Jung von Matt for V-Zug: The magic is in the details
The Zurich-based agency Jung von Matt is guiding home appliance manufacturer V-Zug into a new era of brand communication. The new Excellence line is being promoted as part of a global brand campaign.

March 9, 2021
V-Zug, a company based in central Switzerland, spent seven years working on its new "Excellence" product line. Highlights of the products are the characteristic and at the same time simple design, a unique, intuitive user interface, the networking of all appliances via the digital V-Zug Services as well as a high demand for valuable and durable materials.
However, the Excellence line is not communicated with a classic product campaign, but with a campaign that for the first time focuses on the V-Zug brand values. "The fact that we are communicating our brand values of design and sustainability so explicitly to the outside world marks the dawn of a new era of communication for V-Zug," explains Roland Graf, V-Zug Global Head of Marketing.
Magic in every detail
At the heart of the global brand campaign, which will be launched first in Switzerland and then in 14 other markets, is the message "The magic is in the details. Inspired by natural perfection, the campaign is intended to underscore the company's sustainable focus. Accordingly, the imagery of the campaign is also characterized by impressions from nature combined with design details of the products.
At the same time, the message also expresses what the target group associates with V-Zug: A love of detail that makes the ordinary extraordinary and helps to create Swiss perfection.
The brand campaign is played out via an awareness and consideration phase with TVCs and online spots as well as print visuals and digital ads.
Full service down to the last detail
The new brand campaign was created in close and collaborative cooperation with V-Zug. The entire campaign was developed and implemented in Jung von Matt's full-service approach. From the brand and communication strategy to perfectly coordinated media planning, efficient targeting, a state-of-the-art landing page, and the realization of the advertising materials, the agency provided everything for the national as well as international launch. In addition, the international rollout of the campaign is also managed by Jung von Matt.
"A campaign of this magnitude is not an everyday occurrence for us. The coordination of a large number of internal and external stakeholders and the coordination with international markets from Australia to France made the campaign an organizational and content-related challenge - which we successfully mastered by joining forces," says Roland Graf, V-Zug Global Head of Marketing.

Mona and Mateo promises proximity to Basel for BKB
The Basel-based agency Mona und Mateo has launched a neighborhood campaign in which Basler Kantonalbank makes a promise to its customers.
Editorial
-
March 8, 2021
Large banks are increasingly closing small branches and withdrawing from the neighborhood. This is also happening in Basel - specifically in the Gellert, St. Johann and Iselin districts. Basler Kantonalbank is taking advantage of this to make a commitment to the neighborhoods. Because, contrary to the trend, BKB with its 12 branches continues to focus on proximity to the residents of Switzerland's most beautiful city.
The tactical campaign developed by Mona and Mateo is a promise. Coinciding with the closures of competitors, employees of the BKB neighborhood branches address the neighborhood: "We stay in the neighborhood". On local billboards, with geo-targeting banners, as ads in neighborhood newspapers and on e-screens, the message is to reach everyone who does not want to miss the personal contact with their bank in the future. At the same time, the "Switch and stay in the neighborhood" campaign is designed to make the decision even easier for people who want to switch.
The campaign has been in operation in Gellert, St. Johann and Iselin since the beginning of March.

Lia Rumantscha demands more visibility for Romansh
25 years ago, the Swiss electorate recognized Romansh as a partial official language of the Confederation. Despite many advances in the promotion of the fourth national language since then, the implementation of multilingual communication on the part of the Confederation is often lacking. The Lia Rumantscha therefore calls for a more consistent use of Romansh in contact with the Romansh population.
Editorial
-
March 8, 2021
The Lia Rumantscha, the umbrella organization for the promotion of Romansh language and culture, considers the status of a partial official language important for the preservation of Romansh. Since the vote on the language article in 1996, much has been done to promote Romansh, which the Lia Rumantscha gratefully acknowledges. For example, the federal government translates documents of particular importance, such as explanations of votes, into Romansh. If a citizen addresses the federal administration in Romansh, the administration responds in Romansh.
More visibility
However, the Lia Rumantscha sees a need for action in the implementation of multilingual communication on the part of the federal government. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the introduction of Romansh as a partial official language of the Confederation, it is calling for more consistent use of Romansh as an official language at the federal level: Parliament, the federal administration and federal-related companies must make greater use of Romansh in their communication and contact with the Romansh population.
Specifically, the Lia Rumantscha demands that Romansh be used throughout Switzerland for all types of signage. This applies wherever the other three official languages of Switzerland are listed. In the Romansh-speaking area, Romansh must also be used as a priority for information to the population and this on all communication channels.
"If Romansh is not used in the national context, it is increasingly forgotten," says Andreas Gabriel, Secretary General ad interim of the Lia Rumantscha, explaining the demand. In addition to the consistent use of Romansh, the Lia Rumantscha would like the federal administration and federal-related companies to pay attention to correct terminology in connection with the national or official languages. "Switzerland is quadrilingual or multilingual, but not trilingual," summarizes Andreas Gabriel.
To illustrate how simple it could be to help the Romansh language gain more presence, the Lia Rumantscha published a short animated film on the social networks these days. With a wink, the clip points out a glaring omission in the use of Romansh.
Support in parliament
National Councillor Martin Candinas, Die Mitte - CVP Graubünden, supports the demands of the Romansh language organization: "A small language like Romansh depends on being present throughout Switzerland." The federal government is obliged to do so, he adds.
Confederation sensitized
Exactly 25 years to the day after the 1996 vote, the Federal Administration, namely the Delegate of the Confederation for Multilingualism, is launching on March 10, in collaboration with the Lia Rumantscha A campaignto raise awareness of the Romansh language and culture among employees of the federal administration.
