Comqed Dialog: Campaign developed for GE Money Bank

Credit decision in 30 minutes. That is the core message of the current campaign by Comqed Dialog for the consumer credit company GE Money Bank.

No matter what one's needs are, GE Money Bank makes decisions flexibly, customer-oriented and quickly, the agency writes in a statement. Customers also notice this and today not only fulfill familiar consumer wishes such as buying a car or going on vacation - plans for the future such as getting married or expanding a home are also increasingly being realized through consumer loans. This clientele is explicitly addressed in the new GE Money Bank campaign. With subjects that consciously communicate the diversity of demand segments.
A broad segment of the communications keyboard is being played: From the classic print campaign in the daily press and magazines to nationwide billposting in all formats to megaposters in the biggest Swiss cities. Online communication is also carried out on the major news, lifestyle and sales portals, as well as on the company's own website with banner conversions.

The call for entries for the 8th Crea Credential Award is open

The Award for Agency Self-Promotion and Marketing recognizes the best strategies, initiatives, and campaigns for acquiring new clients from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Once again, agencies have the opportunity at this year’s Crea to showcase themselves and their successful client acquisition initiatives.

This year, for the 8th time, agencies from all disciplines of the communications industry can submit any kind of in-house marketing measures such as brochures, presentations, mailings, commercials, advertisements, posters, websites, PR measures and events that pursue the goal of customer acquisition. The closing date for entries is July 15, 2010.
For the first time this year, there will be a Crea Workshop after the competition. At this event, which is reserved exclusively for the agencies submitting entries, cherry pickers and several high-caliber clients from the jury will "talk out of the box" and teach the agencies what really matters when approaching and acquiring clients.
Also for the first time this year, the shortlisted agencies will begin their presentations with an agency film to give the jury an even better impression of the agency. A compilation of the films will then also be shown at the evening awards ceremony, which will take place on November 26, 2010 in Hamburg's Kehrwieder Theater.
Detailed information and the request for proposals documents are available online at Credentialaward.com.

TV industry predicts major changes

This was the conclusion reached by industry representatives at the 3rd IPTV Summit 2010 in Berlin. "Television as we know it will change massively. There will continue to be a certain form of linearity, comparable to the iTunes playlist. In the sense of a playlist, there will continue to be linear content. But the old-style program director who decides what the people have to watch will soon be a thing of the past," says Axel Schmiegelow, Managing Director of the video portal Sevenload, in an interview with Pressetext.
A Forsa study conducted in the run-up to the Summit revealed that half of internet users now consume television programs and videos online. Short video clips are currently still the most frequently viewed. One in eight people use download or livestream services for feature films and one in ten use live streams such as broadcasts of sporting events. It is therefore clear that web and IPTV is currently a rapidly growing market.
"Viewers can find a range of films and videos on the Internet that goes far beyond television and can often be accessed regardless of time and place. There is a wide variety of programs on offer today, and even more if you add pay TV and special-interest television. But this diversity is now changing its logic because it can increasingly be accessed on demand. That's why I'm sure that in two or three years' time, television as we know it today will no longer exist," explains Schmiegelow.
This is clear from the changes that broadcasters such as RTL have implemented. The media group distributes its content both via IPTV, for example RTL NOW, and via WebTV, for example Clipfish. In the social media sector, they have positioned themselves with wer-kennt-wen. This is also leading to a change for the advertising industry. "The market has become more complex. You used to reach 80 percent of the target group with just two TV stations and three newspapers. Today, the effort required to reach them is much higher," summarizes Tim Sticklbrucks, Managing Partner at Saint Elmo's Entertainment.
"The thousand-contact price is becoming less important. What counts nowadays is sales," Andre Zalbertus, then founder of AZ Media, is certain. Traditional advertisements may have a high reach, but they no longer attract attention and business. The use of moving images, which are distributed via social media channels, is now much more effective.

SLK: When is an action an action?

The term "promotion" cannot be used arbitrarily to communicate products. There needs to be a time limit and transparency about the reason for the price reduction. This is the conclusion reached by the Swiss Commission for Fair Trading.

A company had been publishing small advertisements with the words "Promotion" for months, writes the Commission for Fair Trading (SLK) in a communiqué. This form of communication was a thorn in the side of a competitor, who filed a complaint with the SLK. The SLK found "that the term 'promotion' is suitable for referring to a special offer that consumers understand as a price reduction during a specific and short-term period of time." Promotions are usually used to announce temporarily lower prices in accordance with Art. 16 and 17 of the Price Indication Ordinance. The consumer should be able to recognize which is the previously valid price and which is the currently valid price. Or at least it should be clear what the reason for the reduction is. Promotions are often used for product launches, sales or stock clearances. However, if the same products were advertised as a "promotion" for months, this would be contrary to the understanding of the average addressee. Even the statement "while stocks last" cannot justify a promotion if there is no actual time limit.
According to the communiqué, the First Chamber of the SLK is of the opinion that this type of communication is likely to cause the average consumer to misunderstand the advertised special offers: "It is at least a misleading statement about the company's own offer and the quantity in stock within the meaning of Art. 3 lit b UWG. The complaint must therefore be upheld," she is quoted as saying.

Last but not least: I like it - I don't like it

Anyone familiar with Facebook knows it: the «Like» button.

With a click of the mouse, you can tell the world that you like Gabi's new profile picture, the break-up of Beatrice and Ralf's relationship or the fact that Marco is currently @working. It's just a shame that this is only possible in the digital world, as one or two "like junkies" have probably already thought. There is now good news for them: The "Like" button has made it into the real world. And in the form of a stamp. Incidentally, it is also available in the "I dislike" version. This means that you can tell people whether you like or dislike something on paper without too much effort. Whether people have been waiting for this is questionable. What is remarkable, however, is that for a change, a thing has made the leap from the digital world to reality and not the other way around...

Petroplast Vinora: A different kind of carrier bag realized for Emmi

Petroplast Vinora has created a carrier bag for Emmi in the shape of a Caffè Latte cup.

Anyone talking about exciting advertising media today rarely thinks of carrier bags, according to a press release - wrongly so, as Petroplast Vinora proves. The aim is to emotionalize the Caffè Latte brand. Emotionalization at the POS is the basis for getting consumers excited about a product.
