Dachcom: Campaign for FC St.Gallen

To kick off the new season, Dachcom created a campaign for FC St. Gallen to promote season ticket sales and announce individual games. The team bus also got a new look.

Building on last year's campaign, the posters, advertisements and internet motifs are characterized by green graphic surfaces and a stylized photograph. Accompanied by the equally visual message "In the middle of the action", fans were encouraged to secure their season ticket early. As in the previous season, FCSG's home matches are announced via the familiar match posters, for which the players are shown in full action and with a strong focus.

Responsible at FC St.Gallen: Marco Huber (Head of Marketing), Brigitta Wegmann (Marketing). Responsible at Dachcom, Communication BSW, Rheineck: Pascal Rüegg (graphics), Ralf Bruggmann (text), Brigitte Mebold (project management), Jérôme Walz (customer responsibility).

Philipona, member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit Committee, has performed the duties of CFO on an interim basis since May. Rolf Lichtin studied business administration at the University of St. Gallen and has many years of experience in finance and human resources in the IT sector, as detailed in a press release. After completing his studies, he worked for Siemens Switzerland for 19 years in various management positions. Among other things, he was Commercial Director of Development & Production, the Engineering & Innovative Products Division and the IT Division. Rolf Lichtin then spent three years as CFO of Siemens IT Solutions and Services and Atos IT Solutions and Services before taking on the same role at Trivadis Holding.

Last but not least: The portable cola movie

Ogilvy & Mather New York created an interactive film for Coca-Cola: Each frame was printed on a T-shirt and sent out around the world.

The senders of the personalized shipment were people who help Coca-Cola every day to make the world a place of peace, joy and pancakes. Whether it was James, the Coca-Cola concierge from Atlanta, Paula, the Brazilian packaging designer or any other person who, in the opinion of the beverage giant, makes the world a little more beautiful and fun - they all received a T-shirt with a personalized thank-you card.

The 600 chosen ones were invited to take a photo of themselves in the shirt via webcam and upload it to the Wearablemovie.com to upload. Not all, but the majority have complied with this request to date and have thus brought the "Wearable Movie" to life. The missing images can still be added by the relevant people - perhaps numbers 345 and 539, for example, will decide to make their much-needed frame contribution after all. (hae)

Last but not least: Becoming a YouTube star with the periodic table

It’s often hard to figure out how hits on YouTube—such as «Gangnam Style»—come about. But these successes aren’t purely coincidental, says Webvideo.com.

The company has developed a YouTube periodic system that compiles the decisive factors to generate more clicks. Webvideo.com promises that success can be planned to a certain extent. For a better overview, the periodic table divides videos into three categories:

The focus is first on the individual video (red), then on the entire channel (green) and finally on viewer engagement in connection with the video (blue). This should make it possible to observe and optimize these areas individually. To show which of the factors are particularly important, they are also weighted differently. According to Webvideo.com, this makes it possible to quickly monitor the elements with the greatest influence across all categories and increase the success of a video. Andreas Graap, founder of Webvideo.com, goes even further: "With the YouTube periodic system, we provide a guide that clearly lists the success factors for videos on the platform."

Sounds promising. At least at first glance. But then you realize that the periodic table is not a tool for automatically assessing your own videos. Nor does it provide any tools on how to go about getting more clicks. The periodic table merely asks questions. For example, the title says: "How meaningful is the title?". Or the description says: "Is the description comprehensive?". Very meaningful. And comprehensively explained. (uma)

Federal Councillor Berset's Twitter account hacked

Federal Councilor Alain Berset's Twitter account has been hacked. As Berset announced on Twitter, someone else posted a message in his name. He deleted it immediately.

"This can happen: My account has been hacked," Berset wrote in French shortly before midday on Tuesday. He was not the author of the previous tweet that had been posted on his account. So he deleted it. Berset did not comment on the content of the deleted tweet.

In it, the hacker commented on US soldier Bradley Manning, who was convicted of copying thousands of US army documents and leaking them to the Wikileaks platform. However, the Home Secretary seemed to take the matter in his stride and reminded his followers of the golden rule when dealing with social networks: "Even in summer, change your passwords regularly." Econ: Newcomer agency of the year 2013

Econ Verlag is launching the "Newcomer Agency of the Year" competition. The application period runs from August 12 to October 31.

In addition to exceptionally creative campaigns, the young agencies also have to prove their economic success: How high is the fee volume? Which clients are there? How many employees does the agency have and how are they supported?

