Propaganda launches "Culture is life" campaign

The Zurich agency Propaganda has launched the poster campaign "Culture is life." and raises awareness of the importance of culture.

header-MusicIsLife_A4_WEB

With the three themes "Music is life.", "Art is life." and "Film is life.", Propaganda draws attention both to the importance of culture and to the gap that the coronavirus pandemic has created in the everyday lives of many.

The temporary ban on cultural events, the closure of all related institutions and the drastic restrictions that are still in place have been and continue to be painful for culture lovers, artists and cultural organizations.

With this campaign, the agency would like to express its solidarity with all those affected. However, it is also intended as a call for everyone to act responsibly. So that culture can soon take its place in society again in all its diversity.

The poster underlines Righetti's election campaign leitmotif, which puts ideas before ideologies and aims to bring more dynamism to Bern's politics, which have been deadlocked for decades, with new perspectives. The cathedral, which rises into the sky as a rocket, is also a reminder of Bern's creativity and also stands for the University of Bern's world-leading role in the field of planetary research.

With the campaign, Simon Hofer and Claudio Righetti want to break through traditional patterns and focus more on non-voters, who still make up around 60 percent of eligible voters in the Swiss capital.

Our lives are becoming increasingly networked, which is why we should protect ourselves better and better. With the new "CyberProtect" insurance, Groupe Mutuel aims to protect Internet users from potential Internet dangers, be it fraud, identity theft or data theft.

The purely digital launch campaign shows how the dangers of the Internet become part of real life. This is based on one hundred percent analog construction and animation - without any special effects. The film set enables the realization of the two central campaign videos with just one one-take. A series of programmatic banners reinforces the media plan in parallel with the videos.

The campaign has been airing since Monday on the main OLV platforms, with DOOH and on social networks.

Brand as a management issue

How brand-centric management determines success.

  • Author: Jörg Bürkle
  • Publisher: Campus Verlag, 2019
  • Pages: 263
  • ISBN: 9783593509822

At first, dealing with your own brand in a corporate crisis sounds absurd. But it seems much more important to take necessary measures such as cutting costs and securing liquidity. At least, that is the experience of interim restructurer Jörg Bürkle. However, he uses many plausible examples to show in detail and conclusively how central the brand is, especially when it comes to managing and avoiding crises. An insightful change of perspective that helps to strengthen one's own brand and thus one's own company.

Doodle with strong growth in subscriptions and revenue in the first half of 2020

Compared to the previous year, Doodle reported a 99 percent increase in monthly recurring revenue in the second quarter of 2020. Despite the operational and economic impacts of COVID-19, the number of subscriptions rose by 74 percent in June 2020 to a record high compared to the previous year.

doodle-logo

Renato Profico, CEO of Doodle, said in a statement: "Thanks to a clear focus on product innovation and customer success, we have won the trust of over 30 million users worldwide, including many Fortune 500 companies. Over the next two years, we will invest heavily in the further development and innovation of our software. The goal is to fully meet the comprehensive and complex scheduling needs of business customers."

Deeper integration with Slack

In the first half of 2020, the company launched several integrations with Slack. Examples include the launch of Doodle Bot in Slack, an AI-driven feature called Book it! and most recently, the availability of Doodle Bot in Slack's Shortcuts menu. Since the launch of optimizations like Shortcuts and App Home, the number of polls created by Doodle Bot has increased by 50 percent compared to the previous quarter. The "Create a Poll" feature is one of the most common shortcuts in the Slack app.

This integration is proving to be extremely popular and helpful for business users. Most active users come from the education, technology, travel, and consumer products industries. With the new features, up to 20 companies can use a Slack channel together as part of Slack Connect. The new Slack feature is thus a more secure and productive method of communication between companies, facilitating collaboration internally and externally.

Kevin Owens new CPO at Doodle

As the new Chief Product Officer, Kevin Owens is focused on driving the company's business-focused product vision through 2021 and beyond. Kevin Owens has more than 21 years of experience in SaaS product development and business leadership. Previously, he was VP of Products at Reveleer, where he led the company's transition from a technology-based services company to an industry-leading healthcare SaaS platform. "I look forward to joining the company at this important moment as it evolves its traditionally market-focused products into a powerful, integrated and secure enterprise appointment setting platform," said Kevin Owens, Doodle's chief product officer.

"There are three key focus areas that we need to address if we are going to support the needs and priorities of businesses in terms of appointment setting. First and foremost, we want to find out what it takes to build team-based workflows into the product's features. Next, we're looking to partner with other software vendors/app developers to provide a full suite of integrations. And then we'll expand the analytics of our platform so we can provide business-related insights into how employees interact with teams, colleagues and customers."

Content and form and Michel provide more freshness in life

The Zurich-based agency Inhalt und Form has launched a cross-media campaign for the fruit juice manufacturer Michel.

Michel's cold-pressed Pure Taste juices are designed to freshen up everyday life in a tasty and fruity way. The new on-pack promo, which developed content and form for the Swiss fruit juice expert, builds on this aspect.

