Teads presents new format InRead Social

With "InRead Social", Teads presents a new format with which brands can now embed their social ads in premium content outside of Facebook and Instagram for the first time.

Teads_inRead_Social_Hipro

The new product allows advertisers to extend their creatives from social media campaigns to Teads' premium publisher platform. To do this, brands can embed a Facebook post or Instagram video into the editorial content of Teads premium publishers. There is no need to customize the ad media to do this. InRead Social is designed to be a powerful, seamless addition to brands' social media activities.

In the first 100 days after launch, Teads converted more than 100 video campaigns from brands around the world. On average, the in-view time for InRead social campaigns was 7.6 seconds (verified by MOAT). One of the reasons the new format has better in-view time compared to in-feed advertising is because users spend more time on content in premium publisher environments. With social feeds, on the other hand, faster scrolling behavior has been observed.

"Social media giants like Facebook and Instagram make it easy for advertisers to spend the lion's share of their budgets on campaigns within the platforms, as their large data sets and global reach make them an attractive proposition. But it's time for brands to have an alternative in the marketplace that allows them to reach new audiences outside of the walled gardens and achieve better visibility while being cost effective," said Todd Tran, chief strategy officer at Teads. "With InRead Social, advertisers can take advantage of a 'curated garden' where they reach interested users in premium as well as brand-safe publisher environments."

An open-world game overcomes press censorship

In the fight against censorship, the NGO Reporters Without Borders has created a Minecraft library that makes censored articles freely available anywhere in the world.

In collaboration with the company Blockworks, the NGO has opened the gates to the Minecraft digital library for the World Day against Internet Censorship. In the library, journalists can publish and distribute censored articles in their home countries. At the moment, the library holds 200 books, but more are to be added steadily.

In addition to an entrance hall with information on press freedom, the building includes five other rooms, each dedicated to a country. In Egypt, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Vietnam, censorship is still a major problem. This makes it particularly difficult for the younger generations to form their own opinions. The in-game library is supposed to make that possible now, since Minecraft is mainly played by younger generations.

24 Minecrafters from around the world completed the library, which consists of more than one and a half million building blocks, in just over three months. Among them is an art director from the DDB Berlin agency, which is responsible for the idea and concept.

SDV Award implements vernissage and exhibition of works online and virus-free

The exhibition of the submitted works and the opening reception for the SDV Awards on April 2 at the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich have been canceled due to the coronavirus. The works will be presented online—virus-free.

sdv-vernissage-absage

170 creative dialog marketing works have been submitted as part of the SDV Award 2020. However, the exhibition of these works will not take place in real space this year. The organizers, together with their premium partner Swiss Post, have decided to cancel the vernissage on April 2, 2020. This also applies to the premium partner's planned evening event.

Despite the corona virus, the submitted campaigns are to be given a befitting platform. Organizers, sponsors and premium partner are working together on an online alternative and thus on an exhibition of a somewhat different kind. Further information on this is to follow.

The winners of an award can currently still expect to receive their awards at the SDV Award Night on June 11, 2020 in the Maag Halle in Zurich.

Because of Corona danger: SRF thins out audience series

The coronavirus is also affecting Swiss Radio and Television (SRF): For television shows with a live audience, every other seat will remain empty effective immediately.

theater-575816_1280

With immediate effect, SRF will significantly reduce the number of guests admitted to all productions with audience participation, SRF announced on Wednesday upon request. It thus confirmed a corresponding report from Nau.ch.

Viewers in the studio or on location for outside productions will be seated at least one chair's width apart. Affected are for example "Arena", "May I have the pleasure?", "Persönlich" and "Sportpanorama".

The goal, he says, is to keep the productions in their original format as much as possible. SRF is constantly monitoring developments. In an emergency, it will also dispense with audience participation altogether. (SDA)

Felber, Kristofori and SIX make paying easier

Digitalization leads us to believe that, in the future, life will run automatically with the tap of a finger or the click of a mouse. In SIX’s campaign for the new QR invoice, Felber, Kristofori, and MyGosh present three short stories that highlight the pitfalls of digitalization.

SIX_QR_Sujet_VRBrille

From the end of June 2020, the new QR-bill will build bridges from the analog to the digital world, replacing all previous payment slips. The Swiss QR Code, which contains all relevant information about the biller and bill recipient, is intended to make payments simpler, more convenient and more efficient.

