After the agency of Daniel Zuberbühler, Maurizio Rugghia and Florian Beck was already able to implement individual projects for Samsung, Sir Mary is now responsible for all launch campaigns for smartphones and TV of the South Korean manufacturer in the Swiss market.

Sir-Mary_Samsung

Sir Mary prevailed in a pitch process and has been responsible for creation and consulting for the smartphone and TV launch campaigns since January 2019. The first results of the partnership will already be seen in the first quarter of 2019.

"We are very excited to take the successful collaboration and learnings of the last years to the next level. And it is both an honor and an obligation for us to be able to make the difference in the highly competitive smartphone market with one of today's most exciting claims, 'Do what you can't'," says Florian Beck, owner and creative director of Sir Mary. Toni Koller, Head of Marketing Samsung Switzerland, on the agency selection: "We chose Sir Mary in a very high-level pitch, they completely convinced us with their gameplan. Job seekers and retirees in particular are interested in the jungle camp

So much for the "guilty pleasure" of intellectuals: A new analysis by data specialist Emetriq shows that job seekers and pensioners are disproportionately among the fans of the show "Ich bin ein Star, holt mich hier raus.

ibeshmhr

For 13 seasons now, the jungle camp has flickered across the screens of German TV viewers every January and is also considered a kind of "guilty pleasure" of intellectuals. Not for nothing has the format even been nominated for the prestigious Grimme Award. However, a closer look at those who are most interested in the jungle show does not confirm this image. Rather, it shows that job seekers and pensioners are disproportionately among the jungle fans. This is the result of an analysis by data specialist emetriq.

The evaluation of Emetriq Audience Insights shows the distribution of users with an interest in Dschungelcamp compared to the emetriq data pool. The data expert compares the characteristics gender, age, household net income as well as affinity and also analyzes the family, education and job status of the users.

Particularly popular with (early) retirees, rather unattractive for millennials

According to the Emetriq analysis, the proportionally largest share of those interested in the jungle are pensioners (20 percent). Close behind are job-seeking users (19 percent). In addition, the analysis shows that the common jungle fan is between 40 and 49 years old. In the younger comparison group of 20 to 29-year-olds, interest in the show is rather low: Only 10 percent of users in this age group find pleasure in Dschungelcamp. And more women (56 percent) than men (44 percent) watch.

Jungle fans like the tabloids, art and culture

The data specialist also takes a look at the affinities of IBES friends. They are particularly interested in tabloid topics. That should come as little surprise. However, the analysts observed a similarly high overlap with those who are enthusiastic about art and culture - which then again somehow pays into the reputation of the intellectual "guilty pleasure. Incidentally, disinterest in the jungle show is greatest among DIY enthusiasts.

Gillette commercial: Much criticism comes from women

According to an analysis by the data analytics firm MavenMagnet, 37 percent of women reacted negatively to the controversial Gillette ad released in the middle of the month.

While the advertising attracted a great deal of attention, this was clearly negative overall compared to other brand campaigns in the recent past, reports the creative industry magazine Campaign Live.

Shortly after its release, it was clear that the Gillette ad, which is directed against classic aggressive masculinity and calls on men to behave more positively, did not go down well with self-proclaimed true men (Werbewoche.ch reported). To gauge the general reaction, MavenMagnet analyzed hundreds of thousands of online reactions from YouTube, Twitter and Facebook to comments on news sites and forums. "If Gillette wanted to stimulate conversation, the 920,000 posts that we analyzed proved successful," says company founder Aditya Ghuwalewala.

According to him, however, it might come as a surprise to the company that so many women reacted badly to the ad. "High negativity was driven by the perception that Gillette is unfair when it comes to gender rights and skepticism that the company wants to bring about real change," says Ghuwalewala. Gillette does indeed lack credibility. Especially in English-speaking countries, many women had once again pointed out the #PinkTax, i.e. the higher prices of the pink Venus models of razors compared to men's models.

According to MagnetMaven, 64% of the online buzz following the ad was negative and 34% positive. The net reaction (percent positive minus percent negative) was therefore minus 30 percent. This is 104 percent worse than the median of 2640 other brand campaigns that the company has tracked over the past two years - in other words, extremely negative by advertising standards.

It remains to be seen whether this will have a negative impact on business. Only 43% of consumers are against the brand's advertising strategy, while 55% are actually in favor of it. Some even think that it will ultimately benefit significantly. "For all the men who unfortunately don't get it and say they'll never buy Gilette again, there are probably five more women who will buy Gilette for themselves or their partner in the future," says one comment.

