Encephalitis: Markus Gilli out for a long time

The former long-standing editor-in-chief of TeleZüri, Markus Gilli, is suffering from acute brain tissue inflammation (encephalitis) and is undergoing medical treatment in hospital. He will be replaced by Oliver Steffen and Hugo Bigi as presenters of the "TalkTäglich" and "SonnTalk" programs.

Markus Gilli's state of health is stable, and according to the doctors treating him, he is responding well to the medical measures that have been taken, according to a media release on Tuesday. The healing process will take several weeks to months and requires complete rest. A return to work will probably not be possible until the end of the year.

"We sincerely wish Markus Gilli a speedy recovery. We support him to the best of our ability and look forward to his return," says Roger Elsener, Managing Director CH Media Entertainment.

The shows "TalkTäglich" and "SonnTalk" will be mostly taken over by Oliver Steffen in the next few weeks and Hugo Bigi will also talk more often.

Swisscom and Wirz are ready for the next level

In the new "Ready for the next level" campaign, Swisscom and Wirz position the network provider as a reliable and innovative partner for the gaming community. The target group is addressed directly where they are: on Twitch, YouTube and other social media platforms.

Swisscom-«Besser-Leben-ohne-Lags»

Just recently, Swisscom launched the "Ready for Life" kick-off campaign. "With this campaign, we are also introducing our new communication platform #ready in our gaming engagement," explains Christoph Timm, Head of Marketing Communications at Swisscom.

Fast Internet essential in the gaming age

The market and the e-sports and gaming community have been growing steadily for years, and thanks to technological innovations such as 5G and virtual reality, it can be assumed that this will not change anytime soon. For the 1.5 million people in Switzerland alone who regularly play games on a PC, console or smartphone, nothing works without fast Internet: most games focus on multiplayer or online compatibility.

"The shift to online and cloud gaming makes a high-performance network increasingly important. Swisscom customers are ready for it," says Felix Zürcher, project manager at Swisscom, about the motivation for this campaign.

As a partner to the gaming community, Swisscom is continuing to drive forward the nationwide expansion of its ultra-broadband networks - in addition to other projects such as the establishment of the Swisscom Hero League 2018 and integrated e-sports streaming on Swisscom TV.

Wirz implemented a 30-second film for the campaign, flanked by a pool of entertaining moving image banners on the topics of indoor and outdoor gaming and e-sports. "Ready for the Next Level" has been airing on social media and streaming platforms since Monday.

Plakat_F12_Image_Mehr_fuers_Leben_DE_V2_FINAL-1

On its 15th birthday, the discounter is opening a new chapter in its success story, according to a statement issued on Monday morning. Aldi Suisse has long since ceased to be just a low-price discounter - it not only offers more for the money, but also more quality, more freshness, more regionality and more transparency, it continues. These added values would form the basis of the communicative repositioning that Aldi Suisse has developed together with its new lead agency Inhalt und Form.

The new brand message "Mehr fürs Leben" (More for Life) is intended to anchor Aldi's added values in the minds of consumers in the long term, so that they understand Aldi Suisse as the likeable retailer where they always benefit from "more".

Image campaign shows "More for life

The new image campaign, developed and implemented by Content and Form, shows what "More for Life" means. The communication campaign, implemented in the form of TV and online commercials, display ads, advertisements, posters, and social media ads, is intended to confirm Aldi Suisse customers in their purchasing decision and to encourage new customers to convince themselves of the added value that the discounter offers.

Matching brand identity

In parallel with the implementation of the image campaign, the entire brand presence was redesigned and redesigned to match the repositioning. From the brochure, the shopping bags, the POS, and the truck lettering to the employer branding and the online and social media presence, everything is getting a new look. A new, catchy audio logo and a unique corporate sound round off the new look.

Ricardo and Contexta define the new New

With Contexta’s new brand campaign, Ricardo is championing a new form of consumption and positioning secondhand goods as a genuine alternative to new items.

RICARDO_DASNEUENEU_Poster2

Despite the many added values that secondhand offers, around a third of Swiss people have never bought secondhand. A representative survey shows that - in addition to concerns about selection and condition - many people simply do not have secondhand on their radar screen as an alternative to new goods.

To change this, the online marketplace has collaborated with the creative nomads at Contexta to develop a brand campaign that positions Ricardo's secondhand as the antithesis of new goods. With the message "Discover the new new" and backwards shot spots, the aim is to encourage a reversal of shopping behavior.

Serviceplan Suisse: Seize opportunities now with Credit Suisse

Current challenges in the real estate market create future opportunities. Serviceplan Suisse promotes Credit Suisse's mortgage offers by pointing out precisely these changes.

CS_Header_Medienmitteilung_Laptop

Changes often bring new challenges - and at the same time offer new opportunities. In the real estate market, too. In order to identify and exploit these opportunities in good time, Credit Suisse offers its clients a wide range of flexible mortgage products - both online and offline.

