Mission Anniversary: Valencia celebrates 20th birthday

Valencia Kommunikation took around 300 customers, employees and friends on a "Mission Anniversary" to celebrate its 20th anniversary on September 5. True to the motto, the crew welcomed their guests dressed in blue overalls at the club "Das Viertel" in Basel, which was transformed into a space station for one evening.

Valencia Communication celebrated the birthday not in Spain, but in space, so to speak. Of course, the home country was not forgotten: On the sun terrace, the agency fed its guests with Spanish specialties such as tortilla, paella Valenciana and grilled dishes. Despite the already somewhat autumnal temperatures, the agency and its guests celebrated with music and drinks until the early morning hours.

Since its founding in 1999, at that time still with five employees at the Muttenz location, the agency has developed in 20 years into one of the largest full-service agencies in Switzerland - with around 80 employees at the Basel and Zurich locations. In the meantime, the agency has become a real group: With Cab and Nueva, two subsidiaries have joined that are at home in the digital world. Valencia is also strengthening its digital expertise with a strategic investment in the startup Your Sidekicks. "We don't just go along with changes in the industry and innovations, we drive them forward," says Michael Gerber, CEO of Valencia Communication.

Serviceplan promotes digital security the Swiss way for Credit Suisse

As residents of one of the safest countries in the world, the Swiss are very security-conscious—both online and offline. In a campaign for Credit Suisse, Serviceplan highlights the high security standards of the major bank’s online and mobile banking services.

CS_Digital_Offering_Velo_d_NEU

The campaign focuses on the overcautiousness of many Swiss people - whether it's the man who locks his bike himself in the garage, the woman who opens public transport doors with her elbow, or the person who double-checks that he really has locked the front door. Credit Suisse wants to convey that optimum security is guaranteed for every online and mobile banking session using the very latest technology.

The ads, banners, video ads and social media posts have been on display throughout Switzerland for a month since the beginning of September.

Geneva judiciary backs Tamedia in dispute against Maudet

A Geneva court has upheld Tamedia’s position in the dispute over a right of reply sought by Pierre Maudet. The Geneva State Council had requested a different version of a report that appeared in the *Tages-Anzeiger* in November 2018.

maudet-tagi

The controversial article entitled "Maudet's critic must remain silent" was about a journalist from the French-speaking Swiss radio station RTS who was on sick leave and had been researching the State Councillor's trip to Abu Dhabi. According to the article, Maudet had "difficulties with the journalist's critical curiosity", which is why he intervened with the editor-in-chief of RTS.

After the report was published, the FDP politician demanded a counterstatement, which the newspaper rejected in the form requested. As no agreement was reached, a civil court in the canton of Geneva had to deal with the case (Werbewoche.ch reported).

The court has now ruled in favor of the newspaper's position that the counterstatement text could not have been published in Maudet's original version, as Tamedia wrote in a press release on Tuesday. According to Tamedia, the court ordered a total of six changes to the text.

Counterstatement published

Tamedia describes the fact that the court has removed "an unsubstantiated, reputationally damaging accusation" against the journalist from French-speaking Switzerland from Maudet's text as the most important success. With the changes ordered by the court, the counterstatement complies with current standards, Tamedia emphasizes. The amended version was published in the online edition of the newspaper on Tuesday.

In the article, Maudet states that he was accused of having put the journalist under pressure, either directly or with the help of his entourage, in order to silence her. These accusations are unfounded.
"I have never tried to influence anyone at RTS directly or indirectly," writes Maudet. If he had contacted the editor-in-chief of RTS radio about a program, it was because the journalist had not confronted him with information before publishing it.

The editors write that they stand by their presentation. (SDA)

Branders implements new brand identity and omnichannel campaign for Sanitas

As the new lead agency, Branders is launching a distinctive brand identity and an emotional omnichannel campaign for Sanitas under the communication theme «Together for Your Health» as a first step.

02_BrandersMM_Sanitas

Since spring 2019, Branders is the new lead agency of Sanitas and, as a creative consultancy, manages strategy, branding, brand communication and advertising for the health insurance company.

In close collaboration with the Sanitas team, a differentiating brand identity and an emotional omnichannel campaign have been created over the past few months under the communicative guiding idea of "Together for your health. In the new brand identity, the duo-tonality of the unchanged Sanitas logo is used to create a play of contrasts that symbolizes togetherness and closeness to customers and people. A revised color palette makes the brand appear younger and more agile; the typography is larger and shorter. Various Sanitas digital applications are being gently revised and adapted in line with the new look.

05_BrandersMM_Sanitas

A TV spot, conceived and shot in collaboration with Dutch director Bram van Alphen, introduces Switzerland to the new Sanitas and its attitude of togetherness. In addition to the 45-second image spot, various 10-second performance spots with specific sales themes are used. A widely distributed DOOH campaign draws attention to the health insurance company's range of services.

On the digital channels, various landing pages pick up potential customers exactly at the topic relevant to them; a comprehensive retargeting strategy leads once more interested parties to the appropriate offer. Megaposters, live communications, various social media measures and targeted SEA round off the media mix.