Swiss companies invest in Big Data and Internet of Things

Big Data, the Internet of Things, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning are the top three digitalization topics among members of the German-speaking SAP User Group e. V. (DSAG). SAP users have planned or already launched projects in these areas, according to the DSAG Investment Report 2019*.

dsag

Respondents are more sceptical about digitization efforts in their companies than they were a year ago. A trend that is also evident among Swiss organizations. According to the survey, 69% of Swiss respondents do not consider their company to be very advanced in this area. In the previous year, the figure was 54 percent.

DSAG member companies continue to invest in IT in general. For 31 percent (DACH 40 percent) of the Swiss companies surveyed, the budget is increasing by an average of around 13 percent compared to the previous year. (DACH 16 percent). SAP investments are similar to general IT investments. They are increasing at 25 percent of Swiss companies (DACH 42 percent), by an average of 16 percent (DACH 27 percent). "A certain reluctance to invest on the part of many Swiss companies could be due to the fact that there is still no clear strategy regarding the future design of the software," comments Christian Zumbach, DSAG Board Member Switzerland. A new question this year asked whether the budget for software-supported business processes is provided and managed by the specialist department. In 39 percent of cases (DACH 28 percent), the specialist department is largely in charge. In 44 percent (DACH 41 percent) of companies, IT budgets remain the responsibility of IT. They therefore follow the traditional division of tasks.

Big data is top

In terms of current trend topics, more than half of Swiss companies (53%) are investing in big data (DACH 46%) and 44% in the Internet of Things (DACH 43%). Projects in the field of artificial intelligence are on the agenda for 25 percent (DACH 32 percent). Robotics Process Automation is on the agenda for 11 percent (DACH 23 percent). 17 percent of respondents have no projects planned for these topics (DACH 19 percent). Multiple answers were possible here. "Big data, the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence/machine learning have arrived in Swiss companies. This is an incentive for DSAG to continue to focus intensively on these topics in 2019," comments Christian Zumbach, DSAG Board Member Switzerland.

S/4HANA on the advance

The main investments in the Business Suite are declining. Only around 3 percent of Swiss companies are still planning high investments for 2019 (DACH 10 percent). By contrast, 11% are planning high investments for S/4HANA (on-premise) (DACH 14%) and 8% for S/4HANA (cloud) (DACH 3%). "A new understanding of S/4HANA seems to be emerging here, albeit not yet as pronounced," comments Christian Zumbach.

This trend is also reflected in the switch from ERP 6.0 to S/4HANA. This year, 3 percent still want to switch (DACH 5 percent). For 33%, the switch will be an issue in the next three years (DACH 39%). From 2021/2022, 31 percent plan to do so (DACH 30 percent). The number of those who have not yet made a decision has risen to 28% (+13%), while in DACH it has fallen to 16% (-9%). "The fact that the number of undecided companies has risen so much could indicate that many Swiss companies are examining additional alternatives before taking a concrete path," says Christian Zumbach, interpreting the result. On the other hand, the number of those who want to stay with SAP ERP 6.0 has fallen further to 3 percent (DACH 6 percent). That is 9 percent less than in 2018 (DACH -7 percent).

C/4HANA in the lead in Switzerland

When it comes to high and medium investments in SAP cloud solutions, C/4HANA is in the lead for 17 percent of respondents in Switzerland. (DACH 12 percent). On a par with SuccessFactors, also with 17 percent (DACH 16 percent). Concur follows with 11 percent (DACH 7 percent). SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) (DACH 10 percent), SAP Analytics Cloud (DACH 9 percent) and the planning solution Integrated Business Planning (DACH 8 percent) have each been chosen by 9 percent. Three percent are planning with Ariba (DACH 6 percent). "On the one hand, this reflects the affinity of Swiss companies for cloud solutions. On the other hand, there is probably a slightly greater willingness to adopt new solutions such as C/4HANA more quickly than in the DACH region as a whole," says Christian Zumbach.

Digitalization: focus on existing business processes

In connection with investments in digitalization efforts, DSAG member companies continue to differentiate between existing business processes and new business models. The focus on existing business processes (very important and important) in Switzerland has increased by 7 percentage points (DACH + 5 percentage points to 90 percent) compared to the previous year to 94 percent. Investments in new business models were rated as important by 69% of respondents in Switzerland (DACH 68%). "The continued high importance of existing business processes shows that companies are still working very intensively with their ERP system," summarizes Christian Zumbach.

