Eight talents still in the running for the Swiss Influencer Award 2019

Switzerland’s top influencer talents were sought in eight categories. From over 700 applicants, a panel of experts selected eight individuals. They will now be featured on Teleclub Zoom.

swiss-influencer-award

700 people gave their all over the course of several weeks to be named "Swiss Influencer Talent 2019". In three challenges, the participants were given the task of demonstrating their creativity, authenticity and uniqueness. From all applicants, the expert jury invited the ten most promising talents per category to the casting. "We were overwhelmed by the high number of participants and the creativity they demonstrated," Angela Fuchs, managing director of the Swiss Influencer Award, said in a statement. Under the expert eyes of star influencer Zoë Pastelle, Stanislava Zajc (Digital Teamleader Coca-Cola Switzerland) and SIA Jury President Fabian Plüss (Co-Founder Kingfluencers), the eight winners in each category were finally chosen (see table below).

The category winners will now be presented on the free TV channel Teleclub Zoom. From April 25, Annina Frey will present the program "Zoom Swiss Influencer Award Magazine" every Thursday at half past five. In it, the talents will be continuously presented with new challenges until the "Swiss Influencer Talent 2019" is awarded on June 20 in the Volkshaus from the three remaining candidates by then. Likewise, the three nominated star influencers per category will be announced weekly in the coming broadcasts until the award night.

The organizers of the Swiss Influencer Award are also aware that the life depicted on social media sometimes resembles an illusory world. That's why the SIA has a partner in Pro Juventute who also sheds light on this aspect. In the "Real Life" challenge, Pro Juventute gave all the talents the task of creating a post under this very motto. Joey Caruso from Winterthur was the most impressive winner of the challenge. The professional golfer likes to show himself on Instagram at the driving range practicing his sport. This conveys an ideal world with a high lifestyle factor. But in his post, he explains that there is also another side that he doesn't put out there on social media. Joey Caruso suffered from compulsions, could no longer work and eventually had to abandon his apprenticeship. Therapies helped him to overcome this slump. It is important to him to tell his followers to talk about his problems, as this is the only way to change things.

With a license to clean: Dachcom sets the scene for Pronto

The agency Dachcom has developed a cinematic campaign for the cleaning company Pronto.

Pronto 01 Header

For Pronto's new cross-media campaign, Dachcom sent the cleaning company on a secret mission. The aim of Pronto's overall communication remains to strengthen its position as the leading cleaning company in Eastern Switzerland.

Based on the core idea "There is no cleaning mission that Pronto does not complete successfully", the campaign was implemented photographically and cinematically in the best James Bond style. The campaign message "Mission: Clean." leaves no doubt that Pronto completes any cleaning mission, no matter how challenging, with flying colors.

A special version of the famous James Bond intro with an element of surprise was filmed for the cinema spot. The commercial will also be shown in St. Gallen cinemas next year, in the advertising block before the new Bond film.

In addition to the cinema spot, a large-scale F12 poster campaign in the St.Gallen area and central Switzerland, advertisements and social media measures will be used.

Y&R Wunderman orchestrates communications for launch of novel e-cigarette

After the Zurich-based agency Y&R Wunderman supported the Swiss market launch of the JTI brand Logic with a campaign last year, the collaboration is now entering its next phase.

be3b67f6-87be-49a1-86ca-e0671d6763ae

"Logic Compact" is the name of the innovative vape device, which is being promoted with the campaign claims "Click it. Vape it. Love it." and "Vaping just got simpler," it claims to have completely transformed the market for smoking alternatives in Switzerland.

a6c9aa4b-ee82-4a51-97c8-f35f30628290

The focus of communication is the practical magnetic capsule system and the reduced-elegant design, resulting in a completely intuitive and clean vape experience. The mouthpieces, which can be exchanged with a simple click, already contain the liquid with one of the five flavors: tobacco, menthol, berry mint, cherry or strawberry. Cleaning and maintenance of the device is completely unnecessary in this way.

