To change this and give young people a better understanding of the apprenticeship professions of electricianEFZ, automatic fitterEFZand electrician EFZ, Jaisli-Xamax meets 12-15-year-olds where they spend more time: on TikTok. And it does so with entertaining, organic content and challenges.

Serviceplan's content team produced a series of seven videos entirely in-house, which record all topics relating to the electrical sector in a way that is suitable for the channel. In the "Safety Dance", the professional safety rules are transformed into a dance, in the "Cable Pulling" there is an exciting chase with a cable reel and the "Electric Sound" transforms tools from the various professions into a soundtrack from Jaisli-Xamax.The main roles in the clips were played by apprentices and employees of Jaisli-Xamax. The first four videos can already be watched on the TikTok channel @jaislixamax.

Good news for the sports-interested public throughout Switzerland: SRF, RTS, RSI and RTR will continue to report comprehensively and live on current events in skiing and winter sports on their stations and platforms (TV, radio, online/mobile) in the coming years. SRG extended several key rights packages with its longstanding contractual partners.

FIS World Cup events in Switzerland and worldwide

SRG extended its agreement with the Swiss Ski Federation (Swiss-Ski) on FIS events in Switzerland until the end of the 2027/28 season, securing exclusive broadcasting rights for Swiss World Cup events in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, snowboarding and ski freestyle or ski cross. SRF, RTS, RSI and RTR will continue to provide comprehensive, live coverage of the country's FIS events.

SRG has acquired the broadcasting rights to FIS events outside Switzerland from the marketing company Infront Sports & Media. The contract enables SRF, RTS, RSI and RTR to provide comprehensive live coverage of the FIS international World Cup events until the end of the 2025/26 season. SRG has secured the broadcasting rights to the events in Austria, which are not marketed by Infront, via the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).

Olympics, Ski and Ice Hockey World Championships

The upcoming major international events in skiing and winter sports are also broadcast live on SRF, RTS, RSI and RTR. SRG has acquired a sublicense for the 2022 Winter Olympics from rights holder Discovery. Commission demands report on the promotion of online media

The Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) is to clarify open questions regarding the promotion of online media in a report. This has been requested by the responsible committee of the National Council, as reported by the parliamentary services.

nationalrat-2

A majority of the National Council's Committee for Transport and Telecommunications (KVF-N) found that there was still a need for clarification with regard to the Federal Council's proposed promotion of online media.

On Tuesday, the committee once again discussed the package of measures in favor of the media. In the autumn session, it had already asked the Council to split the bill on media promotion so that the promotion of online media could be discussed in greater depth. The committee wanted to expand indirect press funding without delay.

However, the National Council spoke out against this approach and referred the draft back to the committee.

The commission is now asking OFCOM to define the conditions for eligibility for subsidies more precisely in a report. In addition, several options for subsidies are to be examined, such as tax relief or support for start-ups.

These further clarifications will take time. The committee therefore recommends by 14 votes to 11 that one provision be removed from the bill. In the winter session, the National Council will discuss whether simple companies should be exempt from the corporate fee for radio and television.

The committee also unanimously approved a motion calling for the federal government to provide more financial support for the distribution of DAB+. This should benefit radio stations, which have also been severely affected by the Covid-19 crisis but have not yet been able to benefit from state support.

The Commission was informed by SRG about the investigation into cases of sexual harassment and bullying at RTS radio and television in French-speaking Switzerland.

With its package of measures to support the media, the Federal Council wants to provide more support for newspapers, radio and television stations and news agencies in future. CHF 50 million instead of CHF 30 million will now be available for indirect press promotion. Online media are to receive CHF 30 million per year. (SDA)

Bernese government to review free newspaper subscription for 18th birthday

The Bern cantonal government intends to examine whether young adults should receive a one-year newspaper subscription as a gift on their 18th birthday. It recommends that a corresponding postulate be adopted.

bernerzeitung

Kurt Zimmermann (SVP/Frutigen) had submitted the motion together with members of the Grand Council from the SP, FDP and SVP. On the one hand, the editorial media were under increasing pressure. On the other hand, the younger generation is reading newspapers less and less.

This is to be remedied by a voucher that young people receive at the age of 18. It would allow them to receive a newspaper (online or print) for one year, which would also report on local and regional events in the canton of Bern as a fixed component. The new offer is to be financed by lottery money as well as by the canton and the municipality of residence.

The cantonal government considers the idea worth examining, as it writes in its response published on Monday. Two concerns could be linked in a simple way: Media promotion and the promotion of political education.

Canton cannot, lottery fund must not

However, in view of the tight budget, there is hardly any scope for new cantonal tasks at the moment. In addition, the lottery fund does not have the legal basis to finance the issue.

The government wants to shed more light on the topic with the revision of the Information Act, which was initiated by the Grand Council last year.

In November 2019, the cantonal parliament voted in favor of indirect media funding. The Council is examining measures that take into account the "great importance of independent, diverse quality journalism for the functioning of the democratic state". (SDA)

Bernerland Bank and Republica take care

Republica created a financial and retirement planning campaign for Bernerland Bank. In doing so, the creative agency took a forward-looking approach to savings and retirement planning, focusing on the year 2035.

201104_blb_f12_05

Bernerland Bank is a medium-sized, regionally active bank in Emmental and Oberaargau. Around 80 employees work in one of the nine branches or at the head office in Sumiswald. The bank offers customized solutions for private individuals and SMEs in the areas of payments and cards, savings and investments, financing and pensions.

Republica was tasked with creating a campaign for the main target group of today's 50-year-olds, which brings the bank's financial and pension planning to life in a playful way. The main goal was to generate advisory appointments on these topics and to strengthen the bank's image as a reliable partner.

The creative agency in Berner Matte relied on the two pillars of customer mailings and posters. The headlines used were adapted to the situation depending on the location of the poster site. For example, at various regional train stations, the question was "Are you changing trains in 2035 or getting off?" At gas stations, the appropriate thought-provoking question was "Where will you be driving in 2035?"

Another important measure of the campaign was a physical mailing for existing customers, which was equipped with a "Win-For-Life" lottery ticket. Whether the addressee won with the ticket or not - the accompanying letter showed that a consultation makes sense either way.