Conception, support and implementation of the media strategy for classic, digital and social originates from Mediaschneider. Webrepublic is responsible for the online concept and the production of interactive branding and performance banners as well as the implementation of social media ads, sitebar and scratch ads.

Questions and answers on websites have a positive effect on purchasing behavior

Bazaarvoice’s Shopper Experience Index shows that mobile traffic to brand and retailer websites continues to grow. In addition, Q&A sections on websites have a positive impact on customer purchasing behavior. They lead to a 114 percent higher conversion rate and a 120 percent increase in revenue per visitor.

baaarvoice-shopper-experience-index

57 percent of page views across the entire Bazaarvoice network were via mobile devices. This continues the upward trend of recent years. The conversion rate for mobile users interacting with user-generated content is 136 percent. However, the interaction rate for desktop users is 116% higher than for mobile users. This is where brands and retailers can start to create a mobile shopping experience that encourages purchases.

When customers interact with questions and answers on leading websites, the conversion rate increases by 114 percent and the revenue per visitor by 120 percent. The exchange signals to shoppers that their voice is heard and respected. This creates a bond that pays off. 91 percent of German brands and retailers that offer questions and answers on their product pages emphasize that they see this as a decisive factor for the company's success. 45 percent want to make the establishment of Q&As a priority in the future. However, 50 percent of those surveyed also stated that they lack employees for this.

One possible solution here is a partnership between brands and retailers: brands are perceived as authorities for their products, receive more questions and answer them 67% more often than retailers, who only answer 23% of questions. Through cooperation between brands and retailers, both sides can experience benefits such as greater trust, stronger customer loyalty and increased conversions.

44% of consumers surveyed say they are frustrated when websites do not deliver relevant personalized experiences. In addition, 38 percent do not return to an online retailer's website if it recommends products that are of no interest to them.

In order to create an individual customer experience that has a positive impact on purchasing behaviour, brands and retailers must provide their customers with data-driven, personalized experiences in the future. 81% of Bazaarvoice customers want to prioritize the personalization of offers and recommendations on their product pages in the coming year.

"The retail landscape has continued to change over the past year as modern consumers seek unique shopping experiences, new channels and a higher level of authenticity and interaction. Brands and retailers that recognize these changing preferences and offer informative and interactive online and offline experiences can retain existing customers and attract new ones," comments Tobias Stelzer, Head of Sales Dach & Benelux at Bazaarvoice, on the results.

This year's Shopper Experience Index by Bazaarvoice provides an overview of how consumers interact with brands and retailers today and what companies can do to be prepared for the changes brought about by digitalization. The report surveyed more than 2000 consumers in the UK, US, France and Germany. The findings are also based on insights and strategies from 500 Bazaarvoice clients worldwide and consumer shopping behavior on over 6000 brand and retail websites in the Bazaarvoice network.

The new job function in Google Search is live

With the new Job feature, users will now see job postings relevant to them displayed directly in the search results.

google-jobsuche

To launch the new function, Google is working with various job platforms, including Medienjobs.ch, Ictjobs.ch, Jobcloud, Jobchannel, Ostjob.ch, Pospective Media Services PMS and Yousty.

"It can be difficult to find a job. That's why we've worked with Swiss job providers to provide a better experience on Google Search. By working with local partners, job seekers can now search for more relevant Swiss jobs and access helpful information on employer reviews and how to apply," says Nadine Gerspacher, Partnerships Lead for Search EMEA.

Davide Villa, CEO of JobCloud, says of the new job function: "We expect the partnership with Google to benefit customers and users of all our JobCloud portals. Together we will achieve a greater reach and higher visibility for our job advertisements. Added value that benefits job seekers and our 30,000 customers."

Filter settings, e-mail notifications and Google Maps integration

If users now search for "jobs near me", "baker job advertisement" or similar terms, they will receive a preview of job advertisements that have been published on partner sites in an overview at the top of the search results. By clicking on a job, they receive further information such as the description and experience reports on the company and the job itself.

In order to meet the individual requirements and skills of those searching and to display the most relevant jobs possible, users can use filter settings to refine the results. Options such as part-time or full-time, preferred city and sector are available to them. By linking to Google Maps, registered users can also see how long it would take them to reach the job shown from their current position or a selected location.

To stay informed about new, relevant job advertisements, they can also set up an e-mail notification and save the search, including the filter settings, in an individual tab that is available across all devices. If the user wants to apply, a link within the job advertisement takes them to the partner website where the job is advertised and they can start the application process there. Experience has shown that this increases the organic access rate for partners, and employers benefit from a higher reach for their job advertisement.

Job function in Google Search supports people in their job search

The job function was launched in the USA back in 2017. It is now available in 92 countries, including Canada, the UK and Germany. The expansion in Google Search supports Google's goal of contributing to digital education. This also includes the free online and on-site training courses offered by Google Atelier Digital throughout Switzerland, which focus on the topics of digitalization, marketing and personal development.

The new job function is now available in Google Search and is open to all websites that wish to integrate their job advertisements into the new function.