Y&R Wunderman's stated goal is to make the Logic brand and its novel vaping technology better known overall and more inescapable for adult consumers. To this end, all aspects of the entire off- and online customer journey have been analyzed and strategized. A new Offer Strategy ensures that every potential buyer receives the most relevant offer at the right time and in the right place. With the help of newly developed key brand design elements for Logic Compact, print ads, out-of-home media, online banners, a brand website, POS material and a launch event were created.

The campaign will soon be on display throughout Switzerland.

Responsible at JTI: Andreas Walser (Consumer Marketing Lead), Alexandra Maria Jud (Consumer Activation Manager), Stefan Suter (RRP & FCT Lead), Philipp Meier (RRP Brand Manager). Responsible at Y&R Wunderman: Benjamin Franken (Creative Direction), Michael Gallmann (Art Direction), Marika Magnuszewska (Graphics), Winfried Schneider (Text), Nick-Patrick Herrmann (Consulting).

When motorcycle fans' hair stands on end

Harley-Davidson motorcycles will soon be available in electric versions. MullenLowe is rolling out the red carpet.

"The loudest thing you'll hear is your heart racing." reads the Harley-Davidson website. You could put it another way: "The last thing you'd expect from Harley-Davidson is electric motorcycles." The brand is the epitome of volume and gasoline. And now apparently also wants to make the leap into the electric mobility age. Available September 2019. MullenLowe Paris lays the communicative foundation. With a campaign that is worth seeing - but could also be misinterpreted. After all, many a die-hard Harley fan's hair will stand on end at the thought of the electrified myth. Have a good ride!

Traditional media research is enjoying increasing popularity

The Media.Research.Group's annual advertising market study shows that traditional media research is becoming increasingly popular with clients and agencies.

The Media.Research.Group's annual advertising market study wants to know from advertising clients and agencies how they use and assess the most important media research. 20 media researches are surveyed. 375 clients (exactly half of all Top750 advertising clients) and 44 agencies disclosed how they use and assess this research.

No signs of weakness in major media research

In view of the current restructuring of the advertising market, it is to be feared that traditional media research, especially that which measures the use of print media, will lose importance among clients and agencies, that their use by advertisers will decline and that their assessment will be less positive. However, when looking at this year's survey results, those responsible for these media surveys are relieved to see that none of this has happened.

MACH Basic - still the most widely used media research

Both clients and agencies use MACH Basic most frequently for their communication work. Six out of ten clients (60.6%) do so, of which 11% use it very frequently and 26.5% frequently. Among agencies, 92.1 percent use MACH Basic, 34.2 percent very frequently and just as many frequently.

Die-Bedeutung-der-Mediaforschungen-im-Schweizer-Werbemarkt-3

Clients used each of the ten most important media research surveys more frequently in 2019 than in the previous year. The use of MACH Basic increased by 1.5%. In a five-year comparison, however, this results in a decrease of 5%. The situation is better for agencies. Here, MACH Basic has increased by 6 percent compared to the previous year and in a five-year comparison the increase is 0.4 percent.

MACH Consumer - the second most frequently used media research

56.1% of clients use MACH Consumer, of which 9.6% use it very frequently and 24.5% frequently. Among agencies, 89.4 percent use MACH Consumer, 42.1 percent do so very frequently and 34.2 percent frequently.

The use of MACH Consumer by clients increased by 3.5% compared to the previous year. However, a five-year comparison shows a decrease of 3.7%.

The situation is similar for agencies. Here, MACH Consumer increased by 11.7% compared to the previous year and thus achieved the highest growth rate of all media research. In a five-year comparison, however, this figure still represents a drop of 4.3%.

The Mediapulse TV panel - the third most important media research among agencies

Two out of three agencies (68.4 percent) use the Mediapulse TV panel, 28.9 percent of them very frequently and 23.7 percent frequently. The Mediapulse TV panel is only half as important for clients. It is used by one in three (36.4 percent), by 7.3 percent very frequently and by 13 percent frequently.

