Jung von Matt/Limmat and Frankly save private pension provision
The Zurich-based agency Jung von Matt/Limmat supported the launch of the new ZKB app «Frankly» with a digital-first awareness and activation campaign that encourages people to take control of their own retirement planning.

The fact is: many people don't really know who takes care of their private pension provision. Or they simply don't care. Frankly aims to change that. The ZKB's retirement planning app encourages the Swiss to take their retirement planning into their own hands - and makes this clear with the long-term guiding principle "It's up to you.
Through a completely digital onboarding, Frankly aims to provide quick and easy access to value-based private pension provision. Jung von Matt/Limmat supported Zürcher Kantonalbank with the launch of the app as strategic and communicative lead agency and implemented the campaign with various partners, including Webrepublic and The House.
The raccoon, banker of my trust
Although the topic of "private pension provision" is constantly on everyone's lips and is burning under the nails of the population, there is surprisingly little discussion of it. Here, the raccoon, the kangaroo, the alpaca and the marmot step into the light. Together and in different moving image formats, they demonstrate that you shouldn't let just anyone manage your private pension provision.
A campaign for all needs
The campaign's awareness measures include display, social, TV, and print ads, cinema spots, and OOH measures. During the customer journey, potential customers come into contact with the specific benefits of Frankly at various online touchpoints. Each benefit of the app is played out multiple times to the target group through retargeting and widely communicated as customized online ads.
Depending on the need, interested parties are referred to individual Customized Landing Pages guided. The landing pages serve as an interest-specific information hub and motivate future customers to download the app according to their needs.
Agile setup for volatile times
In view of the volatile economic situation at the time of Frankly's market entry, it is all the more important for campaign playout to be able to react to the unexpected. The core of the media strategy is an agile campaign setup that is constantly reviewed and optimized. The agile setup made it possible to launch the campaign on time despite the extraordinary situation and to adapt it to the currently prevailing conditions.
Prelaunch with microsite and interaction bonus
Before the launch, leads were generated with the help of a referral program. By subscribing to the newsletter and recommending it to others in their own network, users were able to secure various benefits. The more friends and acquaintances registered, the longer the period during which Frankly could be used free of charge.
While in the main campaign the Frankly website provides the most important info, a microsite with a personalized dashboard was designed for the prelaunch phase. The Launch event on March 19, 2020 was publicly broadcast via Facebook stream due to the extraordinary situation in Switzerland.

A digital pro cycling race of the Tour de Suisse - that's the idea behind "The Digital Swiss 5". SRG and Cycling Unlimited are pedaling together for the new race format.

March 27, 2020
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the sports world is at a standstill. That's why SRG is also focusing on virtual sporting events and concludes a contract with Cycling Unlimited, the organizers of the Tour de Suisse, to broadcast the new race format "The Digital Swiss 5.
The agreement will enable SRG's regional language broadcasters (RSI, RTR, RTS and SRF) to provide exclusive live coverage of this and other virtual stage races in Switzerland for three years until 2022. The first staging of the digital pro cycling races will take place from April 22 to 26, 2020.
Real professional cyclists race virtually
In "The Digital Swiss 5," the riders compete virtually against each other on selected stage sections of the Tour de Suisse on five consecutive days. The professional cyclists are connected to each other on their racing bikes at home by smart roller trainers.
While the riders see the original course sections of the Tour de Suisse and their respective position in the race in front of them on their monitors as a video image in real time, the smart roller trainers provide the respective resistance on the pedals - adapted to the real topography of the course. The virtual track simulation is supplemented with real live images and performance data of the cycling pros.
Cycling live despite Corona crisis
A large number of riders from the WorldTour teams will take part in the first digital pro cycling race, including some of the best Swiss cycling professionals. SRF will present cycling fans with their favorite teams and riders live on TV and via livestream on online platforms, despite the Corona crisis. RTS and RSI will also report on "The Digital Swiss 5".
Roland Mägerle, Head of Business Unit Sport SRG: "The virtual sports world offers almost unlimited possibilities. Under the motto 'special circumstances require special measures', we were able to move forward quickly with this exciting digital project with Cycling Unlimited. In these challenging times, I'm all the more pleased that SRG can offer the Swiss audience an exciting cycling broadcast with real and virtual elements."
Freiburg News introduces short-time work
Like other media companies, the Freiburger Nachrichten is implementing short-time work due to the coronavirus crisis. The board of directors cites the loss of advertising revenue caused by the coronavirus crisis as the reason for the measure.

