Nexum launches redesign for Tempobrain

As part of a comprehensive redesign, Nexum developed a new brand identity and website for the staffing agency.

tempobrain_logo_narrow

The redesign is intended to visually support Tempobrain's image as a specialist for innovative solutions in personnel leasing and job placement. The new claim "Clever minds. Strong jobs" is reflected in the new red and blue look of the logo. Clear typography and individually designed icons round off the modern corporate design. In addition, business cards, Word and PowerPoint templates were redesigned and a style guide was created.

The new website is intended to generate more leads and show more presence. A target group-oriented approach, intuitive user guidance and a modern look and feel should contribute to this goal. The agency implemented all relevant work steps from conception and creation to content transformation and migration. The optimal design of the user experience for both target groups, applicants and companies, was the central focus.

An automated job subscription, via which job seekers receive suitable job offers directly by email, is intended to make the job search more convenient, and job advertisements for Tempobrain consultants are now automatically integrated directly from the central recruiting platform. The technical implementation was carried out using the open source CMS Drupal 8.

Omnicom Media Group Switzerland introduces annual working hours model

Omnicom Media Group Switzerland now offers its employees an agile working time model that reconciles the interests of the company with those of the employees and is based on a culture of trust. Employees can organize their own working hours flexibly in the course of a flexitime model.

onicom-media-group

This is based on the legally applicable provisions and the contractually agreed terms of employment. Each employee is largely free to determine his or her own working day within a predefined time frame. The electronic recording of working hours, rest periods and absences provides employees and supervisors with an insight into the hours worked at any time. If the limits are exceeded, the employee, in agreement with the supervisor, takes measures to compensate for the hours worked.

Jens Brecht, CEO Omnicom Media Group, said in a statement: "The introduction of the flexible working hours model gives employees much more freedom in their choice of working hours and more personal responsibility. In addition, we have created a modern home office arrangement, which gives our employees additional freedom and scope to also work flexibly in terms of location. This is always provided that the work is done and accessibility is guaranteed."

The advertising firm makes every day a little better with Orangina

The advertising agency not only created the design for Orangina’s new limited edition, but also—in conjunction with the message «BetterDaysWithOrangina»—developed a flexible and modular communication concept intended to further establish the brand as a «love brand,» a strategy that extends beyond the limited edition.

Efficient implementation and simple linking of the measures was an essential aspect of the concept from the outset.

The different bottle designs are not only intended to inspire visually, but also to carry the positive message to the consumer in an understandable and simple way - Orangina makes every day a little better. A direct connection to the brand is created, but there is also room for personal interpretation, which also encourages consumers to act as carriers. Consumers, their days and moments are as individual as the designs.

The campaign will be visible with an OOH digital campaign at the most important train stations in Switzerland. Classic poster sites and POS measures will also be used.

Together with the social media agency Monami, the campaign was also optimized for the social media channels in order to create interaction and reach. Additional incentives such as promotions and prizes were also created to act as multipliers.

Kieser Training and Home Zurich provide posture

The back care specialist, based in Zurich, launched a campaign promoting good posture—and rewarded participants with subscription items from Tamedia. The campaign was made possible by the innovative use of smartphone technology.

190418_kieser_board_without-title

Anyone who observes their fellow human beings on public transport, on sidewalks or at work quickly realizes: we have a posture problem caused by smartphones. The omnipresence of these devices means that we spend an ever-increasing proportion of our daily lives with our heads bent. This position puts many times more strain on the cervical spine than an upright head position.

For over 50 years, Kieser Training has been a specialist in health-oriented strength training to strengthen the entire musculoskeletal system - with a focus on the back and neck. With the agency Heimat Zürich, the Swiss strength training pioneer has been fighting posture-related health problems right where they arise over the past few weeks. And he did so with an educational campaign that rewarded upright posture while reading on a smartphone. Where readers would otherwise encounter a paywall, Kieser Training made readers aware of their unhealthy posture. If they corrected it, Kieser Training offered free access to the otherwise paywalled article. Andreas Schweizer, Head of Marketing/PR at Kieser Training, says: "With this campaign, we demonstrated our innovative strength directly in addressing our target group. We wanted to sensitize all readers to improve their posture - and to draw attention to the fact that Kieser Training is the answer to posture-related health problems."

The campaign developed by Heimat Zürich was implemented in close cooperation with Tamedia. Technology was used innovatively in several ways. The idea is based on a simple observation: the angle at which a smartphone is held is directly related to the posture of the smartphone user. The more upright the smartphone, the more upright - and therefore healthier - the posture. The position of the smartphone is recorded via the sensors of the gyroscope built into iPhones and Android devices. This campaign is the first time that a brand has used the paywall of the Tamedia network publishers as a touchpoint for an interactive advertising measure. Sam Stadtmann, Key Account Manager of Tamedia Advertising: "This campaign proves that creative advertising on digital channels can add value for the user and thus have a positive impact on the advertising brand at the same time. It also shows what is possible when the client, agency and publisher work closely together."