With many different freshness tips, consumers are encouraged to reach for the refrigerated shelf. Fresh tips from consumers are also in demand: as part of a competition, there is a call to share their own tips for more freshness in life via a landing page. Through a collaboration with 20 Minuten, the promotion is also made palatable to readers of the daily newspaper and news platform, who are invited to participate in the contest via sponsored content. Individual freshness tips are available on the landing page Michel-win.ch to see.

The cross-media campaign is supplemented by social media ads and POS measures and has been in operation since Monday.

Züritipp appears in a new look (and with Lukas Frei on the cover)

From Thursday, September 3, 2020, the city magazine Züritipp will be presented in a modern redesign and with a new content concept.

zueritipp

The previous, rather rigid structures have been broken up in favor of more flexibility and space for big, topical stories from all cultural sectors, the gastronomy scene and leisure life in Zurich. Columns, short reviews, shopping tips and recommendations for families complete the content. Of course, the agenda is also a must: This is presented in a fresh look as well as a new layout to offer readers a better overview and more organization. Key features of the new, visually strong magazine design include characteristic typography, color areas and recurring graphic elements such as highlighting, markers, arrows and legends.

Priska Amstutz, Co-Editor-in-Chief Tages-Anzeiger and Editorial Director Züritipp: "The relaunch of Züritipp was actually planned for the spring. Everything was ready, but then the lockdown came and the entertainment and cultural offerings came to a standstill. We are therefore all the more pleased to finally be able to present the first issue of the new Züritipp. With the relaunch, we have created a contemporary and independent magazine that is as dynamic and inspiring in content and form as the city we report on."

Züritipp will be published on Thursdays as a supplement to the Tages-Anzeiger, initially every two weeks. All content is also available online at Zueritipp.ch available.

Dan Schaefler becomes Managing Director of the newly founded agency ASM Nexion

Due to increased demand in digital fundraising and marketing, the social marketing agency ASM is consolidating its online services into the newly founded agency ASM Nexion. It is led by Dan Schaefler as managing director.

Dan_Schaefler_HD
Dan Schaefler, CEO of ASM Nexion.

With his many years of experience in the nonprofit sector, he brings a great deal of expertise to unlock future potential with innovative digital and cross-media campaigns for nonprofit organizations, according to a statement. ASM Nexion will work closely with the ASM Agency for Social Marketing and Comconsult to develop future and goal-oriented solutions for existing as well as new clients.

Schaefler has been working in marketing for over 25 years, ten of them on the client side at Greenpeace Switzerland and now for two and a half years again on the agency side at ASM. At Greenpeace, he was responsible for setting up digital fundraising, later responsible for all public fundraising, then for the newly founded cross-media team. As deputy head of marketing, at times responsible for over 35 people, he worked hand in hand with Sibylle Spengler, who is now president of the Swissfundraising industry association. Schaefler also led the pan-European campaign to protect bees and was a core member of the global team working to protect the Arctic. At ASM, he has now been a member of the leadership team with Thomas Peter and Liliane Eggli for two and a half years.

Gradual upturn discernible in the tourism industry worldwide

A study by Mastercard examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism industry and highlights the latest trends in travel spending. The first signs of recovery are beginning to emerge.

b2e7d4bdbe0e4208_featured (1)

Analysis of anonymized and aggregated consumer activity across the Mastercard network of G20 countries shows that tourism is recovering fastest in Italy, Russia and France. Australia follows in fourth place and Germany is in fifth place. Travel segments such as airlines and accommodations were evaluated, as well as leisure activities such as restaurant visits. Although Italy was a focal point of the pandemic earlier this year, its strong restaurant culture and extensive domestic tourism industry have helped it recover faster than other markets, such as the U.S., Brazil and India.

The global economy is showing the first signs of recovery and emerging trends, which are also reflected in the development of consumer spending. In this context, the shift to a smaller radius of action is particularly striking, as people are currently traveling more within their own country and also consuming there. However, there are other important findings.

8bb0405aabecfe48_800x800ar

The own region is preferred

Consumers are opting for local transportation when traveling. While car rentals accounted for 9 percent of total transportation spending in 2019, the share rose to 17 percent in the second quarter of this year, nearly doubling. In Germany and Switzerland, non-air travel accounted for about three-quarters of travel spending in the first week of August. This trend - to travel within one's own region - has also driven the development of micromobility rentals, such as scooters and bicycles. Increased spending on gasoline also suggests that people are once again leaving home more often to spend and consume outside.

Smaller hotels are on the rise

Travelers are increasingly opting for smaller boutique hotels. As a result, the global economic recovery rate of small individual hotels has recently exceeded that of large hotels by more than 50 percent.

8847039800225544_800x800ar

Private travel is largely responsible for the upswing

An analysis of spending on personal cards versus business cards shows that spending on personal air travel and car rentals is higher than that of business travel, returning to normal much more quickly.

"There is no doubt that people like to travel. However, we see that the way they travel has adapted to the current situation. Spending on gasoline, going to restaurants or renting bicycles is on the rise again. This shows that while the economic recovery is happening, it is focused on domestic travel and local travel spending," says Steve Sadove, senior advisor at Mastercard and former CEO of Saks.
