Ruf Lanz shows that Bank Thalwil is made of different stuff

The Zurich agency Ruf Lanz has further developed the existing positioning for Bank Thalwil and shows the result in a poster campaign.

Bank Thalwil has been a predominantly regionally active bank on the left bank of Lake Zurich since 1841, with headquarters in Thalwil and branches in Kilchberg, Adliswil and Langnau am Albis. For six years, the bank has positioned itself as "Die Bankwerker": reliable, energetic, down-to-earth and decent. Committed to the people and the region.

Ruf Lanz was commissioned to further develop the existing positioning of the "Bankwerker". Beat Ruch, Head of Marketing & Communications, comments: "The motto was to retain what we loved and to bring out something new. Ruf Lanz took on this tricky task and created a fresh appearance that convinced us all."

The result can now be seen on numerous posters: The pointed headlines in the newly carpentered layout show that Bank Thalwil is cut from a different cloth than conventional banks.

The bank also communicates its social, sporting and cultural commitments in the regional print media. With high-profile headlines such as "We bankers also support intellectual wealth" or "We bankers prefer to wear social responsibility rather than ties".

Magnetic shop window presentation? Richnerstutz makes it possible.

Who hasn't wondered if magnetic power supply would be possible? We're not there yet - but Richnerstutz is bringing magnetic power supply to the Swiss POS environment.

Wireless product displays help brands present products and exhibits more effectively and cost-efficiently. Without screws, grids or cables, luminaires, shelving systems and digital signage and merchandising elements can be positioned seamlessly on all MAGNWALL surfaces. Flexibility has a new name: MAGNWALL.

To position electrical devices and accessories on surfaces, magnets with the highest, scalable adhesive force are used. The magic happens as soon as a small built-in connector touches the surface. Immediately, electricity with a voltage of 24 V flows through the device and makes it light up, talk, play music or display media content.

MAGNWALL's product displays allow accessories to be positioned grid-free wherever one pleases on MAGNWALL surfaces. A luminaire can be attached to the wall in an instant and placed on the ceiling within seconds - highlighting elements as desired.

Here's how it works: MAGNWALL Richnerstutz

Customer Experience at the POS

With MAGNWALL, an inspiring, flexible and multifunctional environment can be created for an analog as well as digital presentation experience for the customer experience at the POS. The sustainable system saves effort and costs and also protects the environment, since the reusable products create less waste during redesigns.

Many years of experience with product presentations at the POS

Thanks to many years of know-how in the field of product presentation and the possibility of manufacturing individual MAGNWALL solutions directly in-house, Richnerstutz can offer everything from a single source and, if required, also implement expanding communication elements. The development forge from Villmergen leaves nothing to be desired.

Even during the Corona crisis, Richnerstutz's concentrated innovative power was impressively demonstrated. Within a few days, the CountMe people counting system was designed, developed and rolled out across Europe. And it is still making a valuable and reliable contribution to pandemic control today.

No less sensational is the commissioning of the first digital guest information system in the outdoor area at 3000 meters above sea level. Richnerstutz developed a special construction, which not only defies wind and weather, but also offers a worldwide unique resolution. The system is controlled by the award-winning software solution "Play Everywhere" from Netvico, a Richnerstutz company.

Sir Mary and Mona and Mateo launch Vision 100/100 for Ewz

Ewz is committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2050. That is why the energy provider has set a goal of making 100 sites across Switzerland 100 percent climate neutral in collaboration with its customers. The “100/100” vision is being promoted through a dynamic engagement campaign featuring Mona, Mateo, and Sir Mary.

How to reach the attention of 430,000 decision-makers from Geneva to Rorschach and the deepening among the core target group of 10,000 real estate professionals from Chur to Delémont? The overarching campaign motto "Who, if not you and us?" is intended to invite development in partnership. The continuous silhouette visualizes the green potential of the neighborhood of the future, from the redevelopment of a housing cooperative to the new construction of a commercial area. Energy self-sufficient, with heating and cooling solutions from lake water, Swiss wood pellet heating or geothermal energy combined with photovoltaic systems and electricity supplies from renewable energy sources for electric car charging stations to switch to electric mobility.

