The new "Lifestyle" channel combines the lifestyle topics of 20 Minuten and Friday in its own lifestyle world.

20min_Lifestyle_Triage_DE

"Lifestyle" will cover the topics of fashion, beauty, body & soul, food, living, travel, cars and mobility, and wine, and will be aimed at young people with this mix. In addition to the daily online Lifestyle ration, a double-page spread will be published on Thursdays in 20 minutes and 20 minutesA special Xmas magazine is planned for Christmas. In the app, "Lifestyle" will replace the previous Friday channel. The lifestyle content will also be specially prepared for social media.

Refinery design world

In collaboration with the design agency Raffinerie, a new design world was developed, which is now being launched with a matching national campaign. "The aim was to bring together the stylish sister of 20 minutes to create. Through the consistent reduction of means - black/white and the use of striking typography - the page stands out recognizably from the 20 Minutes universe without losing the DNA of the latter," describes Annina Flückiger, Head of Corporate Content at 20 minutes. The edge-to-edge images also allow the lifestyle themes to be presented in a visually appealing way.

Channel is located in the corporate content area

In order to ensure optimal cooperation between the Lifestyle team, which operates separately from the News editorial team, Commercial Publishing and Sales, Lifestyle - as was already the case in Friday - is located in the Corporate Content division under the direction of Annina Flückiger, thus offering ideal conditions for clearly declared commercial implementations.

Kind regards and ZKB continue to go prepared for the future

Even unpredictable things can be planned—to a certain extent, at least. The «Let’s Talk About the Future» financial planning campaign by Freundliche Grüsse for Zürcher Kantonalbank is entering its second phase.

FG_ZKB_Vorsorge_01

ZKB launched its pension campaign at the end of 2019. In it, the bank positions itself as an ideal pension partner that caters to the individual wishes of its customers.

The campaign focuses on unforeseeable events in the future in an empathetic and authentic way. The protagonists are confronted with drastic changes in the future - without knowing about them at this point in time. For example, the quarreling siblings do not yet know that there will definitely be no conflicts when it comes to inheritance.

The second round now picks up where the first one left off on the topic of "Planning for retirement". With the focus topics "Inheritance and Inheritance", "Family Protection" and "Taxes", the target group is once again expanded. The viewer is invited to prepare for the unpredictable but plannable future with Zürcher Kantonalbank.

Facebook fights back against planned media law in Australia

Facebook plans to fight a new media law in Australia, just as Google has done. The world's largest internet network (Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram) announced this on Tuesday, aligning itself with Google's position.

facebookw-t

Australia wants to be the first country in the world to force the tech giants by law to share their revenues with the media. Specifically, this involves Facebook and Google paying money in the form of license fees for media content that is shared on their sites.

Facebook warned against this and argued that if the law was passed, Australians would be prevented from sharing news content. Facebook manager Will Easton, who is responsible for business in Australia, said: "This is not our first choice - it's our last." The law would harm Australia's media.

The government has been negotiating with Facebook and Google for months to find an amicable solution. Finance Minister Josh Frydenberg said that the law is of national interest and will strengthen the local media industry.

Australia's online advertising market is worth around 5.7 billion dollars and has grown more than eightfold since 2005. (SDA)

Scholtysik & Partner turns the Bürgerspital Basel into the BSB

The Bürgerspital Basel will now be known as BSB and is launching a new, contemporary brand identity with distinct sub-brands for its facilities and its service and production operations. Scholtysik & Partner is supporting BSB with brand strategy, naming, design, and implementation.

Scholtysik & Partner

BSB Director Beat Ammann with the new BSB logo.

Bürgerspital Basel is no longer a hospital, but a social enterprise for the care of the elderly and the integration of people with disabilities. In these business areas, the term "hospital" is a noticeable competitive disadvantage. The legal company name remains "Bürgerspital Basel", but takes a back seat in communication.

