Wirz creates new damage report television spot

Wirz has produced a new TV commercial for Die Mobiliar featuring a damage report, showing that even on the happiest day of your life, things can go wrong.

Mobiliar's new TV commercial takes place at a wedding. In addition to the bride and groom, the protagonists are the bride's tech-savvy brother and a high-tech drone. The drone is supposed to enrich the wedding video with impressive aerial shots. However, the self-proclaimed wedding videographer never dreamed how spectacular the footage would actually end up being. Marianne Sterchi, project manager for advertising at Mobiliar, reveals only this much: "Part of the wedding gifts for the bride and groom will probably have to be paid for by Mobiliar's claims department. Quickly and without complications, of course, as always."

Last but not least: Oil drilling in Legoland

Greenpeace takes aim at Lego's Shell advertising deal with a wonderful campaign.

The cooperation between Lego and Shell has existed for decades. Anyone who played with Lego as a child couldn't get around the Shell gas station. Countless products feature the oil giant's yellow shell. The Shell logo not only adds a dose of reality to the toy, but above all quietly burns itself into the minds of small (and large) children. In a positive context.

Not good, finds Greenpeace. Lego is part of Shell's carefully thought-out strategy of associating itself with positive values. But outside the Lego box, the company's slate is anything but clean: As early as the mid-1990s, the company came under public scrutiny when it unceremoniously dumped Brent Star, a floating oil tank, in the sea. In Nigeria, Shell has been producing oil for decades - with disastrous consequences for the people and the environment. Now the multinational wants to drill for oil in Artikis. And that is highly risky for the environment and climate. "Climate change is an enormous threat that affects all children worldwide. Shell is using the magic of Lego to cover up its own role in this. The company exploits children, building a lifelong loyalty with the corporation," says Ian Druff by Greenpeace in England.

With a viral spot, Greenpeace draws attention to the problem and calls on Lego to end its cooperation with Shell. The centerpiece of the campaign is a wonderful cover version of the annoying "Lego - The Movie" theme song "Everything is awesome":

And if just everything is not so awesome, it sounds like this:

//www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhbliUq0_r4

The viral effect does not fail to materialize: In two days, the clip has already generated over 2.5 million clicks. The video is not only met with approval, but also triggers lively discussions and not infrequent criticism in the comment columns. People are talking about it. In short, mission accomplished.

FCB Zurich stages big "lawn theater"

Sometimes the best actors can be found on the soccer field. That’s why, in its latest play, the Rigiblick Theater analyzes the World Cup matches in Brazil based on acting criteria.

For all those who were unable to attend the event live, the highlights from the studio stage are now available as a video - including presenter Jann Billet (Daniel Rohr) and the two "theater experts" Thierry Grass (Walter Andreas Müller) and Zlatan Yukan (David Bröckelmann).

The idea, the play itself and the video were created in close collaboration with the FCB Zurich agency. "Our aim was to find a concept that would get the theater talked about in times of absolute football euphoria," says theater director Daniel Rohr, explaining the background to the creation of "Rasentheater". And since every fan has probably called a footballer an actor at some point, the production, which consistently draws parallels between football and acting, is likely to strike a chord with many viewers.

Bildschirmfoto-2014-07-10-um-09.48.02

Just like in real sports talk, things get heated on stage: Robin van Persie's header goal is discussed, as is Suárez's bite or Pepe's red card after his foul on Thomas Müller. The "theater experts" examine the acting qualities of the respective players with the utmost care - and at the same time point out potential for improvement. The suggestions for improving the performance are then acted out by the professional actors themselves in some scenes.

TV24 launches with live sports broadcasts

TV24 is expanding its programming lineup and will begin airing its first live sports broadcasts next week. On July 15, 2014, the Swiss TV station will broadcast live from the Top-Level Athletics Lucerne event as the national host broadcaster.

The event will be hosted by the accomplished sports presenter Janine Geigele. On August 9 and 10, 2014, TV24 will broadcast the international beach volleyball tournament "Beachmania" from Biel.

Top Athletics Lucerne is the third largest athletics meeting in Switzerland and takes place in the Allmend stadium in Lucerne. 200 Swiss athletes will take part. Another 150 athletes from about 40 countries are invited. They will compete in the shot put, javelin, hurdles, long jump, high jump and various running disciplines. Five-time long jump world champion and Olympic champion Brittney Reese (28, USA) leads the international field. The national figurehead will be pole vaulter Nicole Büchler (30), number nine in last year's European best list.

For the first time in a long time, a tournament of the CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship Series, the most highly endowed beach tour of the European Volleyball Federation CEV, will be held in Switzerland with the "Beachmania". A very strong starting field with the current European champions Herrera/Gavira (ESP) as the absolute top team is already emerging. In addition to the best teams from all over Europe, the Swiss beach volleyball elite will also be completely at the start in Biel.

Motor-Presse: Driver change in Volketswil

Four years after taking the helm as editor-in-chief of *Auto-Illustrierte*, Ulrich Safferling is stepping down from his position at Motor-Presse Schweiz and handing the reins to his current deputy, Andreas Faust.

