Coca-Cola is committed to a diverse Switzerland without discrimination

In the context of the votes on the anti-racism penal norm on February 9, Coca-Cola Switzerland is committing itself to a diverse, modern and discrimination-free Switzerland with an advertising campaign. The appearance is intended to spark a discussion about values.

Schweiz ohne Diskriminierung

The company uses its name recognition to address issues, challenge them or make a socio-political statement.

The company emphasizes that the campaign is not intended to be understood as a political position or even a voting recommendation, but rather as an offensive with which the company wants to show its colors for a colorful Switzerland.

Coca-Cola sees the offensive as part of a current trend in which companies are increasingly standing up for values and taking a position on current developments and commenting on them.

The campaign will be published in all four parts of the country, including in Rhaeto-Romanic and in various media titles such as 20 minutes, View and Weltwoche published.

All sizes welcome

RFSU and Saatchi & Saatchi have launched a campaign designed to raise awareness of the organization's product range and to help break the taboo surrounding sexuality. Among other things, a clever bus branding initiative was implemented as part of the campaign.

Saatchi & Saatchi RFSU

Riksförbundet för Sexuell Upplysning RFSU - the Swedish Association for Sexual Education - thinks it's important to celebrate sexuality, and to be a little more open about still-taboo topics such as penis size.

The campaign is therefore an ode to all penis sizes and shapes: The condom subject on a Danish bus changes its size when the door is opened and closed.

Department of Noise Talks About "The Future of Audio Branding"

On Wednesday evening, branding experts and other interested parties gathered in a relaxed atmosphere at the ZKB’s Freiraum / Büro Züri on Bahnhofstrasse. The occasion was the event «The Future of Audio Branding,» organized by the Zurich-based agency Department of Noise.

Department of Noise

The three speakers Ph!L!pp Schweidler, Florian Goetze and Silvan Forster spoke about the developments in branding with regard to the audio-only touchpoint voice user interfaces. The focus was on the observed shift from a rational view of a brand to an emotional brand experience as well as the associated opportunity to make a brand recognizable and experienceable with "sound". Interesting insights into the status quo of voice user interfaces were also shown: At Amazon alone, 10,000 employees work exclusively on the voice assistant "Alexa".

With over 50 people present, the event was very well attended. "We were both amazed and delighted that so many people were interested in the topic," says Schweidler, Managing Partner of Department of Noise, adding with a wink, "Maybe word just got around that Büro Züri has excellent event catering."

The event was musically framed by Nickless, who is probably the only person present who has a Swiss Music Award on his nightstand. Over music and finger food, the topics of the evening were discussed at length. All in all, it was a harmonious event without geek alarm, offering a good mix of information and entertainment, as the After Event Movie shows.

"Whassup" goes digital

Just in time for the 54th Super Bowl, Budweiser Canada and Uber are launching an adaptation of the iconic "Whassup" campaign - featuring bawling smart speakers, robot vacuums and washing machines.

It was almost exactly 20 years ago when Budweiser launched its iconic campaign featuring a group of friends yelling "Whassup" to each other over the phone. In the intervening years, the ad has been parodied by the movie Scary Movie, the series The Office and an annoying orange, among others. Now the brand has adapted the concept to digital transformation.

The spot shows what happens when two smart speakers talk about how much they would like to watch the Super Bowl. Other smart gadgets don't miss the chance to join the conversation before the owner bursts into the scene.

However, the campaign is aimed at something different. In a world full of smart technologies, there are still many people who make the wrong decision and drive under the influence of alcohol and drugs. In light of the 54th Super Bowl, Budweiser and Uber want to raise awareness among Canadians to choose a "smarter" way home.

Coca-Cola and Jim & Jim celebrate the #Mitenand eat

Jim & Jim adapted Coca-Cola’s global «Coke X Meals» campaign for the Swiss market. To that end, they produced a three-part web series featuring Fabian Zbinden, a prominent chef from Bern. To complement this, young food influencers were enlisted to create new takes on recipes and celebrate the joy of «eating together.».