Natural? Of course! Polyconsult launches image campaign for Swiss sugar

Consumer surveys show that granulated sugar has an artificial image, although it is actually obtained from the natural sweetness of sugar beets. On behalf of Schweizer Zucker, Polyconsult wants to dispel these prejudices by means of an image campaign.

With the development of a strategic repositioning, the agency was able to convince in the pitch. Swiss sugar is positioned as a foodstuff made from a natural raw material and the sustainable production method is demonstrated.

This resulted in two spots that take place in the beet field - where the sugar grows. The two short stories tell of encounters at the edge of the field that revolve around the sugar beet. The claim "Naturally natural" is intended to show in a catchy way that Swiss sugar is naturally from nature.

The spots have been on TV and online since the end of April. Accompanying advertisements showcase the natural sweetness from and with Swiss roots.

Equipe promotes the "strongest" mobile subscriptions in Switzerland

The Equipe agency created a campaign for the telecommunications provider Quickline to promote the new mobile subscriptions.

Equipe_Quickline-Mobile_01-F12

The Swiss telecommunications provider Quickline offers its customers new mobile subscriptions - tailored to their specific needs. Under the motto "Strong mobile subscriptions for your everyday life", the Equipe agency launches a broad 360-degree campaign. At the heart of the campaign are three visuals - photographed by Jonathan Heyer - showing people in their typical everyday lives making phone calls and surfing the web. Among them is one of Switzerland's strongest men: swinger and Quickline brand ambassador Christian Stucki.

The visuals can be seen on posters, traffic boards, flyers, at the POS, and on digital advertising media. Entertaining GIFs were created for communication on social media - and a spot is running on the radio throughout Switzerland to promote the new mobile subscriptions.

Equipe_Quickline-Mobile_03-POS

The most important part of the campaign is the direct mailings for existing customers. Here, after extensive market research, physical and digital mailings were created for different target groups - segmented by age and usage behavior. They are sent to over 130,000 people in Switzerland. So that everyone gets exactly the mobile subscription they really need.

New association aims to promote greater media diversity

A newly founded association called «Pro Idée Suisse» aims to promote media diversity in Switzerland from its base in Bern and to fight against the increasing centralization of the media in Zurich. A support committee made up of prominent figures is helping the cause.

proideesuisse

The motto of the new association is to promote a diverse Swiss media landscape and a public service that takes account of the country's federalism.

The initiators can count on a prominent support committee: With Albert Rösti (SVP), Gerhard Pfister (CVP), Regula Rytz (Greens) and Martin Landolt (BDP), four Swiss party presidents are represented. Vice-President Beat Jans from the SP will be there, along with many other national and Bernese political celebrities. The association will campaign for its concerns at a political level and also raise awareness among the general public with targeted communication measures.

The board also includes two former SRG executives, Peter Salvisberg (former editor-in-chief of Schweizer Radio International/Swissinfo) and Markus Mugglin (former editorial director of "Echo der Zeit"). Bernese media lawyer Willi Egloff will also provide support and Béatrice Wertli, President of the CVP Canton of Bern and former Secretary General of the CVP Switzerland, will ensure contact with the political world. Discussions are underway with personalities from French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino. The founding of the association was prompted by the SRG's decision to cut staff at Radio Studio Bern.

For years, the SRG had the addition "Idée Suisse" in its name. "Our association name is the program and of course we want to remind the SRG of its tasks with its former name," says Peter Salvisberg. The SRG in particular must act in a federalist and not centralist manner. Markus Mugglin: "The concentration of media in Zurich is alarming for Switzerland, and we want to use our possibilities to counteract this".

This is an argument that SRG has repeatedly put forward: Political reporting is being stepped up in Bern. According to the two media professionals, this is "whitewashing": a look at the figures shows that this is by no means the case: SRF TV's parliamentary editorial team is to be given five new jobs. And a new 15-strong cross-language editorial team is to be created.

"On the other hand, 170 radio employees are being relocated from Bern to Zurich, which is almost the entire information department of Radio SRF," say the two former SRG executives. However, the association is not only concerned with saving the Bern radio studio, but also with the fundamental problem of media concentration, as media diversity is a guarantee for democracy. The association has published its concerns on the Proideesuisse.ch website.

Climate Youth, Sir Mary and Shining Pictures activate parents for climate demo

The Swiss Youth for Climate wrote a letter to their parents. The media across Switzerland covered the story, and over 50,000 people attended the climate protests—with the parents’ generation particularly well represented.

