A change is in the works at the top management level of the Ringier media group: Ladina Heimgartner will become head of the Blick Group and assume responsibility for the global media brands.

In addition to her mandate as Blick Group CEO, 40-year-old Ladina Heimgartner will take over the position as Head Global Media of Ringier AG on the Executive Board of the media group as of October 1, 2020. This was announced by the media group on Friday. Heimgartner will thus assume responsibility for around 120 media brands in 12 countries.

Heimgartner has only been with Ringier for seven months. She heads the Corporate Center with the Communications Department, Legal Department, Human Resources Department and Data Protection. Previously, she held a senior position at Swiss Television, most recently as Deputy Director General SRG/SSR.

The media manager will take over the new functions from Thomas Spiegel, who decided to leave the company due to differing views on the strategic direction, according to a statement. He will continue to work for Ringier until the beginning of 2021 to ensure the handover and bring important projects to a conclusion.

Building international media unit

"With Ladina Heimgartner, a manager is taking over the so important journalistic division of the Ringier Group who has proven in recent years that she has an excellent understanding of the transformation of the media industry," Ringier CEO Marc Walder is quoted as saying in the statement.

It will set up an international media unit at Group level, which will "drive and coordinate" the further development of Ringier's media brands in Switzerland, Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa.

Following Spiegel's departure from the Executive Board of Ringier AG, it will in future be composed of: Marc Walder (CEO), Annabella Bassler (CFO), Ladina Heimgartner (Head Global Media, CEO Blick Group), Robin Lingg (Head Global Marketplaces) and Alexander Theobald (COO Switzerland and CEO RASCH). Real Estate Summit 2020 was very well received

The 6th Real Estate Summit on the topic of change in the Samsung Hall was very well received. Of the approximately 500 registered guests, more than 400 people finally came to Dübendorf on September 15. The organizer was the Zurich Airport Region FRZ, Economic Network and Location Development.

Immobilien-Summit
Moderator Miriam Rickli spoke with politician Sigmar Gabriel at the 6th Real Estate Summit about the tensions in the global market.

Keynote speaker Sigmar Gabriel, German politician and newly elected member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank, spoke about "Europe in an uncomfortable world". According to Gabriel, we are currently experiencing a real cold war between the US and China. Europe, he said, was in danger of becoming irrelevant against the backdrop of emerging markets in Asia, the technological world power of the USA and Russian military power with permanent cyber attacks. Moreover, Donald Trump is trying to split NATO's security pact. Europe, he said, must summon the will to cooperate together and dare to face the future.

Switzerland's development speaks for the fact that the path this country has taken so far was the right one. Equally true, he said, "Switzerland has developed so well precisely because of its close and relaxed relationship with the EU." If there were better alternatives, the Swiss could leave this path - but he could think of no such alternatives. Asked by moderator Miriam Rickli who would emerge victorious in the race for world power, Gabriel promptly replies: No one, certainly not Europe.

No real estate crisis in sight

Will the current recession trigger a real estate crisis? Asked hard by the moderator, economic historian Tobias Straumann said: "In the next one to two years, the probability of a real estate crisis is zero percent."

To the most pressing question of when flight operations would return to pre-Corona levels, Daniel Scheifele, chief real estate officer and member of Zurich Airport's executive board, replied, "We expect the same or higher flight movements again in 2024 or 2025."

Built to Build

Created to build: Implenia CEO André Wyss explained how a leading multinational construction services provider is created. With 10,000 employees, Implenia turns over 4.4 billion Swiss francs (2019 figures). The order backlog is around 150 percent of annual sales. According to Wyss, there are great opportunities for the construction industry: due to megatrends such as urbanization and increasing mobility and infrastructure needs. "The construction industry is the world's largest industry, accounting for 13 percent of global GDP," Wyss said, underlining the importance of his industry.

Corona pandemic as a game changer

The Corona pandemic is a game changer, said Christine Novakovic, CEO of UBS Europe. Every crisis is also an opportunity. The word "normally" no longer applies, she said. "Uncertainty has become more than ever our constant companion." The challenges of the new world are called: Covid-19, economic collapse, monetary stability, sovereign debt, maximum uncertainty, protectionism and nationalism, low interest rates. Novakovic concluded, "Our new world will be more digital, less global and more indebted."

Romeo Deplazes, Division Manager Solutions and member of the Executive Board of Energie 360°, spoke about success factors for integral energy and mobility solutions. Deplazes promised: "We are transforming our company and supplying exclusively renewable energy by 2050."

