Physics, the devil

Trouble in Little Tibet: McCann Prague is promoting a new project by the Czech NGO Brontosaurus with a charming short film.

Things are going haywire in Little Tibet. During their last visit, the Czechs left a book behind, and since then the children have been possessed by the "physics demon. With their experiments and tinkering, they drive the adults to the brink of despair.

However, the funny and heartwarming video is meant to raise awareness for a serious matter: Although the village has a school - realized with help from the Czech Republic - science subjects are especially lacking. That's why McCann Prague and Brontosaurus are recruiting volunteers and calling for donations of materials.

Amag introduces online sales

In Switzerland, only Tesla vehicles have been sold online so far. That will change starting in March. Amag, the country’s largest car dealer, is entering the online business, as reported by the Handelszeitung in its latest issue.

Amag Online-Verkauf

The launch will take place at the beginning of March, as company spokesman Dino Graf confirms. "As part of the relaunch of Amag.ch already planned for the first quarter of 2020, Amag Retail will launch an innovative, integrated online sales portal."

At the beginning, 6500 vehicles will be available in the online store. These are stock vehicles, demonstration cars and used cars of the Amag brands VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda. However, the plan is to sell used cars from other manufacturers as well.

Amag is pursuing two goals with its online store. First, billionaire Martin Haefner's company wants to offer customers "a shopping experience that they are already used to in other industries," according to Amag. Secondly, the online store should also attract digital natives as new customers to Amag.

The Swiss Association of AOP-IGP chooses Openroom

The Swiss Association of AOP-IGP has awarded the Zurich-based agency Openroom a five-year contract. The initiative kicks off with a major national advertising campaign aimed at making AOP and IGP specialties a topic of conversation in Switzerland.

Openroom

The briefing called for a somewhat provocative tone to set the campaign apart from others in the food industry. To achieve this, the team led by Creative Director and owner Eric Voser drew inspiration from the quintessentially Swiss institution of direct democracy when developing the campaign.

In the run-up to the referendum on February 9, 2020, consumers are once again being urged to vote through posters, advertisements, social media, and banners. In this case, however, not at the polls, but in stores at the shelves—where AOP (Appellation d’Origine Protégée) and IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) products from various regions of Switzerland are sold.

The visual design and the bold tone of the «slogans» on the various advertising materials are deliberately modeled—with a touch of humor—on the election and referendum campaigns of the various political parties.

A total of 41 themes are being used: 8 national themes with messages on safety, tradition, culture, and general references to AOP-IGP products, and 33 regional themes with explicit references to the various AOP-IGP products from different cantons and regions.

In recent days, CH Media has relaunched the job platforms Ostjob.ch, Zentraljob.ch, and Myjob.ch and added new features to them.

CH Media

All three regional job portals now have the same state-of-the-art technology, improved usability and more features. In addition, a new, intelligent search function allows users to find attractive jobs in their region that suit them more quickly and intuitively. The newly developed advice section also provides tips and assistance for job changes and applications.

Employer branding options for corporate clients

For corporate customers, there are attractive employer branding options as well as many new products with fully automated insertion and billing processes, which are designed to make advertising vacancies easier and cheaper.

User-friendliness on mobile devices was also taken into account during development. Both the insertion and search of jobs via smartphones and tablets should be even easier in future.

Facebook gives more control globally on website and app data

Facebook is now rolling out controls over the data that apps and websites share with the social network worldwide. In addition, over the next few weeks, users will be encouraged to review their privacy settings when they open the Facebook app.

Facebook

This was announced by founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Tuesday. Last August, Facebook initially only introduced the option to view the information shared about activities outside of the platform for a few countries such as Ireland, Spain and South Korea.

The data points that are sent to Facebook include, for example, opening an app, accessing a website, viewing content and, in the case of online stores, searching for items, adding them to the shopping cart and making a purchase. Facebook then assigns the information to a user profile. The information can also reach the online network via advertising agencies or data service providers.

Data is not deleted

At the same time, the information is not complete, Facebook explains: "For technical and reliability reasons, we do not show all activities that we have been informed about." The other providers are also prohibited from sharing confidential information with Facebook.

With the control tool, users can now ensure that the information they receive is no longer linked to their Facebook profile. Previously collected data is also unlinked from the profile, but not deleted.

In spring 2018, Zuckerberg had already announced a control tool called "Clear History", which would allow users to "clean up" or "flush away" data collected outside of the online network. The online network is now referring to a tool for managing activities outside of Facebook instead. (SDA)