You are advertising: Oliver Voss won last year

Oliver Voss' agency won the award in 2012. The former Jung von Matt board member, who stands for claims such as "You are Germany" or "3... 2...1...mine!", impressed the jury with his remarkable work and rapidly growing sales figures. In his speech at the awards ceremony on February 1, advertising professional Voss immediately referred to his team as "newcomers": "The agency was recognized as a newcomer, not me as a person. The spirit of being a beginner again drives us and is great fun."

Newcomer agency of the year

Agencies that were founded after January 1, 2011 and have their headquarters in German-speaking countries are eligible to apply. Evaluation criteria also include: Quality of creative performance, self-promotion and PR as well as commercial success. Among other things, the winner will receive a voucher for 5,000 euros for competition entries in the Year of Advertising.

The Newcomer agency of the year 2013 is chosen by the jury of the Year of Advertising competition, portrayed in the 2014 Year of Advertising book and honored during the awards ceremony in February 2014. Econ Verlag has been awarding the title since 1991. In 23 years, 28 agencies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland have received the award - including Jung von Matt, Kempertrautmann (thjnk), Lukas Lindemann Rosinski, Heimat Berlin and Rod Kommunikation, Zurich.

Amazon boss Bezos buys Washington Post

The Washington Post is changing hands: It is being purchased by Jeff Bezos, the founder of the online retailer Amazon.

Bezos will take over the newspaper business from the Graham publishing family for 250 million dollars, the Post announced. Donald Graham, head of the Washington Post Company, cited the difficult situation in the newspaper industry as the reason for the sale on Monday. The Washington Post's circulation and advertising revenues had also shrunk.

"Bezos' unique understanding of technology, his business acumen, his long-term approach and his personal integrity" made him a particularly suitable candidate, Graham continued. As the media company emphasized, the Amazon founder is buying the newspaper as an individual and not on behalf of the world's largest online retailer.
"The values of Swiss Post will not change," Bezos promised confidently. The current managers are to remain in their positions, including publisher Katharine Weymouth and editor-in-chief Martin Baron. Along with the Washington Post, several smaller papers are also going to Bezos.

The Washington Post was owned by the Graham family for eight decades. Among other things, it became famous for uncovering the "Watergate" scandal, which led to the resignation of then US President Richard Nixon in the 1970s. Most recently, she contributed to reporting on the NSA wiretapping affair with revelations.

The listed Washington Post Company has been repositioning itself for years. It includes an education provider, local television stations and a cable network operator, among others. The company will change its name after the sale of the newspaper is completed, which is expected by the end of the year. However, a new name has not yet been found (uma/SDA).

Contexta: Senn-sei trains Michael Bless

Swiss wrestler Bless Michael hopes to defend his 2010 Swiss Championship wreath at this year’s ESAF. To help him achieve this goal, Contexta put the champion wrestler through a grueling training regimen with the ruthless coach Albert.

This resulted in an online commercial for Appenzeller cheese. Albert is an Appenzell alpine dairyman who, with his characteristic red jacket, has already made his always silent appearances in many TV commercials for Appenzeller cheese. As a master of silence, he does not make any big speeches. This has now earned him the parade role of the calm, experienced Senn-sei in his encounter with Bless Michael. An homage to traditional martial arts films, according to the agency. For Sensei is the name of the ancient masters of various martial arts. The short film tells in master-novice manner how Albert trains the wreath-wrestler Bless in his own way. At the end, Albert draws strength from Appenzell cheese.

The online spot is intended to underscore Appenzeller Käse's commitment to traditional customs - in this case, to the sport of wrestling.

Responsible at Contexta: Nadine Borter (overall responsibility), Tobias Wasmuth, Jan Ehrenreich (creative direction), Claudio Parente (art direction), Raphael Gammenthaler (text/concept), Christian Stocker, Tanja Jegerlehner (interactive concept), Leticia Perrenoud (screen design), Merlin Wälti (programming), Giuseppe Luciano (consulting group leader), Cyrill Kilchenmann, Sandra Imstepf (consulting). The students will spend four weeks practicing the journalistic craft. This year they come from Austria, Germany, Hungary and Switzerland, and there is also a Liechtensteiner in the group. The program of the International Summer Academy for Journalism and PR includes lectures and workshops as well as excursions to newspaper editorial offices and large
business enterprises in Liechtenstein. The course director for this training is the Austrian journalist and media trainer Claudia Schanza: "In the first three years, the cooperation with the two Liechtenstein daily newspapers worked out excellently. Our students prepared current topics, did street surveys and researched, photographed and wrote portraits of Liechtensteiners. The joy when a submitted report is published is always enormous and provides a great motivational boost.

Practice-oriented focus

The International Summer Academy, held for the fourth time, will take place at the University of Liechtenstein from August 5 - 30, 2013. The training is free of charge for the 12 young professionals.
