National budget gain for Kommpakt and Zeix

The Baden-based agency Kommpakt, in cooperation with the Zurich-based agency Zeix, prevailed over its national competitors in a multi-stage selection process for a WTO tender and won over the jury with its concepts.

kommpakt-logo-zeix

At the beginning of December 2020, the Baden agency, in cooperation with Zeix, was awarded the contract for the prevention campaign "Safe and Healthy Leadership", which is jointly sponsored by the Federal Coordination Commission for Occupational Safety (EKAS), the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention (BFU), Suva and the Swiss Health Promotion Foundation. The campaign covers the years 2022 to 2024, with an extension option to a maximum of 2026.

Promoting safety and health in 400,000 small businesses

For the first time, five major players in Swiss health promotion are launching a joint campaign. The prevention campaign "Safe and Healthy Leadership" closes the supply gap in terms of knowledge and offers of workplace health promotion for small companies in the service sector with 2 to 9 employees.

The prevention campaign targets around 400,000 small businesses with their approximately 1.1 million employees. These companies are active in the service sector, ranging from health practices and engineering firms to small businesses and transport companies. Such microenterprises are typically characterized by a simple structure in which one manager usually combines many managerial activities. The high workload results in an undersupply of knowledge on occupational safety and health.

With a campaign concept for a precision landing

Kommpakt and Zeix were already convincing in the first round of the multi-stage selection process. The jury, made up of members of the sponsoring organization, justified its decision in favor of the two agencies by stating that the submitted campaign concept had achieved the highest score in all selection criteria and that the winning concept also addresses the target group of micro-enterprises at eye level.

In the coming months, Kommpakt and Zeix will develop a broad-based campaign and a user-centered web platform to provide the heterogeneous target group with suitable prevention offers by means of a quick test and an advice page. The prevention campaign will be developed in 2021 together with the sponsoring organization, a group of experts and a peer group of members of the target group, and launched in spring 2022.

Responsible at the sponsorship: Peter Schwander (EKAS). Responsible at Kommpakt: Martin Perini (Senior Consultant Public Relations, Partner), Jörg Krummenacher (Chief Creative Officer, Partner), Luca Belci (Junior Consultant Public Affairs), Sophie Fischer (Interaction Designer). Responsible at Zeix: Andrea Rosenbusch (User Experience Architect, Partner), Gregor Urech (User Experience Architect, Partner), Esther Brunner (Chief Interface Developer, Partner), Tobias Leuenberger (User Interface Designer).

Bern-based company Adannoncen specializes in online and offline advertising worlds

Barbara Schmideder, Felix Heidelberger of Tolega, and Erwin Gross of IMS Sport are founding Adannoncen. The new company specializes in all aspects of advertising placement, both online and offline.

When does advertising work? When it is good and ideally timed in the right channels and media. The latter is just as much an art as creating the advertising - both online and offline, as Adannoncen writes in a press release. The brains behind the newly founded Bern-based company have mastered both worlds when it comes to advertising placement and want to help SMEs in particular.

The trio of Adannoncen founders complement each other perfectly, as the press release goes on to say. Erwin Gross has extensive experience in marketing and publishing as the owner and Chairman of the Board of Directors of IMS Sport; Felix Heidelberger is well versed in digital marketing with Tolega and Barbara Schmideder - who manages Adannoncen as Managing Director - worked for many years in leading positions in the advertising industry and knows the needs of customers very well.

Two worlds that complement each other

The name Adannoncen is based on the one hand on the great days of print advertising in Switzerland, the advertising business. On the other hand, it is preceded by the English "Ad", which symbolizes the digital component in the media mix. "We want to offer our customers impeccable professional advice and support with regard to traditional and digital media. We therefore combine two complementary worlds with Adannoncencen. We ensure that our customers are hybrid in terms of advertising and can go full throttle with a good feeling," Barbara Schmideder is quoted as saying in the press release.

According to the advertising specialist, the fact that customers can use ads to organize their marketing efficiently plays a decisive role. "Because, as mentioned, we use all channels and can therefore provide our customers with comprehensive support. And because we offer all the services and products required for successful advertising in terms of consulting, implementation and controlling."

Support and transparency

"Opening up the digital world is part of our core offering. Many SMEs in particular are unsure about this because they lack the relevant know-how. We want to help them find an optimal media mix with our advertising consultancy. We take care of the planning, implementation and support of the measures. And we do this in such a way that our customers also stand out online and achieve their advertising goals," emphasizes Felix Heidelberger.

In addition to SMEs, the company also targets all other companies in Switzerland that place advertising orders of any kind, says Erwin Gross. "We specialize in particular in complex print planning and national and regional political campaigns. With headquarters in Köniz near Bern and a branch in Affoltern am Albis, we also focus on the major regions of Bern, Zug and Zurich."

