Repositioning tailored for Skirts

Kreienbühl and Vogler were commissioned to redesign the website for the Swiss fashion label Skirts.

While the Skirt label initially focused exclusively on designing skirts, the collections have been steadily expanded in recent years. Kreienbühl und Vogler was therefore commissioned with the repositioning of the entire brand. In addition to the logo redesign and the development of a claim, all business stationery, labels and packaging were also redesigned.

In addition, the website was completely redeveloped and, in close cooperation with the web agency Mitlinks, a web store was integrated where customers can purchase parts of the Skirts Casulal collection online.

Kreienbühl und Vogler also developed the invitation card for the fall/winter 2013/14 fashion show. This was wrapped with a fine thread - the same thread that was used for the current Skirts collection.

Oli Dischoe new Editor-in-Chief of Radio 1

Radio 1 has filled the top editorial positions. Oli Dischoe, who previously served as deputy editor-in-chief, will take over as editor-in-chief effective December 1, 2013.

Roger Schawinski commented in a press release on Thursday: "Oli belongs to that rare and precious species who, even as a teenager, had only one thing on his mind: making radio. With his 15 years of experience in the industry, he is therefore ideally equipped for this task. And as we have known each other for a long time, this makes working together even easier."

Jan Vontobel, who has held the position of Editor-in-Chief at Radio Top for almost five years, will become Deputy Editor-in-Chief. Jan Vontobel has a degree in journalism from the University of Zurich. The current Editor-in-Chief Nik Niethammer will leave Radio 1 at the end of November.

Last but not least: Is this a commercial?

The short film «Man in a Cube» is about a writer who lives inside a work of art in the middle of Astor Place in New York.

The writer Dave wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of the city without losing his creative energy. So he made himself at home in a 2.4m wide cube of black steel in the midst of the streams of passers-by so that he could write in peace without contact with the outside world. He only leaves the box at night.

In the cube, Dave finally and surprisingly discovers peace within himself - thanks to a special 60-second meditation. He no longer needs the box and moves out. The video ends with the logo of the Whil meditation technique.

Anyone who finds Dave's extremely realistically documented living space inspiring will be somewhat disappointed to hear that it is completely impossible to live in the cube. The writer Dave does exist, but the story is fictional. The operators of the platform Whil.com want to combat "technostress" with this successful video.

They also run a yoga and outdoor fashion label on the side. They seem to insist that this has nothing whatsoever to do with the movie. But they are certainly using it for advertising. (sis)

Erdmannpeisker: For every baby day

Bimbosan has been producing infant formula and bottle supplements since 1932. Its brand identity had not been updated for thirty years. Working with Quai72 and Erdmannpeisker, Bimbosan has now developed a new positioning strategy.

The baby food brand Bimbosan offers infant milk with nutritional additives for a wide variety of situations in everyday baby life: for stools that are too hard or too thin, for huge appetites, spitting up and cramps, and for sleeping through the night. Erdmannpeisker expresses this in the claim "Bimbosan. For every baby day."

For the new appearance, everything from the products to the communication was redesigned. The core of the appearance is the modern retro illustrations. Color codes on the packs help to distinguish the different products more quickly. The new appearance is applied cross-medially on all packaging, in advertisements, brochures and on social media. Also important for the relaunch of Bimbosan are specialists in pharmacies and drugstores, for whom a sales folder was produced and training sessions organized.

Responsible at Bimbosan: Daniel Bärlocher (CEO). Responsible at Erdmannpeisker: Gabriel Peisker (CD), Sybille Erdmann and Catharina Schütz (consulting), Patrick Fawer (art direction), Peter Rettinghausen (text).

Škoda comes to the door for a test drive

The test drive is a key moment in the car-buying process. The House Agency aims to take the test drive for Škoda’s Octavia to a whole new level of experience.

Octavia@Home simplifies the test drive procedure. Interested parties no longer have to go to the dealer for a test drive; the vehicle comes to the interested party. The pick-up location is either the home or work address.

Reservations can be made via the microsite Octavia-at-home.ch which, in addition to booking-relevant information, contains further content with social media links and is linked to Skoda.ch linked. For example, a tutorial clip, which was created using stop-motion technology and explains the idea in just a few moments. Or a Facebook application that documents the driving experience after a test drive.

Field agents accompanying the test driver can access all customer and booking data as well as information about the Octavia models via an iPad application. The test drive is concluded with an interview to determine the purchase potential and follow up. All profile details are made available to the relevant Škoda partners by postcode area.

