Swisscom and the Fondation Beyeler bring a real Picasso into a Swiss living room

Swisscom is the main partner of the exhibition «The Young Picasso—The Blue and Rose Periods» at the Fondation Beyeler. Together with the Fondation Beyeler, Swisscom is now launching the #myprivatepicasso campaign, bringing a valuable painting by Pablo Picasso from the museum’s renowned collection into a Swiss home for one day.

19-swisscom-beyeler-picasso-940x480-Wohnzimmer

As unique as the artist Picasso, as unique is the joint action of the Fondation Beyeler and Swisscom #myprivatepicasso. The masterpiece Buste de femme au chapeau (Dora) from 1939 from the renowned Beyeler Collection will be loaned to a private household in Switzerland for one day on April 16, 2019. Whether it's a large family, a student flat-sharing community or a single household, everyone living in Switzerland has the opportunity to apply for this extraordinary campaign from March 19 to April 1. A public vote and a jury made up of representatives from the Fondation Beyeler and Swisscom will decide who gets to take the painting home for their original idea.

Possible thanks to secure networking

The networking and secure transmission of sensitive data via the Swisscom network make it possible for such a valuable painting to enter an ordinary Swiss home - outside a museum environment. This means that security experts from Swisscom and the Fondation Beyeler can monitor the painting at all times and receive the painting's important environmental data on an ongoing basis from a networked frame. For the #myprivatepicasso campaign, Swisscom and the Fondation Beyeler have developed a smart picture frame for the masterpiece Buste de femme au chapeau (Dora) that, among other things, measures the ambient temperature and humidity, determines the painting's GPS position or sounds the alarm in the event of unauthorized movement.

Picasso - the artist of the century for all

Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) is the most famous artist of our time. As the most influential artist, his works hang in the world's great art museums. In the current Picasso exhibition at the Fondation Beyeler, visitors gain insights into the so-called Blue and Pink Periods of the artist. The paintings of this creative period are among the most beautiful and emotional of modern art. The exhibition at the Fondation Beyeler is celebrated as one of the cultural highlights of the year in Europe. The purpose of the foundation, Switzerland's most visited art museum, is to communicate modern art to the general public and to awaken young people's interest in art. The Fondation Beyeler and Swisscom are cooperating to bring Picasso closer to the Swiss people.

The exhibition "The Young Picasso - Blue and Pink Period" is organized by the Fondation Beyeler in cooperation with the Musées d'Orsay and de l'Orangerie, Paris, and the Musée National Picasso-Paris.

#myprivatepicasso was created in co-creation between Swisscom and the Fondation Beyeler. The agencies Heimat and Wirz/BBDO supported the two partners in the fine concept and production.

Y&R Wunderman wins Boots Hearingcare UK as new customer

With the relaunch of the Boots Hearingcare website, Y&R Wunderman has successfully entered the British market. The key factor was the successful collaboration with Sonova’s Audiological Care division in the run-up to the project.

81ca3e94-101c-4158-82da-9400ae386768

Boots is the largest drugstore chain in the United Kingdom. As an integral part of the larger stores, the subsidiary Boots Hearingcare has been the first port of call for millions of Britons when it comes to buying hearing aids for many years. Boots Hearingcare aims to continue this success story in the age of digitalization.
For Boots Hearingcare, it was an obvious step to draw on the proven expertise from Zurich, as Y&R Wunderman has already implemented various digital projects with Sonova in the past to their complete satisfaction.

Based on the well-known corporate design of Boots, a digital, multidevice-optimized customer experience was created, which is integrated into the Sonova backend system, but at the same time can retain its independence. Kentico EMS is the name of the system of choice. A user-friendly and overarching CMS that offers a range of tools for digital marketing.

The website intuitively guides customers through the various decision-making processes prior to purchase. This saves time and effort for those affected by hearing loss. Furthermore, extras such as interactive product comparison tables, a hearing test decision aid, a product type finder and an appointment scheduling tool enable a positive user experience.

Jack Dinmore, Head of Digital Boots Hearingcare, is delighted: "We are very excited about the new website. Thanks to the good collaboration with Y&R Wunderman, it was possible to go live after just one month. The hard work is paying off: The conversion rate has developed extremely positively to our satisfaction."

