Ruf Lanz launches horrorscope for Animal in Law Foundation

In the «Horrorskop» campaign, Ruf Lanz creatively uses the animal zodiac signs on behalf of the Tier im Recht Foundation to highlight injustices.

Ruf Lanz

Horoscopes are very popular in many newspapers and magazines. For the foundation Tier im Recht TIR, Ruf Lanz uses the animal star signs in a different way. In a deceptively real "horrorscope", the foundation draws attention to the fact that the fate of Leo, Taurus, Capricorn, Pisces, Cancer, etc. is often under an unfavorable star.

Although animals are highly valued in our society, the applicable law does not provide them with sufficient protection everywhere. In addition, many animal welfare violations are not investigated and punished adequately or at all. Awareness of these abuses must be raised again and again.

Ruf Lanz has been working on this for eight years on behalf of the foundation. According to Gieri Bolliger, TIR's managing director, the campaigns to date "have caused quite a stir and triggered committed debates about animal welfare. In addition, the numerous awards have brought us and our work to the attention of new media."

The current campaign can be seen in newspapers and magazines starting in October and will also be played out on TIR's social media channels.

BAG and Rod enter a new phase with "Just do it!

Tracing, testing, isolation, quarantine - these measures are the focus of the FOPH's new sub-campaign to contain the new coronavirus. To motivate the population, and especially the young, Rod has launched new colorful subjects and advertises on platforms such as Twitch and Tinder.

BAG
Illustrator Katrin von Niederhäusern gives the FOPH's current sub-campaign a colorful and youthful touch.

Late summer is coming to an end, it is getting cooler, and the numbers of coronavirus infections are rising. Against this background, the Federal Office of Public Health FOPH is again adapting its "How to protect yourself" campaign: With the clear appeal "Just do it!", the FOPH is urgently reminding the population of the hygiene and behavioral rules with which everyone can protect themselves and others from infection with the new coronavirus.

The "TTIQ" strategy - tracing, testing, isolation, quarantine - is at the heart of the message. The subjects, created by illustrator Katrin von Niederhäusern, appeal with the call "Just do it!" to always comply with isolation in the event of a positive test with Covid-19, or quarantine in the event of a return from a risk area and an outstanding test. And also to always leave contact information if requested.

New advertising platforms to appeal to young people

As before, the campaign is aimed at the population as a whole. This time, individual subjects appeal particularly to young people and motivate them to leave their full contact details when they go out. The advertising media will be used as digital posters, on the radio and as classic online advertising media, as well as on YouTube, on social media, and now also on Tinder and the gamer platform Twitch.tv.

CH Media puts the brakes on costs: 30 million savings per year

The media company CH Media aims to reduce its annual recurring costs by 30 million Swiss francs by the end of 2022. According to the company, the efficiency program will result in job cuts.

CH Media

Despite the structural change and the coronavirus crisis, the savings should provide the financial resources to make investments in the CH Media 2025 strategy. This was announced by the media company on Thursday.

The Swiss media company includes, among others, the Aargauer newspaper, the Lucerne Newspaper as well as the TV stations Tele Züri and TV 3+. According to its own information, CH Media employs around 2000 people. Annual turnover amounts to CHF 448 million. CH Media was established in fall 2018 as a joint venture between the NZZ Media Group and AZ Medien.

The efficiency program is now being implemented, said company spokesman Stefan Heini at the request of Keystone-SDA. It will also lead to job cuts. He did not provide any specific details.

According to CH Media, the structural change in the media business and the sustained loss of sales due to the coronavirus crisis are the main reasons for the program "to further increase efficiency in all areas and to streamline the cost base".

All in all, they represented a major challenge for the implementation of CH Media's strategy. The digitization of the paid newspaper and the further development of the Entertainment division continued to require high investments.

A new efficiency program is essential for successful implementation and to ensure financial leeway even under the difficult conditions with falling sales. (SDA)

Epic shows the seriousness of life for SolidaVita

On behalf of the direct insurer SolidaVita, the Berlin-based agency Epic is encouraging the public to consider life insurance. After all, it can quickly be too late to do so.