The test drives will take place in the Basel, Bern, Lausanne, Lucerne and Zurich regions from October 14 to November 17. The campaign and booking start date is September 30.

"Best of Swiss Apps": Registration deadline extended

The "Best of Swiss Apps" Award 2013 extends the registration period by one week until October 7, 2013 - due to the unexpectedly high interest during registration and at the request of many entrants.

This will give the participants the opportunity to Bestofswissapps.ch to register additional projects or to complete open project registrations in peace.

Best of Swiss Apps" is all about the Swiss app economy. A jury of experts reviews the projects submitted. The goal of the organizers Simsa and Netzmedien is to present an annual showcase of the best Swiss projects, similar to "Best of Swiss Web," and thus give the still young industry a face. The award night will take place on November 20 in Zurich.

"The region" is called "The home" again

The Lucerne local newspaper "Die Region" was relaunched on Thursday under its old name "Die Heimat". Following financial problems, a new publishing company was founded for the newspaper.

The former publisher Regiomedia was in debt restructuring moratorium until recently. The company got into serious financial difficulties at the end of 2012. Its founder and long-standing editor-in-chief Peter A. Meyer had died the previous fall. The newspaper is now published by Heimat.ch, based in Zug. The employees have been given new contracts accordingly. Investors of the new owner are entrepreneurs from the Emmen region, as editorial director Christina Mattli said on Thursday on request. The publication of the newspaper has not changed.

The weekly newspaper covers the agglomeration communities of Emmen, Rothenburg, Malters, Schwarzenberg and the Lucerne district of Littau. It has been published since 1921 and was called "Die Heimat" until 1991. It was then renamed "Die Region". Since Thursday, the newspaper has had its old title again. The name change for the relaunch was made because the newspaper wanted to emphasize its local relevance and many readers still called the newspaper by its old name, Mattli continued. "Die Heimat" employs two editors and three production staff as well as several freelancers. The circulation remains unchanged at around 3,500 copies.

Loading ships instead of sinking them

Schmauder Rohr has produced the "Cargo Game" for the insurer National Suisse. It shows one of the challenges in transportation: Loading ships in port under time pressure without damaging the cargo.

As a transport insurer, Nationale Suisse is closely linked to the international freight business. Many claims occur during the loading and unloading of trains, trucks or ships. Nationale Suisse addresses this risk in the 3D game "Cargo Game". The "Cargo Game" app is based on the game "Cargo", which Nationale Suisse had developed by Schmauder Rohr for the special exhibition "Cargo - Fascination Transport" at the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne.

The aim of the game is to place a large number of containers on a cargo ship undamaged. Points are awarded for each successfully loaded container. Destroyed containers have a negative effect on the score, as is also the case with transport insurance. You can put your skills to the test on 20 levels. Those who successfully stack containers can enter their name in the online leaderboard. You can also share your score via Facebook and Twitter to compete with your friends.

The game is available free of charge for smartphones and tablets with Android or iOS. It can be played in the App Store or in the Google Play Store can be downloaded.

Responsible at Nationale Suisse: Melanie Rüde (project management). Responsible at Schmauder Rohr: Barbara Comiotto, Julian Kraan and Simon Broggi (consulting, game, graphics, sound and programming).

Swiss ticketing market in upheaval

Ticketcorner pioneer George Egloff is launching a new ticketing business model with the start-up Tixtec and wants to shake up the Swiss 100 million market.

George Egloff is a co-founder of modern ticketing in Switzerland. He was CEO and co-owner of Ticketcorner for 20 years. Now, three years after leaving the company, he is working with Tixtec to turn the Swiss ticketing market on its head.

While a large marketing apparatus with as many advance booking offices as possible used to open up new horizons in ticket sales, this has now shifted almost entirely to the internet, says Egloff. However, ticket sales via the event website are still handled in the background by the well-known ticketing companies and are therefore subject to distribution costs of up to 20 percent. Organizers could save these fees with their own sales solution.

According to Tixtec, there is still no pure self-distribution solution on the market in Switzerland. This is where the start-up comes to the rescue. With the SRO 4 platform from Toptix used by Tixtec, event organizers can save up to 90 percent of distribution costs, the company writes in a press release on Thursday. Tixtec is starting with seven employees and various external partners and is based in Pfäffikon-Zurich. Egloff expects to break even as early as the second financial year.
