Admeira expands its digital marketing expertise

Through a new exclusive partnership with Excom Media, Admeira is entering the digital-out-of-home (DOOH) market for the first time, thereby tapping into additional channels.

A new, web-based booking tool and dynamic pricing for print will offer every opportunity for digital portfolio and campaign optimization from the second quarter onwards.- Since January, Frank Zelger has been a new member of Admeira's Executive Board with his digital expertise.- As part of the transformation, jobs are being created in the digital and sales areas - the overall job budget remains stable thanks to efficiency gains.

Business Development Digital and team of data specialists further expanded

Admeira is consistently investing in cross-media and digital consulting services, innovative and effective marketing products, and simple and efficient planning and processing. "Admeira is evolving from a traditional advertising marketer to a customer-focused consulting company with the greatest digital marketing expertise," says Bertrand Jungo, CEO of Admeira. With this premise in mind, Admeira recently established the Business Development Digital department. Furthermore, the team of specialists for data-driven advertising will be further expanded with the aim of driving innovative targeting offers. New and creative target group formats are already available for advertisers to reach people with an affinity for luxury, health and wellness.

Inventory expansion and development of innovative products

In 2018, Admeira launched Switzerland's first interactive TV advertising campaign (OK Button) and won a European HbbTV award for it. With an inventory expansion and the development of new channels, Admeira is now laying the foundation for the development of new advertising offers. For example, Admeira and CH Media have expanded their cooperation. This will offer the advertising market new, high-reach pool offers from the six leading regional TV stations in German-speaking Switzerland, TeleZüri, Tele M1, TeleBärn, Tele 1, Telebasel and TVO, in combination with SRF 1, SRF zwei and SRF info.

In addition, Admeira and Excom Media have entered into an exclusive partnership. As a result, Admeira is opening up further channels and helping advertising spots from the beauty and healthcare sectors to achieve even greater reach and impact by broadcasting them in around 500 pharmacies and drugstores. For advertising customers, this effectively combines the benefits of TV, online and digital out-of-home screens, Bertrand Jungo: "These innovative further developments and partnerships enrich our high-quality, high-reach basic offerings with exciting new opportunities in the genres of print, digital and TV."

New booking tool and dynamic pricing for print

Together with Ringier and Ringier Axel Springer Schweiz, Admeira is launching "Marketplace Print" at the beginning of the second quarter - a platform that automates the booking process for print ads. The web-based Marketplace offers full access to the entire Admeira print inventory. Advertisers and agencies can use it to plan and book their campaigns independently and live. The "Marketplace Print" offers all options for portfolio and campaign optimization. The additional use of "Dynamic Pricing" always guarantees the best price based on absolute transparency.

Expansion of cross-media impact research

Admeira has added another tool to its impact research: the "Cross Media Check". This allows customers to check in real time how much reach, OTS (average contacts) and GRP (advertising pressure) their cross-media campaign has achieved. With the knowledge of which media and which media combinations have brought the decisive success, customers can design and optimize existing and future campaigns in a targeted manner.

Bertrand Jungo: "Impact is the currency of the future. We want to help our customers achieve demonstrable impact with the end consumer."

Reinforcement of the Executive Board

Frank Zelger joined the Executive Board of Admeira on January 1, 2019. Frank Zelger was most recently Chief Customer Officer and Member of the Executive Board at UPC GmbH and previously Executive Director Customer Care and Member of the Executive Board at Sunrise Communications. He has many years of broad experience in the areas of marketing and digitization. In the newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer, he is responsible for overall commercial coordination at Admeira as well as the business units in the print and digital areas.

As of 4. As of February 4, 2019, the Executive Board of Admeira will be composed as follows:Bertrand Jungo, CEOFrank Zelger, Chief Commercial Officer & Managing Director Print & DigitalBeatrice Kniel, Chief Marketing Officer & Managing Director BroadcastRené Plug, Chief Data & Technology OfficerKarin Ryser, Chief Financial OfficerMonika Kälin, Director Human ResourcesRomi Hofer, Director Corporate Communications (co-chair) At his own request, Beniamino Esposito is now focusing on marketing the inventory of Ringier Axel Springer Schweiz AG and will be responsible for the corresponding business unit.

