TBWA\Zurich and Coop ensure a magical Christmas with Nevi
TBWA\Zurich and Coop kick off the Christmas campaign season, focusing on the magic that only happens when we’re there for one another. The story follows Nevi, a lonely snow monster who finally finds happiness again.

Christmas is the time when wishes come true. But some wishes only come true with a little magical support. Like the one for a white Christmas. In director Tobi Fueter's two-part Christmas commercial, a real snow monster plays one of the main roles.
An adventurous brother and sister set out to find the lonely snow monster Nevi. After initial shyness on both sides, a very special friendship soon develops. The children finally surprise Nevi with a unique gift. The little ones' grand gesture manages to dispel Nevi's loneliness. And ensures that what everyone wants finally comes true: A white Christmas.
The elaborately produced spot is a mix of real scenes shot in Switzerland and CGI. Matt painting turned the summery forest into an autumnal, mystical backdrop for the snow monster. By the way, Nevi's character design was further developed by internationally renowned top artist Michael Kutsche, who otherwise works for Tim Burton and other Hollywood greats.
Specially composed soundtrack
The moving story is accompanied by the soundtrack "By your Side," sung by 26-year-old Argyle Singh. The song was composed and produced by HitMill especially for the commercial.
In addition to ads, banners, DOOH, in-store and social media activities, there is a special mega-poster in Basel that, equipped with a string of lights, sparkles in the Christmas lights near the Coop headquarters.
Audio book and painting activities
An audiobook with 3D sound effects, spoken by Jörg Reichlin, tells the prequel of Nevi and takes children on a fairytale reading journey. The audio book can be found on all known streaming platforms. Painting activities around Nevi and a dedicated snow monster game in the Coop app round off the campaign.
The Christmas campaign with the first part of the spot starts on Friday and can be seen on all channels.

"20 Minutes Now!" went on the air for the first time on Thursday, as 20 minutes announced. This is a new form of news broadcast that is consistently geared to the habits of young mobile users. 20 minutes belongs to the TX Group.
"20 Minuten Now!" offers a current news overview that users can either watch, read without sound, or just listen to. The individual articles can be skipped. The video news is embedded in written background information.
There is no moderation. So could 20 minutes finally meet one of the most important customer needs: not wasting time. In the past 12 months, invested 20 minutes around two million Swiss francs in the expansion of the video team, the studio and new technology.
The new format is intended to give advertisers the opportunity to communicate in the news environment. Declared video native conversions and advertising spots in the social media format are to be played out between the articles.
In the French-speaking part of Switzerland 20 Minutes is pursuing a similar project. A video team is currently being set up there.
Merging the story and video formats departments
20 minutes will merge the story and video formats in German-speaking Switzerland at the beginning of 2021 under the overall management of Désirée Pomper (picture), currently Head of Story and member of the Editorial Board. The merger is intended to promote 20 Minuten's multimedia journalism through attractive, new video formats, video reports on current events or light-footed, creative video content.
The teams will remain in the current constellation. Beat Krapf (pictured), previously Head of Video and Head of Video Formats, will assume overall responsibility for the strategic development of 20 minutes in the growth area of video and in this function will report directly to Marcel Kohler, who is still Managing Director. The Swiss Print Award Night is canceled

Print is a jack-of-all-trades. Anyone who succeeds in making their message seen, heard, felt and tasted with a perfectly crafted print product deserves the Swiss Print Award, write the organizers in a statement.
Now, unfortunately, the award night planned for November 18, 2020 cannot take place. Under the current circumstances, it was not possible for the organizers to host a light-hearted and at the same time "Corona-safe" event. However, the 13 winning works are not to go unheralded: Indeed, the awards will be presented on a small scale, the handovers will be recorded on film and photographically and shared with the public on all channels.
New magazine
In addition, the organizers will send out a new Swiss Print Award magazine to all involved and interested parties. The magazine provides an overview of the 33 entries nominated this year for a Swiss Print Award 2020 and tells background stories about the 13 winning entries.
The next Swiss Print Award Night is scheduled to take place on September 23, 2021.
Rod and FOPH show that we are all Federal Council
To complement the current campaign for the FOPH, Rod launches updated subjects and focuses on Alain Berset. The Federal Council, together with people from the population, explains what is at stake and how we can reduce the current sharp rise in infection rates - and why this is important.

