Last but not least: Astronomical external embarrassment
Former child star Miley Cyrus's VMA performance made headlines around the world. Now it has even reached outer space: Captain Kirk and his crew are taking on the case.
The lascivious, adolescent "look, I'm no longer a child star" hopping went around the world, not because it was particularly successful, provocative or erotic. It was because every newspaper had the opportunity to show Miley's butt squeezed into weird plastic pants that were far too tight. In large format, several days in a row. Everyone thinks it's wrong. And everyone likes to look at it when Hannah Montana has grown up.
At least this way, people on this side of the pond have once again been talking about one of the once so glamorous and influential MTV Awards. Nowadays, when Americans spend a few hours adulating themselves before honoring a mediocre actress like Selena Gomez as a musician, you usually don't miss anything.
Nobody on Earth is interested in any award shows these days (a few Americans prove the rule). A newly surfaced video shows that enthusiasm is also limited in distant space. The "Star Trek" crew actually says everything there is to say on the subject. (hae)
