realignment of the Executive Board, Yoeri Callebaut will be appointed Chief Marketing & Growth Officer as of October 15, 2020. The Belgian looks back on an international career in this field. Among others, he was Senior Marketing Manager at Philips Benelux and Strategy and Marketing Director EMEA at RMG Networks.

The Kingfluencers management will continue to be supported by Co-Founder Fabian Plüss, who, in addition to the Commercial sector, will increasingly take care of the Public Relations and Strategic Partnerships sectors. The Executive Board will be complemented by Chief Influence Officer & Creative Director Anja Lapčević, who was appointed in July 2020.

Gestalten stages the roaring twenties for the Kunsthaus Zürich

The Gestalten agency has created a campaign for the new exhibition «Schall und Rauch» on the 1920s at the Kunsthaus Zurich.

Gestalten

The 1920s are considered to be years of new beginnings, but also a time of relapses. After the First World War, people in all areas felt a great thirst for life and entertainment. Accordingly, not only the culture presented itself as diverse and vital, but also the society, which had to cope with the overthrow of role models and conventions from several sides at once.

This momentum, which is still reflected socially today in the form of innovation and experimentation, was captured by the designers from Binz in Zurich in a poster for the exhibition. In addition to the poster, the visual can be seen digitally and in various printed implementations.