Differentiated brand portfolio

In future, the residential homes and care centers will operate under their traditional names with a BSB endorsement. In this way, the specific character of each individual home will be preserved, enhanced with the BSB quality guarantee and assigned to the umbrella brand. The 20 or so specialized BSB establishments will focus more strongly on their respective markets. They now operate under sub-brands such as "BSB Schreinerei" or, where necessary, with completely independent brands, for example in the catering or retail sectors. The situational co-branding with the Bürgergemeinde Basel as the owner is also intended to build trust.

Barrier-free and target group-oriented

The fresh, generous design and an uncomplicated, direct approach are intended to convey the BSB's self-image as an agile and hands-on service provider. It meets the requirements of corporate strategy, brand strategy, accessibility and target group-oriented communication in equal measure. To achieve this, strategists and designers from Scholtysik & Partner worked closely with specialists from various areas of the BSB. The agency's UX specialists interviewed the very different target groups in detail - from the very elderly, disabled people and relatives to corporate customers and specialists from the IV, judicial and social authorities.

Beat Ammann, Director of the BSB, emphasizes: "The new logo and the visual design elements represent our declared intention to transform into a modern service provider that is constantly changing in line with people's concerns while remaining true to its historically evolved strengths."

Jung von Matt/impact and Jung von Matt/Tech launch Facebook Playable Ad

Playable ads are the next step in the evolution of banner and video ads, allowing users to get to know brands in a playful way. Jung von Matt/impact, in collaboration with Jung von Matt/Tech, has developed a playable ad.

Jung von Matt

A Playable Ad is an HTML5 game experience that allows users to learn about a brand, try a game, or pre-test an app. In addition to high engagement rates, calls-to-action can also be embedded organically in Playable Ads. "Especially to promote mobile apps, Playable Ads are excellent. They increase engagement and return on investment," says Dominik Habermacher, Managing Partner of Jung von Matt/impact. Playable Ads are played out in the Facebook feed and in the Facebook Audience network of the target group.

Boundless creativity

Playable Ads combine hard goals, such as increasing conversion rates or lowering cost per installation, with limitless creativity in the design of the games. Variables such as the game's theme, mechanism, difficulty, playtime and, of course, branding can be customized. In addition, analysis of game events and defined KPIs can help companies improve their ROI via Playable Ads. "Playable Ads are not only entertaining customer communication, but can also provide companies with important insights about their target groups," says Dominik Habermacher.

First on the Swiss market

According to the agency, the Facebook Playable Ad is the first on the Swiss market and is available immediately. The first Playable Ads for Jung von Matt clients are already being implemented.

At the SRG Bern Freiburg Valais general meeting, which was held in writing due to COVID-19, 37-year-old Philipp Schori was elected as the new president. In addition, three new board members were appointed.

SRG

With the election of Philipp Schori, the members of the cooperative are making a generational change at the helm of SRG Bern Fribourg Valais. At the end of 2019, a working group under his leadership developed the "Strategy 2024". The strategy is a direct consequence of the conflict over the relocation of significant parts of the Bern radio studio to Zurich. Accordingly, it provides for the commitment to a strong studio location in Berne and the expansion of the sponsoring bodies' say vis-à-vis the media company. At the same time, the internal working methods are to be optimized and the board rejuvenated.

Philipp Schori holds a master's degree in political science and is a member of the Executive Board of the Conference of Cantonal Governments (KdK) and the Ch Foundation in the House of Cantons in Bern. With his election, he will also represent SRG Bern Fribourg Valais in the bodies of SRG Deutschschweiz (SRG.D) and the Assembly of Delegates of SRG SSR.

Three new board members, two depart

In addition to the presidency, the board had to be newly appointed for the term of office 2020-2024. With a large majority, the voters confirmed the seven existing board members and elected Asella Imhasly as representative of the Valais section and Bernhard Altermatt and Chantal Müller from the Fribourg section as new board members.

With the election by the General Assembly 2020, two long-standing members will leave the Board of SRG Bern Fribourg Valais: on the one hand, President Léander Jaggi, who was elected to the Board more than 28 years ago and as President four years ago; on the other hand, Bernadette Lehmann, who became a member of the Board in 2008.