SolidaVita
The personified "seriousness of life" in the current SolidaVita campaign.

SolidaVita is the life insurance division of Solida Versicherungen, which in turn is a subsidiary of the two health insurance companies Helsana and Concordia. Epic's current campaign personifies the "seriousness of life." In two TV spots, "Ernst" fatefully holds everyday situations in his hand and arbitrarily controls them with his remote control. The message is that you shouldn't wait for the serious side of life.

Wirz and Graubünden position the canton as an attractive place to work and live

Wirz and the Graubünden brand are continuing the «Enavant 4.0» regional promotion campaign with additional partners, as well as new content and initiatives. The message: Graubünden is not only a place to enjoy a deeply relaxing vacation, but also a place to live and work. Gian and Giachen are also part of the campaign.

Gian und Giachen – leben und arbeiten in Graubünden

The Graubünden brand aims to expand the perception of Graubünden with targeted measures - from a tourism brand to a high-profile location brand. In future, the canton should also be increasingly perceived as an attractive tech and industrial location. The "Enavant 4.0" communication campaign launched by the Graubünden brand and Wirz in 2019 is one instrument for this (Werbewoche.ch reported).

"Living and working" with Gian and Giachen

The iconic ibexes Gian and Giachen continue to play a central role, as they are used twice in the current campaign: on the one hand in the "Schaffa" TV commercial, and on the other hand as the keen commentators in four new online videos about living and working in Graubünden. The "Schaffa" TV commercial, which was launched in 2019, is currently being broadcast on SRF1 and SRF2, the Swiss advertising windows of German private broadcasters and various Swiss private stations.

The new short videos featuring talents from Graubünden companies, with Gian and Giachen's usual cheeky commentary, will be shown to the defined target groups on selected Swiss news and tech websites and on YouTube. At the click of a mouse, the short videos lead to the Living and working" content platform. This website contains portraits, innovation stories, interviews, listicals and background articles on the Grisons as a living and economic region.

Partner campaign with high-tech companies

The videos mentioned also build a bridge to the "Innovation and Talent" partner campaign. Seven high-tech companies from the Graubünden Rhine Valley and Prättigau are participating in this campaign. The aim is to work together and with the support of the Graubünden brand to develop the necessary leverage to attract qualified specialists to Graubünden. The companies will be presented at the Content platform by means of exciting portraits of employees. In addition to these portraits, innovation stories were also prepared for the current campaign, which are now being advertised online. Selected job offers from the participating companies have also been newly integrated. The companies involved in 2020 are Hamilton (Bonaduz), Oblamatik (Chur), Polycontact (Chur), Integra Biosciences (Zizers), Cedes (Landquart), Gritec (Grüsch) and the new specialty paper manufacturer Landqart (Landquart). Further companies are under discussion.

Implementation of Enavant 4.0

The overall project lead for the implementation of "Enavant 4.0" lies with the Graubünden Brand Office, which is also responsible for the operational implementation of the non-tourism measures. The purely tourism-related campaigns and measures are being implemented by Graubünden Ferien. Wirz is the lead agency responsible for the conception and implementation of "Enavant 4.0".

Polls in podcasts: Spotify tests "Polls"

The music streaming platform Spotify is currently testing a feature called «Polls» to conduct surveys within podcasts. The new feature is designed to allow hosts to let their audience vote on various topics in real time. They have complete control over the questions they want to ask their listeners.

Spotify
(Image: Spotify)

"Users can communicate directly with their favorite presenters. For example, they can suggest who should be the next guest on the podcast or participate directly in a discussion. Both the presenters and the listeners can follow the answers in real time, which opens up a completely new way of interaction," Spotify says.

Polls are a popular tool on many social media platforms. For example, Instagram has had a similar application since 2018. Unlike the Facebook subsidiary, Spotify polls are supposed to be completely anonymous. Only active participants in the polls can also see the results.

Soon available for all users

According to Spotify, about 90 percent of all users on both Android and iOS can participate in the polls at the moment, but the tests are only taking place for a few English-language podcasts. Soon, polls should be available to all users. It is still unclear whether all podcasts will be allowed to use the tool or only those that are in partnership with Spotify. (pte)
