Dachcom.Digital: New virtual dress for FCSG

The Swiss football club FCSG has a new online presence. Dachcom.Digital has created a website for FC St. Gallen that combines visual and functional values.

The design transfers the graphic elements of the new CI/CD, which was created by the lead agency Dachcom.Digital, into the virtual world and is intended to sharpen the communicative profile of the traditional club. The structure of the new website has been revised and expanded compared to the previous version. In addition, a live ticker provides comprehensive coverage during matches.

SNK stages mysterious terracotta warriors

The Bern History Museum is showing an exhibition on the history of China entitled "Qin - The Immortal Emperor and his Terracotta Warriors". The Zurich branding agency SNK is responsible for the conception and implementation of the campaign.

Since this week, the posters, TV spots and e-board clips can be seen throughout Switzerland. With five key visuals in five different colors, the poster campaign picks up on the diversity of the figures. The dark, luminous colors, the color gradient and the lighting are intended to reinforce the mysterious aura of the terracotta warriors of the First Emperor of China. The color spectrum is based on the colors used to paint the terracotta figures around 2,000 years ago.

The TV spot and the e-board clips also celebrate the mysterious nature of the clay warriors: the camera scans the surface of an entire terracotta figure and ends up focusing on the back of the head. Only a surprising turn at the very end allows a brief glimpse of the warrior's face. A teaser that invites the viewer to encounter the ten terracotta figures "Face to Face" at the exhibition in Bern.

BBC sells Lonely Planet publishing house at a high loss

The BBC is selling the travel publisher Lonely Planet, incurring a significant loss in the process. The U.S. media group NC2 Media is paying the broadcaster’s commercial arm about 60 percent less than the British company had paid in total for its acquisitions in 2007 and 2011.

The purchase price amounts to 51.5 million pounds (equivalent to just under 73.5 million Swiss francs), as BBC Worldwide announced on Tuesday. The publisher no longer fits into the strategy, it said. BBC Worldwide rejected criticism of the loss-making deal. When Lonely Planet was bought, the economic situation was completely different.

BBC Worldwide had already encountered headwinds when it purchased the travel book series, which enjoys cult status among backpackers in particular. The division is normally responsible for marketing BBC productions profitably. The supervisory body BBC Trust has already commissioned an investigation.

The "Lonely Planet" travel book series was launched in the early 1970s by Australians Tony and Maureen Wheeler in their kitchen in Melbourne. They wrote about their own travel experiences. To date, around 120 million books have been printed in 11 languages. Some of the books have also been published in German. In recent years, the publishing house has focused primarily on expanding its digital business. (SDA)

Promoswiss under new management

At the general meeting on March 15, 2013, Promoswiss members elected Roger Riwar as their new president. The promotional products entrepreneur will thus take the helm of the industry association representing Swiss distributors and manufacturers of promotional products.

The most important item on the agenda of this year's General Assembly at the Museum of Transport in Lucerne was the succession plan for Marcel Spiess, who has been Promoswiss President for many years. With Roger Riwar, the current Vice President and Head of Finance, the members of the Promotional Products Association elected a proven industry expert as their leader, according to a press release. Under his leadership, Promoswiss will continue to be a competent association for the Swiss promotional products industry.

Roger Riwar has been in the promotional products business for more than 30 years and has never regretted it. "Promotional products are my life," says the new Promoswiss president. Together with his wife Liz, he has been running his own trading company Racol Partner, based in Rotkreuz, since 1994. His commitment to Promoswiss is very important to Roger Riwar: "Our association helps promotional products achieve the status they deserve". What he particularly appreciates about the Promoswiss industry association is the opportunity to network with each other - and with distributors, suppliers and manufacturers.

Neo Advertising advertises with "Walk Through" for Tag Heuer

To mark Carrero's 50th anniversary, Neo Advertising is decked out the auto show in Tag Heuer's colors. The agency is promoting Tag Heuer with the «Walk Through» branding zone.

The setting is one of the main passages of the Geneva Motor Show between two large exhibition areas (Hall 5 and Halls 6-7). Every year, 700,000 visitors and more than 10,000 media representatives from all over the world stream through this corridor. It is 100 meters long and has been wrapped in the colors of the watch brand, achieved through two installations: The lining of the floor, walls and ceiling and a digital display composition of fourteen 55-inch screensall. The whole is supported by acoustic effects typical of the brand.

The digital displays comprise two series of seven perfectly synchronized screens each, arranged to accompany visitors as they walk in either direction. The soundscape, limited to the screen area - a reference to the ambience of the brand's boutiques - underpins the dynamic content of the displays and highlights the preciousness of the different watch models, the agency said in a statement Tuesday.

Draft/Lowe Zurich: A series of subjects for Theater Rigiblick

Draftfcb/Lowe Zurich has found and implemented the right motif for every event at Theater Rigiblick this March. The motifs will be used both as cards and online in March.

Under the title "Es Lied für de Franz Hohler", artists such as Linard Bardill, Big Zis, André Desponds, Tinu Heiniger, Dodo Hug and Efisio Contini serenaded the Swiss author on his 70th birthday on March 6. This was followed on March 7 by "Tatort" actress Eva Mattes, who took her audience on a journey through 40 years of German theater and film history. At the end of March, the Absolut Trio will also present "Vom Wiederkehrenden" with a new composition by David Sontòn Caflisch.

The subjects are designed accordingly: When Franz Hohler celebrates his birthday, the most important author's tool sometimes replaces the candles, the "Tatort" actress brings her own file full of life stories to the reading, and the Absolut Trio receives a unique string bow for its composition.

Responsible at Theater Rigiblick: Daniel Rohr (theater manager), Brigitta Stahel (deputy theater manager). Responsible at Draftfcb/Lowe Zurich: Dennis Lück (ECD), Tizian Walti (text/concept), Stephanie Lang, Javier Santillan, Ranja Issa (graphics), Sven Germann (photographer).
