More flavor than fits the motif

Thanks to a new recipe, Emmi’s classic mozzarella ball is now even creamier, fresher, and more tender—in short: it has more flavor. Scholz & Friends is handling the relaunch.

Scholz & Friends is making this more clear in a new production that takes the well-known phrase "enjoyment" quite literally. The new motif can be seen immediately as a poster and in other media from POS to online.

Republica: Mr. West goes "Back to the Future

He has been living at the Westside Shopping and Entertainment Center in Bern for more than a year: the eccentric Mr. West. The tenth episode of «Mr. West – The Movie» is entirely inspired by the classic film «Back to the Future.».

For around a year, "Mr. West - the film" has formed the core of Republica's campaign for the Westside shopping center (Advertising week reported). In nine episodes to date, the series has shown the adventures of a man who moves into the Westside shopping and experience center. His 9000 square meter "apartment" with pool, water slide, spa, cinema, restaurants and over 50 stores forms the interesting backdrop for the image campaign, which makes the claim "as colorful as life" tangible. Just over a year after the launch, a special tenth episode of "Mr. West - the film" was produced.

The tenth part not only takes up the theme of the current Technorama exhibition at Westside, it also heralds a new era for Mr. West, played by award-winning actor Philippe Graber. With an original DeLorean DMC-12, known from the cinema classic "Back to the Future", the Westside resident drives into the future - a future that will also bring many new things for Mr. West.

Last but not least: rainbow burger

During the 2014 San Francisco Gay Pride Parade, Burger King launched the «Proud Whopper,» sparking curiosity, confusion, and tears of emotion.

The annual gay pride parade took place in San Francisco on June 28 and 29. The demonstrations for more tolerance and rights towards same-sex love were used by numerous companies as an opportunity to present themselves in a particularly progressive and cosmopolitan light. Employees from local companies such as Google, Facebook and Apple marched along and distributed gifts to the spectators. Levi's produced a specially created rainbow collection. Not surprisingly, Burger King also dressed up for more tolerance and announced the "Proud Whopper" on a huge poster in front of the branch on Market Street.

The opinions of the passers-by interviewed varied widely. While one burly motorcyclist wondered dismissively whether homosexuals eat fast food at all, another thought it was about time. The restaurant staff asked the customers - unemotionally, as with extra cheese or ketchup - whether they wanted the Proud Whopper. When asked what was special about this version, they were clueless. Wrapped in rainbow paper... but what makes it different inside from its "regular" namesake and Burger King classic par excellence? Figure it out for yourself! As is always the case when fast food restaurants come out with new creations, there were plenty of curious people who came out in search of that special gay flavor. See for yourself:

The promotion, created by the David/Miami agency, and the plausible resolution earned Burger King a lot of attention and likes on social media. (hae)

New brand index for Switzerland

The Brand Ticker, in collaboration with the Handelszeitung, is launching the Swiss Brand Index. It provides daily updates on changes in the value of Switzerland's 30 most important brands.

From now on, the Handelszeitung and The Brand Ticker provide an instrument to measure the success of Swiss brands up to date. The Handelszeitung publishes the daily updated Swiss Brand Index on its website Handelszeitung.ch. The winners and losers of the domestic brands are also shown there. On Monday, for example, Breguet scored with a 0.15 percent increase in brand value, while the Omega brand lost 0.25 percent compared to the previous day, making it the worst performer among the 30 index brands. "Current events such as a product launch or a shitstorm not only have an impact on the stock price, but also on the brand value," says Stefan Eiselin, editor-in-chief of handelszeitung.ch. "It will be exciting for our readers to observe how such phenomena affect brand value and which brands are successful in the long term and which are not."

The Swiss Brand Index uses the system of The Brand Ticker. This evaluates two million media contributions every day. It is based on around 15,000 international print media, as well as online news and posts on social media platforms. TheBrandTicker combines the results of the media evaluation with the respective associated financial market data and thus calculates the value that brands have based on the published opinion. The data suppliers on board are Lexis Nexis (print media), Trendiction (online and social media) and Six Financial Information.
Data from the 30 most important Swiss brands is analyzed for the Swiss Brand Index. "The aim is to give brands a reference against which they can measure their success," says Nik Stucky, managing director of The Brand Ticker. Stucky is one of Switzerland's most distinguished brand experts and was responsible for Interbrand's brand rating for many years.