With Vision 100/100, Ewz, the electricity company of the city of Zurich, wants to consciously and consistently advance into the B2B world throughout Switzerland. In addition to full-page ads in the business and trade press, the digital focus is on premium display flanked by programmatically played out data-driven assets, as well as content integrations and a landing page with tracking concept. Everything is set up according to the "build-measure-learn" principle in order to continuously optimize the customer journey based on data.

De-complex should not only be the communicative approach, but also Ewz's energy solutions as a whole. From planning, financing, and implementation to the app that tenants and residents of tomorrow will be able to use in the future to monitor their CO2 footprint or the charging status of their electric Zoes so that they don't accidentally have to pay for their neighbor's Tesla Supercharger.

From Monday, the campaign can be seen in French and German-speaking Switzerland, as well as the landing page Ewz.ch/vision100 online.

How boomers are influencing the future of brand communications

For decades, digital brand communication has revolved around the younger generations—the “golden calves”—while older generations have served as the trendsetters in society. A Prosumer Report by Havas has examined moments of change and shows that brands and companies can gain decisive advantages in the future by adopting generation-sensitive strategies.

Brands need to strike the right note

When addressing boomers, brands need to leave stereotypes behind - because two-thirds of them don't want to be specifically addressed as "older". Indeed, around 75 percent of those over 55 believe that age is a matter of attitude rather than physical features. Accordingly, two-thirds of the boomers surveyed prefer brands that are not targeted at a specific generation. At the product level, on the other hand, this generation would like companies to tailor their products and services much more closely to their needs. For example, nearly half of those over 55 agree with the following statement: "I expect my favorite brands to adapt their products and services to fit me as I get older." For brands, this tension will mean finding the right balance between universal communication and age-appropriate offerings in the future.

Brand communication can overcome generation gaps

As early as 2020, the Havas Prosumer Reports revealed a growing divide between the generations. The main points of contention are climate change and younger generations' sense that their future - economically and environmentally - is in bad shape. While Millennials credit Boomers with the activism of their youth, a significant share are willing to blame the older generation for a range of ills, including resource depletion from overconsumption (40%), environmental damage (29%), and debt among younger generations (25%).

This discord is compounded by the fact that both generations are increasingly living culturally separate lives, which means that there is less knowledge about and understanding of each other. The younger generation, for example, surrounds itself largely with user-generated, global content and codes that are not accessible to the boomer generation.

"Brands today are well advised to address the tensions between generations in order to identify the greatest possible common denominators. This is especially true for broad-based brands - because with cross-generational themes, brands can not only help reconcile generations, they can play into the relevant set of both younger and older people," explains Sandra Onofri, Group Strategy Director at Havas Germany.

The Havas Prosumer Report "The Future of Aging" is part of a study that Havas has been conducting for more than 16 years. The report is based on a global survey of nearly 12,000 people in 28 markets, with a focus on so-called prosumers, the leading influencers and market shapers of tomorrow.

Tree Stones gives Caminada Treuhand a modern redesign

The strongly digitally oriented trust company Caminada has received a complete relaunch of its website on Pimcore. For the implementation, the responsible agency Tree Stones focused on people and digital media.

The goal of the redesign was a website with a modern and fresh design. In order to understand and optimally implement the client's wishes and goals, Tree Stones invited Caminada to various workshops.

In the workshops, the line of the redesign was worked out. One of the most important outputs of these workshops: With a contemporary image concept that shows authentic images of the team, everyday work and digital media, Caminada best appeals to the customer and lives up to its profile. A professional and at the same time human picture language, according to the motto: Away from office paper towards people and digital media. Johanna Unternährer from Janmaat Fotografie translated these ideas into professional images.

The photographer familiarized herself with the new website design before the shoot and was thus able to focus the shoot, which took place at Caminada, specifically on it. According to Tree Stones, the result is a convincing visual language and thus a successful relaunch.

Together with Johanna Unternährer, Tree Stones was able to give Caminada a convincing visual language within a very short time and thus celebrate a successful relaunch of the website.

Press Council reprimands Basler Zeitung for violation of the duty to consult

The Press Council has upheld a complaint filed by the Basel-Stadt Department of Health against the Basler Zeitung (BaZ). The newspaper violated the requirement to provide an opportunity to be heard.

The Press Council ruled in the case of a BaZ-article from June 10 of last year with the title "Lukas Engelberger abandoned the elderly". The article stated that most of the coronavirus deaths recorded in the canton at that time had lived in retirement homes, the Swiss Press Council announced on Friday.

