Blueheart launches campaign for timetable change for PostBus Switzerland

The Aarau agency Blueheart was commissioned to design a campaign for the communication of PostBus Switzerland's annual timetable change.

Blueheart developed a highly recognizable key visual for the campaign. The key visual in the form of a PostBus alarm clock is a reminder of the timetable change date, which should not be missed or overslept under any circumstances. This short, crisp and informative reminder is intended to stick in the minds of commuters and public transport travelers and to be encountered from time to time on the road or on social media.

In addition to the trilingual, national poster campaign, digital measures were also implemented for screen advertising, social media ads and a microsite. Blueheart also produced a short, informative video for online measures in particular.

Spina's Civil Voices: One with the lonely and homeless

Every year, the Salvation Army accompanies its Christmas fundraising campaign with a nationwide poster campaign. This year’s campaign focuses on a homeless man and an elderly woman who are receiving support from the Salvation Army.

To show how close affected people and the Salvation Army are, the creative agency Spinas Civil Voices has designed posters that make you look twice. Being one with others is shown by means of a picture puzzle in which 2 people "share" 1 head.

Inhalt und Form has created an ad campaign for Black&Blaze that plays on Donald Trump’s constant chatter on Twitter and shows that even he is briefly at a loss for words during a coffee break.

B+B_TrumpTweet

Black&Blaze's premium coffee is designed to provide enjoyable coffee breaks that will leave even those known for their loquacity speechless.

This includes Donald Trump, who has already used more words in his tweets since taking office than James Joyce in his 700-page novel Ulysses.

The advertising motif expresses this with a Trump tweet consisting of just three dots - visualized speechlessness.

The subject is to be used on social media as well as in advertisements and posters.

Nexum becomes partner of TCS for digital expansion

The Swiss Touring Club (TCS) is continuing to expand its digital activities and is relying on Nexum to do so. The collaboration involves the development of a modular microsite framework using a headless approach based on the Magnolia CMS, including the provision of a UI pattern library for the dynamic delivery of content and features across a wide variety of digital channels.

Teamfoto_TCS-nexum

The scope of services provided by nexum also includes consulting services in the areas of digital strategy, user experience and customer experience.

At the beginning of the year, TCS established the Digital Service Organization. The new department is being set up across all locations and strengthened with digital experts such as UX designers, content specialists and product managers. "The mobility industry is currently characterized by a high level of dynamism. As a modern service provider, we want to use our digitalization offensive to specifically expand and improve our service portfolio, whether through improved customer service or new digital product solutions," says Christian Zundel, Head of Digital Services at TCS. As a strategic sparring partner for digital platforms and services, Nexum supports the further transformation of TCS into the digital age.

Nexum's scope of work includes strategy, conception, design, prototyping and technical development. In addition to the inventory, performance and potential analysis of the existing digital solutions, the first step involves visual and functional standardization with the help of a pattern library and technical transfer into a microsite framework. The content management system Magnolia introduced for this purpose makes it possible to offer digital content faster, in a more structured way and via different channels in a future-proof manner.

Further expansion steps such as event and mobility tools, performance optimizations, and breaking down data silos are in the works to ensure a seamless customer journey across all digital touchpoints.

"We are very pleased that we, as a digital service provider for consulting and implementation, are able to accompany the digital transformation for one of Switzerland's best-known traditional brands. Our goal is to make the diverse range of services that TCS offers its customers an optimal digital experience across all touchpoints," says Nicola Schlup, Managing Director of Nexum Switzerland.

Payments with wearables on the rise in Europe

Transactions via wearables have increased eightfold in just one year. The Netherlands leads Europe in usage, with Switzerland in third place.

wearables-stockbild

The use of wearables for payments continues to grow in Europe. More and more consumers are using the relatively new payment method in their everyday lives for fast and uncomplicated payments. This year, the number of transactions using wearables increased eightfold compared to 2018.