The video resembles a speech given not by a single federal councilor, but by a number of people who are confronted with various facets of the corona crisis in our country. A doctor explains the importance of preventing health care overload, an entrepreneur cautions that the economy also needs our support, a schoolchild wants schools to stay open, a senior calls for the SwissCovid app to be activated, and Anne Lévy, the director of the Federal Office of Public Health, reminds us that we will only get through this crisis if we all stick together.
The video is intended as a supplement to the current Phase Red pictogram posters and repeats the rules and measures communicated on them in a warm, unifying, motivating and yet urgent tone. This is intended to repeat the central messages in a memorable way on social media channels and on television.
In addition to the red pictogram subjects with the message "Meet as few people as possible", the FOPH is now publishing additional motifs that will be used as digital posters and as online advertising media. Designed in the red signal color and with the iconic "Stop Corona" lockdown ribbon, they provide a reason to the appeal: "Prevent second lockdown now - Wear mask in public places."; "Avert health system overload now - Meet fewer people."; "Stop rise in infection rates now - Work in home office if possible." The promotional materials went live Thursday.

Real 21 presents media awards for the fifth time
For the fifth time, Real 21 has awarded the Media Prize for high-quality media coverage of global development issues. Tilman Lingner has won this year’s prize for his documentary «The Struggle for Land – Swiss Settlers in Chile.».
Editorial

November 5, 2020
Once again this year, the Real 21 jury of experts nominated five journalistic contributions that appeared in a Swiss-German medium. Now three of them have been awarded prizes. First place is endowed with 8,000 Swiss francs, the second with 4,000 Swiss francs and the third receives 3,000 Swiss francs.
Due to the corona virus, no award ceremony took place on site. The laudatios for the respective winners were recorded on video.
Reports from Chile, Mongolia and Tanzania
"Without bias and without taking sides, the author introduces us to the very different worlds and ways of life of the Swiss farmers involved in the land conflict and the Mapuche people," said the jury of the Real 21 Media Award, explaining the choice of Tilman Lingner. "The film is visually powerful and allows us to understand an intricate problem that began over 100 years ago and is still unresolved today." Lingner's reportage was broadcast in the program DOK of the Swiss television SRF and is still available in the media library.
Second place went to journalist Martin Theis and photographer Sascha Montag with the reportage "A Life in Extremes," which appeared in Surprise magazine. The reportage describes the story of a security guard in the capital of Mongolia who would have preferred to stay in the countryside. The author looks closely without judging. The watchman "stands for the fate of thousands and thousands of small farmers and nomadic herders in the global south. Climate change is robbing them of their livelihoods and forcing them into the cities."
The third prize goes jointly to Astrid Benölken, Hannah Lesch, Björn Rohwer and Tobias Zuttmann for the reportage "Transsexuality in Tanzania," which appeared in Team Magazine. The reportage is a touching portrait of a young transsexual, describing an impressive life story. It not only shocks and touches, it also gives hope, because the young transsexual did not let himself be broken even by a dramatic stay in prison. It rather awakened his defiance and pride and made him an activist who stands up for the transsexuals in his country.
The association "Real 21 - Understanding the World" was founded in May 2015. It is jointly supported by MAZ - The Swiss School of Journalism and Alliance Sud, the think tank of Swiss development organizations. On the one hand, it supports and promotes reporting in German-speaking Swiss media on topics of global development with a media fund. On the other hand, the media prize is awarded annually to three outstanding journalistic works. The media awards and the media fund are financed by contributions from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