Klimajugend-Sir-Mary-Shining-Pictures-02

In the run-up to the climate demo on April 6, the Swiss Climate Youth wrote an open letter to their own parents and informed the media. With the headline "We ask you to wake up!" Blick picked up the story: "In an open letter, the View present, the demonstrators are calling on mothers and fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers to join them." 20 minutes immediately printed the entire letter and reported, "Dear parents please fight with us for a future!"

Klimajugend-Sir-Mary-Shining-Pictures-03

Then the young people turned the letter into an online video. "Wachet uf!" reported, for example Watson and headlined, "With this video, the climate youth wants to bring their parents to the demo."

After all, more than 50,000 people took part in the climate demonstration on April 6 throughout Switzerland; in Zurich alone, 15,000 took to the streets. And there was unanimity about how the large march came about. The Daily Gazette wrote: "For this climate demo, the organizers have tried to mobilize especially children and their parents," and confirmed: "Among the participants of the second Saturday demo are many children and parents."

Exactly the same the NZZ: "What was striking on Saturday was that the generation of parents and grandparents was also strongly represented." The Bernese Newspaper: "For today's climate march, the organizers specifically called on parents to accompany their children to the demo. The call seems to have succeeded." Or the Aargauer Zeitung: "It was striking on Saturday that the parents and grandparents generation was strongly represented."

Online media and television stations are no different. Nau reported from Basel: "The young climate activists recently urged their parents to also take to the streets against climate change. In Basel, their call was heard." Swiss Television: "Not only schoolchildren should demonstrate this time, said an appeal by the movement distributed in advance." And TeleZüri: "Now the parents are marching along."

AI model "RealTalk" perfectly imitates speakers

The artificial intelligence (AI) system «RealTalk,» developed by a U.S. company, realistically mimics the voices of celebrities. The AI model has now imitated the voice of U.S. podcast producer Joseph Rogan almost perfectly.

kuenstliche-intelligenz-stimme

"Clearly, the social implications of speech synthesis technologies are enormous," the developers said. Users can take a quiz on the website to see if they can tell the difference between the fake voice and the real Joe Rogan.

Photos and videos only

"In the area of photos and videos, we have already come so far that manipulations can hardly be detected. The voice is just another step in this direction, which, in addition to positive applications, could also be misused," describes Werner Purgathofer from the TU Vienna's Visual Computing & Human-Centered Technology research department in an interview with the Pressetext news agency. Even the media would then find it difficult to determine what is original and what is fake.

Despite the risks, RealTalk manufacturers emphasize the positive aspects of such developments. These include more realistic AI assistants, faster and more accurate dubbing for TV and movies, and personalized support for people with speech disorders. In terms of detailed information about the technology, the company is keeping mum. It does not want to publish the research in order to prevent potential misuse.

Shortly before breakthrough

"Right now, technical expertise, computing power, as well as data are required to make models like RealTalk work well," the company says. "In the coming years, we will see technology advance to the point where only a few seconds of audio material is needed to create a lifelike replica of anyone's voice," the developers add. (pte)

SRG German-speaking Switzerland seeks successor to Roger Blum

Roger Blum, the ombudsman for SRG Deutschschweiz (SRG.D), is stepping down from his post at the end of his regular four-year term. The Public Council of SRG Deutschschweiz has decided to split his position into two part-time roles.

ombudsmann

The two positions will each have a salary of 30 to 40 percent, SRG.D announced on Tuesday. They will be filled from April 2020 and have been publicly advertised. Blum will continue to make an important contribution to the exchange between the broadcasters and the audience in the remaining months, Susanne Hasler, president of the SRG.D audience council, was quoted as saying in the statement.

Roger Blum took office on April 1, 2016, succeeding Achille Casanova. From 2008 to 2015, he was President of the Independent Complaints Authority for Radio and Television (UBI). Prior to that, he already served as SRG's deputy ombudsman for three years. Blum also served as president of the Press Council from 1991 to 2001.

The ombudsman is the first point of contact for complaints about radio and television broadcasts and the rest of the journalistic offering of Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF). He, or in future the two persons, will examine the complaints and mediate between the parties involved. (SDA)

Ruf Lanz serves very fast food for the VBZ waiting time

The latest ad in Ruf Lanz's multi-award-winning VBZ campaign shows that anyone waiting for a tram or bus in Zurich can't even finish half a serving.

Ruf-Lanz-VBZ-2019

The streetcars and buses in Zurich arrive at very short intervals. This has earned Zurich's public transport company the reputation of having the tightest timetable in Europe. The latest VBZ motif dramatizes this customer benefit in a surprising way.

It appears on double-page and full-page advertisements in 20 minutes, on the backs of all VBZ Züri-Linie vehicles and in channel-specific adaptations on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