According to the Press Council, the article also stated that an institution for dementia patients, which had requested help from the Department of Health led by Cantonal Councillor Engelberger at an early stage, had been particularly badly affected. "But the support came too late."

Correction

Following an intervention by the Department of Health, the Basel Newspaper issued a corrigendum on July 3, 2020. In it, she corrected that the institution for dementia patients had not been helped too late; on the contrary, it had already received a high level of practical and medical support in March 2020.

The Press Council had to clarify whether Engelberger and the Basel Department of Health had been adequately consulted in advance. The Press Council answered in the negative.

According to the Press Council, the accusation that Engelberger had "abandoned the elderly" was a serious accusation that implied a breach of due diligence and therefore illegal or comparable behavior. A general discussion on how to deal with retirement homes during the pandemic, as the journalist from the BaZ The conversation he had with the press officer of the Department of Health during his research was therefore not sufficient.

Instead, Engelberger should have been confronted with the serious accusation intended for publication. The accusation should also have been named precisely. Only if the person concerned knew what they were accused of could they decide whether or not they wanted to comment. In that the Basel Newspaper by failing to do so, it had breached the Code's duty to consult, the Press Council wrote. (SDA)

Die Werbekanzlei: Overall appearance and campaigns for Yapeal

For the fintech company Yapeal, the advertising agency, with media support from Drop8, developed the overall brand identity as well as the campaigns.

After several chemistry meetings, Yapeal chose the advertising firm as its partner. Among other things, because the agency has over twelve years of experience in this field and because the innovative, modular, creative approaches and digital know-how are essential for the area in which Yapeal operates to make a difference in the market.

"Another decisive factor for the choice was that the advertising firm thinks strategically, quickly and efficiently across all channels and can implement measures accordingly," says Andy Waar, CMO and co-founder of Yapeal. "As a start-up, it's enormously important to always challenge yourself, and with the advertising firm, we thus continuously optimized our overall presence over several months."

"The concept works with different building blocks, which can be played in a timely manner. From the webpage to social media outlets to campaigns, everything is coming together more and more. It's a process and the big picture is now emerging. We've been working steadily on the communication and look and feel, with input from the Yapeal community also playing an important role," says Patrick Varga, Managing Director at the advertising firm.

The puzzle was then completed with media agency Drop8. "With a comprehensive media strategy that included Apple and Google app install ads, Programmatic Native ads with device OS targeting, the use of first-party data for retargeting, and a campaign on Spotify, we were able to gather important data in an initial phase," explains Sam Lutz of Drop8. "The learnings from this were implemented in the current '100 francs for your 1st payment' campaign to capture the market for Yapeal."

Corona crisis slows RTL profits

The European television group RTL is facing a sharp drop in profits due to the coronavirus crisis. Operating profit (adjusted EBITA) fell by about 26 percent in 2020 to 853 million euros. RTL CEO Rabe sees good reasons for consolidation.

Revenues fell 9.5 percent to 6.02 billion euros, RTL Group reported on Friday. After the slump due to the lockdown in the spring, the Bertelsmann subsidiary benefited again from a better TV advertising market in the second half of the year and the final quarter.

RTL CEO Thomas Rabe reiterated that there were good reasons for "consolidation in the European TV business." "We are currently exploring such options for our controlling stake in the French Groupe M6 - with the aim of creating value for our shareholders." He added: "At this time, there can be no certainty that this will lead to an agreement or transaction."

Market value of 1.1 billion

The 48 percent stake in M6 has - according to the closing price of the share on Thursday - a market value of around 1.1 billion euros. According to insiders, French media group Vivendi, French conglomerate Bouygues, Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky and French telecom entrepreneur Xavier Niel have already expressed interest. Italy's Mediaset media company is also taking a close look at M6, a person familiar with the matter told the Reuters news agency.

RTL shareholders are to receive a dividend of 3.00 euros per share. For the current year, management expects an operating profit of around 975 million euros. This includes start-up losses of the streaming services of around 150 million euros. Sales are expected to climb to 6.2 billion euros in 2021.

Rabe has repeatedly pleaded for national champions and recently said in an interview that he could imagine taking over rival ProSiebenSat.1 if the regulators relented. However, the latter's boss Rainer Beaujean had largely given RTL the cold shoulder - despite cooperation on some projects. (SDA)