The use of the Mediapulse TV panel by clients increased by 3.9% in 2019. The panel also increased by 2.5% in a five-year comparison.

The situation is surprisingly different for agencies. Here, the panel recorded a year-on-year decline of 3.9% and a five-year decline of 2.4%.

MACH Consumer - top-rated media research among agencies

Agencies clearly give MACH Consumer higher marks than MACH Basic. The reverse is true for clients. Nine out of ten agencies (90.6 percent) rate MACH Consumer as very good or good; 28.1 percent as very good and 62.5 percent as good. Among clients, MACH Consumer and MACH Basic are most frequently rated as very good (by 23.3 percent). MACH Basic was also rated as good by 37.7 percent of all clients, while MACH Consumer was only rated as good by 29.6 percent.

In contrast, the assessment of the Mediapulse TV panel is somewhat less positive. Six out of ten agencies (59.4%) rate the panel as very good or good. However, only 6.3 percent of agencies gave it a very good rating. With this rating, the panel is only in 12th place among agencies. The situation is only marginally better for clients. One in five (22%) rate the panel as very good or good. Here too, only 4.5 percent give it a very good rating. This is still enough for 9th place among clients. (Walter Weder, Media.Research.Group)

The Reinhardt von Graffenried Foundation has announced the winners of this year's Swiss Press Awards. The awards went to four men and two women from different regions of Switzerland.

In the print category, French-speaking Swiss journalist Camille Krafft won the prize with her text "Le système Constantin" about the president of FC Sion. The article appeared in Le Matin Dimanche. For her six-page portrait, Krafft had not stopped at the Valais emperor according to the Swiss Press Award website. In the meantime, Krafft works at the newspaper 24heures.

Zurich-based Florian Imbach, an editor at SRF Rundschau, was awarded in the video category. His contribution on Swiss television appeared under the title "The best friend - a police informer". It deals with a woman who is wrongly accused of child abuse. In the end, however, the case against the woman is dropped.

Rahel Walser, editor of Radio SRF in Basel, was honored as a radio journalist. Her contribution was called "Expensive Misdirected Incentives in the Health Care System", a research about the "commercialized health care system".

Pierre Pistoletti from Cath.ch won in the online category. With "The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing" he investigated sexual abuse in the church. Through interviews and testimonies on video, Pistoletti dared to ask the essential question: "What are the structural causes of the church that encourage abuse in it?", says the website.

The winner of the Swiss Press Local Award is Alessandro Bertellotti from Origlio TI with "The Man on the Train" on RSi (Radiotelevisione svizzera). The feature is about an African from Mali who hid on a train before entering Switzerland and died when he came into contact with the power line.

View photographer wins

The title "Swiss Photographer of the Year" was awarded to Stefan Bohrer from Basel (View) with the image of a column of smoke over the Basel harbor area (Werbewoche.ch reported). The photojournalist was on the scene of the fire at the container terminal before the police cordoned off the area. This is how the picture was taken with teenagers staring spellbound at the column of smoke in the background (see picture below).

The Fondation Reinhardt von Graffenried awards were presented on Wednesday evening in Bern. They are endowed with 20,000 Swiss francs each per category - print, online, radio and video, local journalism and photography. The six honorees also received the Diamond for outstanding work. (SDA)

Mauro Testerini reinforces aroma

Award-winning designer and scenographer Mauro Testerini is joining Aroma's project development team with immediate effect. The company is thus expanding its expertise in the creation of emotional brand and experience worlds.

aroma

According to the press release, Mauro Testerini has made a name for himself with works such as the Kuwait Pavilion for Expo 2015 in Milan, the positioning and staging of the Corviglia in St. Moritz, and museum stagings such as the new visitor center at the Sempach ornithological station and the Archaeorama in Unteruhldingen. Most recently, he was managing director of Steiner Sarnen Switzerland.

