Advertisements for air travel and cars are set to be banned in the city of Bern: The City Council is sympathetic to this cause. It makes this clear in its response to a motion by the Junge Alternative (JA!), published on Monday.

However, he is in no hurry to implement it. He would only like to accept the proposal in the non-binding form of a postulate and allow time until the end of 2026 for the review report.
To justify this, he writes that the current billposting concessions do not expire until 2027. The "YES!" demand could at best be included in the next concession award.
City councillors Eva Krattiger and Seraina Patzen are of the opinion that flying and driving "must not be promoted under any circumstances" due to climate change. The municipal council should therefore no longer allow posters advertising air travel, airlines and cars on public property.
Advertisements for vacations in distant countries, for example, should also be accompanied by a warning that flying causes serious damage to the environment and therefore also to the health of this and future generations. (SDA)

Russia accuses Google and Facebook of interference in domestic politics
Russia has accused Google and Facebook of agitation on Election Day and interference in its internal affairs. Just before the vote, campaign ads were disseminated via the search engine, the social network, and the video platform YouTube, the Russian media regulator Roskomnadzor announced on Sunday.

A commission in parliament will investigate whether foreign forces are attempting to influence the election in this way, it said.
On Sunday, around 56 million Russians were called to vote at regional and municipal level across the country. The ballot is seen as an important test of public opinion for President Vladimir Putin. Prior to the vote, opposition members had organized mass protests for fair elections, during which police violence was used against peaceful demonstrators.
The Ministry of the Interior emphasized that the election day was calm. More than 300 violations had been reported. However, this would have no influence on the election results, the ministry announced.
Observers from the human rights organization Golos also reported hundreds of attempts at manipulation and obstructions to their work. The Golos press spokesperson was arrested without giving any reason, the organization announced.
According to the citizens' portal OWD-Info, at least 16 people were also arrested, including journalists, a local politician and Maria Alyokhina, a prominent member of the punk band Pussy Riot. (SDA)
On behalf of your safety: MediaConsult advertises protective clothing with agent film
How do you get the word out about protective clothing in an entertaining way? Textile service provider Mewa and MediaConsult show the extreme dangers that protective clothing can withstand with a secret agent-style advertising film.

The script is not squeamish: dummies fly charred out of the toaster, dissolve completely in acid or glow in 900-degree glass. Every experiment that the lab manager demonstrates to the secret agent shows that Mewa protective clothing is robust. This is also necessary, as the agent is once again faced with a major mission: "The safety of thousands of workers is at stake".
The film was produced on behalf of Mewa by the Berlin film company Mr. Bob, with Geometry Global as the agency partner. The aim was to create a marketing clip that would present the supposedly sober topic of protective clothing in an entertaining yet serious way. The company wants to expand its target groups and become better known.
The film is being shown on YouTube and on social media.
Karling for the Fashion Days in Sihlcity: Discover your Style

The creatives at Karling have created a campaign for Fashion Days that celebrates Sihlcity's fashion diversity as well as the changeability of its people. Thus, the body of a model is literally used as a canvas to show the different styles that can be found in Sihlcity.
The highlight of the campaign is a wall in Sihlcity, where the different styles are projected onto a model by a projector: In this way, the clothes of the model, who is actually dressed in white, change every second. Furthermore, the idea with the projections appears on e-boards, posters as well as in advertisements. Last but not least, there is a radio spot that focuses on the Fashion Days styling lounge with a wink.

Which campaign from the past twelve months are you particularly proud of?
It's hard to say, because every campaign has something we're proud of, and at the same time, each of us is proud of different things. That's why we've put together a compilation of our favorites in this video.
The most important campaign in the agency's history so far?
At the risk of sounding like a soccer coach: The most important campaign is always the next one. While we’re proud of our history, we don’t let it go to our heads.
The most offbeat place your creatives retreat to be creative?
Unusual places tend to distract us rather than help us focus. That’s why we prefer to work in places where we feel completely at ease and can let our thoughts run free. So, usually, that means on the sofa at our agency.
What do you do when you have thought blocks?
The «Valley of Tears,» the «Wall of Failure,» or whatever you want to call this phase, is part of the creative process. If you haven’t experienced it yet, you should stick with it. By sticking with it, you’ll get through it. Or take two steps back and take the other path.
What is your agency philosophy?
We are both creative minds and doers. But we’re not philosophers, nor are we buzzword spinners who pass ourselves off as philosophers.
Tom Seinige, Susan d’Erlanger, Sandro Nicotera, and Alexandra Niggeler (from left).
Why should talented people definitely come to work for you?
At tbd., talented individuals can do what they love most and do best. That’s because we work as part of a network with freelancers from all disciplines and fields. We draw from this talent pool to put together teams that are perfectly suited to each task. No one has to do anything they’re not good at. That’s probably one reason why so many talented people join us without us having to convince them.
How long do employees stay on average?
It may come as a surprise, but it’s true: We don’t have a permanent staff, and yet we have virtually no turnover—much less than we’ve experienced at traditional agencies. All the freelance teams we put together for clients are very happy to stay with us for as long as possible.
How high are the wages you pay compared to the industry average?
Not only do we pay our freelancers a fair wage, but we also pay them on time—which, it seems, is rather unusual. We don’t pay ourselves nearly enough.
How long do you get maternity leave and how long paternity leave?
Taking care of your mother or father is only natural. Everyone gets as much time off as they need for that. The same goes for the kids.
Is home office allowed - and if so, how often?
At our company, we allow not only working from home but also working from anywhere. Basically, anything that makes work more enjoyable and boosts productivity.
What is the current quota of women?
50 percent, of course.
Do you employ interns?
In principle, yes; at the moment, no. Anyone who would like to change that is welcome to get in touch.
Do you organize team events?
At the end of March, we hold our agency’s first summer party of the year. Freelancers of all kinds are invited. And to our great delight, we get to spend more money each year on the growing number of food and drink orders.
Do you have an agency dog or other mascot?
Isla really wows us. She's both at once.
Where do you drink your after-work beer?
Fortunately, our agency is located on the sunny corner of Weststraße and Zweierstraße. That’s why, at the end of the workday, we like to set up the folding table in front of the entrance and marvel at how quickly a crowd gathers at tbd. It can take a little longer with people we haven’t met before.
Dachcom brings Swiss culture to life online
The agency Dachcom developed the new websites for the Swiss National Museum.