Organizational further development

Keeping pace with the digital transformation and ever-changing customer needs requires continuous organizational development and ongoing adjustments to personnel structures and profiles. Thus, on the one hand, new positions were created in the digital and sales areas and, on the other hand, efficiency gains were realized in other areas. In this process, Admeira invests specifically in the digital skills of its employees by means of training and further education and supports them in internal job changes.

Despite these efforts, twelve terminations could not be prevented. In addition, there were five early retirements. Talks were held with the employees affected in good time. The Admeira social plan is being applied to those affected. This includes, among other things, comprehensive outplacement support, which includes further training support. Overall, the headcount remains stable.

Internet community grows by a million members a day

The "Digital 2019" study by Hootsuite and We Are Social shows: Currently, 3.5 billion people worldwide are active on social media. Usage increased by almost 9 percent year-on-year.

Hootsuite, a leader in social media management, and We Are Social, a global social media creative agency, have released their joint Digital 2019 survey. Now in its eighth edition, the survey, which analyzes digital trends and social media usage across 230 countries and regions, reveals: The number of Internet users is growing by one million new members every day. And 45 percent of the world's population - just under 3.5 billion people a year - log on to their favorite social networks. Compared to the previous year, this represents a 9 percent increase - and this despite society's heightened concerns about fake news, fake followers and data protection in 2018.

"Although social media was viewed more critically in 2018 and user trust declined, people around the world are spending more time on social media. The average daily usage time is now 2 hours and 16 minutes. That's about one-seventh of the time people are awake each day," comments Penny Wilson, CMO at Hootsuite.

"But to get the attention of existing customers, companies need to rethink their social media engagement. Companies need to respect the privacy of their users while creating personal 1:1 relationships through content that is relevant to the target audience and offered at the right time. And they need to do this without losing the originality and authenticity of their brand," says Wilson.

The rule for successful social media content is: mobile first

With a majority of active social media users - 3.25 billion people - accessing their social networks via their mobile devices, optimizing content for mobile use is increasingly critical to success. Also to be considered is the fact that the social networks people prefer to use are changing. And the way people engage there is also changing.

Facebook remains the world's most popular social media network: companies can now reach 2.121 billion people around the world with Facebook Ads. And although growth is slowing, Facebook is still expanding its user base. In the last quarter of 2018 alone, Facebook grew by 1.7 percent, or 37 million monthly active users. Instagram, on the other hand, has a smaller user base than Facebook, with an estimated one billion active members, but is growing it faster.

Instagram grew by 4.4 percent, or 38 million active users, in the months from October to December 2018. Twitter and Snapchat's active advertising audiences, on the other hand, fell by 2.7 percent and 12 percent, respectively. Facebook also dominates the market in terms of messaging apps and messaging usage. Facebook's investment in WhatsApp gives it market leadership in 133 countries. Facebook Messenger is number one in 85 countries, including the United States. In China, WeChat is the most popular messaging app.

Online retail benefits from growing internet and social media use

Global internet and social media usage is also fuelling online retailing. More than 2.8 billion people bought consumer goods over the Internet last year. This represents a 3.1 percent increase over the previous year. 75 percent of Internet users made online purchases last month alone, the majority of them via mobile devices. In total, this leads to e-commerce spending worth USD 1.785 trillion. That is 14 percent more than in the previous year. More and more e-commerce is also taking place via social media, as users enjoy the convenience of shopping directly from their social feed.

Best of Swiss Web: New category, prominent jury

Which Swiss e-commerce projects currently set the benchmark for digital sales? «Best of Swiss Web» will answer this question on April 17, 2019, with its newly created “Digital Commerce” category.

. A jury of prominent experts will judge all sales-relevant websites submitted by February 11. The winners will be awarded one of the traditional buoys, silver, bronze or an entry on the shortlist.