Reto Feurer, Managing Director of Motor-Presse Schweiz, thanked him for his dedicated and sustained commitment to the redesign and development of Auto-Illustrierte over the past few years and regretted the departure of the 50-year-old journalist. "With Ulrich Safferling, we are losing a personality who has given Auto-Illustrierte important impetus. Under his leadership, the magazine was repositioned, its online presence improved and, last but not least, a new and strong motor press title, auto-illustrierte Klassik, was successfully launched on the Swiss market."

Andreas Faust will take over as editor-in-chief on August 1, 2014. Ulrich Safferling will remain at Motor-Presse as Editor-in-Chief of Auto-Illustrierte Klassik until October 31 before taking on a new management role in Munich. Until then, he will assist Andreas Faust in an advisory capacity in the editorial office of Auto-Illustrierte.

Billag continues to collect fees until 2017

Anyone with a radio or television connection will continue to receive mail from Billag at least once a year until 2017. The collection agency will remain responsible for collecting the fee until a new system goes into effect.

The National Council and the Council of States are currently arguing about who will have to pay radio and TV fees in the future. The Council of States wants every household and every company to pay the fees in the future, while the National Council has spoken out in favor of exceptions. No agreement is yet in sight. On Thursday, the Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (Uvek) announced that Billag would remain the collection agency for radio and television reception fees until a new levy system comes into effect. A new public invitation to tender for collection will be issued as soon as the modalities of the new system have been determined.

The contract between the Uvek and Billag, which would have expired at the end of 2014, has now been extended until 2017. At that time, the new levy system is expected to come into force. It made sense to leave the mandate with Billag, it said. If the mandate were to be reassigned for just three years, other companies would not be able to perform this task profitably in view of the effort involved and the amortization costs for infrastructure, IT and personnel.

Since the extension of the contract is a mere addendum to the existing contract, it will be awarded by private treaty, as permitted by the Ordinance on Public Procurement. On the other hand, the mandate of the future collection agency will be put out to public tender when a new levy system comes into force. (SDA)

German-speaking Swiss spend around two hours a day watching television

Television remains one of the most popular leisure activities for the Swiss. In the first half of 2014, an average of 65 percent in German-speaking Switzerland watched television every day. The daily usage time was 130.6 minutes. Time-shifted use was also popular.

In the other parts of the country, reach and usage time were higher: In Suisse romande they were 66.4 percent and 146.3 minutes, in Svizzera italiana 74.3 percent and 185.8 minutes. This is shown by the usage data published on Thursday by Mediapulse and Publica Data for the first half of 2014 and a comparison with the first half of 2013. In German-speaking Switzerland, reach and usage time tended to decrease compared to the first half of 2013, the release continues. The situation in Suisse romande was relatively stable, while an increase was observed in Svizzera italiana.

Time-shifted use in trend

In the first half of 2014, 6.2 percent of TV minutes were consumed time-shifted in German-speaking Switzerland, 8 percent in French-speaking Switzerland and 5.6 percent in Ticino. In the 15 to 49 age group, the figure rose to 11.5 percent in Suisse romande. Mediapulse and Publica Data measure and market official television ratings in Switzerland. The daily data from the TV measurement system (Mediapulse TV panel) is used by TV stations for program optimization and by the advertising industry for selling commercials to specific target groups. Since 2013, in addition to live television, the measurement has also recorded the time-shifted use of television programs up to seven days after the initial broadcast. Television usage on TV sets, desktop computers and laptops is measured. (SDA)

"Sternstunden": Innovations for the anniversary

The «Sternstunden» series, with its three segments—«Sternstunde Religion,» «Sternstunde Philosophy,» and «Sternstunde Art»—will celebrate its 20th anniversary at the end of August. The editorial team is using this anniversary as an opportunity to introduce some new features.

These will come into force with the broadcast on August 31, 2014. The TV church services will now be broadcast under their own label and no longer under the "Sternstunde Religion" label. This will make the distinction between purely editorial programs ("Sternstunde Religion") and programs produced in cooperation with the churches (church services, "Wort zum Sonntag") more clearly recognizable for the audience. In addition, the "Sternstunden" broadcasts will no longer include announcements and interim moderations. Bernard Senn will no longer present "Sternstunden" and will concentrate fully on his radio work again. The presenters will now welcome the audience themselves and introduce their topics and guests themselves.

Editorial director Judith Hardegger: "Bernard Senn helped shape 'Sternstunden'. Without him, the show would not be what it is today. I would like to thank him for his professional and very conscientious work, but also for the many inspiring conversations on the show and among colleagues."

The following changes have been made to the moderators: Norbert Bischofberger, previously one of the hosts of "Sternstunde Philosophie", is switching to "Sternstunde Religion". The doctor of theology will take over the discussions from Judith Hardegger, who wants to devote herself fully to her role as editorial director of "Sternstunden". At her own request, Katja Gentinetta will continue to host "Sternstunde Philosophie" until the end of the year before devoting herself fully to her entrepreneurial activities.

Judith Hardegger: "I am delighted that Norbert Bischofberger, such an experienced and knowledgeable discussion leader, is taking over the religious discussions. And I would like to thank Katja Gentinetta from the bottom of my heart for her great commitment and her intelligent philosophy talks."
