Trimarca and ZFV companies launch employer branding campaign

In order to position the ZFV companies as an attractive employer, the Chur agency Trimarca has launched an employer branding campaign under the slogan "En guete Job". Employees are being recruited via selected channels.

Trimarca

The developed campaign claim "En gute Job" is derived from wishing each other "En Guete" before starting the meal. The personality of each employee, the team spirit as well as the change and future viability of the company are to be depicted in the new campaign.

"The aim was to create a strong, approachable and credible image for ZFV as an employer," says Angela Tauro, CHRO ZFV Companies. "With the campaign, we want to introduce applicants to their real, future colleagues and give them an authentic insight into the world of work with us."

ZFV employees are part of this campaign. At the anniversary event for employees at the beginning of September 2019, the ZFV Family Days, they had the opportunity to say why they like their job so much and why they have "En guete Job". Over eighty employees took the opportunity to tell their stories off the cuff.

Advery develops brand identity for Kiebitz

The idea of making regional and organic products accessible to everyone at fair prices is what drives Kiebitz. Advery, an agency based in eastern Switzerland, was commissioned to develop the company’s entire brand identity—from the logo to the advertising campaign.

Kiebitz

At the forefront of the development of the Kiebitz design was the client's desire to stand out with a fresh, bold and original design that fits in with the themes of sustainability and the Bioregio range. The agency's tasks included developing the corporate design and implementing all necessary measures for the opening of the Bioregio store. "It was important for the campaign to quickly build up regional awareness and convey the message that Kiebitz is a new kind of store concept," says agency manager Stefan Grob.

For the advertising campaign, Advery has opted for an unconventional style of language that is retained in a wide range of advertising materials and is based on the slogan "Where organic meets regional". Themes such as regional shopping, unpackaged products, seasonal highlights and cooperation with local producers are very important to Kiebitz and should also be reflected in the communication. To this end, Advery implemented various PR measures and designed a newsletter.

The integrated communication concept also includes direct mailings using promo mail, the development of social media channels, radio spots and the website of Lapwing.

Media group Axel Springer intends to withdraw from the stock exchange

The Axel Springer media group plans to delist from the stock exchange after about 35 years. The company announced late Thursday evening that it would file an application for the so-called delisting with the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Axel Springer

Last year, the Berlin-based Group agreed a strategic partnership with US financial investor Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR). The aim is to grow even faster and stronger in the digital businesses. In addition to journalistic content, among other things, with the brands Image and World the Group, with more than 16,000 employees, has been operating digital classified businesses for some time. The majority of revenues are generated in digital.

In Switzerland, Axel Springer operates the joint venture Ringier Axel Springer Schweiz together with the publishing house Ringier. Its products include the business publications Handelszeitung and Balance, the consumer magazine The observer, the daily newspaper Le Temps as well as various popular magazines and journals such as L'Illustré and the Swiss Illustrated.

KKR already holds 45 percent

Shareholders have the opportunity to sell their shares to KKR before the planned withdrawal from the stock exchange. Specifically, this involves a free float of 3.6 percent. The shareholder structure is as follows: The widow of the publisher's founder, Friede Springer, and CEO Mathias Döpfner together hold around 45.4 percent of Axel Springer's share capital. According to the announcement, they do not intend to sell any shares held directly or indirectly by them in the delisting offer.

KKR acquired a large portion last year through a tender offer to shareholders. Together with accompanying acquisitions, KKR now holds around 44.9 percent of the shares.

Grandchildren stay with it

The grandchildren of the founder of the publishing house, Ariane Melanie Springer and Axel Sven Springer, also sold part of their shares to the US financial investor. Together, their remaining shares now amount to 6 percent. That is where it is to remain. A spokeswoman for KKR told the news agency on Friday, "The grandsons will not tender their shares into the delisting offer. They want to continue to accompany the transformation of the company." The Springer Group also confirmed this.

KKR is offering shareholders 63 euros per share in cash, the same price as KKR offered in its takeover bid last year. The Axel Springer share has been listed on the stock exchange since 1985.

