Wirz: Patgific is only in Graubünden

Denmark has «hygge,» France has «savoir vivre»—and Graubünden has «patgific.» The word describes a peaceful, cozy way of life and the idea that you shouldn’t always take everything too seriously. Wirz captures this spirit in its new campaign for Graubünden Ferien.

GRAUBUENDEN_Patgific_KeyVisual

In Graubünden, Graubünden residents describe peaceful and comfortable moments with the word "patgific". But patgific is actually much more: an attitude in an increasingly complex world. An attitude that always lets you see the good in a situation. And that's exactly why you should take a vacation in Graubünden, to recharge your batteries.

Gian and Giachen and a hibernation
The patgific campaign is launched with a film featuring the cult ibexes Gian and Giachen, who wonder what is 100 percent patgific. Giachen has an idea.

At the same time, the competition "Winter sleep" goes on air, in which there are three patgifice Maiensäss for the cold winter months to win. The destinations Engadin St. Moritz, Engadin Samnaun Val Müstair, Disentis Sedrun, Bergün Filisur, Savognin Bivio Albula, Surselva, Vals and the RhB would also present further "patgifice" offers throughout the winter, according to the statement - from leisurely snow hikes to relaxing wellness days.

The campaign will be in operation throughout Switzerland from Wednesday.

CH Media removes two technical journals from its range

The publishing company CH Media is also feeling the impact of declining advertising revenue in its technical trade journals. As a result, two of its five titles will be discontinued, and two positions will be eliminated.

chmedia-fachzeitschriften

According to a press release issued on Thursday, the advertising revenues of technical journals have been falling steadily for several years in line with the general industry trend. Due to the loss of income, the consolidation of the portfolio of technical journals is imperative.

Some topics and headings of the titles concerned Bâtitech and House tech would be integrated into the continued titles HK-Gebäudetechnik, ET-Elektrotechnik and Planer Installateur by the end of February 2021. In the case of the French-language magazine Bâtitech this is done in German, a spokeswoman for CH Media wrote in response to an inquiry from the Keystone-SDA news agency.

According to the press release, all previous magazines enjoyed a loyal readership and stable readership figures. However, advertising revenue has eroded by double digits in recent years.

By bundling the topics in the three remaining technical journals, CH Media announced that the aim was to maintain the future viability of the specialist titles. As a result of the merger, two redundancies have been announced, with a social plan being applied. (SDA)

The ConferenceArena is moved

In light of current developments, ConferenceArena is postponing the trade show, originally scheduled for February, to June 2, 2021.

Conference-Arena-2020-45

The aim of ConferenceArena as a trade fair for business events is to be a pioneer in terms of trends and innovations. However, despite the hygiene concept, this ambition must take a back seat to the more important factor of protecting everyone's health. For this reason, the trade fair management led by Managing Director Roger Schaer has decided to postpone the ConferenceArena to Wednesday, June 2, 2021, as detailed in a press release.

"It is important to us that participants and exhibitors can visit the trade fair without any worries and experience the usual unique atmosphere of the ConferenceArena in the StageOne live," explains Schaer. "We assume that this will be the case again in June with the vaccination due in the near future and rising temperatures." According to Schaer, a purely digital event has been discussed, but the industry thrives on personal encounters.

With a hybrid format, visitors will also have the opportunity for the first time to take part in the trade fair not only live on site, but also completely digitally in a live stream via the Plazz mobile event app.

Jung von Matt Brand Identity: Budget for the Bachelor

To make the University of Zurich’s student loan program more appealing, Jung von Matt Brand Identity developed a catchy name and a new visual identity.

Pecunia_Logo

Pecunia is the new name of the loan service offered by the Student Financing Office of the University of Zurich UZH. The office advises students on all financial matters from scholarships to budgeting. To communicate the offer with more conciseness and publicity, Jung von Matt Brand Identity developed an adequate name and a fresh appearance.

Pecunia non olet

The appearance of Pecunia is intended to stand up to providers from the private sector and be clearly recognizable as a UZH service. The Latin name signals the academic context of the offer and is derived from the Latin proverb "Pecunia non olet", i.e. "money doesn't stink". Pecunia supports students in losing their shyness about financial issues and in actively dealing with financial matters.

Objectivity paired with coolness

The singular use of the primary color blue, the serif font of the UZH brand, and the color emphasis of the word part "Uni" underscore the loan offer's affiliation with the University of Zurich. At the core of the appearance is a key visual consisting of a word mark and a changing icon. The two elements are complemented by concise messages and a graphic line grid.

The result is an easy-to-maintain appearance that is intended to express academic objectivity and student coolness at the same time through its reduction. In addition to the brand design, Jung von Matt Brand Identity realized Pecunia's website as well as templates for social media posts.