In partnership with media monitoring specialist Adwired, Stucky founded The Brand Ticker in 2013. In addition to brand value, it also identifies which events or public discussions negatively or positively influence brand value. TheBrandTicker redefines image and reputation measurement and enables the daily observation and evaluation of all facets of a brand, especially the economic relevance of its image.

At Thebrandticker.com Around 400 brands that The Brand Ticker monitors on an ongoing basis can be accessed with up-to-date results and reports. Brands can also be analyzed in detail in a paid suite. At the customer's request, The Brand Ticker can also analyze brands that are not included in the standard range.

Leo Burnett: First Swiss Weeding Championship

Bio Suisse and Leo Burnett Switzerland crown the first Swiss weeding champions.

Growing organic vegetables requires a lot of manual work and care. For example, weeds are not controlled with herbicides, but by natural means. By hand, among other things. For this reason, the first Swiss Weeding Championship was held on Saturday, July 5 at the Wiesengrund organic farm in Oberglatt ZH. Organized by Bio Suisse and implemented by Leo Burnett in collaboration with Streuplan, the participants competed individually and in groups of five for the title of Swiss champion and great organic prizes. The task: to weed a defined section of an organic carrot field. It was not only the speed that counted, but also the quality of the weeded area. After an entertaining and amusing competition, the very first Swiss weeding champions were crowned and were the first to receive the "Golden Hoe".

SLK: Baby's right of personality violated

The Second Chamber of the Swiss Fair Trading Commission (SLK) has ruled that an advertisement by a men's fashion label violates a baby's personal rights. A second complaint alleging discrimination against women was dismissed.

The objectionable advertising subject for a men's fashion label shows a man perfectly dressed for business. He carries a naked male baby in his arms, whose primary sexual characteristic is recognizable and who pees on him in a high arc. The complainant considered this depiction to be degrading and pornographic. The Second Chamber of the SLK approved the complaint, however not on the basis of principle 3.11 "Sex-discriminatory advertising" of the SLK, but on the grounds of violation of personality rights. It follows from the general right of personality according to Art. 28 para. 1 of the Civil Code that it is inadmissible to depict a person in commercial communication without his or her express consent (right to one's own image, see also principle 3.2 item 1 of the SLK).

In addition, the consolidated code of advertising practice of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) states that commercial communication must respect human dignity. If a person is not capable of judgment, such as the baby in the offending advertisement, then the necessary consent can also be given by his or her legal representatives, for example the parents. This, however, only insofar as the core of the right of personality is preserved. The image of the baby in question while urinating is not one of these exceptions. Rather, it affects the baby's privacy and dignity and thus the unjustifiable core of the right of personality. Thus, his parents were not entitled to consent to the image on behalf of their child.

Discriminatory or humorous?

The second case shows how fluid the perception of gender-discriminatory portrayals still is. A radio commercial for a consumer credit company says: "Imagine your girlfriend has finally passed her driving test on the third try. Now it's high time for a new car ... with electronic parking aids all around." According to the complainant, these statements violated the dignity of women and were therefore discriminatory. The respondent, on the other hand, pleaded for a humorous approach. It was a game with well-known prejudices: "Women can't drive" and "Men love cars more than their wives". The Second Board rejected the appeal because the commercial told an individual story and was not a stereotypical portrayal of women as a whole. In addition, the humorous portrayal was clearly evident.

Viva expands editorial expertise

Viva, the long-established Zurich-based communications agency, is further expanding its editorial expertise: Anselm Schwyn has been the head of the editorial team at Viva since July 1.

In his past, the 47-year-old was editor and page-maker at the Tages-Anzeiger and the Automobil Revue, as well as editor-in-chief of a photo trade magazine. He brings experience in communications as a public relations manager and communications consultant for an international company. In addition, he has experience as a consultant in an agency with a focus on business development. Before joining Viva, he worked as a communications officer for the Office of Transport in the Canton of Zurich. Reinhard Kronenberg already started at the beginning of the year as Head of Public Relations and member of the Executive Board. The 49-year-old has worked for over ten years as a journalist in various media and designed and implemented various websites as a project manager.

Very successful year so far

2014 has been a very good year for Viva so far, according to a statement: In May, the agency successfully helped the ZKS, Zurich's cantonal association for sports, to reject the initiative against a ban on alcohol advertising on sports fields and at events, which is so damaging to sports clubs. Viva is currently designing a new web portal for the Auto Gewerbe Verband Schweiz (AGVS) and its 20 sections with 4,000 members, and at the same time implementing a content marketing system including newsdesk that is unique in the association landscape.
