MSM.digital implements the loyalty campaign "Animal Planet" for Migros

Migros has selected the German full-service marketing agency group MSM.digital as the lead digital agency for its current customer loyalty campaign. The idea behind the current "Animal Planet Mania" is simple: for every purchase over CHF 20, customers and their children receive stickers that they can collect in a sticker album. The album is free for members of the Migros Family Club Famigros. In 40,000 of the sticker packs, participants will find golden stickers for free family admission to one of 21 Swiss zoos. The campaign was created by PPI Worldwide, Spick, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Migros. MSM.digital is responsible for the complete digital implementation of the campaign and the associated website as well as the augmented reality production. The Circle of Trust project management group is responsible for harmonizing and interlinking the analogue and digital components.

IAB Switzerland announces launch of second edition of TCF

On Wednesday, IAB Europe, in collaboration with the IAB Tech Lab, announced the launch of the second edition of the Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF).

IAB-TCF-Master01

The TCF is a European industry tool that helps companies within the digital advertising ecosystem manage their compliance obligations under the GDPR and the e-Privacy Directive. This second version follows a twelve-month review period during which market feedback was received from all sectors of the digital advertising industry, such as publishers in particular, as well as various meetings with data protection authorities across Europe.

Rolf Auf der Maur, attorney-at-law and head of the legal department at IAB Switzerland, welcomes the TCF 2.0: "We see the broad-based agreement of the industry in Europe on version 2 of the Transparency and Consent Framework as a great success. We see it as particularly positive that the TCF now not only focuses on user consent as a justification, but also on other existing justifications under the GDPR and the Swiss Data Protection Act (such as contractual performance and overriding interests). The IAB Switzerland recommends that media, media agencies and ad tech providers in Switzerland implement TCF 2.0. It has adapted the industry recommendation issued jointly with VSM and LSA accordingly. We are convinced that the media and online advertising industry is making an important contribution to data protection in Switzerland with this self-regulation and will also bring this into the ongoing revision of the Data Protection Act."

The grandparents magazine is now also available in Germany

The first issue of Grosseltern-Magazin will be published in Germany at the end of October 2019. The Swiss publishing house 3G Media in Baden has signed a license agreement with Prix Medien Verlags- und Vertriebsgesellschaft from Wuppertal for the grandparents' magazine in Germany.

grosselternmagazin

Prix Medien uses the journalistic concept and selected content from the grandparents' magazine. The first issue will be available in Germany at the end of October. Just as the grandparents' magazine has been doing in Switzerland for five years.

The first issue of the grandparents' magazine was published in August 2014. Publisher Dominik Achermann founded the publishing house 3G Media specifically for this magazine. The grandparents' magazine was the first magazine in the German-speaking world aimed at grandmothers and grandfathers and generated a positive media response when it was launched. "Our magazine is also a thank you for what grandparents do for their families and society," says publisher Dominik Achermann.

In recent years, the publisher has repeatedly been asked to launch such a magazine for Germany as well. "However, I was always convinced that you can't simply design and produce a grandparents' magazine for the entire German-speaking world, but that you have to take into account people's regional characteristics." A corresponding partner who also shares this conviction was therefore a prerequisite for Achermann to take the step beyond the Swiss border.

Aimed at grandmothers and grandfathers in Germany

Such a partner has been found in Prix Medien Verlags- und Vertriebsgesellschaft, which is equally convinced of the enormous importance of grandmothers and grandfathers for society as a whole. Grosseltern-Magazin Deutschland will focus on grandmas and grandpas in Germany. The look and content structure will be based on the Swiss template.

Dominik Achermann: "I am delighted that we were able to attract the interest of Prix Media with our concept. On the other hand, we are delighted that there is now also a magazine in Germany that builds bridges between the generations and can thus also draw attention to the importance of the many grandmothers and grandfathers in our large neighboring canton to the north."

The new launch is starting in Germany with a print run of 70,000 copies, with which the publishers hope to reach around 200,000 grandmothers and grandfathers in Germany.

Agency check: KSP Krieg Schlupp Partner

Agency dog? Maternity leave? Overtime? Home office? In our "Agency Check" column, we put Swiss agencies through their paces. This time, the focus is on KSP Krieg Schlupp Partner from Zurich.

ksp-logo
  • Date of foundation: April 1, 2004

  • Current clients: VW, Coop City, Die Post, Lindt, Remei/bioRe, Halter, Sherpa Tensing, Zurich, Swiss Travel System, Traco Power, Familia, Valida, Rutschi.

