Exxtra: Subject for "Das Zelt" realized

Exxtra Kommunikation has developed a motif designed to whet the appetite for a Delizio coffee during the interval of "Das Zelt".

Since 2002, "Das Zelt" has been touring Switzerland every year, bringing the biggest Swiss comedy stars to the stage. Numerous music acts are also on the program of the mobile cultural platform. And it offers not only cultural highlights, but also culinary ones: menus or aperitifs before the show and various refreshments during the breaks between performances. As a long-standing partner of the tent city, Delizio treats the audience to fine coffee delicacies at the Delizio Bar. To make guests aware of this, Exxtra Kommunikation has developed an advertisement to whet their appetite for a coffee break with Delizio.
The subject appears in the program booklet of "Das Zelt", which is inserted in various print titles.

Evoq wins another mandate from SBB

After four years, Evoq will continue to maintain a presence at all major train stations in Switzerland. The Zurich-based agency was once again awarded the project as part of the new tender for the Swiss Federal Railways’ Trafimage station maps.

In addition to the team's experience and process reliability, the innovative concepts for the further development of the product were the decisive factors in the project submission, according to a statement from the agency.
SBB offers various maps and plans relating to public transport under the name Trafimage. Evoq developed situation maps for this purpose, which use three-dimensional representations to provide information about public transport services as well as gastronomy and shopping at Swiss railroad stations. With over 50 station maps realized, Evoq's 3D maps represent a nationwide information system that is constantly being expanded and updated. It is therefore not surprising that the system is on the shortlist of this year's Gute Gestaltung competition organized by the German Designer Club.
The newly awarded mandate includes the regular maintenance and expansion of the existing Trafimage program until 2013. The graphic, editorial and technical development of the entire system are also an integral part of the mandate.

According to the agency's press release, Ospelt intends to use the new umbrella brand to better focus on the needs of its customers and make it easier for them to find their way around the company's various offerings. On the other hand, it will concentrate forces, improve the impact of communication and greatly reduce the need for coordination. This increases the chances of being better perceived in a competitive market and also saves costs.

Bern government council supports Canal 3

The Government Council of the Canton of Bern is supporting the bilingual private radio station Canal 3 in Biel with an annual grant of 37,500 francs. However, due to the spending freeze in effect until the end of the year, the first payment will not be made until 2010.

With this contribution, the cantonal government is recognizing the important role that Canal 3 plays in maintaining bilingualism in Biel/Bienne, according to a statement published by the canton of Bern on Thursday. The financial support is made possible by the law on the special status of the Bernese Jura and the French-speaking minority of the district of Biel.
The broadcaster had already received cantonal and communal subsidies until 2004. However, following the takeover by Espace Media Groupe in 2005, Canal 3 relinquished this support, as the cantonal government also announced. In 2007, Biel-based Radio Bilingue SA took over the majority of the station's shares.

Update develops new website for SIG

With a new website, the Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities (SIG) aims to improve networking and communication among its community members. The site, realized by the Zurich media agency Update, also offers a wealth of information about the Jewish community in Switzerland.

The website, which was launched at the end of October, contains countless factsheets about the rites, holidays, regulations, activities, concerns and organization of the religious community. In addition, all SIG statements and speeches by its exponents on current topics are linked. A "date calculator" for converting the Jewish calendar into the Gregorian calendar and an event agenda round off the online offer.
The new website is also intended to optimize the networking and communication of Jewish organizations in Switzerland. By the end of the year, an intranet for the association's bodies with comprehensive document management and an appointment calendar for different authorization groups will be launched. An important part of the redesign was a new draft of the outdated SIG logo and thus of the association's corporate design. As a result, all SIG stationery was also redesigned and produced.
Project Responsible: Regula Späni (project management), Markus Hasler (design), Philipp Urlich (programming).

Four promotes Laax with a multichannel presence

The Zurich-based agency Four has been commissioned to promote the winter sports destination Laax. This follows the agency's implementation last year of an integrated communications strategy for the Swiss, German, and British markets.

Numerous measures are being implemented for the new season. All communication measures are based on a consistent, target group and market-oriented strategy. Print advertising materials such as the new catalog, for example, are primarily geared towards the needs of families. Younger target group segments, on the other hand, are addressed almost exclusively through online measures such as banners and e-mail marketing. The banners are used in the Swiss, German and Dutch markets.
Another focus of the communication is a broad-based, attention-grabbing poster campaign. In addition to differentiating, dynamic visuals from the ski resort, catchphrases matching the positioning can be seen. These are given an extended and new meaning by emphasizing individual letters of the word. In this way, important messages for Laax are conveyed quickly.

Times: Website becomes chargeable

Rupert Murdoch is getting serious: The Times of London website is to become the first online service from the News Corp. empire to be completely paid for.

In addition to the Times, its sister paper the Sunday Times is apparently also to disappear behind a paywall on the Internet, as Spiegel online writes. From next spring, 24-hour access to the website will cost the equivalent of one euro, the same price as the paper version. In return, readers will not only receive an e-paper of the current daily newspaper - which the Times already offers for 2.50 British pounds - but also a news website that is updated throughout the day. There will also be an Internet subscription for the Times - but the cost of this is still unknown.
Times editor-in-chief James Harding announced the news at a conference of the British Society of Editors. The Guardian had already speculated shortly beforehand that the move towards a completely paid-for service at the Times could be imminent.
According to the specialist service Paidcontent.org, the Times and Sunday Times will each have their own websites. According to the report, it was still unclear whether the Sunday Times would also disappear completely or only in parts behind a paywall. It was also unclear what would happen there for the rest of the week.