Under the direction of Pascal Sieber (sieber & partners, jury president), five experienced representatives of digital commerce providers will judge the submitted projects:

- Luca Graf, Head of Digital Innovation at Panalpina, formerly responsible for global e-commerce at SWISS

- Peter Keller, CFO at PCP.COM - Thierry Kneissler, Kneissler Consulting, formerly CEO Twint

- Markus Mahler, VR and former CEO of Brack.ch/Competec/Alltron

- Pascal Schneebeli, CEO Orell Füssli Thalia AG

The jury is complemented by two experts from specialized digital service providers:

- Nino Cometti, CEO dreipol GmbH (Interaction Design)

- Christopher Müller, CEO The Ergonomists (Usability and User Centered Design)

According to Christof Zogg, jury chairman of Best of Swiss Web and therefore responsible for the quality of the jury process, professional expertise was the decisive factor in the selection of the jurors: "Anyone who wants to adequately assess e-commerce platforms or other digital sales touchpoints today needs practical experience as a digital commerce operator or service provider. Only those who work in digital commerce on a daily basis are familiar with all facets of the business and know which critical details and key figures to look at and how to distinguish sustainable from superficial innovation."

Judging criteria

The jury of the newly created "Digital Commerce" category evaluates projects that are a benchmark for how products and services are sold digitally today. The following dimensions, among others, are assessed when evaluating digital commerce platforms:

- Experience: How attractively are the products and services presented? How clear is the shopping experience? How many clicks does it take to complete a purchase? Etc.

- Innovation: Does the platform offer innovative commerce features such as gamification, community integration, story-telling, product configurator, intelligent recommendation engine, etc.?

- Efficiency: How detailed are the individual customer activities measured? Does the platform have above-average values for relevant key figures such as conversion rate, abandonment rate, etc.?

- Process: How is the customer supported during the purchase process (e.g. through chat support, customer service callback, etc.)? How intensively is the customer informed about the order processing after the purchase?

Projects in all eleven Best of Swiss Web categories can be submitted until February 11, 2019. There will be buoys in eleven categories, which will be presented at the big award night on April 17, 2019 in front of around 1,000 guests.

The jury process of the Best of Swiss Web Awards

All submitted projects undergo a two-stage judging process. The respective expert committees for each category, which are made up of around ten selected experts, are responsible for the evaluation. A total of more than 100 jury members and the sophisticated jury procedure guarantee the highest degree of objectivity when awarding the gold, silver and bronze awards. The best of these award-winning projects will be put forward as candidates for the Master title. Finally, the Master of Swiss Web is awarded in a multi-stage jury and public vote.

MICE industry met at the ConferenceArena

At the brand-new Ambassador House in Zurich-Opfikon, the who’s who of the MICE industry gathered for the 7th edition of ConferenceArena, Switzerland’s largest trade show covering all aspects of business events.

Over 80 exhibitors from Germany and abroad presented themselves at the important industry summit, while star presenter Sven Epiney guided around 600 trade visitors through a top-class program.

The brand new Ambassador House

As the exclusive venue for the Conference Arena 2019, the brand new and completely modernized Ambassador House was presented to the assembled MICE world for the first time. The light-flooded atriums fascinated visitors, as did the sheer size of the premises: "It is this unique combination of excellent technical equipment, a perfect infrastructure with numerous meeting rooms, 1120 underground parking spaces and an ideal location close to the airport that makes this location so special," explains Roger Schaer, Managing Director of the Conference Arena.

City Boulevard and three squares

DSC_1968

The exhibitors presented themselves around three lively action platforms, called "Squares", where visitors to the trade fair could expect a wide range of offers from the entire MICE world. In the Technology Square, visitors were able to test event highlights such as the racing simulator from DCConsulting GmbH or take a seat in the comfortable S-Class from Fischer Limousinen, which makes the journey to meetings and conferences a highlight for important participants even before the event.