The Y&R Wunderman team is also delighted. Marcel Berberich, Technology Director, comments: "We are proud that we were able to convince an international and renowned company such as Boots Hearingcare of our capabilities and that we have already achieved initial successes in such a short time.

Boots Hearingcare now has a customer-oriented and future-proof web presence - in line with its quality standards in the field of high-tech hearing aids.

APG reduces jobs in administration and increases jobs in the data area

The outdoor advertising group APG|SGA is restructuring. Up to 25 administrative positions will be eliminated, and the executive team will be downsized. At the same time, the company is expanding its digital and data operations.

In future, APG intends to "invest considerable resources and financial means in the expansion and development of innovations, technology, data collection and analytics as well as in corresponding specialists and talents". The advertising group announced on Tuesday that ten new jobs will be created for this purpose.

However, the relocation of activities will also lead to a reduction of 20 to 25 jobs in the back office, administration, management and logistics areas, which will be absorbed through natural fluctuation.

Reorganization in the management

APG intends to secure its market leadership in the analog and digital out-of-home media market with these various measures. To this end, the company intends to operate under a uniform brand in future. The focus is on a "one-brand strategy" and an optimization of the corporate structure, according to the press release.

From June 1, 2019, the employees and activities of the APG/SGA segment brands will be integrated into the core business. The aim is to offer all market partners a comprehensive range of services from a single source. Various organizational and personnel measures will also be taken to set new standards in the areas of digitalization and data.

Daniel Strobel, who was previously responsible for the advertising market, will assume overall responsibility for the digitalization and further development of advertising offerings at Swiss railroad stations from 1 April 2019 and thus also take over the management of the SBB unit. In order to concentrate fully on this task, he is stepping down from the Executive Board. His successor as head of the advertising market will be Andy Bürki, who has recently joined the company.

In addition, a new division, "Marketing & Innovation", will be created to drive forward the digital transformation process and the mobile advertising business area. Beat Holenstein, who was previously responsible for "Partner & Product Management", will head up this new division from June 1.

Christian Gotter, previously Head of Logistics on the Executive Board, is now responsible for the expanded "Partners & Operations" division. (SDA)

Valencia makes the whole of Switzerland hum along

With its spring collection campaign, Coop is launching a nationwide flower-planting initiative and rewarding loyal customers with plush bees and seed balls. The campaign was created by the agency Valencia Kommunikation, which enlisted the Schwiizergoofe children’s choir for the project.

biene

In the latest Coop collecting fun, everything revolves around a sustainable approach to bees. They are extremely useful for people and nature. And with the collection promotion, all Coop customers can support the insects in collecting nectar. With every purchase, you can get stamps and in return receive free seed balls that grow into colorful flowers.

These are six different native flower species that are especially bee-friendly because they provide extra nectar and pollen. With 20 collection tokens each, you get a seed ball bag of your choice. The seed balls are easy to plant. Plush bees are another reward.

Valencia Kommunikation was commissioned to develop the comprehensive communication package for the promotion: from key visuals to all print and POS advertising media such as advertisements, F4/F12 posters or displays, to TV commercials, e-boards, bumper ads, social media and mailings. As a prelude, Coop also secured the Brand Day on 20min.

Schwiizergoofe sing "Sum di sum", the bee song from Coop

In collaboration with the production company WirzFraefelPaal Productions, Valencia also developed all moving image measures such as the TV spot, various cutdowns for the web and social media. Valencia suggested making the Schwiizergoofe, who have been sponsored by Coop for several years, the protagonists of the advertising message.

"We pitched Coop the idea of using the successful children's choir for the TV spot," partner and creative director Tommy Schilling said in a statement. "Both Coop and Schwiizergoofe were immediately on board."

The result was not only a cheerful commercial, but also a bee-strong hit with a catchy melody, written, arranged and produced by Hitmill. By the way, the song can be heard on Coop.ch/beehappy downloaded free of charge.