Digitalization affects all areas of life

Digitalization is a topic that is currently affecting practically all areas of everyday social life. It often gives the impression that everything will work automatically in the future and that it will practically take care of our lives and work by itself. However, the reality is different. Digitalization ensures that we are constantly learning new things and that we have to deal with new things. And this is what the campaign for the QR-bill, developed by Rudy Felber and Ralph Halder and produced by Ilonka Galliard, aims to dramatize.

Simple-numbers.ch

With an online campaign consisting of video clips and banners as well as advertisements in selected media, the Swiss population is being made aware of the new QR-bill with immediate effect.

All video clips, banners and advertisements lead to the Microsite Einfach-zahlen.ch. Among other things, the Swiss population can find out what the new QR-bill looks like, how it works and what advantages it offers. An explanatory video shows how easy it is to pay the QR-bill.

Ford develops virtual racing car together with gaming community

Under the project name "Team Fordzilla P1", Ford is inviting computer gamers to participate in the development of a virtual racing car. With this campaign, the company wants to demonstrate its customer-centric design thinking in the digital world.

Fordzilla Logo1

Ford's first virtual racing car is being created from scratch and not based on an existing model series. The people involved in the design of the car include the respective captains of Ford's existing five Fordzilla e-sports teams from France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, which Ford launched last year.

The Ford of Europe design team is also interested in further contacts within the gaming community. "Developing a racing car for the virtual world with no taboos is where the gloves come off and the design team can really let their imagination run wild. The input of experienced gamers is also crucial in ensuring that it will be the most desirable car to choose from," says Amko Leenarts, Director Design at Ford of Europe.

The designers want to involve the entire gaming community in the creative process, for example through a series of Twitter polls posted by @TeamFordzilla. Each poll relates to key design attributes, from the engine to the cockpit shape, which gamers can help decide on.

Ford's progressive, human-centered design approach is intended to ensure that the driver's perspective is taken into account at every step of the development process. Work on the project will begin in mid-March and can be followed via @TeamFordzilla on Twitter and Instagram channels.

Coop Bau+Hobby & Dreifive start the spring interactively

Coop Bau+Hobby and Dreifive are jointly launching an interactive spring landing page featuring a click-to-chatbot and a mini-game.

Bau-und-hobby-Pressemitteilung_Desktop_V1

Together for more sustainability - this is the mission of Coop Bau+Hobby 2020. To convey the topics of resource conservation, biodiversity, species protection, and climate protection in a user-friendly way, Dreifive worked with Yes!devs to design an interactive landing page that playfully provides users with information and encourages them to participate.

The heart of the landing page is a click chatbot on the topics of "sustainability," "plants," "herbs," "vegetables," "bees" and "upcycling. With the bot, users can playfully "click" their way to information, tips and tricks on the various topics in a kind of interactive dialog.

The use of so-called conversational landing pages ensures above all intensive consumption of the content presented and thus also a long dwell time. Through the interaction with individual chat contents and the self-determined consumption of further content strands, the user engages with the content in a particularly sustainable manner and retains an above-average amount of content in the head. In addition, the application is particularly user-friendly on mobile devices, since individual subpages no longer have to be reloaded or tabs opened and closed again.
The aim of the landing page is to create more awareness in the area of sustainability through infotainment and also to provide expert knowledge on the subject of the garden world. In addition to the chat content, there is also a mini-game with instant prizes and a main prize draw, as well as other advice topics and product promotions. The site is advertised cross-medially.

With the launch, Coop Bau+Hobby and Dreifive want to respond to the changing needs of online users who want to actively participate rather than just passively consume.

Zorica Jurkovic: "We are very pleased that we can spread the topic of sustainability in a very modern and innovative way via the Conversational Website. We hope this will introduce users to the topic in a playful way and raise their awareness even more - in the spirit of infotainment."

canneslions-(1)

In a statement on Wednesday, the organizers write that they are continuously monitoring the situation. The new alternative date is intended to secure the staging of this year's Cannes Lions in any case, should further developments make a staging in June impossible. In case of a staging in October, tickets, sponsorship arrangements and bookings would remain valid.

The public will be informed of any postponement of the festival no later than April 15. Weekly updates on the status of the event shall also be provided in advance. Regardless of the event date, all submitters should continue to follow the previous process and schedule. (pd/swi)