The trend has successfully caught on in Europe: Payment-enabled wearables are now already available in 26 European countries - with a range of over 30 different devices.

In Europe, the Netherlands is the leader in the area of payments with wearables: One third (33%) of all contactless payment transactions were made there with wearables. The United Kingdom (18%), Switzerland (8%) and Russia (7%) follow in second to fourth place. This includes both active wearables, i.e. smart wearables, and passive wearables, such as wristbands, rings and normal wristwatches.

Top 10 countries in Europe for payments with wearables

  1. Netherlands
  2. United Kingdom
  3. Switzerland
  4. Russia
  5. Poland
  6. Sweden
  7. Czech republic
  8. Finland
  9. Germany
  10. Ukraine

Worldwide, the most transactions with wearables were made in Australia, followed by the Netherlands in second place. The USA takes eighth place. All other countries in the global top 10 are European. Overall, payments with wearables have increased sharply in Europe this year. The total number of European transactions was almost twenty times higher than in North America.

Technology meets fashion

As wearable technology matures, it is now the fashion brands that are ushering in the next stage of development in the market. They are designing wearables that are primarily high-end accessories beyond mere function. Currently, one in five adults wears a smartwatch or fitness bracelet.

By 2020, the global market for wearable technology will be worth an estimated CHF 33 billion. In addition, wearable payment functions enable a simple and convenient payment process by tapping or swiping.

Contactless catches on

Consumers can use wearables wherever contactless payments are accepted. Contactless payment has established itself internationally as a game changer in payments and is becoming increasingly popular with card issuers, merchants and consumers, especially in Europe.

In this context, the adoption of contactless payments continues to grow: 61% of all European in-store transactions are contactless, an increase of 23% since the beginning of 2018. Contactless payments in retail also increased significantly from 42% to 70 % in the same period. This strong adoption paves the way for payments via wearables.

Peter Bakenecker, Divisional President Germany and Switzerland at Mastercard, says: "At Mastercard, we expect new payment methods to catch on quickly. Consumers want to be able to pay faster and more conveniently, provided the service provider is a trusted brand. It's remarkable to see how quickly consumers are moving to new innovative payment technologies that fit their digitally connected lifestyles. Wearables offer greater convenience and simplicity while providing the trust and security they need."

Passive and active wearables

A wearable, for example a ring, bracelet or smartwatch, is equipped with NFC (Near Field Communication) radio technology. Once it has been linked to the wearer's debit or credit card, the wearable can be used to make contactless payments in the same way. There are passive and active wearables. With a passive wearable, such as a ring, the transaction is authorized by entering the PIN code at the payment terminal, just as with a plastic card. With active wearables, such as a smartwatch, the PIN can be entered on the wearable itself and the transaction completed by simply tapping on it.

Qmart will be managed as a subsidiary of MS Direct Group from 2020 onwards

Effective early 2020, MS Direct Group’s former Campaign & Data Solutions business unit will continue to operate as an independent company. The planned spin-off is intended to enable MS Direct and Qmart to focus more intently on their respective growth strategies.

MS-Direct_Qmart_Medienmitteilung-(002)-2

"For broadly diversified companies, it is increasingly difficult to stay ahead in all areas at the same time in a world that is becoming more and more digital, where technologies and market environments are changing faster and faster. Agility & flexibility are key here," says Milo Stössel, owner and CEO of MS Direct Group.

The spin-off is intended to create this agility and flexibility. Based on its core competencies of campaign and data management, Qmart is to develop into an end-to-end provider in dialog marketing.

Managing Director and Co-Founder are Myrio Kluser and Tobie Witzig. This gives Qmart an experienced top management team and, with Tobie Witzig, someone who is returning to the MS Direct Group. The current Campaign & Data Solutions team will remain in place.

Qmart will officially commence independent business operations in January 2020. The company's registered office will remain in St. Gallen and its head office will be stationed in Dübendorf.
