Parenti Design implements programmatic DOOH campaign for TPG

The Leman Express began operations on Monday. At the same time, a programmatic DOOH campaign was launched to draw the attention of commuters from the greater Geneva and Vaud regions to the expanded route network of the Geneva commuter rail system. The campaign was developed by the agency Parenti Design, as well as Out Of Home Media, Jaduda, and Neo Advertising.

The campaign will be broadcast on all 532 Neo Advertising screens in the shopping centers and Coop Pronto points of sale in the cantons of Geneva and Vaud, as well as at Geneva Airport.

The added value of the programmatic campaign is that a contextualized and personalized advertising message is automatically triggered at the right time to the right person and in the right place. The Out of Home Media agency activates the targeting criteria on Jaduda's DSP platform Splicky, which then checks and plays out the SSP Broadsign Reach, the relevance and availability of Neo Advertising's DOOH inventory, in real time.

These new technological possibilities should offer many additional advantages and make out-of-home media even more attractive for the coming year.

"The campaign for our client TPG (Transports publics genevois), which covers the entire greater Geneva area, was realized by the agency Parenti Design. Programmatic DOOH offers a decisive advantage for optimizing our targeting and contact quality," says Gérald Le Meur, Director of Out of Home Media in French-speaking Switzerland.

Sven Ruppert, CEO of Jaduda: "Programmatic has already established itself as an integral part of the marketing repertoire of out-of-home advertisers in various countries and we expect this development to continue in Switzerland in the coming months and years."

"It's great that we were able to realize this campaign for the launch of the Leman Express. We are very proud to prove to the Swiss advertising market that forward-looking measures are also being driven forward in French-speaking Switzerland and that we have worked closely with our colleagues at Jaduda within the Goldbach Group. Programmatic buying is a revolution in the development of DOOH campaigns and will be one of our strategic priorities for 2020," says Florian Maas, COO of Neo Advertising.

Publishers establish joint venture to operate Login Alliance

Major Swiss publishers are planning a joint venture to operate the Login Alliance. The current practice of requiring separate registration with each publisher when accessing a news portal is to be replaced by a single sign-on across all publishers—known as "single sign-on.".

login-allianz

There are still open points, said Andreas Häuptli, managing director of the Swiss Media Association, on Friday to a report by Persoenlich.com. This applies in particular to the development of a uniform login technology.

There are still numerous legal and technical points to be clarified, Häuptli told Keystone-SDA. According to Persoenlich.com, the switch to a uniform media login is planned for fall 2020, in parallel with the introduction of a registration requirement and a uniform solution for consent to data use.

Ringier as a pioneer

The initiative for a login alliance came from the Ringier publishing house a good year ago with the aim of standing up to globally active corporations such as Google and Facebook. Subsequently, Tamedia, CH Media and the NZZ of the alliance.

The alliance is an open construct, Häuptli emphasized. Smaller publishers such as the Schaffhausen News have meanwhile also expressed their interest in participating. Ways are being sought to facilitate the entry of these publishers with a simplified procedure.

Information Offensive

The alliance partners are currently working to bring more alliance partners on board. On December 3, there was a presentation at Tamedia to 35 publishing managers from German-speaking Switzerland and Ticino. Another event was held last Wednesday in French-speaking Switzerland. SRG is also interested, but this is met with skepticism in political circles.

According to Persoenlich.com, the voluntary registration of news portal users currently in force is going well. The number of new registrations per day at Ringier has more than doubled since the start of registrations on October 15.

At View, Observer, Handelszeitung and Balance around 100,000 new registrations during this period. The portals of the Tamedia newspapers and of 20 minutes counted around 80,000 new registrations in the same period. With the NZZ it was 40,000, while CH Media speaks of a figure well into five figures. (SDA)

An advertising poster plays Christmas orchestra

What does an orchestra do when it can't find a venue for its Christmas concert? That's right—it puts the concert on a promotional poster.

Unfortunately, the Christmas concert of the Medellín Symphony Orchestra had to be cancelled, as no suitable venue could be found.

Together with the agency Jaime Uribe & Asociados, the musicians were able to deliver the bad news at least with a little consolation: Via the Spotify scan code, the concert can be heard directly from the advertising poster. Feliz Navidad!

MCH Group invites to Extraordinary General Meeting in Basel at the end of January

The trade fair organizer MCH Group will hold the extraordinary general meeting requested by a group of shareholders on January 29, 2020, in Basel. However, the Board of Directors will propose to the general meeting that all motions submitted by the AMG Group be rejected. MCH announced this on Thursday.

1_mch-group-messe-basel-halle-1-04

AMG Fondsverwaltung as representative of the AMG Group, consisting of Ursula Lee, Erhard Lee and LLB Swiss Investment, had requested that the AGM be convened (Werbewoche.ch reported). The three agenda items to be dealt with include "Initiation of a special audit on strategy", "Disclosure of business records" and "Amendment of the Articles of Association".

The group around AMG does not agree with the new strategy of the trade show operator, which among other things includes the sale of the service business (Live Marketing Solutions). According to official information, the AMG fund itself holds 9.91 percent of the shares at last count.

Although the AMG Group has not submitted a request for information, the Board of Directors will also accept the 39 individual questions submitted on strategy as requests for information and answer them at the latest at the Extraordinary General Meeting, MCH announced on Thursday. The Board of Directors is convinced that this approach will enable it to fully satisfy the legitimate information interests of all shareholders. This should make the requested disclosure of business records and the initiation of a special audit on strategy unnecessary, it added.

The MCH Group has been struggling for some time with the dwindling interest of exhibitors and visitors to attendance exhibitions and, following the withdrawal of the Swatch watch group from Basel World, has had to restructure the business and make write-downs, resulting in red figures. (SDA)