Under the campaign motto "See it as an opportunity," Serviceplan Suisse used figurative analogies to get to the heart of these mortgage offers. The laptop on a cushion in the living room, for example, symbolizes the fact that we will be working more at home in the future - and that this will also change the demands on home ownership. Another visual with building blocks shows how easy it is to extend mortgages with the new online solution in just 2 minutes.

The aim of the campaign is to publicize Credit Suisse's new mortgage offers - and at the same time to underline the expertise of mortgage advice, which is becoming increasingly important in the difficult real estate market. The campaign has been running since Monday in Credit Suisse branches and on various digital advertising media and online channels.

MM_robnicolas

The move is in response to the company's growing customer base and increasing inquiries from the DACH region, according to a statement on Monday. "We look forward to serving our customers from the two locations in the future and offering an even more attractive environment for employees," Robin Mark, owner of Rob Nicolas, added.

For the time being, one employee will be working at Jupiterstrasse 41, as agency head Mark explained when asked by Werbewoche.ch. "Other employees will commute between the two locations." However, the minimal core team in the Limmat city is not to remain: "We are planning an expansion at the Zurich location in the medium term," says Mark. "Chur, however, will remain the headquarters of our agency."

Addition to the team

As of August, the agency has also strengthened its staff. Ivo Orlik joins Rob Nicolas from Romansh Radio and Television (RTR), where he worked as a presenter, and will be responsible for creative processes. After working in London, Zurich and at Graubünden Viva, Sandra Lerchi also joins the agency as project and campaign manager for various mandates.

The digital marketing agency currently serves clients such as Swiss Helicopter, Pro Infirmis, Graubündner Kantonalbank, Elpro, Heidiland and Aqua Spa Resorts. Its competencies include social media, content creation, digital advertising and analytics. (hae/pd)

Consumers demand more realism in portrayal of cultural diversity

Almost eight out of ten people worldwide expect companies and brands to consistently promote inclusion and diversity in their advertising. But in a realistic way, please. This is shown in a new study by Getty Images.

getty-images

So far, only 15 percent of people feel adequately represented by advertising or corporate communication. This is the result of the second research wave of the Visual GPS, which Getty Images has developed in collaboration with the international market research company YouGov as an orientation guide for visual corporate communication. It examines the extent to which consumers are influenced by visual content. As a first step, the Visual GPS identified four key forces that play a major role in people's decision-making: Technology, Sustainability, Wellness and Authenticity, with the realistic portrayal of diversity also emerging as a crucial factor.

The latest analysis revealed that six out of ten respondents prefer to shop with brands that were founded by or represent people like themselves. However, for 80 percent of people worldwide, it is not enough to simply include different nationalities and ethnicities in advertising campaigns. Instead, they expect companies to portray people according to the reality of their lives. Getty Images has long been committed to breaking down stereotypes and creating more authentic content. In order to support this, the internationally active picture agency has also published a Inclusive Search Guide which companies can use to ensure more diversity in their visual communication.

"Despite the massive changes resulting from the crisis, the need for more diversity in visual communication has not changed - on the contrary, it has even increased. However, as our Visual GPS shows, there is still a lot of potential for improvement when it comes to the diverse representation of people," says Jacqueline Bourke, Head of Creative Insights EMEA at Getty Images.

New findings on prejudice and discrimination

The Visual GPS summer update also revealed that the majority of people are confronted with prejudice in their everyday lives, with 62% feeling discriminated against as a result. Generation Z in particular is more likely to feel discriminated against, and the same is true for women compared to men. It is also interesting to note that consumers in America are more likely to say they have to fight against discrimination compared to Europe and Asian regions: In North America, respondents said they feel discriminated against primarily because of their skin color (57 percent), and more than any other region considered, discrimination is seen as other people being prejudiced against them based on where they come from (53 percent). In Europe, those who feel they are treated differently because of their ethnicity say this is due to assumptions about their nationality or country of origin (56%).

To counteract this, companies currently seem to be rethinking their approach: an analysis of search queries by Getty Images has shown that the demand for visual material depicting "diversity" and "real people" has recently increased by around 30 percent in Germany. Requests for the term "inclusion" have even risen by 200 percent. Getty Images is not only supporting this development with its new Inclusive Search Guide. Commercial image collections such as Muslimgirl.com, Nosotros, The Disability Collection and Project ShowUs have also already made a contribution, as the press release explains further.