Already in the next twelve months, the previous advertising revenues of around six million Swiss francs per year are likely to "decline massively", as the company writes in a statement on Friday. The outlook for the following years is no better.
For the Board of Directors, cost-cutting measures for the newspapers are therefore urgently needed "without delay". Freiburg News, The Murten bidder and Kerzers scoreboard on. The company has therefore submitted an application for the introduction of short-time working.
At the beginning of April, some of the staff will now go on short-time working, either in full or in part. (SDA)

Bettina Ammann, Head of Digital Communication at Valiant, explains: "Especially for financial service providers, communication via social media is not that easy, as many messages with content related to financial topics are subject to strict regulations. With Ads&figures, we have found a partner that brings corresponding expertise in the digital field and has optimally advised and supported us in this challenge."
Jung von Matt/Play creates awareness with recycling
The video marketing agency Jung von Matt/Play takes the initiative and launches the video recycling offer. The agency produces awareness movies from existing video material in its home offices and home studios.

"We are aware that not many new video campaigns can be created in the current situation. That's why we came up with the video recycling idea," says Michael Kindermann, Managing Director of Jung von Matt/play. Unlike the pure processing of stock footage, video recycling has much more impact, a higher recognition value and conveys credibility. And the solution can be implemented quickly and cost-effectively.
Right To Play - at home
Jung von Matt/play implemented the first video recycling project this week with the international humanitarian organization Right To Play (responsible: Rana El-Ladki, Communications Specialist), reworking the cinema spot produced in 2018. The resulting clips are particularly well suited for online and social media outreach, newsletter and direct marketing, and internal communications. In addition to existing clients, Jung von Matt/play naturally also supports new clients in recycling the existing video material.

With its national initiative Swiss TecLadies, the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences SATW is working to combat the shortage of skilled workers and, in particular, women in technical professions. The Academy receives support from Fanny "Shotty" Chollet and Rocket.
Together with the military pilot, a short film was produced that serves as the campaign's key visual and is broadcast via various channels. SATW and Rocket also designed various other online and offline measures.
The aim of the campaign is to motivate as many people as possible, and especially girls between the ages of 13 and 16, to take part in the Swiss TecLadies online challenge (online-challenge.ch). In the Challenge, the technical knowledge of the participants is put to the test. At the end of the Challenge, 70 girls in the aforementioned age group will have the chance to take part in a nine-month mentoring program. In this program, the young talents are encouraged, strengthen their self-confidence and pave the way for a technical career.
Digital alliance adjusts schedule because of Corona
In light of the COVID-19 crisis and the resulting slump in advertising revenue, the Swiss Digital Alliance has decided to adjust the timeline for the joint login project.
Editorial

March 26, 2020
For CH Media, the NZZ Media Group, Ringier, SRG SSR as well as TX Group, it is clear that the goal of a common login for users remains a high priority. Therefore, the alliance had decided that the time after the Corona crisis is better suited to initiate the next stages.
The aim of the digital alliance is to introduce a common login for the digital journalistic products of the media houses. Users only have to register once and have access to - currently - around 30 Swiss media brands. With a login designed in line with data protection guidelines, the media houses should be better able to respond to users' needs in terms of journalistic content and advertising. Following the voluntary login launched last fall, the next steps toward mandatory registration - with the exception of SRG - should follow in the coming months. The basis for this is a common single sign-on, combined with consent management functionalities.
The Digital Alliance will conduct its next situation assessment in mid-May.
These users deal particularly intensively with the virus online
Older users are currently seeking out more information about the coronavirus online than younger users. This is the finding of an analysis by Emetriq. The 40+ demographic, in particular, shows a strong interest in COVID-19 news online.

