Stock exchange supervisory authority: accusations against Publigroupe

Publigroupe is alleged to have violated regulations governing the preparation of its annual and semiannual financial statements. The stock exchange regulator, SIX Exchange Regulation, has leveled this accusation against the company and has therefore filed a motion for sanctions.

Following the conclusion of the investigation, SIX Exchange Regulation is of the opinion that Publigroupe violated the accounting standards applied in the 2011 annual financial statements and the 2012 semi-annual financial statements, the supervisory body of the Swiss stock exchange announced on Wednesday.

Specifically, the stock exchange supervisors are accusing Publigroupe of having inadequately disclosed certain requirements relating to sales revenue and interim reporting, thereby violating the regulations. According to information provided on Wednesday, the duration of the proceedings has not been determined.

Publigroupe changed its accounting standard from IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) to the Swiss standard Swiss GAAP FER as of the 2012 financial year. Publigroupe denies the allegations made by the stock exchange supervisory authority, according to the communiqué. (SDA)

Last but not least: Thick A-mail

Something that caught my attention: The postal service can give good reasons why people should send letters via A-Mail. It’s not about delivery times or money, but about showing appreciation.

It is well known that Swiss Post has the customer's best interests at heart. For example, the post offices (which have not been rationalized) are constantly being expanded into small supermarkets and stationery shops. A pleasure, because by the time you have examined all the chocolate bars, novels and cell phones, the waiting time is usually already over.

The fact that Swiss Post is serious about unselfish charity can also be seen on the letterboxes. The company gives profound advice there: "Tip: Send your items as A Mail! This shows that the recipient is important to you and ensures greater attention". These are really good A Mail arguments: impressively demonstrated appreciation for just 15 centimes extra - a fair deal for everyone involved.

post-briefkasten

In the past, people tried to force the lucrative A Mail on customers by emphasizing at the counters how unpredictable the delivery time of the lame B Mail was. If it doesn't arrive tomorrow, it might arrive the day after tomorrow - unless it's Saturday. Without haste or guarantee. And just don't complain afterwards if there are any problems. Message: B Mail ends up in a box labeled "No hurry - stingy customer - take care of it when you get the chance". The successor to the former standardized stamp is A Mail. 15 centimes is simply no longer enough to make a real difference in class, turning B Mail into a token exercise.

Fortunately, those days are over. Now the focus is on people. Chocolate bars, electronics and advice for life. But the new charity can bear even sweeter fruit. For example, Swiss Post offers the amazing and innovative service "Swiss Post Box" is available. The digital letterbox allows you to view your letter post via a mobile device. If necessary, Swiss Post opens important letters and scans them. Or forwards them to a specific address. Unnecessary junk can be handed over to the wastepaper basket on the spot (for example, envelopes franked with 85 centimes, signaling pure contempt).

Gemi February: Increase in electronic media

The overall market remains stable, with electronic media as a whole showing a slight increase. Radio and the Internet are continuing their upward trend - only Adscreen and Teletext are experiencing a slight decline, as the Goldbach Index shows.

TV again closed February with an index of 621, thus maintaining the previous month's very good figures. Radio improved slightly by 419 (417), and Internet also increased by a further 6 index points to a total of 754. AdScreen lost 5 points compared to the strong pre-Christmas advertising period. However, with 648 (653) index points, digital advertising space continues to confirm its great popularity, which is particularly evident when compared with the previous year's figure (474). Teletext also recorded a minimal decline of 2 index points.

The overall market and electronic media are proving consistent. The overall market once again confirmed its value of 236 index points, while the electronic media increased by a further 627 points (626).

Joiz castings attract interest in Germany

More than 500 candidates came to the Germany-wide Joiz castings, in which presenters were sought for the German broadcast launch. The audience can now vote to determine who gets the jobs.

On March 4, Joiz launched a nationwide casting tour in Munich to find presenters for the summer launch of the show in Germany. Online voting will now begin on Thursday, March 21. "The casting was a complete success. More than 500 candidates came to our total of eight dates. And that's despite the fact that the channel hasn't even started yet," said Alexander Mazzara, CEO of Joiz. "We are quite sure that we discovered one or the other talent at the casting. From March 21, the online voting will now run on our website and we are very excited to see who, as the audience favorite, will then directly receive the first presenter contract."

A Joiz jury of experts has selected the best candidates from each city. From March 21 to April 1, 2013, these will be on Joiz.com/votings ready for the vote. The candidate with the absolute most votes will directly receive a moderator contract from Joiz. Other talents will then be invited by the Joiz jury to a final round in Berlin. There, it will be decided who will complete the German presenter team.

According to the announcement, the search was for "young, distinctive, refreshing personalities between the ages of 18 and 29 with rough edges who see eye-to-eye with future Joiz viewers, the digital natives." Among the candidates who came to the castings at Starbucks Coffee Houses in Munich, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Cologne, Dortmund, Hamburg, Leipzig and Berlin were some who German TV viewers already know. Who will ultimately be the new faces of Joiz will be decided after Easter.

