New marketing concept at Radio 105

The partnership between Energy Media and Music First Network regarding Radio 105's marketing is being restructured. Radio 105 will handle its own marketing for traditional local advertising, while Energy Media will focus on the national marketing of traditional advertising offerings.

For a little more than a year, Energy Media marketed Radio 105's local and national radio spots and online advertising; Musik First Network was active in sponsorship for Radio 105 during the same period. Marketing will now be redistributed, the radio station announced Tuesday. In the future, Music First Network will market not only the national and local sponsoring offers, but also the classic radio spots and the Internet banners in the local market itself. With the new arrangement, 105 boss Giuseppe Scaglione wants to maintain personal contact with local advertisers.

Music First Network also continues to market the national and local sponsorships, promotions and special advertising formats of Radio 105, Radio Monte Carlo Swiss and Rock Nation. Energy Media focuses on the national marketing of Music First Network's stations' classic radio and online advertising.

With customers to the summit

With the «Race Against Cancer» bike race on August 27, the Cancer League is sending a powerful message against cancer for the second year in a row. The ride over the Gotthard Pass is open to individual riders and teams, from casual cyclists to seasoned pros. If you don’t feel fit enough, you can even rent an e-bike from the organizer—because taking part is what this race is all about. Werbewoche is also supporting the event: The first three teams to register using the keyword «Werbewoche» will receive a free one-year subscription to Werbewoche and Media Trend Journal as a reward.

Cancer - nomen est omen. The disease eats mercilessly into the body. Those who are lucky can contain the tumors for a while, but they can rarely be fought completely. Around 18,700 Swiss men and 15,750 Swiss women are newly diagnosed with one of the various types of cancer every year, men most frequently with prostate cancer and women with breast cancer. One in two men and one in three women will be diagnosed with cancer in the course of their lives, and 15,394 Swiss people die from the voracious growths every year, and the trend is rising. Since last year, cancer has even been the number one cause of death in the western world. In order to set an example against the disease and for those affected, as well as to support cancer aid projects and cancer research in Switzerland, the Cancer League has been running the "race against cancer" since 2010. The task: individual cyclists or cycling teams of three to six people conquer the old Tremola pass road from Airolo to the Gotthard Pass and back again - as often as possible over 12 hours. Participants can stop as often as they like, take a break or even push their bikes if they run out of breath. The teams can ride together or as a relay. The number of times the individual riders or teams make it back and forth is recorded, but there is no winner or prize. Instead, great prizes will be raffled off at the end among all starting numbers, such as watches or a sports check-up at the Hirslanden Clinic. Individual cyclists pay an entry fee of 2500 francs, teams 5000 francs. The money is donated without deductions to Swiss cancer projects and cancer research. This year, the proceeds from the race will be used to help cancer patients in financial need and for research into rare cancers. The teams can choose which of the two projects they would like to support. If you don't want to cycle, you can take part in the guided walk "On the road against cancer". The hike leads from Airolo along the old mule track to the Gotthard Pass. The path crosses the Tremola several times, so that hikers and cyclists meet again and again. The entire hike takes just under four hours; if you wish, you can take a shuttle bus back to Airolo at the Motto Bartola stopover. Hikers do not have to pay an entry fee, but donations of any amount are very welcome. Those who are not enthusiastic about cycling or running can also support the athletic teams with a donation. A donation form can be found on the website www.raceagainstcancer.ch.

Weltwoche: Martin Wagner resigns as Chairman of the Board of Directors

Martin Wagner, a Basel-based business and media attorney, is stepping down as chairman of the board of directors of *Weltwoche*. He said he realized that his election campaign and his role on the *Weltwoche* board were incompatible.

According to Weltwoche publisher and editor-in-chief Roger Köppel, Wagner had offered his resignation at the end of August in order to be able to concentrate fully on his election campaign as FDP national council candidate in the canton of Basel-Landschaft. According to SDA, Köppel confirmed a corresponding report by the online portal of the Aargauer Zeitung on Friday. In legal matters, Köppel intends to continue to seek advice from Wagner and his firm. He has always had an excellent working relationship with Wagner, he says.

Wagner was also publisher of the Basler Zeitung for a few months last year. He recently hit the headlines with criticism of the SVP and its mastermind Christoph Blocher. Blocher is poison for Switzerland, and the "Blocher principle" is inhumane, he said in an interview with Sonntagsblick.