The most important campaign in agency history to date - and why?

Coop - For me and you. Because it helped KSP a lot. And Coop, too.

The most unusual place where your creatives retreat to be creative?

Of course, we don't know the most unusual ones. But there are many places to think in the agency.

What do you do when you have thought blocks?

Think about something else.

What is your agency philosophy?

More Purpose - More Profit.

Why should talented people definitely come to work for you?

To do meaningful work. To the extent possible for our industry.

How long do employees stay with you on average?

The average is not a good unit of measurement. Apart from Krieg and Schlupp, five people have already reached the 10-year anniversary, and more than 20 people have already reached the 5-year anniversary.

How old is your youngest employee, and how old is your oldest?

Since we train people ourselves, we always have young people at KSP. Jelena is 19, and since we have been around for 15 years, Uwe is now the oldest at 56.

How high are the wages you pay compared to the industry average?

We pay in line with the industry. No one should come to us for money. But no one should leave because of money either.

What is the ratio between the best and the worst paid employee?

The difference is big, of course, precisely because we train and because some people have been there for so long.

Pay transparency: Do employees know among themselves who earns how much?

Not from us.

How much overtime do you work on average per week?

Of course, this varies quite a bit. We try very hard to divide the workload fairly in terms of time and personnel with our Team Fix/Team Free.

With which benefits do you compensate your employees for said overtime?

With additional days off between Christmas and New Year and over Ascension Day.

How long do you get maternity leave and how long paternity leave?

There we adhere to the legal requirements, again and again someone extends unpaid.

Is home office allowed - and if so, how often?

In principle, yes, but always in consultation.

What is the current quota of women?

60 percent

Do you employ interns?

Yes, all the time. Currently Olivia, a text intern*. And regularly the mentees from HTW Chur. (Editor's note: At the time of the interview)

Do you organize team events?

Of course the official Christmas party, together with friends and customers the barbecue in summer and the fondue in winter. Plus the ski weekend organized by the team, the annual DTP fondue, also organized by the team. And the Volunteering Day, when Gartengold needs us to pick apples.

Do you have an agency dog or other mascot?

Dogs are welcome, but at the moment only freelance. For this we have a violin fig.

Where do you drink your after-work beer?

At Guantanamo. That's the name of our garden, because it lies so romantically behind the wire mesh fence and the SBB wall.

Agenturcheck-Foto-3-Guantanamo_Foto-3

Which campaign from the past twelve months are you particularly proud of?

We just like the subject for the gun law quite well.

Round numbers often help marketing strategists

Scientific experiments show: People are more likely to feel like they have achieved something when they are dealing with round numbers.

ruble-1863439_1920

Whether it's about financial matters, losing weight or games - round numbers are a great marketing tool. This is because they make people feel that they have actually achieved something, according to one of the Journal Marketing Letters published study. This applies not only to the actual goal, but also to intermediate steps on the way there.

Round perfection

Reaching a round number somehow makes you feel more complete. "It happens when we're taking tests, getting paid, tipping or pumping gas," says Kunter Gunasti, WSU professor of marketing and international business at Washington State University's (WSU) Carson College of Business. Together with a colleague from James Madison University, he has shown in three laboratory experiments how generally this also applies to intermediate goals - whether for salary, a loyalty program or video games. Round milestones are therefore particularly effective when the final goal is still a long way off.

One of the experiments involved using an airline's loyalty program to get a free international flight. People felt better when the currency tracking was switched from pounds to euros - because then they could reach a round intermediate target. In another experiment, the aim was to score 100 points in a video game. Here, test subjects were more satisfied if they managed 50 points than if they finished the game with 51 points. In the third experiment, people who were working towards an income target felt better when there were round numbers on their paycheck.

Pure number-crunching

So numbers and units are a great way to play tricks. For example, most people would be more enthusiastic about earning 2000 Canadian dollars than 1521 US dollars, even though the amounts are equivalent, says Gunasti. If you lost 300 ounces, you might feel good, even though that's only 18.8 pounds and would still miss a weight loss goal of 10 kilograms - although it was more motivating than getting rid of 22 pounds. "Don't be a slave to the decimal system," advises the researcher. (pte)

Unikat launches topicality motifs for Kuoni brand campaign

The Küsnacht-based agency Unikat released two new visuals for Kuoni's brand campaign over the weekend.

aktualitätssujets_02

Since last fall, the agency has been responsible for the tour operator's brand campaign with the claim "Holidays where you forget everything" and the headline phrase "Forget...".