Leo Burnett distributes patterns not better - but longer

The Ovo giveaway campaign, conceived by Leo Burnett Switzerland, will not end until one million samples have been distributed. About one-third have been distributed after two days.

Switzerland's biggest sampling campaign to date has been underway since Monday: one million small Ovomaltine sample portions are to be distributed. The highlight of the campaign is that the promotion team is proving the popular slogan "Not better, but longer" itself and will be working almost around the clock until the very last sample has been distributed.

The promotion team is divided between three locations - the main train stations in Zurich, Bern and Lausanne. Samples from the entire Ovomaltine range will be handed out for sampling. Not included in the million are, of course, all the Ovomaltine products that the sampling team itself needs to get through the campaign devised by Leo Burnett Switzerland.

In addition to a visit on site, you can also find out how the stubborn troop is faring when distributing the million samples via Facebook and Twitter. The Ovomaltine representatives continuously post contributions from the sampling front, for example about the current mood in the team, interesting booth visitors, funny incidents and much more.

After two days, 336,936 portions have been distributed, according to the statement. And the people at the stand are still in a good mood. On Wednesday, the promoters will receive support from Didier Cuche - from 11 a.m. at Bern main station, and from 3 p.m. at Zurich main station.

Valencia: Easter magazine created for Coop

Valencia Kommunikation presents Coop's new Easter magazine. It is already the second Easter issue in Valencia's new magazine look.

The new issue of Coop's Easter magazine was published on March 19, 2013, just in time for the Easter preparations. "Deceleration" and "Family" are once again the themes of the magazine, which is intended to get people in the mood for the coming festive season with recipes and Coop Easter offers.

"It's important to Coop to authentically convey all the preparations around Easter," says Creative Director Tommy Schilling. Together with the team, he tried to capture these in simple scenes and recipe arrangements. They are snapshots of a relaxed Easter weekend with the family. "We didn't want anything artificial or staged in the picture," Schilling continues, "but to evoke a smile in readers just by the mood captured. The pictures should inspire Coop customers and encourage them to shop at Coop."

The magazine is available in all Coop stores and was enclosed with the Coop newspaper.

Ringier sells Ringier Studios to Liechtenstein

Ringier Studios Zurich/Vietnam has a new owner: Fritz Kaiser. The Liechtenstein entrepreneur and investor purchased Ringier Studios from Ringier.

As of April 1, 2013, Ringier Studios is Liechtenstein-based. The company, which is headquartered in Zurich and has a production and programming center in Saigon, Vietnam, will be wholly owned by Fritz Kaiser, the wealth management entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist, according to a press release. Kaiser is co-founder and Executive Chairman of the Kaiser Partner Group, which provides wealth management and asset management services to wealthy private clients and family offices. Kaiser Partner employs 220 people at its offices in Vaduz and Zollikon and manages around 25 billion Swiss francs in assets.

Fritz Kaiser has long been concerned with the structural changes brought about by the internet. He sees how it is rapidly changing entire industries and is convinced that digital product visions and digital design are playing a growing role: "E-commerce and e-knowledge are the new winners. We buy books, tickets and clothes online and access information conveniently on our mobile devices anytime and anywhere." At Ringier Studios, he sees great creative potential in the field of digital design.

Ringier, as the previous owner of the start-up Ringier Studios, is delighted that a new owner has now been found for the young company who wants to exploit this market potential for third-party customers. Ringier CEO Marc Walder: "Fritz Kaiser is an entrepreneur with an impressive track record. His vision is to use digital applications on mobile devices in the financial services sector as well. Ringier Studios will be able to benefit from Kaiser's entrepreneurial know-how." Marc Walder will join the Board of Directors of Ringier Studios. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

No round table to save St. Paul's printing house

The fate of the Paulus printing plant in Freiburg appears to be sealed: Following a refusal by the *Freiburger Nachrichten*, the Freiburg government has decided not to organize a roundtable discussion to save the Saint-Paul newspaper printing plant.

The conditions for a successful outcome of the round table discussion are not given, the government wrote on Tuesday to the address of the Syndicom trade union. Syndicom and the personnel committee of the printing company had requested such a round table from the cantonal government in February. All parties concerned were to work together to find solutions for preserving the 50 jobs at risk. The background to this is the decision by the Saint Paul Group to close the newspaper printing plant at the end of 2014 because its most important customer, the Fribourg News, will in future have the newspaper printed by Tamedia in Bern (Werbewoche.ch reported).

Those affected were supported by 11,500 Fribourg residents who had called for a Fribourg solution for the Fribourg newspapers in a petition. As it became known on Tuesday, the board of directors of the Fribourg News is sticking to its decision. The Fribourg government therefore justifies its rejection of a round table with a lack of perspectives and a lack of room for negotiation.

The Syndicom union is sticking to its demand despite the negative decision, as it announced on Tuesday. It is still possible to find a way "that will bring the planned savings to the Fribourg News and guarantee the survival of the newspaper printing at St-Paul in the coming years. Both are prerequisites for a secure independence of the Fribourg local press, "which we see endangered by the dependence on the media conglomerate Tamedia." (SDA)
