On a story tour

Ursula and Ruedi Pfister moved from Hemberg (SG) to the city of Schaffhausen last fall. They also brought "Ursula Rosas Gschichtewage" with them, because Ursula "Rosa" Pfister, a former teacher, is passionate about telling exciting stories and fairy tales for children and adults. "That's why my family, especially my husband Ruedi, converted a discarded construction trailer into a story wagon for my 60th birthday," she explains. "It fulfilled a great wish of mine."

The couple then went on a storytelling tour lasting several weeks from Toggenburg to Schaffhausen. "That was really great," says Ursula Pfister. "We distributed flyers the day before and in the morning and were surprised by who turned up in the evening. Up to 30 children came." During the tour, the Pfisters slept on mattresses in the van, which have since given way to comfortable benches for the audience.

The comfortably furnished and seasonally decorated story wagon comfortably seats 15 to 20 listeners. While Ursula Pfister tells her stories inside, Ruedi Pfister keeps an eye on things outside. "He makes sure that no one disturbs us - if someone looks through the window or knocks on the carriage, it immediately brings the listeners back from the fantasy world to reality," she says. "That's why there should be no applause after the stories. Children in particular are then still completely in their fantasy world."