Three museums and the Collection Center are united under the umbrella of the Swiss National Museum. The museums present Swiss history from its beginnings to the present day and make Swiss identity, history and culture accessible in all its diversity - also with constantly changing exhibitions on current topics.
Dachcom won the pitch for the new development of the Swiss National Museum's web platforms at the end of 2018. Both the overall website of the National Museum and the individual platforms of the individual museums were completely redeveloped and technically implemented. Care was taken to ensure that, on the one hand, a clear group affiliation is recognizable, while on the other hand, the individual museums retain their own character. This resulted in new appearances for the websites Nationalmuseum.ch, National Museum.ch, Chateaudeprangins.ch, Forumschwyz.ch and Collection center.ch.
The aim of the comprehensive web project, which involved several customer workshops and a UX test at Dachcom, was to completely renew the Swiss National Museum's web presence - in terms of technology, design and user experience. The diverse stakeholder groups, from young to old, should be targeted and all relevant information should be found quickly and easily on the websites.
For this reason, the diverse offerings of the individual museums have now been bundled into clearly arranged agendas and can be accessed directly via a filter on the homepage. From a technical perspective, there are seven languages on the web platforms, four of which are fully translated and three partially translated. The museum app of the National Museum Zurich seamlessly accesses the data on the websites, which will also be optimized for all people with disabilities - such as people with impaired vision - in the near future.

At the same time, we are also focusing on the exploitation of commercial rights to national leagues and the future development and marketing of event and championship formats with a national character. Federal Council to launch campaign against sexism
The Federal Council plans to launch a prevention campaign against sexism. In doing so, it is responding to a request from Green Party President Regula Rytz, who called for the campaign in a motion.

September 8, 2019
The prevention campaign is to last several years and be disseminated via various channels such as social media, posters, advertisements and cinema spots. It will also be implemented in collaboration with the cantons, business, civil society, education and culture in order to achieve the broadest possible impact.
The motion author justifies her request with a "current" study by Amnesty International, according to which 59% of women in Switzerland have experienced sexual harassment. One in five women had experienced unwanted sexual acts under criminal law and 61% of young women were insulted or sexually humiliated on social media because of their physical appearance.
As part of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (Cedaw), Switzerland has committed itself to taking measures to eliminate practices based on stereotypical role models. Despite these efforts, discrimination has not diminished - bans on sexist advertising, raising awareness among managers and mediation bodies are not enough.
The Federal Council is asking Parliament to adopt the motion. The National Council will be the first chamber to discuss whether it supports a campaign against sexism. (SDA)
The ten best stories for a blogger magazine
Graubünden Ferien lets bloggers write a travel magazine. From around 200 submitted article ideas, the ten best have been determined. The research trips in Graubünden will begin this month.

What have you always wanted to experience in Graubünden to report about it in text and pictures? With this question, Graubünden Ferien turned to bloggers from German-speaking countries this spring. This was prompted by the idea of a travel magazine, written by authors who usually publish online. The intention to print their experiences on paper and thus give a readership the opportunity to dive even deeper into the stories was well received.
Over 150 bloggers applied as authors and photographers for the magazine and submitted a total of around 200 proposals. Ten ideas will now be put into practice. Jana Zieseniss from the German travel blog "Sonne & Wolke" is an ambassador for the project and has also come up with an idea: "We all have a few crazy travel ideas in our heads. Things that we would like to do at some point in our lives. What if someday could be now?"
Over ten passes and to five aborigines
The first research trip starts this month. From Chur to Chur - over ten passes - is the extraordinary road trip, about which you can read in the magazine. The outcome of another story is still open, as "On the road with chance" takes us through Graubünden. "Hardcore Detox", on the other hand, is the goal of a journey into the absolute "offline". Which Graubünden village will be visited for this is not yet revealed. The Piz Bernina high altitude tour leads to the roof of the Eastern Alps. Secrets and treasures are at the center of two stories about the speciality capuns and about mining in the mountains.
Eye to eye with the five oldest Grisons animals - ibex, deer, bearded vulture, chamois and marmot - will probably be just as much an experience as the Winter Olympics "en famille". In the latter, a family from the German lowlands dares to test the snow. Another story tells of forgotten ski resorts or what has become of them. Last but not least, a journey with the camera in the footsteps of the architect Peter Zumthor promises new views and insights.
Many stories to tell
The travel magazine will be published in November 2020 and will be included with the Transhelvetica magazine, among others. Martin Vincenz, CEO of Graubünden Ferien, is looking forward to the publication: "With the blogger magazine, we are linking the traditional and modern media worlds. It also shows how lively print can be. The stories are the main thing. We have plenty of those to tell." And with concrete tips for reliving the experience, the travel magazine builds a bridge from inspiration to offer.
