Marc Walder

Marc Walder (*1965) took over as CEO of Ringier AG and Chairman of the Group Executive Board in April 2012. Under Walder, Ringier AG was systematically diversified and digitalized: Ringier invested heavily in the two areas of Digital Business and Entertainment. In 2013, Marc Walder initiated the idea of a "Digital Zurich 2025" project to make Zurich the digital capital of Europe together with representatives of the city, the canton and business leaders. Marc Walder is the designated Chairman of the Board of Directors of the joint venture between Ringier, Swisscom and SRG for advertising marketing. He has always been performance-conscious: the tennis pro traveled the world on ATP tours for eight years before deciding to attend the Ringier School of Journalism in 1993. The start of his picture-book career took place at the Blick Group. He gained his first experience there, including as deputy editor-in-chief of SonntagsBlick and head of sports for the group. From the turn of the millennium, the dedicated journalist was editor-in-chief of Schweizer Illustrierte. His promotion to Editor-in-Chief of Ringier's flagship SonntagsBlick was a journalistic career highlight, especially as Walder also took over the journalistic management of the Blick Group in 2007. Just one and a half years later - after completing the Advanced Executive Management Program at Harvard Business School - he was appointed CEO of Ringier Switzerland and Germany and a member of the Ringier Group Executive Board. Learning by doing could be the principle of success for this ambitious leader, who reached his career peak in April 2012 when he was promoted to CEO of Ringier AG. The pragmatic publishing boss also reconciled his favorite activities in his private life - as a member of the board of trustees of the Laureus Foundation Switzerland.

Natalie Rickli

Natalie Rickli (*1976) has been President of Aktion Medienfreiheit since 2014, which she founded in 2008 with the then FDP National Councillor Filippo Leutenegger. The association is committed to strengthening the diversity of opinion and the media and fights for better framework conditions for private media companies. How the power woman reconciles her diverse political and professional activities remains a mystery, but she masters both with extraordinary success. Natalie Rickli began her career with a commercial apprenticeship at the Fenaco agricultural group, where she got a taste of the publishing world and trained as a publishing assistant, teacher and later as a marketing specialist. After moving into the world of advertising, publishing and the Internet, she joined AdLink Schweiz AG via the former Qualiclick AG and IDG-Verlag, where she headed up the website team. In mid-2009, she moved to what is now the Goldbach Group and took on projects in Strategic Partner Relations Management as a member of the management team. Her career on the political stage developed in parallel to this straightforward ascent: Rickli became involved in the Young SVP as early as 1996, quickly rising from secretary to managing director and taking over its presidency for three years from 2000 onwards. The political shooting star served as a municipal councillor on the Winterthur municipal council from 2002 to 2007, served as a Zurich cantonal councillor from mid-2007 and was elected to the National Council in October of the same year with the best result of all candidates. She is as committed as she is authentic in her commitment to the interests of her constituents, brings momentum to political life as a member of various parliamentary groups and also likes to advocate unconventional positions.