March 26, 2020
Interest in reporting on the virus is also greater among parents and users living in a partnership in particular than among singles. In addition, the consumption of Corona content is greater among male Internet users than among females.
For the analysis, Emetriq compared the surfing behavior of average German users from its data pool with those who showed above-average interest in content related to the novel corona virus. This means that these users accessed 12 topic pages on the subject within three days.
Corona interested are over 40, live in a partnership and earn well
A look at the demographics shows that 83 percent of users with high frequency of visits to Corona content are older than 40. Of these, 32 percent alone are older than 60. However, among 20- to 29-year-olds, the proportion is just 4 percent. In addition, parents (37 percent) and those living in a partnership (48 percent) are particularly likely to call up pages that provide information about their current situation.
Users who are particularly interested in Corona also have above-average incomes. Interest is strongest among users with a net household income of between 2,500 and 4,000 euros (47 percent). This is followed by online users who earn more than 4000 euros net per month (39 percent). Men in particular are very interested in COVID-19 news: the male share is 57 percent compared to the average user (49 percent).
In terms of interests, Corona High Interest users are generally much more interested in news topics than average users, have a stronger commitment to a sustainable and healthy lifestyle, and enjoy shopping online. They also belong more frequently to the B2B decision-makers group.
One in four online articles read is about Corona
In addition, the study examined what percentage of Internet traffic dealt with specific topics on a daily basis. The analysis of surfing behavior shows that content dealing with the Corona crisis currently accounts for around a quarter of total online consumption. By comparison, cooking recipes accounted for around two percent, politics between six and nine percent, and the cancellation of the European soccer championship less than one percent in the same period. The reading share of reports on the refugee issue was also vanishingly small (less than one percent).
"The data pool analysis makes it clear that current circumstances are also attracting users to the web who would otherwise tend to pick up a daily newspaper," says Nils Höckedorf, data specialist at Emetriq, about the results. "In particular, older and usually less online-savvy users with higher incomes are intensively engaging with the topic of Corona. For advertisers, this offers the opportunity to reach new target groups. The only thing is that the focus of activities at the moment should not be on sales, but on increasing attention. Brands should use their budgets to show attitude and thus be well positioned in the long term in a newly positioned market."
* The analysis of Emetriq Audience Insights based on the Emetriq data pool shows users whose surfing behavior indicates an above-average interest in the topic of Corona ("Corona High Interest Users"). This means that these users called up 12 articles/topic pages on the subject within three days. Due to its size, the data pool can represent the German Internet user community. Period of data analysis: March 15 to 17, 2020.
Migros will not be ousted from the reputation throne
For the seventh consecutive year, Migros tops the GfK Business Reflector reputation ranking. Zweifel and Ricola follow in second and third place, respectively. Rega once again tops the ranking for nonprofit organizations (NPOs). GfK Business Reflector identifies the most reputable companies and nonprofit organizations in Switzerland.

March 26, 2020
As every year, GfK conducted a survey in January and February - even before the arrival of the coronavirus in Switzerland - to determine the reputation of Swiss companies and NPOs as part of a population-representative study.
Migros remains the undisputed company with the best reputation among the Swiss population. Anja Reimer of GfK Switzerland is impressed in a statement: "The company achieves top scores above all with regard to its social and moral reputation. Here, Migros is almost five percentage points ahead of the second best company. In addition, Migros continues to be the company with which the Swiss can identify most."
Consumer goods manufacturers dominate the top 10
Zweifel, Ricola, Lindt & Sprüngli and Rivella are followed by four consumer goods manufacturers in second to fifth place. Zweifel made it into second place for the first time. All four companies are rated very highly in terms of rational and emotional appreciation. As in the previous year, Geberit is in sixth place, while Coop remains in seventh place.
Suva improved its ranking by three places and has now moved up into the top 10. Rank 9 and 10 are occupied by Landi and Emmi.
Demographic differences in ranking
Migros owes its top position primarily to its women. Among men, it only comes in third place. Here Zweifel makes it into first place, followed by Ricola in second place. Men also see the Swatch Group in the top 10, whereas women vote Swiss into the top 10.
In German-speaking Switzerland, Ricola is in second place after Migros, followed by Zweifel in third place. Ricola and Rivella are rated significantly better in German-speaking Switzerland than in French-speaking Switzerland. There are also differences in the assessment of Coop: while the company lands in third place in French-speaking Switzerland, Coop only makes it to 9th place in German-speaking Switzerland. In French-speaking Switzerland, the Swatch Group and SBB are among the top 10, while Rivella and Emmi are not.
Migros is the clear leader among younger people up to 29 years of age. Coop is in third place among this demographic group. Manor and Mobiliar also make it into the top 10. Ricola is ranked first among the over-50s, ahead of Migros.
Rega comes out on top again in the NPO ranking
Among the non-profit organizations, Swiss Air-Rescue Rega leads the ranking for the third time in a row, followed by the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation, the Swiss Red Cross and Swiss Mountain Aid. Karin Hörhager, Head of Communications and Patrons at Rega, says of the award: "The support of the Swiss population makes all Rega staff very happy. It is a sign of great appreciation for our daily commitment to the benefit of our patients."
Doctors Without Borders was represented in the ranking for the first time this year and immediately made it into the top 10 in fifth place. Fairtrade Max Havelaar, Spitex Switzerland, the Cancer League, WWF and TCS follow in the other ranks.
Mainzelmännchen advertise on ZDF for physical distance