Coca-Cola

Jim & Jim, an agency specializing in NextGen marketing, reinterpreted, conceived and produced the global food campaign Coke X Meals for Coca-Cola with a content-based ambassador campaign for Switzerland. The campaign aims to use authentic content and storytelling to convey how the topic of food brings people together worldwide and to show the role Coca-Cola plays in this. For the implementation, the agency relies on a marketing mix of "digital storytelling", "social content" and "influencer collaboration".

Web series realized with streetfood chef Fabian Zbinden

For this, Jim & Jim developed a concept for a web series that focuses on the topic of #Mitenand in three episodes, and at the same time planned a content-based influencer campaign that continuously provides the target group with seasonal, local recipes. The focus is on the entrepreneurial and innovative chef Fabian Zbinden, who was won over as an ambassador and around whom the short webisodes also revolve. They show Zbinden in his hometown of Bern and focus on #Mitenand on three different levels: The first episode, "Meet the People," is about his street food truck, which brings together even strangers with simple and balanced food, while episode 2, "Meet the Locals," portrays local shopping at the weekly market with various encounters of Zbinden's personal suppliers. The third episode, "Meet the Friends," captures a dinner among friends, including some familiar faces from the Swiss food blogger scene.

"Secret recipes" published exclusively via Coca-Cola's food blog.

The ambassador from the restaurant industry is supported by six food bloggers from German- and French-speaking Switzerland, who continuously create new recipes to accompany the campaign. Selected current topics such as regionality, new interpretations of traditional recipes, and simple recipes with leftovers from the refrigerator served as inspiration. Seasonal occasions such as cozy barbecues and Christmas baking were also covered with suitable content, as were some creative ideas with Coca-Cola itself as an ingredient. The versatile "secret recipes" were published exclusively via Coca-Cola's food blog, which Coca-Cola bottles promote at the same time with a QR code directly on their label.

Linking the analog QR code to the food blog as a central content hub complements the digital videos and photos that the influencers and the brand itself play out on social media, which also antecede the food blog.

SRG invests new 32.5 million annually in "Pacte de l'audiovisuel

On Friday, SRG and representatives of the Swiss film industry signed the "Pacte de l'audiovisuel" for 2020 to 2023 as part of the Solothurn Film Festival. An additional CHF 5 million will now be invested to promote SRG's digital transformation.

SRG

The agreement defines the framework conditions for productions that SRG realizes together with independent producers. "We have arrived at a result that takes into account the profound changes in the media, in particular the further developments in streaming platforms and the on-demand use of co-produced works," said SRG Director General Gilles Marchand in a press release.

The amount that SRG is investing in audiovisual production now amounts to CHF 32.5 million compared to the CHF 27.5 million in the last version of the pact for the years 2016 to 2019. The increase of CHF 5 million is intended to benefit Swiss television films and is also a commitment by SRG to continue to invest substantially in Swiss cinema production in terms of films, series, documentaries and animations. "Despite the very difficult financial situation, SRG wants to make an even stronger commitment to Swiss film in its entirety, which is reflected in the new version of the pact. Audiovisual creation is a priority for us," explains Gilles Marchand.

Online rights

For the first time, SRG will acquire longer broadcasting rights for the online distribution of co-productions in which it holds a stake of over 50 percent. This step is important in view of SRG's streaming platform planned for this fall. "Alongside production, distribution is one of the challenges that SRG must tackle in the digital age," says Gilles Marchand. "The SRG platform that we are launching in the fall is an important step in this direction and is entirely in the interests of our audience."

Specifically, the provisions of the pact include online broadcasting rights for the first six months. After that, SRG has the option of extending the period of validity at a special rate. SRG also benefits from online rights for cinema films at a negotiated rate, provided the co-producers give their consent.