Migros lets customers refill washing and dishwashing detergent themselves

What Nivea is testing in Germany is being implemented in Switzerland by Migros in a pilot project: From now on, customers in two Migros branches of the Migros Aare cooperative will be able to fill washing and dishwashing detergents, such as "Handy," themselves.

sm_abfuellstation_08_20_018

In Germany, Nivea and the DM drugstores are testing specially developed refill stations. No comparable projects are planned in Switzerland (Werbewoche.ch reported). Thanks to Migros, Swiss consumers now nevertheless have the opportunity to reduce their plastic consumption and save packaging by refilling.

In the Migros stores Marktgasse Bern and Migros Shoppyland Schönbühl, they can now fill their own detergents and rinsing agents at the filling station provided for this purpose. Four products are available: From the "Migros Plus" brand, the hand dishwashing detergent lemon and the color detergent. From the "Total" brand, the color detergent and the hand dishwashing detergent "Handy".

sm_abfuellstation_08_20_021

Refill if required

Customers select the desired product and place the empty bottle under the filling tap. The system recognizes the product by means of the barcode on the bottle and fills the corresponding quantity at the push of a button. The customer closes the bottle, sticks the newly printed label on the bottle and pays for the product as usual at the checkout or self-checkout. When the bottle is empty, it can be refilled in the store. However, there is no financial incentive from the customer's point of view: the price for the four products is the same as for the already filled bottles.

Plastic is still the most ecological and safest packaging for detergents and dishwashing products. Nevertheless, Migros wants to enable customers to reduce the amount of plastic used in these products as well. After the first experiences in the Migros Aare cooperative, the offer is to be extended to other cooperatives.

sm_abfuellstation_08_20_036

Detergents and rinsing agents may only be sold with the legally required information and warnings. Therefore, it is mandatory that the appropriate agent is filled into the empty product bottle.

These are the most visible brands and industries on Twitter 2020

According to the Brandwatch Report, Nike is the most visible brand on Twitter worldwide. In light of the COVID-19 crisis, it is interesting to note that the sports, fashion, and entertainment sectors lead the way.

The top 10 most visible brands on Twitter 2020

brandwatch_report_twitter_2020_01

Nike is the most visible brand on Twitter worldwide. In addition to ranking the most visible brands on the social media platform, Brandwatch also identified the key industries that include the most visible brands on Twitter. The sports industry is at the top due to the sports sponsorship of some brands and leading clubs, although hardly any live events took place during the survey period due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The retail, financial services and airline industries are the lowest ranked.

The most visible industries on Twitter 2020

brandwatch_report_twitter_2020_02

Despite the cancellation of many sporting events in the wake of the Corona pandemic, the sports industry was able to achieve high visibility. The report shows that sponsors of jerseys and sportswear definitely receive high visibility, even when live events cannot take place. The fashion industry also benefits from high visibility for brands that produce sportswear and sponsor major teams such as Nike (1), Adidas (2) and Puma (11). In third place is the entertainment industry, which is also strong because consumers searched more intensively for entertainment options during the study period January to June 2020.

The most important influencers for Nike and Adidas

Among the most important influencers in the sports industry are the football players Neymar and Messi, they appeared tens of thousands of times next to images of the Nike logo. For the Nike logo, arenas and sports scenes are the most frequently pictured sceneries, which is surprising in a year without full venues.

For Adidas, Cristiano Ronaldo is the most important influencer. He is one of the most photographed people in Adidas clothing. But Jisoo, a K-pop star and member of the group Blackpink, who was involved in an Adidas campaign, is also important as an influencer for the German sporting goods manufacturer.

Nike versus Adidas

Adidas made it big with sports shoes, but on Twitter, T-shirts are helping it break through! T-shirts with the Adidas logo or tweets that contain terms related to clothing and the logos of one of the two brands are shown more often than T-shirts with the Nike logo. Nike's logo, on the other hand, is found more often on shorts, socks and sneakers. IMAGE NIKE VS ADIDAS

Parental Advisory at No. 3, LA Lakers at No. 4 because of Kobe Bryant

Parental Advisory, a label for the recording industry from the USA that informs that offensive lyrics are considered unsuitable for minors, secures 3rd place in the ranking. This is surprising in that the logo is actually only found on recorded music. On Twitter, on the other hand, the label is used by the community for all kinds of other creative content in addition to being depicted on album covers.

An outstanding ranking is also secured by the LA Lakers. Due to the tragic death of Kobe Bryant at the beginning of 2020, there were thousands of tributes to Kobe Bryant, to which photos were shared showing him in his LA Lakers jersey. In addition, Kobe Bryant was also frequently seen on Nike logo mentions and in connection with Adidas.

It pays to invest in the visibility of the logo

Thomas Grünberg, Senior Marketing Manager for the DACH region at Brandwatch, points out the benefits of investing in logo visibility on Twitter and monitoring logo usage on the social media platform: "With the help of Visual Listening, brand companies are able to keep track of photos shared with their logos on the web and thus find out, among other things, how the products are received and used in real life, in order to be even closer to the end consumer."