Allianz and Sir Mary launch new courage campaign
In a new campaign, Allianz is encouraging Switzerland to be more courageous in the age of COVID-19. Instead of talking about insurance products, the campaign highlights the current situation in Switzerland. The commercial, created by the Sir Mary agency, is remarkable for its production style alone: it consists entirely of real-time footage from Switzerland.

In the lives of people and especially families, everything has changed since last week at the latest: schools and kindergartens are closed, shelves are empty, public places are deserted. How do you advertise in times of Corona? When people are even worried about toilet paper?
Allianz sets an example
Brands need to ask themselves whether they simply want to remain silent for the next few months or perhaps take on a more relevant role. At Allianz, communication around the consequences of the Corona crisis is not standing still at the moment. While many marketing departments are still discussing the issue, the insurance company is sending out a signal for more courage in Switzerland. Courage to stay cool, courage to fight on.
Responsible at Allianz: Thomas Wegmann, Thomas Jost, Claudia Staub, Rahel Habersaat, Simone Schmitt. Responsible to Sir Mary: Florian Beck, Andi Portmann, Pascal Baumann, Katrin Espelage, Tobias Roeben, Constantin Camesasca, Jennifer Meier, Julia Fischhaber, Jasmine Blötzer, Katharina Günther, Sofia Kaitala, Eticus Rozas, Fabian Habisreutinger, Nicolas Hostettler, Daniel Zuberbühler, Doity (Production), Andy Was Right (Footage Switzerland).
Allianz will be launching more topical spots in the coming days and weeks. The overriding message: never lose heart. The spots will be supplemented by social posts that are also intended to encourage people.
Andy Was Right and Doity provide authentic images
The campaign is intended to show images that are as authentic as possible. To achieve this, a production setup was chosen that delivers moving images virtually in real time. A two-person team of reporters from Andy Was Right in Zurich was brought in, in collaboration with the production company Doity from Berlin, which is responsible for the final production.
Digital and moving image boom "thanks to" Corona crisis
In the coming weeks and months, the use of digital channels will continue to boom in Switzerland as rarely before. The makers are convinced that good content and a tone that is appropriate to the circumstances will count more than ever. In recent weeks, the consumption of digital moving images in particular has increased enormously. The distribution of the content follows this trend. The campaign will be flexibly adapted to user behavior with programmatic media purchasing and targeted at connected TV, mobile and desktop placements.
The moving image campaign also relies in particular on innovative, post-linear TV formats such as Samsung TV ads, Blick TV or the YouTube placements, which have now been extended to TV. Further moving-picture reach is generated via popular Internet TVs, premium news and streaming platforms. Programmatic buying across all devices makes it possible to precisely control the contact dose per consumer in order to ensure the optimum frequency of advertising impressions across the board.
Compared to previous campaigns, significant efficiency improvements are already visible, including minimizing wastage and avoiding over- and under-dosing, says Sir Mary.
Other campaign was already fixed
Thomas Wegmann, Head of Market Management and member of the Executive Board at Allianz Suisse, recounts: "A planned campaign was already fixed and we had to decide at the last minute how to respond to this particular situation. Certainly not to simply advertise. Much more bring our brand attitude to life and engage in the challenging everyday life of our customers with encouraging messages."
Florian Beck, co-founder and Chief Creative at Sir Mary, praises the customer side: "Stop everything? Leave everything as it is? Redo everything? Turn everything over to Corona? I don't want to be CMO right now. All the more reason to be pleased when Allianz's marketing manager acts in the spirit of his own campaign: Courage means - right now - doing."
