SFLB: The end of the world also has advantages

The world will end this Friday - at least that's what the Mayan calendar predicts. A current ad by Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett for Chocolat Frey shows that the end of the world can also have its advantages.

You can eat as much chocolate as you like - the next summer is not coming. And therefore no need to cut a fine figure in a bikini or swimming trunks. So next time you're in Migros, you won't have to decide whether to take the truffles, the chocolate almonds, the chocolate bars or the chocolate bars - you can just take them all. The ad appears a few days before the end of the world in the Migros magazine and in Sunday newspapers.

Responsible at MGB/Chocolat Frey: Jürg Spring (Head of Brand/Label Management), Roman Küng (Senior Project Manager M Branded Products). Responsible at SFLB: Diana Rossi, Simon Staub, Pablo Schencke (Creation), Johannes Raggio (Executive Creative Director); Michael Gassler, Nino Zuberbühler (Consulting); Erasmo Palomba (Art Buying); Armin Zogbaum (Photography).

SRG: two interested parties for WRS

As part of an effort to streamline its offerings, the SRG has confirmed its intention to privatize World Radio Switzerland (WRS) and is proposing two proposals to Bakom for the transfer.

At the request of the General Management and the Steering Committee for the WRS project, the SRG Board of Directors decided on Monday to consider the following two dossiers for the handover of WRS:

- The project of the (yet to be established) WRS Foundation of Philippe Mottaz, the current program director, and Paige Revillard, the deputy program director of WRS. An FM license is being applied for for this project.

- Anglo Media's project; the public limited company is prepared to make an acquisition with or without an FM license.

The SRG steering committee, which is responsible for the handover, attests to the high quality of these two projects, particularly with regard to the long-term fulfillment of the WRS mandate.

SRG will provide OFCOM with comprehensive information in the coming days; OFCOM will then inform the Uvek of the selection made. The latter will then decide on the next steps and, if necessary, initiate a procedure for granting the license. At the same time, the Federal Council will amend the SRG's license in order to release the SRG from its obligation to broadcast an English-language radio channel.

The transfer of WRS to the licensee is to take place in the course of 2014, but no later than December 31, 2014. Until then, WRS will be part of the SRG program offering.

Swiss radio and television are now uniformly called SRF

As part of media convergence, Swiss radio and television have been broadcasting under the uniform abbreviation SRF since Sunday. Radio and television will also have a uniform website.

The aim is for all SRF offerings to be clearly recognizable as channels under this umbrella brand. At the same time, the new logos are intended to express the different program profiles, according to a statement from SRF. With the new branding (Werbewoche.ch reported), today's Radio DRS 1 will become Radio SRF 1, DRS 2 will become Radio SRF 2 Kultur and DRS 3 will be renamed Radio SRF 3. The channels DRS 4 News (Radio SRF 4 News), Virus (Radio SRF Virus) and Musikwelle (Radio SRF Musikwelle) will also be renamed accordingly. SRF's television stations will also be given new names. The current channel SF 1 will be renamed SRF 1, SF 2 will become SRF zwei and SF info will be renamed SRF info.

In the case of Radio SRF 1, the program has been successively adapted since mid-2012. While information services have been strengthened in the morning program, a cooking section, a culture magazine and the portrait section "Herzblut" have been added to the program. At Radio SRF 2 Kultur, the program will undergo a number of changes towards the end of this year. In the coming year, Radio SRF 1 and Radio SRF 3 will also revise their early evening program (4 to 7 p.m.).

The website has been completely redesigned. The Srf.ch portal bundles the online content of radio and television for the first time. It replaces the previously separate radio and TV websites. SRF is taking account of changing user needs and is increasingly focusing on multimedia offerings, the press release continues. (SDA)

Last but not least: Winter cuddles at Christmas time

What do people want during the Christmas season? A peaceful time with family, gifts, and a decorated tree? That's all ancient history...

At least that's what the customers of the casual dating platform C-date.ch say. According to their survey, users are said to be most active during the Christmas period. "Instead of meeting up with their loved ones for a festive meal, they prefer to meet up with strangers for casual sex," according to a C-date press release. In this context, the media office also offered to arrange interviews with sex therapists, users or the operators of the platform.

A good 65% of the users surveyed stated in the survey that they would like to or do casual dating during the Christmas period. In addition, more women register on the platform during the Christmas period than during the rest of the year. "Women seem to be becoming more and more active in fulfilling their sexual desires," says C-date founder Heinz Laumann. Other statements by Laumann are quoted in this very well-founded study, such as: "Women have sex to feel closeness".

After these extremely ill-conceived statements and some not very well-founded study evaluations, our readers should of course not be deprived of the contemplative "Christmas pictures":