He previously worked for Philip Morris International for around eight years. Klicker-Brunner now heads the department at PepsiCo and assumes responsibility for Public Affairs. Accordingly, from now on he will focus on the dialogue with stakeholders and decision-makers from politics, business and society. "In the past, PepsiCo has not been particularly present in the public debate on the relevant issues of our time, and has also not been open enough to discussions and impulses from outside," says Klicker-Brunner. "In the future, I would like to give the ambitious agenda of the world's food company a face to stakeholders and decision-makers in this country as well, and promote exchange and cooperation."

Bernexpo tests new "SafeZone" sensors in Bern City Council

Bernexpo, the Bern-based trade show organizer, has teamed up with partners to develop a device designed to make live events possible again during the COVID-19 pandemic. Last Thursday evening, members of the Bern City Council had the opportunity to test it.

As the office of the Bern City Council announced on Thursday, the device is called "SafeZone". It flashes if the wearers of the device disregard specifications previously entered into the system, such as minimum distances and the duration of a contact. The sensors measure the distance to each other once per second.

In a description of the device, Bernexpo writes that the Swiss Covid app covers the public space. The use of "SafeZone" makes sense where there is controlled entry and exit. Bernexpo thus "brings back the joy of the live event." According to the manufacturer, data protection is guaranteed. The system records anonymous encounters, distances and durations.

On February 1, the Bernexpo Group had announced that it wanted to expand its core business with new, digital business areas. In the future, it also wants to offer visitors to events "beneficial, digital services via state-of-the-art and mobile communication channels. (SDA)

The first online review can kill products

The first user-generated online review of a product on platforms such as Amazon is given undue importance. This is shown by a study from the University of Florida (UF). That’s because this review often seems to have a lasting influence on whether and how other users form their own opinions.

customerrating-mockup

In the worst case, this leads to a product failing. It would therefore be important for companies to pay more attention to the initial review on platforms. Customers, in turn, should not only compare reviews on a website.

Evaluation guide function

Sungsik Park, now a doctoral candidate, had noticed that the same product had sometimes wildly divergent reviews on different platforms. His question here: "Why would a product achieve a 4.7-star rating with 100 reviews on Amazon, but only four or five reviews with two stars at Walmart or Best Buy?"

Park and his colleagues analyzed the reviews of identical products on Amazon and Best Buy. In the case of vacuum cleaners, for example, 30 percent of the models offered on both platforms have a good initial rating on one platform and a poor rating on the other.

That allows for a good comparison of how it plays out. "The first review can potentially influence the complete evolution of customer reviews," says UF marketing professor Woochoel Shin. That's because, according to the study published in Marketing Science, the first review can influence both the number of subsequent customer reviews and their tone, and it does so over three full years. The former is related to the fact that a bad first review leads to fewer purchases, meaning the product has less chance of further reviews.

Do not compare one-sidedly

Ultimately, this means that ratings on a single platform do not provide a clear picture. "We want customers to know that this information is easily distorted," Park emphasizes. Anyone who wants to make a truly informed buying decision should compare reviews from multiple platforms - after all, a second site could present a completely different picture of the same product.

For companies, on the other hand, it would probably make sense to rethink their strategies for dealing with online reviews. After all, they do monitor them. "But they focus on the review average, not a single rating, and only after customers have had enough time to evaluate the product," says UF marketing professor Jinhong Xie. It would be important to react quickly to one particular review, namely the first one. After all, a poor initial rating literally cries out for measures to be taken to counteract its possible effects. (pte)

Thjnk continues entrepreneur campaign "Why not." for Credit Suisse

The ode to visionaries and hard-working entrepreneurs goes into the second round. After the launch of the communication platform "Why not." for entrepreneurs, Thjnk Zurich is now continuing the campaign for Credit Suisse.

CS_BfU_Herz_eciRGB

The campaign launched in 2020 will not only be expanded to include new image images, but additional product themes will also be included. "In this way, Credit Suisse is consolidating its positioning as a 'bank for entrepreneurs', focusing on the innovative and courageous mindsets of entrepreneurs," says David Schätti, Head Marketing Initiatives & Advertising Switzerland at Credit Suisse.

The nationwide campaign is a song of praise for entrepreneurs. With innovative subjects placed in a supposedly contradictory context, the inspiration moment for entrepreneurs is visualized. "For example, entrepreneurs see how heart tissue can be made from a 3D printer or sustainable sneakers from PET. This is how we illustrate the entrepreneurial mindset and the creative idea behind 'Why not.'" explains Sandra Biering, Head Marketing Initiatives & Advertising Premium/Corporate/Institutional Banking at Credit Suisse.

As part of the campaign, Entrepreneur Day will also be held on February 20 in 2021. Together with its partners, Credit Suisse aims to give entrepreneurs the ideal start by offering free company start-ups. In addition, there will be other offers for existing SMEs.

The multi-stage campaign, which consists of an awareness, consideration and performance tier, has been running since Monday with data-driven digital, social, TV, print and POS ads segmented by target audience.