In the fall of 2019, Springer CEO Mathias Döpfner had given an interview to the South German Newspaper said of the cooperation with KKR, which was still planned at the time: "It is a new era in the sense of a liberating blow. We can implement our growth strategy with a partner who doesn't think about the next quarterly result, but supports today what will maximize the value of the company in five years, including financially."

In fiscal 2018, Group-wide revenue was around 3.2 billion euros. Around 70 percent came from digital activities. At the end of September, the Group had announced that it was investing millions in projects at its brands Image and World at the same time as reducing the number of employees in the Group. (SDA)

Message in a box

A German animal welfare initiative is using egg cartons to push for new industry standards in chicken farming.

Industriestandards

An egg carton that is the same size but only has room for five eggs? The initiative "Less brings more" challenges the industry standard in chicken farming and wants to change it. Instead of nine laying hens per square meter (!) as is the case today, fewer than the current (German) organic standard (six hens) are to be permitted. This sounds more than reasonable. The initiative of Bioland and Demeter also wants to achieve that "organic" does not start with the keeping, but with the breeding. For example, male chicks would no longer be allowed to be killed.

The real-life boxes are currently being distributed to decision-makers and opinion leaders from the media, politics, entertainment and agriculture. Let's hope that the campaign achieves the desired effect.

Swisscom TV and Netflix expand strategic partnership

Swisscom and the streaming service Netflix are teaming up. On Monday, Swisscom will launch the Swisscom TV X bundle, which combines traditional television with Netflix.

Netflix

The industry leader wants to bring classic television and the increasingly important streaming closer together, as the telco company writes in a statement. "Switzerland watches three hours of television a day - and streaming providers already account for one hour of that. Swisscom is therefore bringing the best of both worlds to the same box and the same remote control," said Dirk Wierzbitzki, head of private customers and member of the Group Executive Board. To achieve this, Swisscom has integrated an interface that allows Netflix shows to be displayed on the same interface as TV content.

Swisscom TV X is available in two variants from Monday. For 50 francs a month, Swisscom says there are several hundred channels, 1200 hours of recording, 7 days of replay and Netflix Standard in HD, which can be streamed from two devices simultaneously. For an extra 5 francs, there is Netflix UHD and the ability to stream from four different devices simultaneously.

Swisscom customers who already have a Netflix account can transfer it to the new Swisscom subscription without having to switch accounts.

Farner for Arosa Lenzerheide: A comeback in style

Farner is promoting the "Comeback Pack" for the Arosa Lenzerheide winter sports region. The offer is designed to bring people who haven't skied in a long time back to the slopes.

Farner

Winter sports connect generations. Whether small or large, young or old: skiing and snowboarding is fun at any age. However, many who would have time again do not dare to return to the boards.

To correct this circumstance and bring back the semesters from forty-five, the winter sports region Arosa Lenzerheide has developed an offer: The Comeback Pack.

The combination of hotel accommodation, ski pass, equipment and ski lessons provides even the most indecisive with at least four reasons to give those rusty joints and dusty ski overalls a second chance and spend a few days in the mountains.

The offer has been publicized since a few days via an online performance campaign, TV and radio spots and posters.

Rainer Brenner leaves Wessinger and Peng

After six years together, co-owner Rainer Brenner is leaving the Wessinger and Peng agency to start his own business.

Wessinger und Peng

The separation was not triggered by disagreements, but by entrepreneurial reasons: "Text and design have not grown together within our agency in recent years as we had originally planned. Instead, both areas have developed independently in exciting directions," explains Brenner. "We were always open to this development. The decision to separate text and design was therefore the logical consequence for us."

Since January, copywriter and concept designer Rainer Brenner has been working under his own name, while the two graphic designers Yuan Peng and Jakob Wessinger continue to run Wessinger und Peng. "This means we are going back to our roots as Wessinger und Peng and will be operating as a pure design agency again from now on," says Jakob Wessinger.

During their six years together, Wessinger and Peng worked in Zurich and Stuttgart for various Swiss clients and were responsible for the overall appearance of the cultural publisher Trieste, campaigns for Galaxus as well as various client magazines, gallery and book projects.

Behind the scenes, by the way, they continue to work together. Rainer Brenner, Jakob Wessinger and Yuan Peng continue to have a friendly relationship in addition to their joint projects.