Zurich airport region remains boom region

The "shift of global economic power" to Asia will continue even after the peak of the coronavirus crisis, according to Rudolf Tschopp, partner at Asia Green Real Estate. In Asia, real estate markets are primarily driven by sustained economic growth, urbanization and the growing middle class, he said.

In his opening address, the newly elected FRZ President André Ingold discussed pioneering construction projects in the airport region. Around twenty major construction projects (usually with a construction sum of well over 100 million Swiss francs) are either in the planning stage, under construction or nearing completion. As an example, he mentioned the newly planned Steinacker district in Kloten. Along the Glattalbahn, a colorful urban area is to be created with 6,700 inhabitants and a further 4,000 employees.

The 7th Real Estate Summit will be held at Samsung Hall on June 24, 2021.

Advery's "Know it?" campaign enters the next round

What do young people do to stay mentally healthy? At the end of 2019, the Child and Adolescent Health (KJG) of the Zug Health Office launched an awareness campaign on mental health. Now Advery has expanded the campaign website, and the campaign is launching its second round.

Advery

In a participatory youth research project of the Child and Youth Health (KJG) Canton Zug, 14- to 18-year-old young people - so-called youth researchers - investigated the question of what young people do to promote and maintain their mental health. Together with the agency Advery, which itself trains young people with mental health difficulties to become graphic designers and mediamaticians, this participatory approach was taken further at the end of last year and an awareness campaign on mental health was developed (Werbewoche.ch reported). In parallel, workshops were developed for Zug schools, where the topics are explored in greater depth with students.

Website expanded, peer chat integrated

The focus of the further development of the campaign was on expanding Know-it.ch into an information center around the topic of adolescent mental health. The eye-catching campaign illustrations and animations on the four tips of the youth researchers are still a central element. However, various other content has now been added, such as real stories from young people on the individual topics as videos and concrete help on specific challenges in text form. Also new is the option of a peer chat: this service, provided by ProJuventute, allows young people to chat directly with other young people and thus address their own problems.

Campaign for young people by young people

The campaign was deliberately developed by young people for young people. The style and the address correspond to the needs and expectations of young people. The campaign is based on the question "Do you know it?" which, together with a dramatized illustration, draws young people's attention to a typical everyday situation.

The four main subjects can be seen in various places in the canton - for example in Zug cinemas, on buses and on social media, especially on Instagram.

Contexta shows the Appenzeller from its noble side

Appenzeller and Contexta are launching a new campaign for the latest variety of Appenzeller cheese: Edel-Würzig. Just like their cheese, Appenzellers show their noble side.

Edel-Würzig-Plakat

To make the latest product known to a wider audience, the typical and popular Bänkli had to give way: instead of the rustic wooden bench, the three Alpine dairymen sit on a sumptuous sofa. And this is also where they enjoy their Edel-Würzig, perfectly in keeping with the campaign motto "We can also be noble."

The campaign includes billboards, 6-second bumper ads, advertisements, as well as posters, shelf flyers and screens at the POS.

Faster handover of Top Medien management - Jontsch joins as coach

Philippe Pfiffner is taking over as managing director of Radio Top and Tele Top from Günter Heuberger ten months earlier than planned. As a result of this change, Radio Top’s programming director position will also be filled by a new person. In addition, the department is receiving high-profile support.

Jontsch

Around a year ago, Top-Medien announced that long-standing Managing Director Günter Heuberger would be handing over his position to his deputy Philippe Pfiffner. A transition period until the end of 2021 was planned, but as a result of the good implementation of the transition phase to date, the Board of Directors of Top-Medien has brought forward the change to March 1, 2021.

Due to the earlier takeover of the management, Philippe Pfiffner is handing over his role as Program Director Radio Top to the two current deputies. Jasmin Barbiero and Katrin Germann will assume joint responsibility on January 1, 2021. The two long-standing employees will continue to be heard on the station. Jasmin Barbiero will regularly host the morning show, while Katrin Germann will keep her part-time workload as a mother of two.

ADC holds 45th general meeting as a country assembly

This year, the general meeting of the Association of Leading Creatives in the Communications Industry did not take place on a stage, but was held in a forest clearing as a “Landsgemeinde,” in the best traditional Swiss tradition. Following the general meeting, attendees toasted with beer and sausage.

ADC

In his opening remarks, ADC President Frank Bodin emphasized the importance of creativity as a success and economic factor. In front of all the technological innovations, content and its quality must not be forgotten. Moreover, in extraordinary times like these, innovative strategies and fresh ideas are more important than ever.

Corona, he said, is one of those rare Black Swan events that is already having fundamental effects on the social psyche. This includes questions about what the impact of this event will be on brands in a societal context. Frank Bodin urged members to increasingly address these questions and to be proactive and courageous in shaping the discourse.