Conclusion

Investments in existing business processes are still more popular among Swiss companies than new business models. It will be interesting to see when the majority of DSAG members tackle new business models in the context of digitalization. The high level of investment in the Business Suite has decreased significantly. More than half of those surveyed are only planning to invest a small amount. Some of the budgets are being allocated to C/4HANA and SuccessFactors, among others.

Consequently, it will also be an important focus for DSAG in Switzerland this year to support DSAG members with meaningful information and assessments regarding investments in new solutions. More work needs to be done to convince the growing number of Swiss companies that are undecided about switching to S/4HANA.

Down-to-earth real estate marketing for the largest mining settlement in the canton of Thurgau

For the last available rental apartments in the Witenzelg development in Romanshorn, ASW Agentur Felix Partner Design created a refreshing testimonial campaign and also enhanced the website with a digital furniture planner.

04_Witenzelg_Plakat

Witenzelg Romanshorn is one of the largest energy-efficient housing estates in the canton of Thurgau with 144 rental apartments and 22 owner-occupied apartments as well as 15 studios/lofts. Felix Partner covered the entire process of the construction project: from project development and real estate investment to architecture and real estate marketing.

The campaign - simple and down-to-earth. With a regional focus, it communicates facts and reasons why people should live and work in Witenzelg Romanshorn.

A diversified communications mix was implemented: from traditional advertising media such as posters, flyers and public transport advertising to AdWords and Facebook formats that specifically target the regional market.

The special feature of the website is "Roomlab" - the sophisticated furniture planner. The floor plans can be furnished online according to your own ideas. You can rotate, move, measure, combine and try things out. The furniture plans created in this way can be saved, printed out and sent by e-mail.

Adello provides facts on smartphone and tablet use in Switzerland

The Adello Data Science Team analyzed over 11 billion data points from all Swiss mobile campaigns over the past year and presented the results in an infographic.

Rapid development of the advertising market

CH-Mobile-Nutzungsstudie_2019_1000PX

According to eMarketer, ad spend in the US mobile market exceeded investment in TV by more than USD 6 billion last year. In just twelve months, more budgets will be invested in mobile advertising than in all traditional media combined. This trend is also evident in this country. A new infographic therefore presents the latest developments in the Swiss market in data for the first time.

The continued growth in reach and technological advances of the mobile advertising channel are increasingly attractive to advertisers. However, the rapid development of the medium also leads to growing complexity and thus to recurring questions: "Are there time windows in which my campaign is particularly effective?", "With which voice split should I plan my campaign?"

Always the same questions

This need for information persists after the actual campaign planning and also affects agencies. For example, modern advertising creations increasingly exceed the recommended maximum weights, which leads to uncertainty: "Can we still run our ads?", "Why aren't my campaign's ad impressions evenly distributed throughout the day?", "Why are we seeing so much traffic from iPhones when there are supposedly many more Android devices in use?"

The answer is in the data

The Adello Data Science team has analyzed over 11 billion signals from all Swiss campaigns over the past year and illustrated them in the attached infographic. Thanks to these unique insights accumulated through the use of smartphones and tablets, the most important questions can no longer be answered based on heuristics alone, but for the first time with hard facts.

IWC Schaffhausen and Scholz & Friends celebrate the "Silver Spitfire

IWC is dedicating a watch collection to the record-breaking flight by two pilots in a restored Spitfire. Scholz & Friends is releasing a launch video to mark the occasion, produced by Who's McQueen Zurich.

In August 2019, the two pilots Steve Boultbee-Brooks and Matt Jones set off on a record-breaking flight around the world in a restored Spitfire from 1943. The luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen is accompanying the "Longest Flight" as a partner and is dedicating a new watch collection to the pilots and the Spitfire aircraft.

In an epic launch film with large and intense images, Scholz & Friends stages the restoration and maiden flight of the aircraft at the Boultbee Flight Academy in southern England and the prototype construction of the new Spitfire watch collection in Schaffhausen.

"We tell the story of man & machine and the perfect interplay from which great things can emerge," explains Robert Krause, Managing Director Creation Scholz & Friends Berlin. "We paid particular attention to the cinematic staging. The flight scenes were shot "in camera" - completely without CGI," adds Jörg Waschescio, Creative Director at Scholz & Friends.

The film celebrated its premiere last week at the Geneva Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie SIHH.
