Republica wins pitch for Rugenbräu

In the pitch for Rugenbräu, the Bernese agency Republica looked deep into the glass and presented a polarizing campaign that won over the client. The first works will be seen in 2020.

Rugenbräu_Bild

The agency is now to focus on the values of the art of brewing beer as well as the region of the Bernese Oberland, and also to significantly increase awareness of the privately run brewery in and around the canton of Bern. In addition, the messages are intended to inspire consumers in a humorous way.

The client was convinced by a campaign that did not feature glasses in front of a mountain panorama, hands caressing barley, or full-bearded pseudo-brewmasters. According to the agency, a glass or two of Rugenbräu provided the necessary modicum of creativity during the late-night brainstorming session.

The first results of the campaign will be seen in 2020 in the greater Bern area on posters, on the web, in social media as well as in gastronomy.

Zäme unterwägs: SBB thanks you for an exhausting year

With the Christmas song «Zäme unterwägs,» SBB expresses its gratitude after a challenging year. It is sung by the very people who make the motto «You are my SBB» possible: the employees. Wirz is responsible for the production.

This year, too, SBB employees are getting involved in a good cause - by singing. "Du bisch mini SBB, üs verbindet meh mehr als nur äs Gleis" ("You are my SBB, we are connected by more than just a track") rings out from around 100 throats. "Zäme unterwägs" is the title of Roman Huber's song, which was created in close cooperation with Wirz and SBB - the choir is made up of SBB employees from all regions of the country and from all departments; from customer attendants, train drivers and shunting staff to office workers and a transport police officer.

After a year full of challenges, they are sending a thank-you to customers and employees. "Zäme unterwägs" also spent days in the top 10 of iTunes downloads in Switzerland after its release. All proceeds generated by the sale of the song go to Swiss Solidarity and thus to the socially disadvantaged.

This year's Christmas campaign also includes posters, eBoards, and display ads. A Christmas miniature world with a model railroad can be seen on a total of four different subjects.

The 49-year-old Austrian national joined ABB in July 2014. He was previously Head of Corporate Communications at specialty chemicals company Lanxess and semiconductor manufacturer Infineon, both based in Germany. Sieder began his career at the car manufacturer Ford Motor Company as a PR manager.

"The decision to leave ABB was not an easy one for me - especially at a time when the company is successfully transforming its portfolio and culture," says Christoph Sieder about his decision. "I am very proud of the work the communications team has done over the last few years. At the same time, I am looking forward to a new, exciting challenge at Syngenta."

Elfred as gift advisor: Manor launches interactive chatbot

Elfred, the Christmas elf from Manor's current campaign, is now helping customers find the perfect gift via Facebook. Using a question-and-answer format, he suggests suitable Manor products.

Chatbot-Elfred-(DE)

"We've already received very positive feedback on Elfred as a gift guide, and we're thrilled that the interaction is generating so much buzz," said Sandra Kottenauer, chief digital & marketing officer and executive committee member at Manor.

For the gift search, various variables such as the age of the recipient and their preferences are queried. After a few clicks, a product is presented that can be ordered directly in the online store via a link.

Influencer Steven Epprecht tests Elfred chatbot

Swiss influencer and model Steven Epprecht shows exactly how the search can go in a video on Instagram. First, Elfred wants to know more: "Tell me more about this special elf you want to give a gift to." Steven describes his father as an "adventurer" and provides Elfred with further clues in the chat regarding age group, preferences and budget. Step by step, Elfred helps him find a gift for his father.

Together with Wirz Brand Relations, Ifolor wants to sharpen the brand's positioning and core promise. The guiding principle: "Do more with your photos. Today, people take more photos with the help of digital devices than ever before.

"We want to inspire people to turn the many photographed moments that are on their smartphone or memory card into something special that is personal, lasting and meaningful to them," says Ellen Brasse, CMO of Ifolor. Brand rebrush across all channels

Based on the positioning and the defined core values "simple, competent and inspiring", a modernized brand identity has been created with a revised logo, newly developed design elements and a new color and image world.

In addition to the visual appearance, the brand rebrush also includes audio branding, which was created in collaboration with Department of Noise. Furthermore, Wirz Brand Relations has developed a linguistic identity that will be used in the various internal and external communication channels.

A Christmas campaign for eternal joy

The first communicative implementation of the new appearance is a multimedia Christmas campaign with the claim "Give joy that lasts forever". For this, Wirz Brand Relations developed the TV and radio spot, a digital Advent calendar with daily surprises, as well as various digital marketing measures (newsletter, display ads) and social media activities.

"Over the course of the next year, the new brand presence will be implemented across all relevant touchpoints and will be visible and tangible in many ways," says Thomas Städeli, CEO Wirz Brand Relations.
