Agency at the airport rolls up real estate manager market

The T. Ruggiero painting company in Wil is looking to attract more real estate management firms and property managers as clients. To target this market, the agency at the airport developed a direct-mail campaign.

The mailling contained a standard paint roller and a paint pad. As soon as the recipient pulls the roller over the paint pad and rolls it into the spotless white shipping box lid, he finds out what the Ruggieros have to tell him.

TBWA\Zurich: Sweater chain for more solidarity

One day before the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, TBWA drew attention to Winterhilfe on October 16, 2014, with a one-time campaign.

In 13 Swiss cities, it spanned a "chain of solidarity. In this way, Winterhilfe appealed for solidarity and help for people who are affected by poverty and cannot afford even things like a warm sweater for the winter. The idea for the textile solidarity chain came from TBWA\Zurich.

Notch: Shaking subjects for earthquake insurance

Notch Interactive is promoting the Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank's earthquake insurance with a truly earth-shattering campaign.

As of 01.10.2014, BLKB is the only bank in Switzerland to insure its mortgage customers against earthquake risks. Every property financed by a mortgage with BLKB automatically receives earthquake protection. Notch Interactive created the campaign for this and dramatized it accordingly. In Switzerland, there is a strong earthquake every 100 years on average. Especially in the Basel region, the earthquake risk is relatively high. With the earthquake insurance, BLKB mortgage customers are optimally protected. Anyone who has a mortgage with BLKB also has a personal advisor. This symbolizes BLKB for many customers.

That is why the consultant is used as an identification figure. A surprising image is used to show that the consultant is there for his or her customers even after an earthquake. The campaign is advertised by means of direct mailings, POS posters, flyers, outdoor advertising, advertisements, online banners and social media measures in the Basel area. All advertising measures lead to a microsite that provides further information on insurance coverage.

Rafael Beutl starts better than Vujo Gavric

Good news for 3+: The first episode of the third season of «The Bachelor» achieved a 15.4 percent market share among 15- to 34-year-olds, making it the market leader during the broadcast.

"We are delighted that "The Bachelor" has got off to such a good start and that we have thus continued the successes of the last season, even getting off to an even better start," Dominik Kaiser, founder and CEO of the 3 Plus Group, said in a statement. In the so-called advertising-relevant target group of 15-49 year-olds, the start of the third Bachelor season also scored - with 11.8 percent market share, the first episode was the second most-watched show during the broadcast. With this figure, Rafael Beutl was able to outdo his predecessor Vujo Gavric: The market share was 13 percent higher than the first episode of the last season. That, on the other hand, may come as little surprise, because unlike Vujo Gavric, the new "Bachelor" Rafael Beutl will benefit from a successful previous season and an existing core audience. How the ratings will develop over the course of the current season remains to be seen. (hae/pd)

Swiss continues "Seats for Switzerland" campaign

In September 2013, Swiss launched the «Seats for Switzerland» campaign. It brought family members and friends who lived far apart back together. Now, Swiss and Publicis are continuing the campaign.

As Switzerland's airline, Swiss would like to offer people in Switzerland the opportunity to enter their personal story for a reunion with far-flung friends or relatives. As in 2013, Swiss is giving away 300 tickets for the most touching, emotional and exciting stories. With "Seats for Switzerland," Swiss wants to thank the Swiss people for their loyalty. The campaign will be Swiss as in the previous year again implemented together with the agency Publicis, as the airline announced on request.

"Tour de Swiss

Anyone living in Switzerland who would like to reunite with family members, an old school friend or a childhood sweetheart who no longer lives in Switzerland can apply for the free airline tickets. Each participant can apply for up to four tickets. Interested persons can submit their story with details of why they would like to see a particular person again online now at Seatsforswitzerland.com submit. In addition, Swiss is touring the whole of Switzerland this year with a mobile film studio as part of the campaign. At 15 locations, Mr. and Mrs. Swiss can now tell their story in person in a specially converted trailer. "We are the airline of Switzerland and being close to the people is extremely important to us. With Seats for Switzerland, we have the opportunity to give something back to the Swiss population," explains Bernhard Christen, Head of Marketing.

All stories submitted by November 17, 2014 will be judged by a jury in search of the most emotional and beautiful reasons for a reunion. This year's jury consists of Swiss writer Joël Dicker, Swiss Chief Commercial Officer Markus Binkert, and Maître de Cabine Anja Gilgen. In addition, a social media vote will take place within the online community to select three winning stories. Full details of the campaign, including a tour schedule, can be found at seatsforswitzerland.com.

What? How? Why? The Tageswoche knows

The Tageswoche has developed an in-house campaign and is promoting itself to readers through posters, on trams, and online.

The aim of the campaign, which was launched on October 20, 2014, is to present the Tageswoche where it takes place and is read by the public: on various devices, i.e. smartphones, tablets and laptops. The design shown on the screens of these devices is based on the cover of the print edition of TagesWoche.

In this way, the campaign takes account of both changed reading habits and the new strategy of the Basel-based medium, which has been focusing its activities on the digital sphere for a year now. The image subjects focus on content that plays a central role in daily reporting. In the campaign, TagesWoche presents itself as a decidedly local medium for Basel. The Tageswoche was launched on October 28, 2011. The medium appears daily online and every Friday in print form.

Last but not least: Fear of cheese

Blockbuster horror movies usually revolve around common horror fantasies. But people can be afraid of just about anything.

Saatchi & Saatchi has produced three online commercials for the "After Dark Film Festival" that focus on particularly bizarre fears. The spots supposedly show real-life phobias. There is probably no fear that does not exist. The Canadian film festival doesn't show any cheese itself - but an equally diverse spectrum of horror stories. (sis)

Fridolin newspaper is entitled to delivery discount

The Federal Supreme Court has rejected an appeal by Bakom. The latter rejected the price reduction for the delivery of the Glarner Zeitung and lodged an appeal against a contrary decision by the Federal Administrative Court.

The price reduction for postal delivery was granted to Fridolin until the end of 2012. Bakom then justified its negative response to Fridolin Druck und Medien's renewed application by stating that the proportion of subscribed newspapers was too small.

According to the federal authorities, at least 75% of the total circulation must be subscribed to in order to benefit from the discounted delivery, which serves to promote the press. In 2013 and 2014, the federal government made a total of CHF 50 million available for this purpose. The certified total circulation of Fridolin is 29,707 copies. 2347 copies are subscribed to, which corresponds to around 8 percent of the large circulation.

As the Federal Supreme Court states in its ruling, there is no legal basis for Bakom's decision. There is no regulation stating that only those daily and weekly newspapers that are at least 75 percent subscribed benefit from the price reduction for delivery.

The Federal Supreme Court also dismissed a further appeal by Bakom against the Federal Administrative Court's granting of the price reduction. This means that the satirical magazine Vigousse is also entitled to the reduced delivery fee.

The Lausanne judges also rejected the appeal by OFCOM regarding the application by the newspaper IZA - Illustrierte Zeitschrift für Sicherheit und Gesundheit am Arbeitsplatz und in der Freizeit, which OFCOM had also rejected. At the behest of the Federal Administrative Court - and now also the Federal Supreme Court - the authority must in this case
clarify the facts again. (SDA)