CH Media withdraws from Sunday market - ten jobs affected

Due to falling advertising revenues, CH Media is discontinuing Zentralschweiz am Sonntag and Ostschweiz am Sonntag, which is published as e-paper, from mid-2019. Subscribers to the newspapers will instead receive regionalized editions of Schweiz am Wochenende on Saturdays. In total, around ten full-time positions will be cut in the editorial offices in eastern and central Switzerland.

chmediasonntagszeitungen

The Saturday editions will be available from the beginning of July as Switzerland at the weekend appear, as CH Media announced on Tuesday. The same step was taken by the newspaper Northwestern Switzerland already in March 2017.

Around ten full-time positions will be cut in the editorial offices in eastern and central Switzerland. A social plan will be applied, emphasizes CH Media, a merger of AZ Medien and NZZ Regionalmedien.

The publishing house must keep its written promise to the staff that layoffs will only be made as a last resort, the Syndicom union announced. Syndicom also points out that hundreds of newspaper salesmen and women will also lose their jobs. However, Syndicom writes that the publishing house is keeping silent about the cuts in sales. The Central Switzerland on Sunday is distributed to mailboxes in central Switzerland early in the morning by around 400 employees.

Founded ten years ago

The Central Switzerland on Sunday was launched in September 2008 because Sunday was increasingly becoming a reading day. The paper started out with the claim of being a regional newspaper alongside the nationally oriented Sunday titles. The publisher at the time, LZ Medien, had entered into a cooperation for the advertisements with the former newspaper Sunday of the Mittelland newspapers.

In 2018, the NZZ Media Group merged Tagblatt Medien in St. Gallen and LZ Medien from Lucerne under the umbrella of regional media; subsequently, in 2016, there was also a change at the Central Switzerland on Sunday to a new layout.

The title was launched by Thomas Bornhauser, and from 2012 it was the responsibility of Dominik Buholzer, who announced his retirement last year. His successor was filled internally by Sasa Rasic.

"Biggest newspaper at the weekend"

The Switzerland at the weekend, with regionalized editions, will have a circulation of 350,000 copies. The title will be by far the largest weekend newspaper in Switzerland, CH Media states. The existing newspaper Switzerland at the weekend, which is currently published in the region of northwestern Switzerland, offers many background reports as well as reading material from the subject areas of culture and life in addition to the daily news.

CH Media says it does not rule out the possibility that subscription prices will continue to rise in the future. Declining advertising revenues would force Switzerland's third-largest private media company to rely even more heavily on revenues from the reader market.

With the setting of the Central Switzerland on Sunday and the e-paper Ostschweiz am Sonntag the Sunday market is thinning out. A few years ago, the seventh day of the week was considered a growth area for regional media companies. In the future, German-speaking Switzerland will still publish the SonntagsZeitung, the NZZ on Sunday and the SonntagsBlick. (SDA)

Mass layoff at early delivery company

The early delivery organization Presto, which is contracted by the publisher for this purpose, had announced the mass dismissal to its staff and opened the consultation procedure.

With the setting of the Central Switzerland on Sunday and the e-paper published since November 2017. Ostschweiz am Sonntag the media company says it is responding "to the sharp decline in revenues on the advertising market. Unfortunately, the advertising market can no longer support Sunday editions of regional newspapers, Jürg Weber, Managing Director of Publishing CH Media, is quoted as saying in the media release. It was therefore with a heavy heart that the end of Sunday editions had to be decided.

CH Media announced in November that it would save CHF 45 million, or ten percent, within two years. A total of 200 full-time positions are to be cut.

The dialogue with and among women is conducted on digital channels as part of the campaign and forms a community under the hashtag #bodytalk that celebrates positive body awareness based on Swiss herbal quality. Women have the opportunity to exchange ideas on topics such as natural body care, herbs, women and self-love. They network, engage in dialogue and thus form a community. For Rausch, the campaign represents a departure on new digital paths toward dialogue, constant exchange, and conversation.

VBZ take to the streets every day for the environment

VBZ and Ruf Lanz are using World Climate Day and the youth climate strikes as the basis for a new campaign, reminding the public that VBZ has long been doing quite a lot to protect the climate and reduce CO2 emissions.

