Missed the lunar eclipse? Catch up on Google

The lunar eclipse yesterday, Wednesday, turned out to be a disappointment. Lunar addicts and amateur astronomers can now at least view it on Google, or make their own.

In vain many have hoped for a clear view of the total lunar eclipse. In large parts of the midlands and eastern Switzerland, the "blood moon" was not visible. Clouds have obscured the view of the spectacle.

Because the full moon this time had moved almost exactly through the center of the earth's shadow, the total phase of the eclipse lasted particularly long this time. The next chance for a total lunar eclipse will be in 2015. If you missed the full moon yesterday, you can at least watch it on Google or make your own:

Search.ch modernizes brand and launches campaign

Search.ch is getting a new look and reinforcing its positioning with a clear brand strategy and a new, long-term brand design. This was developed in collaboration with the brand agency Schoch&Sonders.

The main message of the biggest campaign in the history of Search.ch is: "As up-to-date as it is fast." The media mix is based on a mixture of TV commercials (spot & sponsorship), Internet TV (Zattoo, YouTube), advertisements (3 subjects), online advertising including floating ads, mobile banners and screen advertising. However, new forms of media - such as the ePanel in various train stations - are also included as a supplement.

When developing the new brand design, great importance was placed on the core brand values of organization, contact and information. Accordingly, the new appearance is very structured and logical, the company said in a press release. Over the past few weeks, the brand has been rolled out to all measures of Search.ch's brand image. This ranges from the entire stationery to car lettering, website and sales documents.

Last but not least: The misogynistic Axe ad - or the humorous handling of stereotypes

In posters and a TV commercial, Axe promises women who are completely uninhibited to clean-shaven men. A women’s organization has filed a complaint against this. The reason for the complaint: The advertisement is «sexist, outdated, and unnecessary.».

The complaint against the Axe cosmetics brand's shower gel advertising was filed by the women's organization "Association vaudoise pour les droits de la femme" ADF. In an interview with 20 Minuten on Thursday, ADF President Martine Gagnebin-Chapuis said that it was completely unbelievable that something like this still existed in the 21st century. She finds the advertisement sexist and stupid. Furthermore, it is a sign of a bad product if a men's shower gel has to be advertised with a woman's body. In this case, the product does not actually have a very close connection to a woman's body, but the slogan does remedy this: "The cleaner you are, the dirtier it gets". In this way, the connection between the product and women is made clear. Will the slogan also ensure that the product is remembered?
But a weak link between the product and naked bodies is not reason enough to call the advertising sexist. The ADF's complaint is precisely about the fact that everything is advertised with half-naked women, whether shoes, cars or perfumes, even if there is no connection with the product. This is sexist, the ADF President told 20 Minuten. ADF President Martine Gagnebin-Chapuis and Maria Roth-Bernasconi, Co-President of SP Women, are therefore jointly calling for the creation of a central ombudsman's office to combat sexism. Axe cannot quite understand this uproar. They have been playing with stereotypes in a humorous way for years, says the press spokeswoman. Even if Axe's idea of humor won't necessarily break the laugh record, the definition of sexist advertising doesn't necessarily stand up to a critical look: "Depiction of naked female bodies with no connection to the product". Because not every depiction of naked skin is sexist. The key question is therefore rather: does it hurt, does it demean? The Fairness Commission will now have to answer this question.

Walder,Werber designs and realizes course book 2011/12 of AZ SBV

The Training Center of the Swiss Builders' Association publishes the range of training courses available to the Swiss construction industry in its annual course catalog. The AZ SBV once again commissioned Walder,Werber to design and produce the new course catalog.

Each year, the course book has a different theme, which is graphically designed accordingly. The current publication has the motto "Career Stories". It highlights 12 graduates of the AZ SBV with individual portraits. The target group - potential graduates of AZ SBV - is thus shown the possibilities offered by the training courses using practical examples. The stories are thematically aligned with the four sections of the course book and take the respective
training opportunities. The people portrayed are intended to give AZ SBV a sympathetic face. The stories were layout in the style of major Swiss daily newspapers in order to make the reports as authentic as possible.

Walder,Werber is responsible for the entire concept of the new course book, conducted the interviews, wrote the portraits and designed the corresponding pages in the course book.

Responsible at AZ SBC: Beat Jenni, Petra Brunner. Responsible at Walder,Werber: Sandro Walder, Reini Walder (overall management, consulting); Tobias Fluck, Michael Döös (graphics); Corsin Kessler (DTP); Valentina Röschli (text).
