SFLB: "Holidays without Facebook" launched for Switzerland Tourism

Innovative Facebook campaign for online junkies: the prize is a summer vacation without internet or cell phone reception - in a remote Swiss mountain hut. A relaxing vacation in pure nature guaranteed.

People are spending more and more time online. Now also on the move. For example, 1 million Swiss people surf the internet every day while on the move. "We want to show them that there is a whole other world than the online world - and it is much more relaxing," said Jürg Schmid, Director of Switzerland Tourism, in a press release. This is why Switzerland Tourism is running a major online campaign to give away vacations without Internet and cell phone reception. The prize is a week in the Seewli Hut in the canton of Uri. "There really is no cell phone reception there, let alone Internet," says Schmid. Nevertheless, the hut is never boring. There is a beautiful mountain lake nearby, lots of hiking opportunities and, above all, the winner of the competition can take ten Facebook friends with them. They might even become real friends in the mountain hut.

According to the press release, the "Holidays without Facebook" campaign is aimed at online junkies and is therefore also taking place online. Via Vacationwithoutinternet.ch Facebook users can connect with Sebi and Paul the two rustic mountain dwellers from last year's Steinträger and this year's Städtespot. Once you are connected to them, Sebi and Paul analyze your personal Facebook profile on their laptops: what you have posted recently or what pictures you have put online are revealed. Depending on personal usage behavior, the two then recommend the user to take part in the competition and take a vacation without the Internet. Or they give the user the most active Facebook friend who would benefit from a while without the Internet or a cell phone.

The campaign was created and implemented by Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett and the social media production company Smly.

Last but not least: The first screaming "Like" button

Those were the days when expectant parents in Israel drew inspiration from the good old Bible when choosing a name. Those days are definitely over—at least as far as Mr. and Mrs. Adler are concerned.

The young couple named their daughter after the "Like" button on Facebook: Like is her name, the little one. Facebook is creating revolutions today, is the father's reason for choosing the name. But that doesn't necessarily have to rub off on his daughter - he doesn't necessarily want to raise a revolutionary. The new parents have other reasons in store: "It's my girl, my love and I like her. And that's not all: they say they chose the name as a precaution; if all their friends and acquaintances click the Like button as soon as they see the first pictures of the baby, they might as well call the girl that. So all in all, the reasons follow a rather restrained logic, one is inclined to say. But since when do parents have to justify the name of their offspring? Celebrities are allowed to name their children Sunday Rose, Faith, Pilot Inspector, Fifi Trixibelle, Peaches Honeyblossom, Moon Unit, Ireland, Speck Wildhorse, Apple, or Poppy Honey Rosie with impunity - and nobody asks "why". Yes.

Who's Mcqueen Picture: Viral spot developed for Migros

Who's Mcqueen Picture produced a viral spot for Migros Cooperative Alliance promoting Migros' Quizmania campaign.

"It's allowed to be a bit spookey" - is what they thought when brainstorming for the concept development for this film, according to a press release from Who's Mcqueen Picture. Children playing the new Quizmania in the attic and perhaps diving deeper into the subject matter than initially assumed. Fortunately, everything dissolves in goodwill, because in the end you can see the Quizmaniacs together again happily.

The production was completed in just two weeks, including the conception phase, production, filming and production of the film, and with a lot of heart and soul, according to the press release. In addition to the brilliant idea, the casting of the actors and the location were decisive.

"Golden Windbag 2011": Consumers vote for the most brazen advertising lie

Who will receive the "Golden Windbag 2011"? Consumers can now vote online for a month to decide which food manufacturer deserves the prize for the most audacious advertising lie of the year.

The consumer organization Foodwatch has nominated five products:

- Activiathe probiotic fairytale product from Danone. The yoghurt cannot simply regulate digestion, as Danone suggests, according to a press release. Minimal effects are inflated to the maximum and sold at a high price.
- Ferdi FuchsStockmeyer's salty mini sausages for children. The Ferdi Fuchs sausages contained too much salt for a children's product - yet Stockmeyer advertised them as a "daily contribution to a healthy diet".
- Gourmet pots of fine pickles - Tradition on the outside, state-of-the-art food technology on the inside. Although it contains colorants and flavorings, Kühne sells the gherkins as an artisanal product with centuries of tradition and "the best natural ingredients" at a premium price.
- Milk slice from Ferrerothe chocolate cream cake for in between. "Tastes light. Does not weigh you down. Ideal for in-between meals", according to the advertising slogan - in fact, the milk slice consists of around 60 percent fat and sugar. In contrast, even some chocolate cream cakes are a diet product.
- Nimm2 from Storcksweets that are not only sweet, but also healthy. Children would learn that they could meet their vitamin requirements with sweets instead of fruit and vegetables. The added, supposedly "valuable" vitamins in Nimm2 are superfluous - and do not make the sweets any better.

Voting is now open at Abgespeist.de.

Miami Vice Scool

The Miami Ad School is considered the most creative advertising school in the world because its students win so many prizes. Now a Swiss man has also taught in Miami. René Eugster from Agentur am Flughafen was a lecturer for a week and interviewed the school's director Pippa Seichrist.

René Eugster: What can you tell us about the history of the Miami Ad School?
Pippa Seichrist: Talking about the future of the school is more fun than digging into the past. But perhaps more interesting is our motivation that led to the founding of the school in 1993. My husband Ron and I were both creative directors and we had the idea: let's start the school that we would have liked to have attended ourselves before we entered the industry. We then searched all over America for a suitable location and finally found what we were looking for in South Beach. We wanted to realize our dream here. In earlier times, our school building was a Masonic lodge, a Jewish temple, a theater and a Hispanic Protestant church. The place had great karma.

What concept did you use to build your new school?
The school is very practically oriented. We offer on-the-job training from the very first day. All tasks are projects that a young student at our school would also have to supervise in an agency. The teachers are also experts in the industry. We have a very close relationship with agencies all over the world. They support us by offering internships to our students and also regularly have their specialized employees work as guest lecturers at our school. We even work on real projects with these agencies and their clients. We have worked for Wendy's, Yahoo, The New York Times, Saturn, Dunkin Donats, Apple, Mini and most recently Starbucks. For our students, the school is the bridge between their education and their desired job. For agencies, our graduates are profitable right from the start. Our graduates don't need much additional practical training later on. They can be immediately assigned to a project. It's a win-win situation for everyone involved.

Guerrilla action: Ogilvy & Mather and Mattel play along with FCZ-FCB

Ogilvy & Mather and Mattel are proving that Scrabble can be played not only on cold winter evenings but also during heated championship battles: with a guerrilla marketing campaign at the Super League match between FCZ and FCB.

The game at Letzigrund was commented live on site by 48 Scrabble players, with various word combinations such as "Ole-ole-ole" or "We-will-be-champions". The Scrabble team from Ogilvy & Mather and Mattel included not only the creators of the campaign, but also an entire junior soccer team and numerous employees of the game manufacturer, according to a statement from the agency. After a training session of the team in the agency and a short rehearsal of the various game or word moves, the team had gone with their letters to the 48 seats near the Zurich south curve and there - directed by the game observer on the opposite side of the stands - laid their combinations brick by brick.

The campaign is intended to make it clear that Scrabble is still an extremely topical game even in the age of game consoles and online games.

Responsible at at Mattel: Bruno Gfeller (Junior Brand Manager). Responsible at Ogilvy & Mather: Gaby Zimmerli (overall responsibility), Patricia Ottinger (consulting), Thomas Bolliger (CD), Tino Heuter (AD), Markus Sidler (text).