For him, the commitment at Aroma means a return to his roots: "My passion is the creation of emotional brand worlds. I am delighted to have Aroma, a team that is as versatile as it is passionate, at my side, with whom I can develop ideas and implement them internally from conception to production," says Mauro Testerini, explaining this step. And for Aroma, this new collaboration is also an exciting addition to the existing team. "Mauro is a specialist in his field. He combines design and architecture with storytelling and knows how to evoke emotions and generate value," comments Roger Staempfli, Executive Creative Director at Aroma on the choice. "We bring people into contact with brands - spatially, interactively and experientially," says Staempfli. This requires a deeper understanding of identity-creating brand strategies and new approaches to how companies can reach their customers in the future. The design of brand worlds and tourist experience worlds are elements that will gain in importance, he said.

Victory for WOZ: Seco must release data on war material exports

The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) must disclose to a WOZ journalist which companies based in Switzerland submitted an application to export war materiel in 2014. The Federal Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal filed by the relevant department.

bundesgericht

In a ruling published on Wednesday, the Federal Supreme Court supports the decision of the Federal Administrative Court. In March last year, the court concluded that there was a heightened public interest in information about the controversial war material exports, which in principle required a license.

The exports were repeatedly the subject of controversial debates in public and politics. In this context, the media made an essential contribution to the control of official activities, the Federal Administrative Court wrote. It was the task of the media to report on whether the state control bodies were fulfilling their duties.

Seco had given the journalist of the Weekly newspaper (WOZ) refused to provide the requested data from the outset. It took the position that, in accordance with the War Material Act, only the Federal Council's Committee for the Control of Exports of War Material is to be informed about the details of war material exports.

Seco argues that the democratically legitimized control is to be carried out solely by the Audit Commission and not by the public. It also asserted foreign and security policy reasons.

Switzerland's interests not at risk

The Federal Supreme Court sees things differently. It does not consider Switzerland's interests to be at risk. If no concrete business secrets can be claimed, Seco must disclose the names of the companies.

WOZ is pleased with the Federal Court's ruling, according to a media release on Wednesday. Thus, the interest of the population in transparency is weighted higher than that of the weapons lobby.

WOZ journalist Jan Jirat had made the request to Seco after the appearance of hand grenades from the federally owned arms company Ruag in the civil war in Syria. (SDA)

Franz&René for HES-SO Valais-Wallis: The very high school

As part of their third campaign for HES-SO Valais-Wallis, Franz&René composed an anthem titled «How We Move Mountains» and produced a music video in which the students themselves got to lend a hand.

In the third campaign for the HES-SO Valais-Wallis, the agency Franz&René ties in with the students' ambition to continue to be where it is not suspected. Thus, the students have ventured into new territory without losing sight of the mountains - which are the core of the campaign.

A video clip was realized in which the students of the "quite high school" creatively create the Valais mountain landscape that surrounds the HES-SO Valais-Wallis. The clip is accompanied by "How We Move Mountains", the soundtrack composed by Chotkowski & Montalcini especially for this campaign.

"Judge a book by its cover": Serviceplan Suisse invites you to literary speed dating

On behalf of the Swiss Booksellers and Publishers Association (SBVV), Serviceplan Suisse organized a literary speed dating event for World Book Day on 23 April. In line with the campaign claim "Say it with a book", participants brought along their favorite book to introduce themselves.

SPEED-DATING_5

The campaign, which was launched last November, aimed to make books popular again and encourage more people to visit a bookshop. The literary speed dating was intended to bring the idea behind it to life, as books can say a lot about their readers.

Around 60 participants were asked to bring along their favorite book. On the one hand, the book served as a selection criterion for the dating partner, but on the other hand, it also served as a conversation starter and icebreaker during the evening, giving the participants not only the opportunity to get to know potential partners, but also to broaden their literary horizons.

As part of the campaign, three commercials were filmed in which a dialog is conducted via book titles. To promote speed dating, one of the spots tells the story of two people who meet and talk at the speed dating event. Two other spots focus on a coming out and global current affairs. Print subjects on current topics were also realized.