Visitors were also impressed by the new tap system from Heineken, which makes serving beer at outdoor events a special experience. The Networking Square focused on informal get-togethers, getting to know each other and discussing trends. Around the large lounge element in Atrium 1, visitors had the opportunity to catch up on the latest news from the industry with magazines such as "MICE-tip" at the media corner. They could also enjoy Italian coffee, which was served by Barista & more GmbH. In the Experience Square, the motto was experience and be amazed.

Musician AWI created a great atmosphere with his saxophone interludes. Läderach offered the finest chocolate, a culinary enrichment for any event, and rent-a-lounge transported visitors to the distant Orient with its stand. The event locations were just as satisfied with the discussions with the trade visitors as the artists and event agencies.

Top-class supporting program

Hosted by popular TV presenter Sven Epiney, trade visitors were treated to a varied content program with top international speakers on the large KFP Five Star Conference Service Swiss arena stage. Mental coach Rüdiger Böhm, who lost both legs as an elite athlete, inspired visitors with his presentation on how to successfully master change and overcome all limits on the path to personal and business success.

The workshops - another novelty at the ConferenceArena - were also very popular. Manfred Ritschard introduced visitors to the value of "Service Excellence", while participants learned how to deal with work stress in a humorous way from expert Udo Berenbrinkern. Lucia Bonatesta provided valuable tips on how to transform your own corporate culture into a culture of success, and the ConferenceArena was rounded off with a colorful evening event at which Edelweiss Catering pulled out all the stops and served visitors and exhibitors a wide variety of tasty dishes in a very special way, namely on visually animated walls.

Swiss Poster Award: 34 nominated campaigns

The 34 nominated campaigns have emerged victorious from a field of 330 entries and are already considered among the best creations of the year. The awards will be presented to the winners at the «APG|SGA Poster Night» on March 7, 2019.

Swiss Poster Award

The Swiss Poster Award is one of the largest creative competitions in commercial communication for analog, digital and innovative advertising in Switzerland. It honors outstanding creativity, emphasizes the value of design, and underscores the importance of outdoor advertising. The shortlist has already been determined: 34 nominated campaigns have left strong competition of 330 contest entries behind and already rank among the best creations of the year.

Last December, an independent jury of experts consisting of 21 experienced personalities from advertising, culture and design, headed by jury president Christian Brändle, evaluated a total of 330 outdoor advertising campaigns submitted. For the first time, Yvan Piccinno (Y&R Group Switzerland) and the multiple award-winning graphic designer Paula Troxler (PANK) were represented on the jury. 34 competition entries impressed with originality, striking implementation of the advertising message and creative execution, among other things. They made it onto the shortlist and were nominated in six competition categories for the Swiss Poster Award 2018. The opening up of the "Poster Innovations" category to "Out of Home Innovations" led to a greater variety of submissions, as all outdoor advertising formats and technologies are now eligible for the competition.

Award ceremony and exhibition

The winners of the Swiss Poster Awards in gold, silver or bronze as well as the main winner across all categories "Poster of the Year" will be announced on March 7, 2019, at the APG|SGA Poster Night in Hall 622 in Zurich Oerlikon. Swiss presenter Alexandra Maurer will lead the festive event. She will present the finalists and hand over the awards to the winners together with the laudators from the expert jury. Once again this year, Marcello Weiss and his team will delight the audience with an innovative stage design. The winning works will also be shown at the festival for graphic design and technology "grafikSchweiz19".

Dermafora with new PR agency

«When Science Meets Nature» is the tagline for the new cosmetics brand Dermafora. The new brand from VERFORA Ltd. (Galenica Group) is launching a completely new skincare line on February 1, 2019, developed in collaboration with Swiss pharmacists.

Thanks to her many years of experience (20 years) in the beauty sector, Cristina Paoletti from Paoletti Public Relations has recognized a clear shift in the way consumers inform themselves about new products, especially in the last few years.