The will to change is vital, especially now. ADC has also recognized this on its own behalf and has therefore launched numerous initiatives, such as the "BookYourCreative" online job platform. (Werbewoche.ch reported).

Echinaforce: Swissmedic investigates possible advertising infringement

Following reports that the natural remedy «Echinaforce» might be a «miracle cure» for the coronavirus, the Swiss drug regulatory agency Swissmedic has launched an investigation. It is examining whether the product was advertised to the general public in violation of regulations.

The "Tagesschau" on Monday, September 14, reported on the new study on the effect of Echinaforce in relation to Covid-19. (Screenshot: Srf.ch)

On Wednesday evening, a Swissmedic spokesperson confirmed a corresponding report by the eastern Swiss broadcaster TVO at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency. According to the supervisory authority, this could constitute prohibited advertising to the public for an unauthorized indication of a medicinal product.

Swissmedic did not provide any details. In general, medicinal products may only be advertised to the public in relation to the applications approved by the Agency for Therapeutic Products.

On Monday, the media published a study by the Spiez laboratory, according to which the herbal medicine "Echinaforce" from the Thurgau-based company A. Vogel helps against coronaviruses in the laboratory. The natural remedy made from extracts of the red coneflower was previously sold because it is generally said to strengthen the immune system and prevent colds.

Open effect in the human body

The researchers found that "Echinaforce" has a killing effect on coronaviruses in test tubes. According to the Spiez study, however, it is completely unclear whether the substance is also effective in the human body. The media reported that demand for "Echinaforce" rose sharply in pharmacies after the study became known. Some pharmacies apparently rationed sales as a result.

The Swissmedic spokesperson explained that the scientific publication by the Spiez laboratory in the "Virology Journal" on September 9 had led to misinterpretations. According to media reports, it had been reported indiscriminately, particularly in social media. This led to a rush among consumers to buy "Echinaforce" preparations and illegal offers on online platforms.

No scientific medical conclusions can be drawn from the laboratory study, the spokesperson continued. It is not advisable to buy preparations containing "Echinaforce" in advance. Swissmedic has also been working with platform operators and the cantons since the beginning of the week to delete illegal sales offers in order to protect consumers. (SDA)

High voltage gets ready for the new Züritipp

Since the beginning of September, the Zurich city magazine Züritipp has been appearing in a new outfit and with a new content concept. Hochspannung draws attention to the new Züritipp with an advertising campaign.

Hochspannung

With the new Züritipp concept, rigid structures are broken up in favor of more flexibility and for more space for current stories. After the relaunch was originally planned for spring, it was postponed to this fall due to the known situation (Werbewoche.ch reported).

The campaign draws attention to the resumed activity of the cultural, leisure and nightlife businesses. The protagonists are already practicing in the most beautiful anticipation in their own four walls how "waiter calling", "art admiring" or "leisure preparation" goes - of course always after the weekly reading of the new Züritipps.

Since the beginning of September, the campaign can be seen in and around Zurich on posters, advertisements, streetcar trailers, cultural pillars, and on various digital channels.

Publicis has Roger Federer sing Beatles song for Sunrise

In Publicis« latest campaign for »Sunrise We,« tennis legend Roger Federer sings the Beatles song »With a Little Help from My Friends." The message: The more, the better.

Sunrise

A man sits on a chair in a darkened room and begins somewhat hesitantly to sing "With a little help from my friends" by the Beatles. The camera moves around him and reveals that it is Roger Federer. In the latest spot, the maestro sings the iconic song by the mushroom heads for Sunrise. But not alone, as gradually more people join in and help Roger make the performance even better and bigger. The song and the lyrics tell the real story: the more people join forces, the better it gets.

The tagline "The more. The better." refers not only to the song and the film itself, but also to what is being advertised with it: The new Sunrise We portfolio, which offers customers more benefits and discounts the more Sunrise We products they combine.

"It's not often that you can combine the greatest tennis player of all time with the greatest band of all time," says Thomas Wildberger, CEO of Publicis. "You need not only the right idea, but also the necessary conditions, such as the rights for the song and the right client for it."

A special shoot with a special mood

"Roger Federer has done a lot of things, but he has never sung. And even at that, he's anything but bad," explain David Lübke and Pablo Schencke, the creative directors behind the campaign. There's a good reason for that, they add: "We've rarely seen a shoot with more drive. Even though Roger was a bit more reserved at the beginning, over the course of the day he developed into the driving force behind the performance and had a lot of fun with it, was relaxed and authentic. You can feel that immediately when you watch the film."

The campaign launches on TV on Monday and can also be seen on numerous other channels from the end of September.