This is what the organizers write about the 11 nominated apps:
Bike Kingdom App
With beautiful landscapes, great infrastructure and the new Bike Kingdom app, Lenzerheide is positioning itself as a destination for mountain bikers. The app offers everything a passionate mountain biker could wish for: Test of strength among users, a wealth of quests and challenges and all relevant information about biking in the region. And all that with understandable user guidance and modern design.
Catch a Flight
Catch a flight manages to make the user look up into the sky and generate wanderlust with its modern design and clear operation. The display and information about the launched flights is quickly visible and with one click the participation in the interactive lottery with addictive potential is possible. All elements of a successful campaign are combined here - a beautiful symbiosis of augmented reality and marketing.
Cybathlon@school with "Flexo
Using the exoskeleton "Flexo", learners are confronted with the challenges that people with physical disabilities face in everyday life. In several modules, they solve tasks together via app and learn to move the robotic support arm via code and joystick. In line with Curriculum 21, the students learn what barriers mean in everyday life and how digital technology can be used to break down analog barriers.
Felfel App
The self-service app from Felfel is an elegant solution for catering to office employees. The dishes are appetizingly presented and the app convinces with its high usability and appealing design. The icing on the cake, however, is the combination of classic app functionality with a practical IoT application: In this case, the app can be linked to the employee's badge and then serves as a key to open the securely locked refrigerator.
Frankly.
With Frankly, a rather boring and dry topic - pension 3a - has been transferred to the digital world in a very convincing way. The app is visually very independent and equally attractive as clear and reduced. The functionality is also convincing: A new retirement savings account can be opened in less than 5 minutes, including digital signature, contract conclusion and onboarding.
Mercedes-Benz 4U Kids
Mercedes-Benz 4U Kids impresses with a large and age-appropriate range of functions. The younger ones can design their own car in a beautifully designed 3-app and print it out as an individual paper craft sheet. For the older ones, there is a complete car racing game, in which the innovative use of augmented reality transfers a playfully self-created race track into a gripping racing game.
MyLivit
MyLivit manages to digitally map the tenant lifecycle. As a tenant, you get real added value - from the application to everyday living. The appropriate implementation of innovative elements such as the signature via slide gesture should be emphasized.
The myLivit app is a perfect example of when and why PWAs are a fantastic solution. Renters have contact with Livit four times a year - too few to download an app. MyLivit provides a frictionless user experience without a download.
Nirlab
The Nirlab app evaluates raw data from a portable spectral analysis scanner. It identifies and quantifies chemicals based on their spectrum and presents the results to the user within seconds - a process that previously took days. For this purpose, the data is analyzed and processed in the cloud using machine learning algorithms. The solution has already been successfully used by the Swiss police in a test phase.
Smartest Learning
The app ports analog learning content with mobile scanning into interactive practice sets. These sets can be shared and learning progress is logged. There is a lot of technological innovation behind it: The app combines computer vision with neuro-linguistic programming to extract documents and automatically create questions from them. The app's operation is fluid and very intuitive, and the roadmap shows how the creators intend to develop it further.
SwissCovid
SwissCovid impressed the jury with its development story, from a hackathon to collaboration with EPFL and ETH Zurich to the final federal app. But of course also with the technical solution to recognize personal encounters via a creative use of Bluetooth. With its simple design and reduced communication, the app gives the user a feeling of security and unagitatedly informs about the individual and national situation of the Covid 19 pandemic.
Typewise Keyboard
The Typewise app has the guts to improve one of the basic functionalities of the smartphone: the keyboard. With larger click areas, a faster layout, answer prediction, word suggestion, intuitive gestures and last but not least the playful easing of the familiarization phase, the keyboard app has an impressive range of functions. The handling is very intuitive and you quickly don't want to miss the new typing features.

Numéro10 is based in Bern. The French- and German-speaking agency has set up shop in the federal capital because it forms a symbolic bridge between the two most important Swiss markets.
Now the agency has moved - away from Felsenaustrasse, and directly to Bundesplatz. To mark the occasion, the agency held a very special press conference with its new federal advisors, who immortalized the famous speeches of the real federal councilors.

After the written exam on September 23, 2020, 59 candidates took the oral exam on October 19 and 20, 2020. Prior to this, there were some withdrawals due to positive Covid-19 test results or personal circumstances. 41 graduates obtained the federal certificate, which corresponds to a success rate of 69.49 percent.
More candidates from French-speaking Switzerland
In fall 2020, the PR Suisse examination board conducted the professional examination for PR specialists for the second time in accordance with the new examination regulations. The new examination design is even more in line with the requirements for contemporary practical experience in the field of communication and corresponds to an NQF VPET 5 level defined by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI).
Once again this year, more candidates from French-speaking Switzerland took the exam: Of the 59 graduates, 34 came from French-speaking Switzerland and 25 from German-speaking Switzerland. According to the press release, the gender distribution was no surprise with 43 women and 16 men.
No special recognition for the best
Due to the current Covid-19 situation, the PR Suisse examination board had to forego the invitation to the traditional graduation ceremony at Thun Castle. For this reason, the outstanding achievements of the four best graduates cannot be specially recognized this year. The highest overall grades were achieved by:
Fabienne Bula, Basel with 5.0, Isabelle Michaud, Jongny (VD) with 5.1, Miana Westermann, Frauenfeld (TG) with 5.1 and Andreas Batliner, Schaan (FL) with 5.3. The names of the new PR specialists are published on Pr-ex.ch (examination year 2020).
