Last but not least: Jeez, that commercial
A German musical organizer put his foot in his religious mouth with an ad. Nevertheless: Jesus has always been an advertising star and will probably remain so.

Cleverly staged or unintentional lapse? At the beginning of February, the Dinkelsbühl Summer Festival caused a stir throughout Germany with its poster, triggering (yet another) discussion about blasphemy and artistic freedom. In an allusion to the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar," the advertising motif shows the crucifixion on Mount Golgotha. The stumbling block is the notice "Get the best seats!" placed directly under the crosses.
Intendant Peter Cahn was annoyed by certain angry letters to the editor in the local press accusing him of blasphemy. "We expect a lot of tolerance from everyone today, but we also have to be tolerant with regard to our own faith. To throw around the word blasphemy in such an inflationary way I think is very dangerous," Cahn told the FAZ. But he also admitted mistakes, calling the signature "unfortunate choice". He had not had the association when the billboards were made.
Calculated provocation is often excused in retrospect as an oversight. Providing a talking point beyond the country's borders at minimal financial expense - presumably one is happy to put up with a few angry reactions. In the case of Dinkelsbühl, however, the lapse seems credible. For a cleverly staged PR coup, the whole thing - especially the typography - seems a bit too handmade.
It is well known that religion is even better suited than naked skin to provoke attention. So it's understandable that Jesus is a regular on the advertising subjects of this world. Someone is always upset, something is always banned, some medium always reports about it. Some examples of how Jesus - sometimes creatively, sometimes rather clumsily - has been used as a "bait and switch" in the past. (hae)

The Zurich-based company was founded in 1974 and employs around 50 people in the areas of asset management, fiduciary, legal and tax consulting. As part of a strategic focus, the brand identity was revised.
In an initial project phase, the foundations for the brand personality were defined together with the management and partners. The aim for Treuco is to position itself as a traditional and long-term partner for asset, trust, legal and tax matters, offering national and international clients independent advice and comprehensive support.
Creative Director Pascal Geissbühler comments: "The brand is becoming an important differentiating factor for the financial sector. The aim is to make an independent advisory experience tangible through employees and the brand identity." Treuco's advisory philosophy is reflected in its core promise - the new claim "Trust & Care". Treuco accompanies customers through various phases of their lives and businesses. Trust, personal support and the client's well-being are at the heart of this. The dynamic nature of the national and international market also calls for a suitable combination of classic and modern values in the brand image. This is reflected, among other things, in the logo, whose modern typography is combined with a classic pictogram that abstracts the letters T and C. The illustration concept, which is unique in the industry and features drawings by Hamburg-based illustrator Julian Rentzsch, reinforces Treuco's claim to independence. The new appearance will be implemented on an ongoing basis from February in print and online media, labeling and correspondence.

Moutier bans cell phones from classrooms

The schoolchildren deposit their cell phones in a box in the morning and early afternoon and receive them back after school, as Laurent Muehlethaler, head of the basic level (kindergarten and elementary school), explained to the SDA news agency on Monday. The cell phones also remain locked up during the breaks. The measure was not taken in response to a specific incident, said Muehlethaler. However, the "inappropriate" use of cell phones had increased. For example, a teacher had been filmed by pupils during lessons. Problems were also reported in the checkrooms and showers.
In addition, the number of filmed assaults ("happy slapping") is increasing. Although violence has not increased, it has become more visible thanks to new communication technologies and is circulating on social networks. A total of 680 pupils at three elementary school are affected by the seizure of cell phones during lessons. The measure is supported by the parents' council, the school commission and the teaching staff. (SDA)

The latest subject of the multiple award-winning VBZ campaign shows the cars in the Fraumünster parking lot, all wrapped in blue protective covers (affectionately called car pajamas by some). These protective covers are often used when the car is not needed for a longer period of time. Ruf Lanz has found another use for them. The agency uses the protective covers as an advertising medium to stage the VBZ slogan "Umsteigen lohnt sich" ("It's worth changing trains") with a wink. The motif appears as a double-page and full-page advertisement, as well as on posters and on the rear walls of VBZ vehicles.