An explicit part of the campaign is to address current issues and thus increase brand presence. The latest motifs relate to Trump's Greenland plans and the Swiss Wrestling Festival. They are used on social media channels and at the POS. Themes that have already appeared include the WEF, hay fever, GC relegation, the Street Parade and the women's strike.

Only at home? Not at all: Café Royal and Migros Gastronomie launch new campaign

The new campaign by Café Royal and Migros Gastronomie draws attention to the approximately 260 locations and has been running for two weeks since Monday in online and digital out-of-home media.

Café-Royal-–-Cappuccino-Hands-0-9-screenshot

The centerpiece of the new campaign is a video in which a cappuccino is poured into two hands formed into a cup. The video is intended to convey a feeling of freedom and spontaneity when consuming on the go. "Out-of-home coffee consumption is very popular, especially among young people who may not yet have their own coffee machine and like to be out and about. With the new campaign, we want to appeal more to this target group," says Magdalena Blonkiewicz, Marketing Communication Manager at Delica.

The campaign is flanked by online banners with eye-catching headlines inviting customers to stop off at a Migros restaurant or takeaway. The motifs are also used on posters near the POS.

Jung von Matt/Havel is responsible for the campaign. "The campaign breaks the rules of traditional coffee communication, which we felt was long overdue," says Shelley Lui, Creative Director at Jung von Matt/Havel. "The modern style, which is differentiating yet relaxed, suits the brand and also the target group we want to reach with it."

Richnerstutz responsible for branding of the Swiss Wrestling Festival

From August 23 to 25, 2019, the Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival, the Swiss sporting event of the year, took place in the heart of Central Switzerland. The world's largest temporary grandstand presented itself in perfect style on an area of around five hectares - thanks to digital printing and Richnerstutz.

75 hectares of grounds and an arena with a barrel capacity for 56,500 visitors - the dimensions of this year's Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival in Zug were enormous, larger than ever before in the history of the event. A challenge that Richnerstutz took on; the company in the field of three-dimensional communication was responsible for the branding of the big event.

"Due to its size, this year's Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival was a real challenge for us. The event demanded all our manpower," says Ronny Nussbaumer, Richnerstutz project manager. For several months, almost all departments were involved - from project planning to production and assembly.

The result: 20,000 square meters of print material. Arena, festival area and public viewing Signage and covering - the Swiss Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival received event branding from Richnerstutz from A to Z: "Whether in the arena, on the festival area or in the public viewing area, visitors encountered a completely branded wrestling festival. This not only helped with orientation, but also skillfully underscored the down-to-earth and folkloric ambience," says Ronny Nussbaumer.

Richnerstutz's installation team spent a total of three weeks setting up the arena and one week dismantling it. The arena's façade was clad, kilometer-long endless bands were installed, and the marquees received lettering. Richnerstutz clothed the interior areas of the Gabenbeiz as well as the VIP and hospitality areas with molleton and textile atmospheric images. WC facilities and ATMs were also dressed. Not to forget the Schwingergasse with its 16 clad, 5.5 meter high three-point towers, the preparation of the public viewing area and the branding of all street entrances.

Formeldrei for Verfora: The (in)healers get an addition

For some time now, the colorful troublemakers from Verfora have been up to their mischief. Formeldrei is continuing the umbrella campaign, which aims to raise awareness of minor everyday ailments.

Verfora_F12_Pollus_Juckus_Formeldrei

In 2018, Formeldrei created an umbrella campaign to mark the name change from Vifor Consumer Health to Verfora: colorful pests raise awareness of minor everyday ailments.

Now Kopfus Klopfus, Schnupfus Maximus and Fiebrus Plagus have grown. Hustus Reizus suddenly hits you in the chest and his brother Hustus Hockus just won't let go. Also Krampfus Muskulus pinches at once in the leg and Müdus Schwerus makes you weak. Pollus Juckus tickles in the nose and Reisus Krankus presses on the stomach.

The campaign was used for all Verfora brands at the POS in recent weeks and months. For Itinerol and Triofan Heuschnupfen, Formeldrei also realized a TV spot each, which shows how effective products get to grips with the little evils of everyday life. And in addition, Reisus Krankus is enthroned on a megaposter at Zurich's main train station and can be seen in online videos.
