Blu puts Casino Bad Ragaz in the spotlight

Casino Bad Ragaz is celebrating its tenth birthday: the gaming rooms and communication media underwent a facelift this summer. Blu has created a campaign for this.

As part of the in-house renovation, the communication presence has also been given a fresh look, as detailed in a press release. The main focus of the new brochures and posters is on short headlines, which are intended to create analogies to the casino world. Visually, a blue gambling carpet serves as the background, with the casino logo "woven" into it. In addition to the new print products, a public campaign, advertisements and press articles are intended to attract the attention of the public. The Blu communications agency is responsible for the overall concept and implementation.

Adello merges with HStreaming

Adello is merging with the U.S. company HStreaming—a provider of real-time big data analytics. The newly formed company will operate under the name «Adello.».

The move marks the preliminary completion of the transformation of the former Adello Group and its subsidiaries into a technology company, according to a statement. The previous HStreaming locations in Silicon Valley and Germany will be retained.

HStreaming is a leader in the Big Data industry and operates the world's fastest real-time analytics platform, according to a statement. HStreaming has received industry awards for this (Gartner Cool Vendor 2012 and CRN Emerging Vendor 2012).

The merger is a win-win for both partners. Mark Forster, CEO of the new company, is pleased about the merger: "The previous cooperation with HStreaming for our analytics platform was enormously successful. The closing of ranks with HStreaming not only secures important patents for us, but also brings together our two technology teams under CTO Volkmar Uhlig. The joint company will thus be significantly stronger. While the previous Adello team can focus on market service in the various countries, the new, significantly grown technology team also secures technological market leadership."

HStreaming's entire management team joins Adello's executive team. Volkmar Uhlig, who is known for his work on scalable low-latency systems at IBM Research in New York, takes over the CTO position at Adello and, together with Katrin Schulz, the management of the Analytics team. Jan Stoess becomes VP Engineering and is responsible for the development of the AdCTRL platform together with his team at the technology site in Karlsruhe. The former CEO of HStreaming, Jana Uhlig, will become Chief Marketing Officer of the Group as well as General Manager for Adello Americas.

Serranetga raises awareness for Reporters Without Borders

The international organization Reporters Without Borders campaigns for greater press freedom. In Switzerland, it is little known among its most important target group - journalists. That's why Serranetga has made media professionals the focus of the campaign.

Media professionals are addressed with a simple but important message: "Freedom of the press stops violence". Newspapers and magazines - the symbols of press freedom - act as a shield against violence. To launch the campaign, a special edition of the journalist's trade magazine Edito&Klartext was printed. Each magazine was shot through individually, with the resolution on the last and intact page: "Press freedom stops violence". The special edition was sent to major Swiss journalists and publishing houses. The corresponding campaign website Stopthebullet.ch informed about the work of Reporters without Borders and called for donations.

At the same time, a short film was produced in partnership with the newspaper Die Zeit. In it, a man uses a newspaper to protect himself from the fatal pistol shot of a violent attacker. The film can be seen on the campaign website and soon in selected Swiss cinemas.

Responsible at Reporters Without Borders: Bettina Büsser; Responsible at Serranetga: Pascal Deville, Samuel Textor (Concept/Creative Direction), Nicolas Hostettler (Project Management); Film production: Gabriel Sandru (director/cinematographer), Niels Vije (producer), Jürgen Kupka (grading), Arvo Pärt (music/ECM), Jingle Jungle (sound design).

Last but not least: A chair goes around the world

Even though IKEA furniture can be a pain to assemble sometimes—for some people, it’s a gateway to the world. At least in the ads.

The spot by SCPF tells the story of an old man who sits down on the same park bench every day - and one day discovers that his seat has already been taken by a couple feeding pigeons. In his time of need, the elderly gentleman doesn't eat flies, but drives to Ikea and buys a chair. The newfound freedom is soon no longer limited to the park, but draws ever wider circles.

The two-minute commercial not only shows that it's not unusual to start a new beginning with inspiring new furniture. It also shows that it's never too late to start something good. And most importantly, it shows that they don't last forever, nor do they age beautifully - thank goodness they're at least affordable for everyone the next time around. (hae)