The climate strike is one of the largest student movements. The first strike took place in Sweden in the summer of 2018 and was launched by Greta Thunberg, a 15-year-old climate activist at the time. Last Friday, March 15, was now International World Climate Day. In over 100 countries, young people demonstrated for the environment. There were 60,000 in Swiss cities, 12,000 of them in Zurich alone.

VBZ and its longtime creative agency Ruf Lanz used World Climate Day for a full-page text ad in 20 minutes. Motto: We take to the streets every day for the environment: with streetcars and trolleybuses. Because with them, VBZ transports around 720,000 people every day with environmentally friendly electric energy. This corresponds to 80 percent of all passengers. It is VBZ's goal to further increase this share in order to reduce CO2 emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. So that everyone in Zurich can reach their destination in comfort and yet the environment does not fall by the wayside.

Ochsner Sport and Thjnk Zurich see the whole of Switzerland as a sports field

The sporting goods retailer Ochsner Sport is in the process of revamping its brand identity. Going forward, the company will increasingly focus its product offerings and services on performance and sports expertise. The sports chain is launching an omnichannel campaign created by Thjnk Zurich and a modernized brand identity in the coming days.

MM OSP Claim

The campaign idea with the slogan "Switzerland is our sports ground" combines sports and location in so-called "Micro Adventures": In the campaign, local athletes are shown at Swiss locations with the exact coordinates - as concrete inspiration. In the run-up to the campaign, countless moving images and photos were generated and used across all touchpoints.

In the course of the campaign launch, Thjnk Zurich worked with sister agency Loved to revise Ochsner Sport's CI/CD. It includes a logo facelift, a new imagery, new fonts and a new approach to colors and pictograms. Content is bundled in the newly developed magazine "Playground," which combines editorial reports with tips on sports adventures and equipment. The first issue will be published on April 1, 2019. The starting signal for the new appearance will be given on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 in Europaallee near Zurich's main train station: with the opening of the first Ochsner Sport Pro, a store that focuses exclusively on Bike, Run and Train. Here, bikers will find, among other things, a bike workshop, a measuring station with diagnostic tools including saddle and light tests and the Bikeservice@home, a mobile workshop on 1000 square meters. As the first major retailer in Switzerland, Ochsner Sport offers a dynamic foot and running analysis to customize the perfect running shoe.

According to Frost & Sullivan study, new customer generation Z can be reached with the environment and the common good

Generation Z, which follows the millennials, is the future—including as customers. According to a study by Frost & Sullivan, social media is becoming a critical business and marketing channel for reaching these young people.

gen-z

In the analysis "Generation Z as Future Customers, Forecast to 2027", the analyst firm looks at which strategies are promising for brands. For example, it makes sense to focus on topics such as the environment, health and the common good.

Huge market potential

Generation Z, defined by Frost & Sullivan as those born between 1993 and 2007, makes up almost a quarter of the world's population and will have increasing purchasing power in the coming years. Accordingly, it is becoming increasingly important for brands to adapt to the requirements of this generation. "Gen Z prefers brands that enable user-generated content and rely on social media influencers for marketing," says Lynne Goulding, Principal Consultant, Visionary Innovation Group. Companies that focus on authenticity, transparency and outstanding user experiences therefore appear to be well positioned.

"Gen Z's need for speed, accuracy and convenience will make mCommerce and mobile payment systems popular," says Goulding. To appeal to the generation, it would make sense to develop strategies for popular platforms such as SnapChat, Secret and Whisper, according to Porgnose. However, according to the forecast, social media is not only even more important for marketing, but also as a direct sales platform for goods and services. "Companies need to ensure seamless, fast and engaging mobile experiences."

Good reputation

According to Frost & Sullivan, reputation is becoming even more important when dealing with Generation Z, and in two ways. On the one hand, it is important for brands to build a positive digital reputation, as Gen Z likes to be guided by user reviews, product information or retailer ratings when making considered purchasing decisions. On the other hand, there are many in the emerging customer generation who want to show a social conscience. According to Frost & Sullivan, environmental and social strategies are required to appeal to this part of Gen Z. (pte)
