Publicis: Migros Baby Club launched

Migros has developed a new customer engagement tool in collaboration with Publicis Dialog and Publicis Modem. With the «Migros Baby Club,» the Swiss retailer is targeting parents of young children up to three years old, as well as expectant parents. The club has its own website.

In addition to information, tips and contacts, product information and shopping opportunities are communicated. The Cumlus card provides access to the member area, which offers additional discounts, among other things. Offline measures in the dialogue area and a magazine are also used, as well as measures in retail and with partners. The club is to position itself in the further emotionalization of the customer relationship and provide transfer services to other product ranges. As a club for babies and toddlers, it will act as a link to Migros' Lilibiggs Club, which is aimed at children aged four to twelve.
Publicis Dialog accompanied the process and, together with Migros, defined the basic requirements and developed and implemented the measures. Publicis Modem was responsible for the complete planning and realization on the Internet.

Last but not least: Can George Clooney go to heaven?

George Clooney drinks Nespresso—who wouldn’t want a cup of coffee after seeing that? Now the Nestlé subsidiary is taking it a step further and sending the heavenly Clooney to paradise in its latest commercial. It’s just too bad that competitor Lavazza has already staked its claim to the “heaven” concept.

Lavazza has been advertising its products with heavenly scenes for over ten years. It is surely unacceptable that a competitor should suddenly come up with the idea of misusing the paradise theme. The Turin-based espresso company is therefore calling on Nespresso to withdraw its current campaign and is threatening to take the company to court. Nestlé does not want to know anything about the accusations. The industry service Horizont.net quotes from a statement by the company. The commercial is based on the original concept of the campaign. Well, there's no denying a certain similarity to the competitor's commercial. But does that mean the idea is stolen? After all, there are dozens of other food manufacturers who advertise with the same scenery. Are the angels from Kraft Foods no longer allowed to sit on the clouds and eat Philadelphia cream cheese?

Press Council: Weltwoche allowed to name the undercover investigators

This was the first time the Press Council had addressed the issue of undercover agents from the Federal Criminal Police (BKP). The Federal Office of Police (Fedpol) had filed a complaint against *Die Weltwoche* because the newspaper had disclosed the names and positions of three federal criminal police officers in an article.

The three police officers had worked in the FCO's undercover investigations unit, one as chief and another as deputy. Fedpol complained that the criminals could no longer work as undercover investigators after they were exposed in the article "The Roduner case. Irre Führung, amtliche Delinquenz" published by Weltwoche on January 22, 2009. The weekly magazine defended itself by claiming that two of the three were under investigation for forgery of documents, which they had allegedly committed in office. It was therefore allowed to mention their names. The Press Council largely agreed with the editors and dismissed Fedpol's complaint. Anyone who acts in an important state function in the dark room of undercover investigations must behave impeccably and in accordance with the law. If they fail to do so, they may be outed and publicly criticized. The Press Council also assumed that the two accused bosses were not acting as undercover investigators, but in an administrative capacity.

Unique: apple juice lets ski jumpers take off

Unikat has added another commercial to the campaign for the Swiss Fruit Association. Like the seven existing commercials, this one uses the tagline «Swiss apple juice is fabulous.».

In this commercial, too, the story takes a surprising turn, three to be precise, when the fictitious young ski jumper "Felix Locher" starts his jump and presents the judges with a few problems when it comes to style marks. The commercial will be shown for the first time on television during the broadcast of the FIS World Cup ski jumping competition in Engelberg on December 19/20, 2009. The commercial was realized with Manifestofilms under the direction of Reto Salimbeni and the production management of Shannon Mildon and Daniela Berther.