"Today, women and men have a pretty high level of knowledge when it comes to ingredients and promises of effectiveness in cosmetics. Dermafora not only convinces me here, but also the end customer - because the philosophy behind it is coherent, the science is up to date and the products themselves are exceptionally clean and pleasantly formulated."

The Dermafora product range comprises 25 different care products at launch, which are formulated with traditional Swiss medicinal plants from the Pharmacopoea Helvetica and the best ingredients from the laboratory. There are five product lines to choose from for different skin needs; the prices for the effective and contemporary formulated cleansing products, moisturizers and special care products range from 10 to 33 francs - an extremely exciting price segment.

The experienced PR specialist is delighted with the new mandate, which fits seamlessly into her existing portfolio of selected consumer health and beauty brands and provides exciting new impetus. And with a "Made in Switzerland" bonus!

Poster pays to look

The creative agency Kids is launching the world's first poster on the streets of Berlin that rewards you for your attention.

Every day, companies invest a lot of money to attract our attention. But we don't get a penny for our attention. Tech insiders like Zuckerberg and Tristan Harris are starting to question the way companies control and monetize our attention. The kids creative agency has therefore decided to remind people how valuable their time is and has created the world's first poster in Berlin that pays people for their attention.

The mobile poster uses a sensor to reward passing pedestrians who stop in front of the poster with euro coins. The campaign not only surprised passers-by, but also gave them food for thought.

Sir Mary wins Megaphon Award as "Newcomer Agency 2019".

On January 31, the Zurich-based agency Sir Mary won one of the coveted Megaphon Awards from the Econ publishing house - it was named "Newcomer Agency 2019". Werbewoche was present at the award ceremony in Berlin.

Econ Verlag honored Sir Mary as "Newcomer Agency 2019" for the DACH region on January 31 in Berlin. The award honors agencies that provide creative impetus to the industry with fresh ideas and exceptional activities. A jury, which also includes the Advertising Week Part is, evaluates for this the quality of the work, the economic success as well as the quality of the self-promotion and PR.

About the agency: On course for growth since 2016

Daniel Zuberbühler, Florian Beck and Maurizio Rugghia founded Sir Mary in May 2016. Today, the Zurich agency has 28 employees, is economically profitable and has well-known clients. Among others, the team at Bertastrasse manages the creative and media budget of Allianz Suisse and is now the creative lead agency of Samsung in Switzerland.

If you would like to read more about Sir Mary, you will find an in-depth interview by our editor Ann-Kathrin Kübler with the agency's founders in Werbewoche 1/19. In issue 2/19, which will be published at the beginning of March, editor Johannes Hapig reports in retrospect on the award ceremony in Berlin.

Agency travels to Berlin with management team

Because not all employees were able to travel to Berlin for the award ceremony (some had to hold down the fort in Zurich, as business continued as usual despite the award), Sir Mary sent the agency's eight partners to the German capital.

On behalf of the entire team Daniel Zuberbühler, Owner, Managing Partner; Florian Beck, Owner, Chief Creative Officer; Maurizio Rugghia, Owner, Managing Partner; Nicolas Hostettler, Strategy Director, Partner; Tino Elsener, Account Director, Partner; Fabian Habisreutinger, Director Media & Analytics, Partner; Vanessa Habisreutinger, Director Media & Technology, Partner and Pascal Baumann, Creative Director, Partner received the award.

"It's not just the idea that counts, it's the facts".

Managing Partner Maurizio Rugghia was particularly pleased at the ceremony that "it's not just an award idea that counts, but that commercial success is also judged. This is not a question of taste, these are facts."

And Daniel Zuberbühler added: "What is also nice, of course, is that the award covers Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Now we can radiate out from Switzerland - especially in the wake of the fact that we recently established a branch office in Munich."

Coop Mobile customers are now on the move with Swisscom on the best network in Switzerland. The campaign was conceived and implemented by the bühler&bühler agency, which combines disciplines such as branding, advertising, and 1to1.

Creative Director Doris Bühler: "Coop Mobile combines a premium infrastructure with an affordable subscription from one of Switzerland's leading retailers.
